Chapter 21: I Don't Want to Remember Me, Part 3
Skulker turned to the portal that formed beside him, Fenrir emerging out of it causing a chill to form inside the hunter. "When could you do that?" He asked. Danny said nothing as he reached out for his arm, "When can you turn into...whatever that was?" He asked as he handed it over to him.
He reattached the metal arm with a clink as it sprang to life. "I told you before, remember? 'A lot of things changed,'" He said as he closed his metal fist, but something didn't feel right. Not with his arm but...within. He looked down at the castle, now with the green mist gone the castle seemed less ominous than before, but time will tell how well the people there will fare in the future. Yet that name, 'Malchior' was still burning in his head like a spiral, more thoughts came to him. Malchior's influence over Raven was the start...the tip of the dagger lodged into his back.
He dealt with his tormentors, the men in those tacky white suits, all that remains of the last of them were melted down and converted into what he patented as Caduceus Medical's nanocells. He dealt with Vlad, the man who told those obsessed G-men, and while he never got the final blow he craved he can take some satisfaction knowing that he's gone. The descendants of the snake who whispered into his so-called 'friends' have been dealt with, their power now within his body or swearing allegiance to him. All that's left...was THEM.
Skulker stared at him, the sad look in the Ghost King's red eyes narrowed into a baleful guise that made his essence cold. "Skulker...tell Desiree that Aragon has been dealt with and to keep an eye on the Princess here. I must go back to the human world." He stated.
"R-Right." Skulker stated, "And um...what will you be doing?"
Danny formed a portal beside himself. "Something I should have done...a long time ago..." He spoke with a low rumble to his voice that remained the hunter of the first thing he thought of when he looked deep into those red eyes of his: a mankiller, a beast thirsty for blood. He turned to Skulker, "Something I should have done a long time ago."
Meanwhile
It was late evening in Jump City, Raven looked over the tome as she sat by the counter. The old book was tattering at the seams, its musty pages barely holding onto the spine due to years of overuse of constant flipping and scouring. Raven learned the hard way about looking through old spellbooks a long time ago, but this book was her obsession for the past year. Within it was said to be a spell that could turn back time. Yet the book must have hidden that secret well, ciphers, and codes guarded the spell well. The closest she ever got was a simple but clear warning, 'One small change, can cause a sordid reaction, unleashing chaos, with no satisfaction. The future is fragile, and easily disturbed by tampering with the past, it can become blurred. The past is the past, let it be. For the future is shaped, by what we can't see. If you alter it, you may not like the result. A warning, from those with magic consult'
The warning seared back at her, almost taunting her. Yet in her heart, she knew there was some wisdom in the rhyme. If a single change could distort the future, was it worth it? Was she willing to make the future worse just to undo her mistake even if it was her biggest one? What could happen if she did try to change the future? Would Danny still be here and Starfire be gone, filled with as much quiet wrath and silent disgust? Or worst, what if...she shuddered to think of the worst outcome. Her train of thought was broken by the sound of the door opening by her. She jumped slightly as she turned to see Starfire enter the room.
"Oh...Starfire." She said as she tried to make a small smile towards the alien girl.
Starfire fixed her in an apathetic stare from one eye as the other part of her face was covered by her long hair. "Raven." She greeted simply as she hovered to the fridge and pulled out a small, cup of dark chocolate ice cream from the freezer. Raven went back to her book expecting the alien to ignore her and fly out with her frozen desert. Yet the silence became more uncomfortable as Starfire seemed to glare at her as she ate dessert. "You know...Danny was the one who got me into this 'flavor'." She said.
Raven froze still at the Tamaranean's words. "Did he?" She asked as she looked up, trying to hide her shock at Starfire striking a conversation with her for the first time in so many years.
"Yes." Starfire answered as she took another bite, "In fact, it was our third date." She said, her bright green eyes looked down at the ice cream in remembrance. "I suppose we didn't do anything too exciting." She said, "We flew down to an ice cream parlor if I remember what you humans call it, and then we went and we sat down and felt the sand and the water between our feet at the beach." She reminisced, "And we just...talked. Well...at first, I talked and he just listened." She confessed as she allowed herself a small smile that might as well be a scalpel slicing Raven's stomach open. "I talked about all sorts of things. About my homeworld, my childhood, my parents...and he would just smile...listen...and when I finally seemed to be finished, he would ask me some questions about space. The stars of my home system... he was fascinated by space. Did you know that, Raven?" She asked fixing her with a glare.
Raven could only shake her head in response. "No."
Starfire took another bite, "Yeah...I suppose I knew that." She said, "But, when we were finished with our ice cream and we seemed to have nothing more to talk about, we kissed." She went on, as Raven's felt her heart twist slightly at her comment. "It was our first one," Starfire smirked, "And it tasted of dark chocolate," she said as she took another bite of her dessert before putting it away.
"W-Why are you telling me this?" Raven asked, the sense of unease and remorse making her feel as if she was getting ready to puke.
Starfire glared at her, "Because I wanted you to know what you took from me, all those years ago." She said, "You forced yourself into my mind once, you've probably seen that memory but you could have never known the feeling I had when I was with him. The feeling of someone accepting you for all your flaws, all your differences and still loving you." Raven could only remain seated in silence. The alien girl could feel a twitch form in her eye at the lack of response, "I used to be envious of you..." She said.
"W-What? Why?" Raven asked.
"Because...Danny was so interested in you at the start." Starfire said, "Whenever you were around, he would drop whatever he was doing just to check on you. Ask what you were doing, he wanted nothing more than to share your interest and you wouldn't, as humans say, 'give him the time of day.'" Raven swallowed her unease as if it formed a swallowed lump in her throat. "I thought...if I acted like you...he would finally look my way, but that wasn't something I could do." She said as she finally smiled, yet Raven could only feel a cold unease fill her as her smile was far from the kind and warm beam and more of a callous, sadistic smirk. "But in the end, I guess I never had to because you eventually drove him into my arms."
"S-Starfire, I-."
"Remember what was the last thing you said to him, Raven? Before you decided to shut yourself in with that beast?" Starfire asked, "You said he was an 'abomination,'...a 'mistake of nature.'...a 'freak.'" She went on. "And it was that moment of pain you inflicted on him, that allowed me to fill the holes in his heart that you ripped open." She said as her smirk faded away. "Danny was the first one who didn't make me feel so much like an alien on this planet. That maybe one day, this planet could truly be my home...and then...you took that away from me." She said as her eyes became dull and somber.
Raven couldn't say a thing as her mouth dried away, leaving her with a blank vacant expression on her face. She couldn't deny that she did just that, there was no point in denying that. Starfire knew that all too well as evident when the alien girl stared down the hooded spellcaster before the light faded from her eyes. "Normally, I hoped that people like you would become better...learn from their mistakes...but this is a mistake that we have been sitting on for four long years Raven. Just note, that I'm not gonna wallow in it forever." She said as she flew out of the room. 'And when tomorrow comes...we all will get what we deserve.' she thought to herself. Tomorrow would be the day she confessed everything to this 'Supergirl' that Jinx and Argent told her about. She didn't care if she was gonna rot in the cell with the rest of them, she couldn't care if everyone in the entire League looked at her like she was a traitor or even called her that to her face, she knew that finally coming clean with this would be the first step to possibly forgiving herself.
At That Time
Blackfire was dressed in a purple nightgown, her black hair was wet from her nightly shower as she brushed it and she hummed a tone to herself as she looked at herself in a vanity mirror. Blackfire had to admit that Danny had good taste when his public identity acquired this large manor up in the mountains. The main floor had a massive living room, the kitchen was nice and 'rustic' as humans would say, even a nice cozy fireplace. This cabin manor even had a hot spa just right outside. Outside of this bedroom, there were four others on the top floor. As she placed her comb down she gave herself one more look just as she felt an invisible pair of hands softly rub against her clavicle and her shoulders earning a soft moan from her as she closed her eyes.
"Hmmmm, I missed you." She said as Danny appeared behind her.
"Have I been gone for that long?" He asked as he got close and kissed her neck.
"A few days is too long." She answered as she opened her eyes to see her ghostly lover in the mirror. "You seem tired, did you get any sleep while you gone?"
"Sorta." He answered, "I slept a little in a run-down apartment...looking after a clown."
"Well that sounds like a story," She responded with a playful smile, "what else did you get up to?"
"I slain a dragon, swallowed his soul." He said as his hands glided down to her sides making her moan.
"Oh? And did my brave dragonslayer save a pretty princess like in those earth stories?" She said.
"She's easy on the eyes, I suppose." Danny he said with a slight deadpan. "I don't get why you seemed to want to try and hook me up with other women."
She turned over to kiss him on his lips, "Don't get me wrong, lover. If you cheated on me, I would never forgive you. However, I don't mind sharing if you have an honest attraction or affection for them. Or if they have for you. As long as I agree to the partner, then I will allow it. Especially if they are...'open' to spreading that affection to the rest of your woman. Like Circie and Rose."
Danny made an uneasy smile, he still has a hard time wrapping his mind around the idea that three women want him equally. The idea of any more than that was ludicrous. Yet there was one person that came to mind. "I see...well...something else happened today. I met someone...someone that I used to know." He said.
Blackfire gave him a concerned look, "What do you mean?"
"When I was in Dakota City, someone recognized me...they recognized me as 'Danny Fenton.'" He said.
"Your original human name," Blackfire responded...admittedly Danny didn't share much of his identity with anyone but it knew the memories caused him unease.
"Yeah...I expected her to hate me...to scream at me...but she didn't...she hugged me." Danny answered.
"So you and her were close?" Blackfire making a slight smile, "Interesting. What was her name?"
"Valerie Grey...we...I...I don't know what exactly. We were almost together but we had to break things off. Or rather she did." He confessed.
"Sounds like her loss, what made her do that?" Blackfire asked.
"Because she hated the other me. She hated ghosts." He answered, "She dedicated herself to hunting them down. She didn't know about that though, so I guess it was just her way of protecting me. Funny enough, she became the expert ghost hunter for the Justice League."
"Hmmm, well human social structures still confuse me," Blackfire stated, "But it sounds like after you disappeared from her life and came back in, now she wants to make sure she doesn't lose you again."
"..."
Blackfire smile grew a bit more, "Maybe I am right? What did she ask of you?"
"She wanted to...met up again. I told her that I wasn't the same person but...she insisted." Danny said, "I will admit...I probably didn't put up much of a resistance."
"Ahhh, so you want to see her again as well?" Blackfire went on. "Maybe because she brought along some good memories as well?"
"She did...and I hated it." Danny answered, "It made me feel so...so damn weak."
"Danny," Blackfire said as she placed her hands on the sides of his face. "You. Are not. Weak." She affirmed him, "I've seen you walk away from combat with an All-Powerful Ghost King, arm shattered into splinters and eye gone and you comforted me when I was crying in fear. I've seen you defend yourself when you were nothing more than a brain in a jar. I've seen you lash out against your tormentors like a beast and break their wills like cowards in the face of their demise. I've seen you fly up into the atmosphere of my homeworld and destroy an armada of ships before you descended back to the planet like a god of destruction." She said with sincerity, "Whatever you call yourself, Danny...Daniel...Fenrir...Luthor...Fenton...Phantom...no matter what, you are strong. And you...are mine."
"Komand'r..." He whispered longingly.
Blackfire felt a pleased shiver at the sound of him saying her true name as she kissed him deeply, "Now, I don't know what you want to do with this girl. Take her as one of your woman, use her to get in with those League fools. Or ignore her entirely. But I think, it's adorable how you can be so commanding, so forceful...so...dominating in one moment. And yet so...earnest, sincere...even a little shy in another." Danny couldn't say much as he simply blushed faintly at her words. "Ah! there it is." She teased as she ran her fingers across his lips. "Now how about, you toss me onto that bed. And You can remind me of how much of a beast you are?" She said as she slide her hands under his robe onto his chest making him groan in pleasure.
"Alright, but there is one more thing." Danny said.
"Yes, my love?" She whispered huskily in his ear.
"I want to hit the Titans." He said, "I got rid of the White-Suits, that dragon I reminded me that I've been putting off-confronting them for so long and I don't even know why. I think it's time I hurt them for once."
"Hmmm, I see." Blackfire stated, her smile ever present. "And what of my sister?"
"I don't know what I am going to do when I see her." Danny confessed. "She wasn't there when they attacked me and handed me over to be experimented on...yet if she still there...with them after everything. Then I want to know why, to hear her reasons."
Blackfire frowned slightly, "Do you still care for her?"
Danny's eyes went wide as he embraced her, "Remember what I told you. I never want you to think that I am just using you to replace her. Even if I do care for her, she is not you. I don't even know if I would even feel anything like that with her again."
"...I know she does." Blackfire answered, "I know my sister. My sister doesn't have the nerve or impulse in her overly good-natured heart for this kind of betrayal. I know she still cares for you. Her little friends must have acted on their own and...I know that even you still care for her. Hence why do you want to hear her out and not just put her head on a spike." Her smile grew wide and cunning, "Alright when you take my sister...when you get your answers...you leave her to me."
"Why?" Danny asked.
Blackfire's grin became coy and mischievous, "Let's just say, I want to educate my sister in the real hierarchy of things. Now, how about I help you... relieve some tension before you go out there and make those wretched little bastards suffer?" She said as she spread open her nightgown, revealing her large breasts. Danny merely smiled back as he picked her up, earning her a loud squeal of amusement and placing her on the bed as the two began to kiss deeply and run their hands over each other's bodies.
As the sun began to rise over the horizon in Jump City. Starfire hardly slept the previous night, she was already dressed as she stared out the window overlooking the city. Beside her bed was a folder. Inside was the record of Starfire's confession to the disappearance of Danny Phantom, a record of the events that led to the betrayal from the Titans. Raven's manipulation by Malchior, Robin's deal with the Guys in White, Cyborg, and Beast Boys assault on Phantom. It may not be hard evidence but it should be more than enough to cause the League to look into the Titans and finally put the mystery of Phantom's disappearance to rest.
She wanted to give Jinx and Argent one final goodbye and a thank you, but Star City was quite a flight away from Jump City and she didn't want to miss this moment. She sighed as she got up, she allowed herself a simple smile. Yet as soon as it formed, it died as the blaring alarm went off in the tower causing flashing red lights to go off. Her heart instantly sank...should she even bother?...no...someone could be in danger...Danny would want her to help. She set the envelope down on her nightstand as she flew out of her room.
Entering the main room, she already saw Cyborg at a monitor quickly typing on the keyboard. It wasn't long till Beast Boy came sprinting in on the form of a cheetah before reverting. "Yo, I'm here! What's the sitch?" He asked as he went over to Cyborg.
"I...I don't know." Cyborg answered, "The alarm went off but nothing is coming back from the city..."
"So what it's a false alarm then?" Argent asked as she and Jinx welcomed into the room.
Cyborg kept working on, scanning through the system as quickly and thoroughly as possible. "N-No...something happened." He stated as Raven entered the main room. "Something triggered the alarm...from here," he said muttering to himself. Raven locked eyes with Starfire for a moment causing the spellcaster to shrink away from the alien's gaze.
As Beast Boy stretched his limbs, trying to wake up for the early morning. He went over to the window and looked outside into the morning day. He rubbed his eyes trying to get rid of the sleep from them. After he was down looked out and spotted something strange out in the distance; an unmoving black dot. Just as the the alarm went off again. "Um...guys..." Beast Boy called out.
"N-No wait! This can't be!" Cyborg said frantically.
"What's going on Cyborg?" Raven asked.
Beast Boy looked back out the window, he narrowed his eyes at the black dot. "Guys!" He called out again.
"Something is hacking into the Tower's systems!"
"Wait how?!" Jinx came over to see the screen showing several areas being shut down starting with their comms to other branches, alarms, and then to defensives as Cyborg tried to rapidly counteract them.
"I-I don't know," Cyborg answered, "The source keeps opening up more and more ways to get into the system!"
Beast Boy could only look on as the dot started to grow bigger. "GUUUUYS!" He called out again this time getting the attention of the other titans. Pointing to the black dot in the distance. "Do you see that? Please tell me I'm crazy." The other Titans looked over to see what the changeling was pointing at. They watched on in curiosity as the dot seemingly vanished from sight.
"W-What was that?" Cyborg asked himself.
The Titans were silent as a sense of dread seemed to fill the air around him. Even Starfire began to feel a sense of anxiety swell inside her for a moment. When what felt like an eternity passed, the sense of dread seemed to fade. "M-Maybe it was nothing?" Beast Boy suggested right as a loud bang could be heard along with cracking glass. They looked up and saw that one of the massive glass panels started to break.
"That can't be good..." Argent said.
"That glass was meant to take a hit from military-grade ordinance. So yeah, that's is terrible!" Cyborg commented as another bang could be heard as more glass started to spiderwebbed with cracks. The sense of dread started rushing back into them like a wave of primordial fear as another bang and crack this time on the left. Another bang, this time lower, lower, and lower each large panel of glass cracking. A moment of stillness came, but their sense of dread didn't fade...if anything it grew...as if they all instinctively knew they were in the eye of the storm.
Starfire's hand glowed with green energy, Cyborg's arm shifted into a glowing canon as Raven's eyes glowed with magical energy. Argent readied herself by forming two large fists out of her red energy. Jinx was ready to fling a bolt of misfortune at the nearest threat while Beast Boy began to shift his arms into that of a massive ape. "We don't know what we're up against...be ready for anything." He cautioned. "Ready Titans?"
"Ready!" Came the collective response.
"Are you?" Came another voice. The Titans quickly shifted their attention to behind them. There they saw a figure clad in a black hooded robe, two glowing red eyes staring back at them with a glowing gem in the center of his forehead. Cyborg noted the crude mechanical arm and the cybernetic eye as he fixed his sonic canon at the intruder. "No...I don't think you're ready for me at all."
"Bold words, stranger." Cyborg called out, "Got a name?"
The figure said nothing as he started to approach the group. Jinx launched a pink bolt toward him but his hand glowed a scarlet red and swatted it away causing the bad luck energy to hit the microwave in the kitchen, causing the appliance to smoke and short-circuit. Cyborg fired his sonic cannon only for the figure to use the same red energy to form a shield that absorbed the blast. Starfire tossed some green blasts only for the figure to dodge them causing the stairs behind the figure to be struck instead. Argent sent a red hand out to try and grab him only for the figure to summon a green portal ahead of himself and vanish through it before the hand could grab him.
"Where'd he go?!" Beast Boy called out, just as another portal appeared behind Starfire. Before the Tamaranean could react a white cloth was brought to her face, the alien could only gasp as a strange smell filled her nose as she passed out in the attacker's arms.
"Get your hands off her, creep!" Jinx shouted angrily as the stranger held the unconscious Starfire close to him like a shield.
The figure slowly backed away from them as another portal formed behind him. "You want her? Come get her." He taunted as he disappeared into the portal with his captive. Jinx broke into a sprint after him with Argent following close behind.
"STAY TOGETHER!" Cyborg called out to the two girls who failed to reach the portal before it closed.
"Damn it!" Jinx cried out as the other Titans could only stare at the space. Cyborg with regret on his face, Beast Boy sneering in anger at the figure, Raven frantically scanning the spot as Argent could only stare in concern at the disappearance of the Alien girl.
Cyborg returned to the nearby console as he typed in a few commands. "I can get the defenses back on, that should help us deal with this guy. Activating the sensors and-." Cyborg was cut his entire body froze stiff.
"Cy, CY! What's wrong?!" Beast Boy called out Cyborg started to twitch erratically.
"S-Something is ha-ha-hacking into my systems!" He called out as he frantically tried to fight back. His cybernetic eye showed a constant thread of information about where the cyber attack was trying to break through.
"I'm disappointed," The voice came again as the figure could be seen hovering above them. "I expected this to be hard, yet here you are. A puppet with my hand on your strings." The figure made Cyborg turn around to the Titans and blast his sonic cannon at them.
Argent formed a red shield to block the blast as Beast Boy transformed into an eagle and flew towards the man controlling Cyborg, who only flew backwards and phased through the ceiling causing Beast Boy to panically transform back into a cat to safely land on his feet right as Cyborg finally regain control of himself and cease firing at the group. "Is everyone alright?!" He called out frantically.
"We're fine," Argent said as she looked up at the ceiling. "Anyone got any plans for this guy?"
"That eye he has..."Cyborg started, "It seems to emit some sort of signal that can hack into devices. If possible I can hijack the signal and see if I can do some damage back. But I am gonna need time."
"And time is the one thing you don't have!" The figure shouted as he rammed into the metal hero, crashing out of the window.
"Cyborg!" Raven called out as she could only watch the pair struggle as they flew out towards the city. Raven jumps out of the broken window to fly after them with Beast Boy following after her by turning into a pterodactyl.
Argent and Jinx looked at each other, worry clear on their faces. "W...What are we going to do about Star?" Argent asked.
Jinx looked over to the other pale girl, "That guy is our best chance to get her back, so we can't just let him go." Jinx said as she turned to the console. "You go with the Titans, keep that guy busy. I'm gonna reach out for help."
Cyborg tried his damnedest to fight his attacker off. The man possesses a powerful strength that one wouldn't expect from his cloaked form as the assailant seemed to be smirking from underneath that cover. "Having fun tin-man?!" He shouted at Cyborg, an insane glint in his eye was unnerving but Cyborg did his best to fight it off with grit teeth.
"I will be when I bust your head open!" Cyborg shouted as he tried to punch the figure only for his first glitch and twitch frantically as his hand refused to respond to him. "W-WHAT?!"
"Gonna have to do better than that." The attacker growled as he went straight up with the cybernetic hero, his eye hacking into his system, scanning and reading his diagnostic till something caught his attention, "'Pain receptors?'" He said, Cyborg could practically hear the smile forming on his face. "What cruel inventor gave a machine like you the ability to feel pain?"
Cyborg growled, "'My body is mostly machine, but I got a soul. Can you say the same?!"
"Well aren't you brave, but tell me, can your soul help you fly, machine?" He taunted as he let go of Cyborg.
Cyborg gasped as he felt the sense of weightlessness for a moment before gravity seemed to catch up and started to take his body back down to the earth. Cyborg activated the sonic cannons in before of his arms and pointed them at the figure. Yet before he fired, the cannons shut down and he noticed a message on his arm. 'Pain receptors increased to 1,000% sensitivity.' His eyes went wide, they weren't even designed to go up that high! The figure moved with seemingly unnatural speed and delivered a strong blow to his chest, causing a large dent in his cavity, the sensors fed into his brain the pain of a broken sternum times a hundred into his would be as his still human brain went blank for a moment. Worst to come was that the figure put so much strength into his blow that it sent Cyborg crashing into the city like an asteroid. Cyborg slammed on the hard pavement, forming a large crater and a dense cloud of debris as civilians began to scream and run from the sight. Cyborg could only remain frozen in pain as his hypercharged pain receivers were flaring into his system. He weakly held up his arm to see that his system was severely damaged in the front chassis, if the blow had been harder would have severely damaged his power source. His neural network in the back prevents him from accessing his legs. Cyborg began to reroute his system to reach his legs another before a shadowy tendril coiled around it and crushed his arm like a hydraulic press. Cyborg could only howl in agony as the tendril tore it off before more came doing the same to his legs and arm.
Cyborg could only cry out as his torn extremities sparked as the tendrils coiled around them. Cyborg could only see a silhouette in the thick dust. "Huh...I expected you to be harder to break too." The figure said as he loomed over him. Those glowing red eyes stared down at him with what could just be described as a well of hate as the tendrils carried his broken limbs to him. The figure looked over them appraisingly for a moment before summoning a portal and tossing them in like garbage. "But...I suppose metal is just metal at the end of the day. Right, Tin-Man?"
"Screw you." Cyborg growled back.
"Ha, still got spirit huh?" The man mocked him as he landed next to him, squatting down to look Cybrog in the eye, "I suppose that should be expected of you. After all, look at hell you've been through." He said gesturing at his mechanical body. "You no stranger to losing a limb or two." Cyborg could only growl, the pain was unbearable but he would be damned if he gave this freak the satisfaction of knowing that. The figure turned his attention back to him, tilting his head, as something caught his attention. "But then again, there does seem to be something left of the original man." the figure said as his hand collapsed down on the top of his head. "Guess I'll take that as well, do me a favor and struggle. It will hurt so much worse if you do." He said as he began to shove his thump into Cybrog's only organic eye.
Cyborg screamed and howled in misery as he felt the digit go into his socket. The wet squishing of his eyeball might as well be thunder in his ears as the pain began to ravage his mind. As much as he wanted to squirm, he refused. Any threshing would cause more damage. Even damage his still human brain. When the figure finally pulled his thumb out, his hand was covered in blood as it gushed out onto the ground, staining his metal chassis. "GO TO HELL YOU FUCK!" Cyborg cried out. "I'LL FRY YOU FOR THIS!"
The figure could only smirk down at the blind, limbless man under him. "Oh trust me, I've already been to Hell." He hissed just he grabbed the cyborg by the mouth before it started to freeze. "And I can't wait to drag you down personally." Before he could finish, a giant glowing red hand came right for him. The figure cursed as he dropped Cyborg and barely dodged the hand's grasp with a backflip. He looked up to see Beast Boy, Raven, and Argent flying in the air.
"Cyborg!" Raven called in concern just as a shard of ice flew by her face cutting her cheek slightly. Raven placed her hand against the cut only to see blood on her fingers looking at the figure who started to form ice shards between his fingers like throwing knives. Ice began to gather around the figure as he looked at the three in his sight. He waited for the first one to make the first move. "I don't know who you are, but you're gonna pay for what you did to Starfire and Cyborg," Raven spoke darkly.
"Bold words from a little bitch." The figure spoke back. "Come over here and show me what you can do, or do you want me to come over there and make this city rain with your blood?"
Beast Boy flew down towards the figure as he shifted into an enormous, green yeti as it roared and rushed toward the robed man. Raven and Argent flew down to check on Cyborg, her fierce glare faded to a worried frown as she gently placed her hands on Cyborg's face. "It's okay, we got you." She assured him.
"Raven..." Cyborg shakily said, "This guy is insane. Don't leave BB alone with him." He cautioned.
Raven looked up at Beast Boy, the figure was dodging his attacks with ease. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath trying to clear her thoughts, she let them out slowly before turning to Argent. "Argent, take Cyborg back to the tower. Stay there with Jinx."
"W-Wait!" Argent called out before Raven flew off towards the fight. Argent sneered in frustration before turning towards what remained of Cyborg. "You hear that big guy? I'm taking you back to Titan's Tower." She said as she gently lifted Cyborg onto a floating stretcher she created. Cyborg said nothing as he seemed to slip into a state of shock. "
Danny was riding high. The look of fear and uncertainty in their eyes when they first saw him, the moment when he captured Starfire and vanished away like a thief into the night, the sounds of Cyborg's screams as broke his body and crushed his eye, it all started to fill him with a delight he hasn't felt since the first time he slaughtered his first GIW base after getting his new body. Even now when Beast Boy was charging at him like a feral animal swiping and swinging his massive ape-like arms and failing to hit him, seeing that noticeable annoyed and angry tinge curl his lip made him want to laugh.
But he kept it back, no need for distractions. It would be pathetic that after everything he has been through, he would be struck down by some idiot playing at being an overgrown ape. The green yeti's swipes were fast but Slade's brutal training made up for it. Danny might as well be dancing around them with how telegraphed the blows were coming. Beast Boy was never the brightest of the group, so it never seemed to occur to the green boy that he was just wasting his energy trying to hit him or that Danny was already creating a small snowstorm around them as ice and snow coated the area.
Beast Boy stopped after some time, slumped over as he struggled to breathe. The cold air came into his lungs and out as a dense white fog. "What's the matter? Tired already?" Danny mocked. "Pathetic."
Beast Boy only clenched his teeth before shifting into a charging ram. Danny smirked as he grabbed it by the horns. BB seemed shocked that he was keeping him at a standstill. Danny caught something out of the corner of his eye, a dark cloak flying towards them from beyond the snowy winds. Danny merely smirked as he started to spin with the green ram in his hands. It wasn't long till he was swinging the ram around like an athlete doing a hammer throw till he released BB and sent him hurling towards Raven.
Raven gasped as a green ram went flying at her from the dense snowfall, not having time to dodge as BB slammed into her sending the two spiraling down onto the roof of a building. Beast Boy maneuvered so he would take the full force of the impact, transforming into a panda to bear to absorb the impact and wrap its large arms around the sorceress protectively. The ceiling collapsed from the landing causing the two to land in a warehouse. Beast Boy growled in pain before he fell unconscious and shaped back into his oldself. Raven's eyes went wide as she started to shake the green changeling, "Beast Boy, Beast Boy! Come on now's not the-."
She pleads choking in her throat as a strong hand wrapped around her neck. Raven struggled to breathe as the hand lifted her as she was forced to stare at their unknown enemy. The red eyes glared back at her with such hate that it made the sorcerous shudder.
"So, now it's just you and me...good~." Danny said to her in a low growl.
Raven sneered back, "What...are you?!" She struggled to ask.
"...I...am the beginning of your end." He said to her, "I am the death of this world that you hold so dear and the bringer of a glorious new one." Raven struggled to break his hold causing him to smile underneath the cover, "I am the start of your downward spiral to your inevitable destruction." He said as he brought he in close. "I...am...FENRIR, King of all Ghosts."
A beam of red energy struck Danny in the shoulder forcing him to drop the Raven who landed on the ground and started to cough loudly struggling to get air into her body. Danny looked at his shoulder to note the slight burn mark before angrily glaring at the source. Only for his eyes to go wide as he saw a familiar blond girl floating down with her blue eyes glowing a distinct red.
"Well King Fenrir." Supergirl started as she cracked her knuckles, "ready for your royal beatdown."
Danny stared at her for a few moments before inhaling sharply, "This...doesn't concern you. Leave."
Kara Zor-El cocked her eyebrow at the statement, "Your attack on this city and your little snowstorm is putting a lot of people in danger. So yeah...I say it does."
Danny groaned as he and the Kryptonian started to circle each other, "You entered the ghost zone." Danny stated.
"Yeah...that was me." Kara confessed, "Truthfully, when I heard about this so-called 'King Fenrir' I expected someone more...impressive."
Danny didn't say anything as he stared at her. "Well...I guess in time you will learn." He said as he opened a portal behind him and stepped back into it.
"NO WAIT!" Kara tried to rush at him only for the portal to close just inches in front of her. "Damn it!" She said before turning to Raven. "You alright?" She asked.
Raven looked up at her, "I'm fine..." She answered, "Cyborg isn't...and Beast Boy..."
Kara scanned the shapeshifter with her x-ray vision, "Nothing's broken, maybe a concussion." She informed as she looked up, the snowstorm started to digress. "It looks like Fenrir really did leave..."
"You know that guy?" Raven asked as she started to pick up the shapeshifter.
"Partly," Kara answered. "We don't-."
"Raven! RAVEN!" Jinx's voice shouted on Raven's communicator.
Raven quickly pulled out the device, "Jinx! How's Cyborg!?"
"He's fine but the tower!" Jinx answered, "The creep is at the tower!"
Raven's eyes went wide, "What?! Are you guys safe?!"
"We're fine! But that creep sucked us into the portal and...look!" Jinx frantically explained. The two girls, with Raven carrying Beast Boy, flew up out of the hole. Raven gasped loudly while Kara could only watch in astonishment as the tower started to freeze over. The building started to wither away from the sheer cold as it collapsed from the frozen assault.
"Dakota City," Kara whispered remembering the last time she saw something like this as the tower crumbled away into frozen ruin. Kara used her supervision to see the figure hoving over the remains of the tower before slipping away into another portal.
