{'Over two years ago the world was pretty ordinary, nothing but usual mundane things happened, but one day everything changed.

You see one one day there was a giant flash, of rainbow light, seen in the sky all around the world. Scientists said it was a bizzare meteorological event, but others said different.

Other people, mainly younger kids, said they saw a glimpse of two strange worlds within the flash. However this was disregarded as nonsense by professionals, even though different kids around the world all said the same thing.

And a few days after the flash something else happened, all around the world strange cards appeared falling out of the sky.

But despite the strangeness of the event no one seemed scared or even really talked about it, save the kids that gathered the cards.

And after a ton of kids all over the world had at least one card they started finding something else, strange ball like creatures that seemed the react to the cards. No one really knows who started using the name first but eventually these creatures where named Bakugan.

But soon enough the true capabilities of the Bakugan became known as word of Bakugan brawls began spreading.

This resulted in a group of the older kids with Bakugan developing rules for Bakugan brawls so things didn't get out of hand, and eventually a world ranking system began which really made brawling popular.

And that's where someone like me comes in. My name is William Roberts, I have been a Bakugan brawler since the beginning and a year ago I took up the task of teaching new Bakugan brawls the rules. I just hope I taught enough new brawlers to help us if the danger connected to the Bakugans origin makes its way to Earth.}

As the sun shined down onto the streets of Bayview a young man was peddling his bike down the street.

The young man had lazily slicked back dark brown hair and green eyes. He wore dark blue jeans with a sand t-shirt, and a brown leather jacket with orange trainers.

After rounding a corner he slowed to a stop before hopping off his bike and parking it at a bike rack, and securing it with a bike lock.

The building he stopped at was small café with a park at the back of it. He then entered the café and looked around for the people he was meeting.

And after a few moments he spotter the two people he was here to see, a mother and her son that sat in far corner by the entrance to the park.

The mother looked to be in her early-thirties with brown hair and hazel eyes, she wore dark blue jeans and a plain purple t-shirt, with black trainers.

Her son had the same shade of brown hair as her with blue eyes, and he wore black shorts, with a blue t-shirt with a shark design printed on it and a red baseball cap, with white and blue trainers.

As he walk over he saw the mother looked somewhat unsure, whilst her son looked giddy and unable to sit still.

"Hello, are you Mrs Wilson?" the young man asked the mother.

The mother looked up, slightly startled before responding. "Oh, yes, that me. And I take it you're William, right?"

"Yes, William Roberts, or just Will for short. I'm here to show Ben the rules of Bakugan." The young man, Will, answered.

At that Mrs Wilsons son, Ben, began bouncing in his seat even more than he already was. However his mother once again looks a bit more uncertain.

"Yes, that's what we agreed, but I'm not sure. Why isn't there any way for him to learn the rules online, why did we need to contact you about teaching him?" Mrs Wilson aked the questions she's had.

Will had an understanding look on his face and nodded before answering. "Those are all fair questions, but I do have some answers. First of all you won't find any real rules online because the Bakugan community is quite secretive and doesn't like people outside the community knowing to much about it. And in regards to you contacting me, as a result of the communities secretive nature new brawlers can be at a serious disadvantage when starting and they can be targeted by meaner brawlers for easy victories, something I really hate."

Mrs Wilson looked surprised by his answers before nodding in acceptance. She knew he was meant to be a good teacher due to the reviews about him, both online and from the parents of other kids he's taught.

"Please mum, let him teach me!" Ben suddenly interjected, getting the attention of both Will and his mother.

She looked from her son the will she sighed and answered. "Okay, please teach him the rules he's been begging to learn for weeks."

Her answer was all Ben needed as he jumped out of seat and rush over to Will. "Let's go, let's go, let's go." He said at rapid speed.

Will simply chuckled and make his way over to the door to the park before responding. "Well, if you're that excited, let get started"

With that Will opened the door and waited for Ben to go through before following him.

The two of them seemed to be to the only ones in the park at the moment, so Will went over to the far side of the park that gave more privacy. "Okay, so let's see what Bakugan you've got."

Ben immediately stuck his hand into his pocket and pulled out a mainly blue Bakugan with yellow and light blue accents and red spot in the centre.

Will saw this and smiled. "Good, you only brought one like I said to." Will then pulled out his own Bakugan that was maily sand with brown and orange accents.

Bens eyes became, almost, comically wide with excitement as he began bouncing around.

"Well let's get started then." Will said as he pulled out what looked to be a completely black card that had a large white circle that had six different coloured circles within it, with each coloured circle having a different emblem within it.

Ben quickly pulled out his own version of the exact same card.

Will grinned before asking. "You know what to do right?"

"Yeah!" Ben immediately responded.

""Field Open!"" Both of said as their cards began to glow, Wills glowed orange as Bens glowed blue.

Around them the world slowed to a crawl until time itself came to a stop and the glow from the card flared and enveloped them.

As the glowing dulled and faded away the area around the two was completely different, with there now being a large gap between them . As Ben looked down he saw that he was now standing on sand, he looked around and saw he was on a rocky beach with them even seeming to be by the sea.

"Woah." This was the only thing Ben could say. 'I always heard that the world around changed when brawling, but I didn't think it was so literal.'

"Pretty cool, huh." Wills was sounded right next to him causing Ben to spin around and see Wills face on a small, seemingly, holographic screen next to him.

"What.." Was all Ben could say as he looked at the hologram is shock.

"This is called the 'brawler comms', it's how battling brawlers talk to one another when needed. To active it all you need to do is concentrate on it." Will explain to the new brawler.

Will then had to stifle a laugh at Ben look of complete amazement. 'Oh man. This kid hasn't seen anything yet.' He then properly began his lesson.

"Now then Ben, welcom to the 'Bakugan Battlefield'. This is where all brawls take place, but it doesn't always look like this. The field changes in accordance to the attributes of the bakugan brawling here, meaning because I'm a Subterra brawler and you're an Aquos brawler, our battlefield is large rocky beach. Perfect for both our Bakugan." Will explained to the young boy, as he has too many other new brawlers.

Ben simply nodded his head, following what Will was telling him, but also still being completely amazed by everything around him.

Will simply snorted in amusement as this was to be expected, but he knew a surefire way to fix it.

"But before we continue there is one thing we need to do," This got Ben to focus on Will "we need to bring out our Bakugan." Will finished with a smile.

This make Bens excitement to come flooding back, as be began to almost vibrate.

"Allow me to demonstrate." Will said as he readied his Bakugan and through it out.

"Bakugan Brawl!" Will shouted as he launched his Bakugan.

After the Bakugan flew several feet it began to bounce of the ground, twice, before Will called out. "Bakugan stand!"

The Bakugan immediately opened and exploded into a mass of orange light. As the light faded a giant creature stood in place of the thrown ball.

"Come forth, Subterra Cordem!" Will called out to his Bakugan partner.

Coredem, was a large gem and stone Bakugan, that was primarily brown and sand in colour with orange line accents and a blue lense in the centre of his chest and green eyes. It had powerful blocky hands and feet, with robe like stones around its waist, and what seemed to be a tall hemlet on his head.

Ben look up at Coredem in complete awe, as the Bakugan simply looked out over the battlefield.

"Okay, your turn." Will told him.

Ben needed no more prompting as he immediately threw his own Bakugan with all his might.

"Bakugan Brawl!!" Ben exclaimed with absolute joy. Though his Bakugan didn't really go as far as Wills.

After his Bakugan bounced off the ground for the first tim Ben called out "Bakugan stand!!"

His Bakugan then opened and exploded into a mass of blue light. As the light faded a very different creature stood there.

"Say hello to Aquos Splight!!" Ben exclaimed with absolute happiness at seeing his Bakugans true form for the first time.

Splight wasn't as tall or as bulky as Coredem, but it seemed to look quicker and more agile in comparison.

Splight looked almost like a knight with primarily blue armour, of different shades, yellow accents, as well as red eyes and a red spot in the centre of its chest. It also had a somewhat tall helmet and long pauldrons, with no real hands and instead gauntlets with three claws that had shields attached to the back of them.

At seeing his own Bakugans true form for the first time Ben simply stared at it with absolute amazement, as his mouth hung wide open and his eyes seemed to sparkle.

"Yeah." Will said as he saw Ben look of absolute joy. "I know that feeling."

After taking a moment to remember the first time he saw Cordem in all its glory Will got back on task.

"Now, back to the lesson." He announced, getting Bens attention back on him.

Will then raised his right arm, showing what looked like a fitness tracking watch that was primarily orange, with 100CP being displayed on the screen.

"This is called a Core Band, this is what allows brawlers to activate their Bakugans abilities." began explaining to the new brawler. "Look at you wrist you have one as well."

Ben immediately looked at his right arm and saw the same kind of watch on his wrist as well, however his was primarily blue.

"Now. I'm gonna activate an ability as a demonstration, then your gonna activate one as well." Will told Ben as he looked at the older boy in surprise.

"Ability activate: Palte Shield!" Will exclaimed as his screen of his Core Band flashed orange.

Coredem immediately responded, as the blue lense in the centre of his chest flashes orange and a large round shield, the completely protected him, of orange energy formed in front of him.

Ben stared at the display of power in wonder before hearing Will cough, reminding him it was his turn.

"Right! Uh, ability activate: Trident Lancer!" Ben called out the first ability he could think of.

From Splights gauntlets three blades of glowing blue energy extended, Splight then rushes Coredem and thrust the blades on its arm into the shield, which shook from the impact but was completely undamaged otherwise.

Ben looked both realy confused and disappointed by Splights ability doing nothing to the shield.

"Sorry, but I'm afraid it'll more than that to break Coredems Plate Shield." Will explained. "But that was still a good pick for your first ability." He then complemented the younger boy.

"Now take another look at your Core Band." Will told him.

Ben was a bit confused but did as he was told, he was surprised to see the number on the Bands screen had changed from 100CP to 50CP now.

"What?" Ben questioned as he didn't know what this meant for Splight.

"Don't worry that's not Splights health or anything." Will began explaining, as he'd seen that confusion before.

"Your Core Band keeps track of your Core Points, or CP for short. These are used as the cost for activating your ability, we both just used level 1 abilities so we each lost 50CP as a result." Will began explaining to Ben.

"Level?" Ben questioned, not being familiar with that.

"Bakugan abilities come in different levels and each level costs a different amount of CP. Level 1 abilities cost 50CP, level 2 abilities cost 100CP, and level 3 abilities cost 150CP." Will explained to the younger boy.

Ben went over this new information in his head before realising something. "But I only had 100CP to use, so I couldn't use a level 3 ability." He wondered with a confused frown.

Will simply smirked at this and pointed to his left, Ben looked where he pointed and that's when he saw something interesting. It looked like a orb of rainbow light, about the size of a tennis ball, hovering in the air. But the more Ben looked around the more of these orbs of light he noticed scattered around the battlefield.

"Those are Core Motes, each and everyone of them is worth either 50 or 100CP. You need to make contact with them in order for your band to absorb them and use them for abilities." Will answered Bens unasked questions.

Ben once again went over this new information in head so he could memorise all of it.

"Now, since we've gone over all the base information, what do you say we carry on with our brawl and finish going over the rules when we're done." Will suggested with a knowing smirk.

Bens attention was immediately refocused onto Splight, who was simply waiting for his word, as Coredems shield was still standing strong.

"Okay then. Ability activate: Surging Crash!" Ben called out as his band glowed blue once again.

A glowing blue aura suddenly burst out of Splights body as he glided across the ground at high speeds before shoulder crashing into Coredems Plate Shield.

Coredems shield still held up, but this time Splight was able to crack it.

"Very good, but now you're out if CP." Will informed Ben, before seeing that the younger boy was already running of to collect the closest motes.

"Clever." Will couldn't help but admit with a smile before making his own move. "Ability activate: Core Knuckle!" Coredems shield then fades away in response to a new ability being activated.

Coredem clenches his fists and they begin to glow with orange energy, before throwing two punches that launch a large sphere of orange energy, from each fist, at Splight.

Splight managed to skillfully evade the first part of the attack, but he is hit directly by the second part and knocked backwards and onto the ground.

As soon as Will sees the attack land he rushes of the collect some motes as well.

Ben reaches out and absorbs a mote into his Core Band, and seeing that the mote gave him 100CP and that his Bakugan was just taken down he chose to go on the defensive. "Ability activate: Vortex Dome!"

With that Splight jumped to his feet before a large protective dome of whirling blue energy forms around him.

Seeing this Will smiles at Bens decision. "Good call." He compliments as he also makes contact with a mote, seeing that he got 50CP.

"This can work." Will says as he begins to formulate a plan, as he ran towards another close mote. As soon as he made contact with it Will saw that he gained another 50CP, bringing him back to 100CP, his plan was solidified.

"Consecutive abilities activate: Rock Eruption, followed by, Core Knuckle!" Will announced as Ben had just reached another mote.

'Consecutive abilities?!' Ben wondered in absolute shock.

The ground beneath Splights feet suddenly flashed orange before a cluster of rocks and large stones erupted upwards into him. As the destroyed Splights barrier and sent him into the air, Cordem once again punch two spheres of energy, this time both sphere him Splight dead centre.

After both sphere collided with Splight, he began to glow blue before shifting back into a mass of blue energy before finally transforming back into his ball form and returning to Ben.

Will simply stood still with a shocked look of realisation on his face. 'That might have been a bit too much.' Will thought to himself in embarrassment.

Suddenly, Coredem transformed back into his ball form as well, before the battlefield once again flared with rainbow light.

However, Will noticed a streak of blue energy shoot towards Ben. 'Interesting.' Will couldn't help but wonder as he smiled at the younger boys luck.

As the light faded, Will and Ben found themselves back in the park they started in.

Looking at Bens face it was easy for Will to see his downcast and disappointed look, but before he could say anything to cheer him up a new voice cut in.

"Uh, where am I?" A voice that was very groggy and filled with confusion, and it seemed to be coming from Bens pocket.

Suddenly another Aquos Bakugan shot out of Bens pocket flew up to his eye level and opened before speaking against.

"Who are you? Where am I? How did I get here?" The new Bakugan rapid fired questions to the new and stunned brawler.

"Uh, I..." As Ben was floundering for a response Splight suddenly opened within his hand and shot in front of the new Bakugan, getting its undivided attention.

All of a sudden Splight began to circle the new Bakugan and seemingly communicate with it, without any words.

"What the?.. Hmm... I see... Interesting... Wha-Oh... Okay... I understand." The new Bakugan seemed to respond to whatever Splight was telling it before it refocused its attention back on the confused Ben.

"Alright then... human, I guess you're my new partner. My name is Aquos Tristar and with me by your side, no one else stands a chance." The new Bakugan, Tristar, proclaimed.

"Tristar. A talking Bakugan." Was all Ben could say as he stared at his new partner, before releasing something. "Wait, Splight you can talk."

"In a sense all Bakugan can talk, but not all of them can speak with words like us. Most of them seem to talk by sensing energy from each other." Will informed the young boy, getting his attention.

Will smiled as Ben and both of his Bakugan stared at him in surprise. "Coredem say hello." Will said as his Bakugan flew out his hand before opening.

"Hello. Welcome the earth Tristar." Coredem spoke with a deep and calm voice.

Ben was once again completely stunned he'd heard rumours of talking Bakugan but he never thought he'd actually meet one, let alone have one for a partner.

"Well I think we're gonna need another lesson about Bakugan. A more crucial one." Will said as he knew this kid really did just entered into a whole new world of problems.

However on the other side of the city, within a secluded alleyway two flashes of light, one green and one yellow, flared and died down.

In place of those lights were two people, both of whom looked about the same age as Will.

The first was a young woman with shoulder-length purple hair and bright emerald green eyes. She wore blue jeans with a yellow blouse and a white denim jacket and white high tops.

The second was a young man with dark blue hair tied back into a short ponytail and sapphire blue eyes. He wore black jeans with a grey polo shirt and a simple green jacket with green high tops.

Two bakugan then flew up and opened in front of them, one being white with yellow and light blue accents, while the other was green with yellow accents.

"Is this the right place Aranaut?" The young woman asked the white Bakugan, Aranaut.

"I'm certain this is the right world, but not the exact location Princess." Aranaut informed the young woman, with a strong voice full of authority.

"Can you sense anything Hawktor?" The young man question the green Bakugan, Hawktor.

"No. I don't sense any of the energy that's been transporting the Bakugan around us Lance." Hawktor informed the young man, with calm and reassuring voice.

The yound woman then looked out of the alley they were in and saw people walking around, minding their own business in peace.

"We need to investigate." She told Lance and the Bakugan, immediately getting their attention. 'We need to ensure this worlds safety from our conflict.' She thought to herself.

"We need to learn what these people know about the Bakugan, how they are being transported here, and whether or not the Gundalians have found this world yet." The young woman informed them.

The three of them simply bowed their heads in acknowledgement of her orders. "Understood Princess Kellina." The three responded in unison.
