With Daki joining the fight Douma may have actually needed to go all out, he hadn't expected anyone to join Akaza so now there was a bigger issue.
He knew that even if he defeated Daki, she could just call Gyutaro, who was nowhere to be seen, into the fight, meaning he was technically up against three upper moons rather than two. However, Douma was crazy, he never panicked, so he simply acted unbothered.
Daki was ready for this fight. She was really helping Akaza, despite being the weakest upper moon she was one of the best at assisting her fellow upper ranks considering she was the only one apart from her brother who worked in a team regularly. Gyutaro was watching from a distance with Nakime who was slowly shuffling away from him, he was waiting for Daki to call him but for now it was fairly awkward. Especially with Nakime moving slowly away from him while he pretending to not notice.
Akaza and Daki attacked at once and for the first time in the battle they managed to seriously injure him, even though he was upper rank two he was having trouble regenerating from that attack. Nakime and Gyutaro cheered and clapped from the makeshift stands. Gyokko had turned up only just noticing the noise and complaining that the explosion had chipped one of his vases. Not one of them listened. Muzan and Kokushibo were watching with interest "should we do something?" Kokushibo whispered "this is just getting good, not a chance" Muzan answered as if it wasn't that serious. The battle continued with Akaza and Dakis combined efforts not giving Douma time to properly heal. Finaly when Douma had practically been wiped out of existence multiple times and was doing his utter best to stop the attacks, Daki realised that at this rate Akaza was going to be the one to kill Douma, she was falling just that bit behind, and she knew if she really wanted to go for that rank it would be best if she killed Douma herself. If upper six killed Douma.
"Gyutaro, stop standing there watching and help us" She screeched. Within an instant he was finishing Douma off from behind.
Douma didn't heal from that.
Nakime was so overjoyed that she strummed a happy tune on her biwa while dancing. Which was not something she did often. Proving that this really was something to celebrate.
Muzan had to wonder if he had just potentially lost his chances at finding the blue spider lily for the sake of some drama. Kokushibo decided he had to do something. He walked over and only said "congratulations" the three winers had to question if he was being sarcastic or not with how dull his tone was. They didn't have time to ask him before Muzan called him over. He of course went over, leaving them wondering.
Muzan made it very clear that he wasn't happy "as much as I hate Douma, this is honestly bad overall, I did need his cult, why didn't you do anything Kokushibo?" he asked, Kokushibo shrugged, knowing Muzan would have gone mad at him if he did do something. Muzan had to walk off to deal with rearranging the upper ranks with Kokushibo following close behind, knowing that it was going to be one of the worst days he'd lived.
Akaza, Daki and Gyutaro all cheered "we won, Nakime, we won!" Daki yelled out, Nakime was still celebrating. Then just to ruin the fun Gyokko screeched "but you broke my vase!" as if it was important "it was Doumas fault" Akaza yelled "it was ugly anyway" Daki commented which send Gyokko mad "it was not ugly, and you all wrecked it" he said as if they cared "will you shut up, or your next" Daki threatened, Gyokko left despite the fact her threat was fairly empty considering Daki and Akaza were exhausted and Gyutaro had vanished. Gyutaro just wanted to be alone for a while. Hantengu came out of his hiding place to ask in his usual half crying voice what had happened "we just killed Douma" Daki bragged. Hantengu started crying again, honestly who knew what he was crying about. Akaza decided that this was a good time to get going "lets go find out what happening with Muzan" he said to Daki who was happy to find out just how many ranks she was going to move up, she was already hoping that since it was Gyutaro dealing the final blow it would be upper two but she tried not to get ahead of herself. They needed help finding Muzna first "Nakime, can you teleport us to Muzan real quick?" Daki asked "sure, just be warned I can hear he isn't in a good mood" Nakime said before her biwa strummed and they were suddenly standing just in front of a door.
They heard a bang then a smash. Both followed by Muzan shouting words they couldn't make out. Nakime was right, he wasn't exactly jumping for joy. Daki was almost tempted to walk away "what should we do?" she whispered to Akaza "lets wait until he chills out" Akaza said, Daki nodded, he wouldn't be glad to see them with the mood he was in, and they didn't want to risk anything with him. they sat down on some stairs while listening in as much as they could to Muzan's rant. The only thing they could work out was that he was annoyed with all the work he had to do and something about not enough entertainment in the infinity castle. Akaza and Daki were getting genuinely worried about him.
After a short while Muzan slammed the door open "I'm calm now, not that I ever wasn't" he said. Akaza and Daki nearly jumped out their skins, Muzan looked like he was actually serious, which was a little unnerving but still, they stood up and walked into the room, noticing Kokushibo was standing in the corner like a house plant. Nakime was still working on cleaning the room up as they could tell from the shifting furniture and vases putting themselves back together perfectly, she must have been pissed off beyond belief by now. Muzan still picked up a piece of paper from his desk that looked like someone had scribbled all over it, angrily. Still, Muzan seemed to look at it like it was important, so they assumed it must be "okay, to sort this mess out, Akaza is upper two, Daki and Gyutaro three, is everyone okay with that?" he asked, they nodded, Daki was slightly disappointed but she was still fairly happy with the outcome. Actually, Akaza had a question "Where is Gyutaro? I've not seen him since the fight" they all had to pause for a minute "Daki can't you find him?" Kokushibo asked. Even Muzan jumped "I forgot you were there for a second" Muzan said. Kokushibo didn't respond "not precisely but I know he's somewhere close" Daki answered. Muzan looked ready to fly into another fit of rage "don't tell me he's gone doing something stupid" Muzan said as if he was on the edge of losing his mind.
Then they heard it.
A giant crash.
They all went running towards the sound of the crash. When they got to the source of the sound the first thing, they saw was Gyokko and Gyutaro battling it out "I worked so hard on those pots just for you and your sister to break them, do you know how much effort I put into them?" Gyokko ranted while sending fish flying in Gyutaro's direction, who was attacking right back with his sickles "it's a worthless piece of trash, it wasn't even that pretty" Gyutaro screamed back "take that back!" Gyokko raged. At this rate there would be nothing left of Nakime's home. She was not going to be happy. Muzan was invested in the drama at this point, so he didn't bother stop them. Daki ran to join her brother, insulting the vases the best she could considering she hadn't really looked at them. However, Kokushibo decided that it was time to do something, before Nakime teleported the lot of them to the sun.
"Thats enough fighting" he said, half hoping they'd just listen to him. Gyutaro was the only one who responded "he started it!" other than that they all ignored what he had just said, so Kokushibo turned to Muzan, using their telepathic communication he messaged Muzan "I know how fun this is but at this rate were going to be the only ones left by time the sun sets" Muzan frowned but didn't seem to disagree "fine" he said. Kokushibo was right "stop the fight or your all dead" Muzan threatened.
That did actually stop the fight.
Gyokko went storming off, muttering angrily as he went. Daki went right to Gyutaro telling him about their promotion, clearly happy with herself. Akaza and Kokushibo both just sat down, clearly wondering if becoming a demon was really worth it.
Now that the fights had been sorted out for now Muzan realised that he had to find a way to prevent anymore happening and considering they weren't even halfway through the day another one was almost guaranteed to break out.
Muzan had an idea.
