Disclaimer: I don't own pokemon.

The sun was high in the sky over the Region of Sinnoh. The weather was warm as a gentle breeze blew through the small town of Star Born. Famously known for being one of the best spots to see shooting stars. It was a popular tourist spot especially to those with love for astrology. It also had a history with the wish making pokemon Jirachi who was said to had arrived when during a star shower a meteor crashed down in the outside the town before it was built, Jirachi had helped the people in the construction of the town before it had vanished without a trace in memory and gratitude to their friend, the townspeople decided the name the Star Born Town in honor of Jirachi they had built a statue in memory.

Ash, Brock, and Dawn have stayed at the Pokemon Center the previous night they were able to catch sight of few shooting stars along with the rest of the town, they did notice that the town had a lot of people coming into town the previous day but now there were more people then the previous day.

"That was amazing, I still can't believe we saw all those shooting stars while also having a comfy bed." Dawn smiled with excitement, not forgetting the previous night. "It was cool, amazing and romantic."

"Piplup pip." Piplup agreed with his trainer.

"Yeah with these small towns you never know what unique experience you will find." Brock added, as they walked out of the pokemon center

"It was cool." Ash said.

"You guys notice there's more people here today than yesterday?" Dawn stated, as they looked around seeing that there were more people than before.

Ash and Brock nodded in unison, when they arrived there were alot of people in the town already, it was a famous tourist spot, with the shooting stars that happened the day before however they did notice that there were alot more people than before.

"I wonder why there's so many people?" Ash asked, seeing all crowds of people passing by.

"Don't know." Brock shrugged, it was a popular tourist spot for star gazers, but a lot of people just see stars.

"They must be here to get their wish granted." Ash said, hands behind his head. "I know mine will."

"Oh really? What did you wish for?" Dawn asked curiously.

Ash just chuckled before looking up at the sky. "What else? To be the greatest pokemon trainer." Ash answered.

"Pika pika." Pikachu smiled

"I wish to be the world's best coordinator." Dawn smiled.

"I would like to meet a beautiful woman like Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny." Brock said with a goofy smile, but his body froze up, as Crogunk appeared out of his pokeball and used his poison jab on him. "C-come on, I wasn't even flirting!" Brock said through gritted teeth before falling to the ground.

Both Ash and Dawn shook their heads, they should have known Brock would have wished for beautiful women.

"Hey!" a familiar voice called out.

Ash and Dawn turned to see who it was but Ash had collided with them as he fell to the ground. "Dang it!" Ash grumbled as he looked at Barry, seeing him all the way out here was surprising.

Barry shot to his feet and pointed at Ash. "Hey, just for that I'm fining you 100000 poke dollars!"

"Barry?! What are you doing here?" Dawn asked.

"Oh hey guys, fancy bumping into you." Barry said with a smile.

"Yeah… literally." Ash said as he got back to his feet and straightened his hat.

"Sorry about that." Barry apologized, rubbing the back of his head. "But I'm kinda in a rush."

Brock, who had finally recovered from Crogunk's poison jab, stood up. "Why are you in a rush?" Brock asked curiously.

"Wait, aren't you guys here for the match too?" Barry asked, confused.

The trio looked at each other wondering what Barry was even talking about. "What match Barry?" Ash asked.

"You guys haven't heard?! Seriously! Why else would you be here?! At this exact time!" Barry gasped in shock, he looked at them as if they were dense

"Would you please just tell us what you're talking about?" Dawn said, starting to get annoyed by all the yelling.

"You must be out of the loop DD if you haven't heard." Another familiar voice which made Dawn angry they all turned to see Keeny, Dawn's childhood friend and contest rival. "You guys are here and you don't know what is about to happen?"

"Kenny? You're here too?" Dawn said while also annoyed with the nickname he used for her.

Kenny just grinned. "Yeah no way I'm gonna miss seeing a battle like this in person."

"Battle?" Ash questioned, this was the first time he heard of this.

"You really must be pathetic if you don't even know the match that is happening in this town?" Everyone turned to Paul standing several feet away and looking as charming as ever. "How long have you been in this town? If you have been here long enough you should know that Cynthia is going to be battling here today."

"Wait, Cynthia is going to battle here?" Dawn asked, surprised by this announcement.

"Yeah she is doing an exhibition match against another champion from a different region." Kenny explained.

"Really?" Ash said in surprise.

"Pika." Pikachu was also surprised.

"Hmm, I've heard of this, once every few years two selected regions pit their two strongest trainers against each other to show the strength of their respective regions." Brock hummed.

"Yeah, but the location is kept secret until two weeks beforehand so the two champions can prepare in private." Paul explained, before huffing.

"I can't believe you guys, just came to this town and didn't even know about this event?!" Barry shouted, waving his hands around.

"Hey cut us some slack." Ash frowned.

Brock looked at Ash and just shrugged."I guess we're just fortunate."

Ash nodded. "Which champion is Cynthia facing?" Ash asked only see Paul was gone

"Why does that not surprise me." Dawn said annoyed by Paul disappearance

"I can answer your question." a new voice said. They all turned to see Conway.

"Conway? Are you here for this match?" Dawn asked.

"I wouldn't miss a chance to study two champions from different regions." Conway said, fixing his glasses which flashed with light, before turning to Ash and Brock. "You two should be happy, your region is the one that was selected to face Cynthia."

"Really?" Ash asked but smiled. "Awesome!" he said, pumping his fist.

"So who is the champion from where you are from?" Dawn asked the two

"Lance, assuming nothing changed after I left." Brock said

"We've met and helped out Lance many times." Ash smiled.

"Really? You guys know a champion?!" Barry exclaimed, feeling jealous.

"No way." Kenny expressed jealousy.

"Whoa you got to tell me that story later but could he really beat Cynthia?" Dawn asked

"Well I run the calculations taking in fact his most commonly used Pokemon along with Pokemon he has that have advantage against Cynthia main team she favors. After running a few hundred simulations that ran various possible ways the battle could go it came to conclusion that he has under twenty three percent chance of winning with over fifty percent of his defeats having more than half his team being taken out by Cynthia Garchomp." Conway said, pushing his glasses up after finishing his explanation.

"Hey, don't sell Lance out, calculations and typing doesn't always matter." Ash said defending Lance, he saw what Cynthia's Garchop did to Paul's pokemon and he knew Lance was in for a good fight but he knew Lance could do it.

"Well, the thing is HE isn't battling against her." Conway said as his glasses shocked the others.

"Say what?!" Barry shouted, losing his balance almost falling over.

"Are you sure?" Brock asked.

"Well I did some digging and as of yesterday I can confirm he hasn't left Kanto, rather he seems to be attending to matters in the league." Conway explained

"But wait isn't he supposed to battle her, he is the champion right?" Dawn asked.

"Well here's the thing of the battle ANY champion can complete as long as they've been a champion of that region and remained a resident of the region that includes former champions." Conway explained

"So you're saying that they could choose a former champion to battle Cynthia?" Ash asked, he wondered who it could be.

"Yes, and I believe Lance had recommended someone, but that is something… I wasn't able to gather anything on them like they're a phantom from the past." Conway answered.

"A g-ghost?" Barry shuttered in fear.

"It's a figure of speech Barry." Kenny told the boy.

"But ghost isn't a bad way to describe them, it's like they've been hiding out for the last decade cause I couldn't find anything about the other champion team and year they won." Conroy said finding their mystery battler intriguing but… Using what I found putting in my simulation and assuming they are using the team they won along with working under the assumption he kept said team in the same state he had during his win. They have a ten percent chance of winning with most simulations ending with Garchomp sweeping over their team single handle." Conway said

"Well we can't assume that Cynthia will just win single handedly, a pokemon battle can go either way and given that this former champion is on the same level as her, we can not be too certain until we watch the battle ourselves." Brock said.

"Ohhh, I can't wait." Barry said, bending at the knees. "I wonder who it is?"

"Are you all done talking to yourselves?" a new voice spoke up, they all turned to Zoey.

"Zoey? I didn't think you would come to watch a pokemon battle." Dawn said, knowing Zoey's rivalry with pokemon trainers.

"Heh, like I would miss a chance to see the champions battle, Cynthia is one of the best female pokemon trainers in the world and even if I'm a coordinator, I look up to her as if I'm missing this." Zoey grinned, as she turned her back to the others. "Come on, if we go now we'll be able to get good seats."

The others looked at each other and nodded before they followed Zoey to where the battle would take place, to Ash, Dawn and Brock's surprise there was a stadium just outside the outskirts of Star Born Town, and they could see thousands of people going into the stadium.

"How long has this been here?" Ash asked, his eyes widened in surprise.

"Pika." Pikachu uttered.

"We've only stayed here one night Ash, and like Paul said the match was kept secret for two weeks which actually gives them enough time to construct a stadium like this." Brock told his friend.

"Look at all the people." Barry said looking at all the people going into the stadium. "Man, this event is going to be awesome."

"Let's go, before all the seats are taken." Kenny said, as he, Zoey, Conway and Barry who ran like a mad man made their way into the stadium.

"We should go too." Dawn smiled, wanting to get a good seat as well.

"Pipup." Piplup nodded

Ash, Pikachu and Brock nodded as well. "Ash, Brock, Dawn." The three turned to see that Gary was here as well but to Ash's shock so were his mom and Prof. Oak.

"Gary, mom and Professor Oak… Why are you here?" Ash asked. He didn't expect to see his former rival, his mom and the Professor here, Gary he can somewhat understand since he was in the region doing research but his mom and Professor Oak could have watched it from back in Pallet Town.

"Finally decided to make it huh Ashy-boy?" Gary grinned.

"Hey honey, I see you and your friends made it." Delia smiled, she was happy to see her son.

"But why are you two here? Wouldn't you be able to watch it back in Pallet?" Ash asked.

"We wanted to see this battle for ourselves." Professor Oak explained.

"We wanted to surprise you." Delia told Ash.

"Really? Do you know who's going to be battling Cynthia?" Dawn asked she wasn't sure if they would even know, and if Conway, a boy who has practically all data on everything couldn't then what could they really know.

"That's a secret." Professor Oak smiled, "Trust me you'll be surprised."

"You know who it is?" All three asked at the same time in shock, not believing what they were hearing.

"You never told me you know." Gary told his grandpa, he was equally as shocked as the others.

"Who is it?" Ash asked, feeling very giddy.

Delia just giggled at her son's enthusiasm, she placed her finger to her lips. "It's a secret son, you'll just have to wait and see."

"Let's all head inside. The match will begin soon." Prof. Oak told them.

Soon they all went inside, Ash, Dawn and Brock saw that it was just like a traditional pokemon league stadium with many rows filled, they could see it might take time for them to even find seats.

"Hey! Ash, Dawn, Brock." Barry's voice rang out, the group looked to see Barry, Kenny, Zoey and Conway were sitting in a row together. "We've saved you some seats!"

"Alright, no need to look around." Dawn happily pumped her fist.

"Let's go." Ash grinned.

"Pika Pi." Pikachu nodded.

The group moved over to where the others were. Luckily, there was enough room for Gary, Delia and Prof. Oak which Conway quickly noticed.

"Professor Oak, I never thought I would meet you, in person." Conway smiled. "I've read all your books about pokemon, you are definitely one of the most brilliant pokemon researchers of our time."

Prof. Oak just chuckled with amusement. "I wouldn't say most brilliant, but I do know my way around pokemon." Prof. Oak told Conway.

"And aren't you Gary Oak, the poet?" Zoey asked not thinking she would ever meet either Oak.

"I dabble in a little poetry." Gary grinned, flattered.

"Oh, yes, he spoke a poem to us when we parted ways." Dawn smiled.

"No shit." Zoey said, as she and Dawn began to talk about the poem..

"Girls…" Kenny groaned, hearing Zoey and Dawn talk about poetry.

"And they are giving Gary a bigger head." Ash muttered.

"I didn't think I would meet either of you two! My name is Barry." Barry said, with excitement in his voice.

"It's nice to meet you." Prof. Oak told Barry reminded him of Ash when he first arrived at his lab.

"Hey, I think they are going to start the announcement." Delia spoke up, getting everyone's attention as they looked down at the field.

Elsewhere in the stadium, Paul watched the field from several seats above. Much like the others wondered who Cynthia would be facing, he knew the current champion was Lance with how Cynthia was able to thoroughly beat him and his pokemon. From what he knew of Lance he wouldn't be able to beat her, he then saw the referee walking onto the field.

Standing in the middle of the stadium was a man with blond hair wearing a black suit, red tie and black sunglasses, he held a microphone to his mouth and began to talk. "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the annual Region Champion Battle!" the announcer called out, the crowd erupted into cheers. "This match is to show the strength, skill and cunning, of the champions of the regions!"

"From the Red Corner is the champion of the Sinnoh Region, Cynthia." the announcer shouted

Coming out of the red corner was Cynthia walking to the ring, she smiled calmly as she awaited for the her opponent

"From the Blue Corner is the former Champion of the Kanto Region, Red." the announcer said.

The entire stadium went silent upon the announcement, coming out of the blue corner was a man wearing a red baseball cap with a white circle in the middle. He wears a long white cape over a red jacket with a black t-shirt, blue jeans and red and white sneakers.

The stadium then erupted into cheers, Cynthia looked over at Red, generally surprised, Lance had informed her that he had selected the perfect trainer that would give her the battle of her life and she could see that he wasn't kidding.

The blond woman grinned. 'This is a battle I've been waiting for.' Cynthia thought she was starting to feel her blood pump from the excitement about facing a legend.

In the stands, the others who knew who Red was were surprised to hear he was Cynthia's opponent.

"Incredible, I can't believe it, Red… The Red, He's Cynthia's challenger." Conway said in absolute disbelief, but now it all made sense. "He hasn't been seen in 7 years, disappearing completely without a word. No wonder I couldn't find data on him."

"Wait? 7 years?" Barry asked in shock. "He hasn't been seen for that long. Is he really that good?"

"Absolutely, I have studied his many battles before, and the best way I can describe him is he is a tactical anomaly; he has won battles that shouldn't have been possible given circumstances he has been called a tactical genius. I have nothing on what pokemon he uses now this could be a once in lifetime opportunity. Dammit I need to get a proper recording of this" Conway said as fractionally searched his bag for what he needed. With a lack of data he wasn't really able to gauge Red's current skill level compared to Cynthia's So he needs to ensure he captures as much data on his Pokemon as he can.

"Is he the surprise?" Dawn asked Prof. Oak.

Professor Oak crossed his arms and nodded. "Yes, I've known Richard since he was 11 when he first began as a trainer." Professor Oak answered. "He is one of the best trainers our region has to offer."

"Unreal, this is going to be great." Kenny smiled and he was looking forward to this.

"Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I can't wait for the battle to start!" Barry shouted, barely able to contain his excitement.

Gary had heard legends of Red, from his parents and his grandpa, in fact his dad said Red was his rival of his back in the day, he was looking forward to seeing if those stories were true.

"Cynthia isn't a pushover, I know she can pull it off." Zoey said she had faith in Cynthia; she was one of the most powerful trainers in the world, but from what she heard about Red made him out like he was in a league of his own; she wasn't really sure what the outcome would be.

Paul narrowed his eyes, Red, he had heard of him a few times on his journey, they say he hadn't been seen for 7 years and no one has seen or heard from him since he retired as champion of Kanto and now after all these years he is here and ready to battle Cynthia. Paul was now more invested in this match, he would get to see two of the best trainers in the world battle and see if he lives up to his legend.

Brock crossed his arms, he had read about Red and his accomplishments his dad once told him about how Red had beaten him in battle even at a disadvantage, this was a once-in-a-lifetime battle that he was glad not to miss. Brock then looked over to Ash who seemed to be out of it, normally Ash would be excited to see a match like this but he was unusually quiet.

"Ash, are you ok?" Brock asked with some concern.

Ash didn't answer as he continued to look at Red. "Ash, hey are you there?" Dawn asked, seeing Ash had not responded to Brock.

"Pika…" Pikachu patted Ash's head trying to get the trainer to respond.

"Is he ok?" Zoey asked with some concern of her own.

"Yo Ash, are you fine?" Barry asked.

"He's my… dad." Ash simply answered.

"Whatt?!" everyone but Delia, Prof. Oak and Gary shouted in shock.

"He's your dad." Brock said in shock.

"You can't be serious." Conway questioned, he has studied Red many times however it was never said he got married or had kids, hearing that Ash was Red's son was the biggest surprise he heard.

"You never told us about your father." Dawn said she couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"I never really felt like talking about him. I haven't seen him in 7 years." Ash remarked, he barely remembered his dad, the old man just up and left on the training journey he never came home or even called him or mom.

"He left on a training trip, and I guess he still can't tell time right," Delia said with a sarcastic smile.

"Indeed." Professor Oak said while nodding with his eyes closed.

"Far out, and people thought my dad being a frontier brain was crazy." Barry said, crossing his arm.

"Wait? Your dad is a frontier brain?" Zoey asked in surprise.

"Shush, the referee is about to speak." Dawn shushed Zoey.

Not far from them, Jessie, James and Meowth who were lucky to get a job selling snacks heard what they had heard. "Can you believe it? The twerp's dad is the former champion." Meowth whispered to Jessie and James.

"No wonder he beat us time and time again…." James muttered while frowning.

"Oh, shut up." Jessie said while glaring at them.

"What are three doing to get back to work!" a big man wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans shouted, Team Rocket immediately began giving out refreshments while trying to keep an eye on the battle.

"This match will be a six-on-six no-holds bar battle. Both trainers are allowed to make substitutions in battle; the match will end when either side's Pokemon are unable to battle." The official explained the rules.

Above the stadium a large screen came to life, as Cynthia and Red's images appeared on them with an orange background with six Pokeballs appearing to the side of both images.

Red closed his eyes and drowned out the cheering and the rules as he thought back to two weeks before.

flashback

Red was sitting down at the top of mount silver, his eyes closed and arms crossed as the cold winds blew through his hair. He had been up here for who knows how long, a training trip soon turned into a mid life crisis being one of the best trainers in the world came with a few downsides, the main one is being too good that no one could truly challenge you, so he remained in isolation not even contacting his own wife nor his son.

"Rai, Rai?" A Raichu moved up next to him and rubbed its head against his side.

Red turned to Raichu and smiled. "I'm fine Pika, just… thinking…" Red said as he petted his friend on the head, which Pika enjoyed.

Pika's ears perked up, turning around getting on all four with sparks of electricity coming from its cheek pouches. Red stood up and turned to see a familiar face, the former champion of the world gestured for Pika to stand down which the electric rodent did.

"I didn't expect you to find me, Lance." Red grinned.

Lance smiled as the wind blew both mens capes. "If I can find an evil team that works in secret I can find a missing World Champion."

Red frowned slightly world champion… Former World Champion would be more accurate ever since he 'vanished' a man named Leon was named world champion in his place which he didn't mind.

"Why are you here?" Red asked, as he walked over to the campfire that was still burning, he sat down on a log with Pika sitting down next to him, Lance walked over and sat on the other side of Red as both men looked into the crackling flames.

"It's an annual regional exhibition match. Our region and Sinnoh have been selected, I'm supposed to be battling Cynthia, the current champion of Sinnoh, in 2 weeks." Lance told the former champion.

"Heh, I heard on the wind she's as tough as they come." Red smiled as he poked the fire with a stick. "However, you wouldn't be here just to tell me that right?"

Lance just chuckled. "Yep, look I have reason to believe Team Rocket is expanding its reach, after the Johto incident, they are planning to do something in the Unova Region. I don't know what it is yet, but my mole has told me it's big."

Red just looked at Lance, as the dragon champion continued. "That's why I'm here, I can't represent Kanto with this development, but the rules said that any previous champion who lives in Kanto can act as representative." Lance finished.

Red just sighed, shaking his head. "I don't know Lance." He hasn't been off Mount Silver in years ever since battling lost it spark for him, cause of that he wasn't really sure of how to face the world in the match, especially if Ash was there, he wondered if Ash would hate him for leaving him and his mother/his wife who might end up hitting him with a frying pan.

Lance just looked at an old friend with a calm yet serious expression. "I know, you've been in a mid-life crisis and feel like you lost your battling spirit. But staying up here isn't going to fix it. A pokemon battle against Cynthia might be what you need, and not only that, I met you son." Lance said, that got Red's attention.

"Gray?" Red muttered, he hadn't seen his son in so long. "I'm sure that 10 year old is having fun on his journey."

"Uh, Red, it's been seven years since you vanished off the face of the planet, that kid is probably 14 going on 15." Lance pointed out.

Red's eyes went wide at Lance's correction"14?!" Red fell off the log in shock.

"Rai, Rai…" Pika shook her head at her trainer's antics.

Red recovered and looked at Lance. "7 years and my son's 14, if Blue was here she would be scoffing at me and making fun of how I can't tell time." He felt so old now, his son was 14 he missed so many birthdays and what not.

Lance just laughed. "Yep, like father like son… anyway, I hear he's in sinnoh, which means he might go to see you match." Lance said as he stood up from the log and looked at his old friend with a serious expression. "So can you please take my place?"

Red looked at his friend, and down at Pika who had a determined expression. "Heh, tell Cynthia, she has her opponents and make sure you don't tell anyone it's me, except Delia and Oak, but I want this to be a secret." Red smiled, clenching his fist.

Flashback ended.

Red opened his eyes just as the announcer began to speak. "Let the battle begin!" he shouted.

"We've been looking forward to this match since Lance told us time to see if this trip is gonna be worth it, Come out Poli." Red shouted as he threw his pokeball which opened as a Poliwrath appeared who flexed his muscles

"Poliwrath!" Poli called out ready to battle.

"Poliwrath?" Dawn muttered, taking out her pokedex.

{Poliwrath, the Tadpole Pokémon. Poliwrath is an excellent swimmer and its powerful muscles make its attacks extremely effective}

"That's Red's first Pokemon, well before he got his real starter." Prof. Oak told them.

"Sure looks powerful," Kenny commented, he could tell that Poliwrath had been in many battles.

"Awesome! I can't wait to see it in action!" Barry shouted at the top of his lungs, he was barely able to hold in his expression.

"Mumm." Conway said seeing what the former champion has started with

"Let's see what Cynthia brings to the table." Zoey said having confidence in Cynthia winning, although she was curious about how Red will battle considering he hasn't been seen for 7 years she wondered if he had honed his skills or had gotten sloppy but the only way to know was to watch them battle..

"Let's go, Roserade!" Cynthia smiled tossing up into the air, in a flash of white light Roserade appeared in an elegant display.

"Roserade huh? Given it's a grass type, it should give Cynthia an advantage." Conway said, going over his calculations.

"That's true." Zoey agreed

"I wouldn't count Red or Poli out, just because of type disadvantage." Delia told them. "A real pokemon trainer finds a way to get around them."

"Sounds like you're talking from experience." Brock commented.

"Heh, you can say I ran in with a bad crowd and that's how I met Richard." Delia chuckled nervously as she rubbed the back of her head.

Paul looked down, he knew that Roserade had the advantage in typing however he could see that Red was unfazed by the choice, and could judge by how his Poliwrath held itself looked like it had been through many battles.

All over the world, people were watching the match on their TV, those in Kanto, Brock's family,. Misty and her water pokemon, LT Surge, Erika, Sabrina, her parents and Hunter, Koga and his daughter Janine, Blaine while on a plane flying away from Kanto, Giovanni scowled as he watched the match, even the elite four with the exception of Lance. May who was in Johto, the Jouto Leaders and elite four, the leaders and elite four from all over the world watched the battle and the return of Red, Leon the current world champion watched on his TV and smiled.

"Let the battle begin!" referee announced signaling start of this match.

"Well, better start off strong." Red commented. "Poli, Ice Beam!"

"Poli, Poliwrath." He shouted as he began charging up the attack before firing a blue beam from his chest at Roserade

"Roserade counter with Energy Ball!" Cynthia called.

"Rossserade!" Roserade called as it quickly charged up and energy ball and fired it at the incoming Ice Beam.

Both attacks collide with equal power and force the two pushed back and forth before exploding creating a smoke cloud.

"It's a draw." Ash muttered.

"Such power between both of them." Gary commented.

"Now use Brick Break." Red called out

Charging through the smoke cloud was Poli who had one of his arms outstretched with the fist covered in energy before he struck Roserade sending it skidding back before stopping slightly dazed.

"Quickly before it recovers, use Seismic Toss." Red said

Poli." Poli nodded as he rushed at Roserade and grabbed the rose Pokemon before he jumped in the air

"Quick, use Poison Jab!" Cynthia called out.

A poison spike appears out of one of Roserade's petals before jabbing it into Poli's gut. "Poli!" Poliwrath gasped in pain as he released Roserade who landed on the ground gracefully while he fell flat on his back holding his stomach.

"You alright?" Red asked

Poli turned and nodded but then flinched as his skin glowed purple for a second, Red knew what that meant Poli was poisoned.

Red held up his pokeball "Poli return. You did great but save your strength my friend."

"Ladies and Gentle it appears we have the first switch out of the match." the announcer said with excitement.

"Ah man, already a switch out." Dawn said in surprise.

"See, I told you Cynthia, got this battle." Zoey grinned.

"Don't count dad out yet. I know he has a way to win." Ash said, having complete confidence in his dad.

"Pika." Pikachu nodded.

Conway fixed his glasses. "Such an early switch could be a very telling sign." Conway said, some say you can tell so much about how the battle will go in the rounds to come from the switches.

"The match just started, it's obvious Red's going to need Poliwrath for later." Brock said.

Paul frowned, he didn't expect Red to switch out his pokemon so early into the match, he wanted to see what he could against Cynthia. Has vanishing for 7 years made him soft? 'This better not be a waste of my time.' Paul thought as he continued to watch the match.

"You need to do better than that if you want to win Red." Cynthia called out with a smile.

"Aero, let's go." Red shouted as he called out an Aerodactyl

Aero screeched as soon as he was let out as he spread his wings. "Aeroooo!" Aero screened at the top of his lungs.

"An Aerodactyl, now that's a pokemon." Kenny smiled with excitement, seeing the living fossil.

"Another he couldn't be could he?" Conway muttered to himself, double checking his computer and data.

"What Conway?" Dawn asked, wondering what he was muttering about.

'An Aerodactyl?' Cynthia thought, weighing her options. "Roserade Return," Cynthia said, returning Roserade to its Pokeball, before taking out another Pokeball.

"I choose you Spiritomb!" Cynthia called out, throwing it into the air.

In a flash of white light, the ghostly specter appeared onto the battlefield ready to face its opponent.

"Spiritomb, huh," Red muttered to himself. "We aren't afraid of no ghost right Aero?"

"Aero!" Aero screeched in agreement.

This time Cynthia was the one to start it off. "Spritomb! Shadow Ball!" Cynthia shouted.

"Spiritomb!" Spiritomb formed a ball of dark energy before firing it at Aero.

"Take to the sky!" Red called out.

With a flap of its wings, Aero flew at such high speeds it evaded the shadow ball, Cynthia looked in surprise Red's Aerodactyl was much faster than she first thought. 'Such speed, this will be interesting.' Cynthia thought with a smile.

"Talk about fast, I've never seen an aerodactyl move that fast." Gary said he had seen an Aerodactyl fly before back when he was studying, however Red's was much faster then he recorded.

Aero circled the arena keeping the ghost in sight waiting for his trainer's command. While Spiritomb was struggling to keep revived Pokemon in its sight.

"Spiritomb uses a mean look." Cynthia said having thought of a plan to deal with this speedy Pokemon.

Aero looked at the spector, looking into its eye's Aero shuttered feeling a cold sensation corset through him.

"Heh, Mean Look huh? I can see that Aero's speed has taken you by surprise, so if I guess you are trying to make sure I can't switch him out for hit and run." Red smiled with his eyes closed, knowing Cynthia was planning to lock Aero into battle so he couldn't switch out for another, he then opened them. "Let's take this up a notch and see how you handle this, Iron Head!"

"Aerro!" Aero called as he suddenly began to dive at high speeds, his body became encased with silver energy as he dived at Spiritomb.

Cynthia weighed her options, knowing at the speed Aerodactyl was traveling she knew it would be dangerous for it to be kept around. "Spiritomb Curse!" Cynthia shouted.

Spiritomb glared at the descending fossil as a wave of red energy coming out of its body traveled through the air and enveloped Aero who smashed into Spiritomb driving the spector deep into the ground picking up a huge dust cloud, Aero flew up out of the cloud finally dispensed revealing a defeated Spiritomb unconscious in a crater.

The announcer looked at the aftermath. "Spiritomb is unable to battle, the winner is Aero!"

The crowd began to cheer and clap for Red, as Cynthia returned Spiritomb and smiled.

"Looks like Red has scored the first knockout." Zoey said she didn't expect Aero to knock out Spiritomb in one shot.

"True but it wasn't just because of the attack." Conway pointed at Aero cringed in pain as a red aura appeared around him.

"Aero…" Red muttered, then he remembered. "Damn it, Mean Look and Curse… if i'm not careful, Aero will be down within a few hits."

'Not much you can do, Cynthia has you locked in.' Paul thought, seeing that Cynthia had planned ahead to take out one of Red's heavy hitters, Aerodactyal was both fast and power faster than most Pokemon he had seen in the past if left unchecked, it could be a huge threat to Cynthia's team.

"This is amazing! First Aerodactyal one-shots Spiritomb now Cynthia has countered. Oh man oh man!" Barry shouted with a big smile on his face.

"Let's see what Cynthia does now." Pro. Oak said, looking down at the battle.

"Gastradon, I choose you." Cynthia shouted, throwing the pokeball.

In a flash of light, the slug pokemon appeared ready for battle.

Red frowned slightly knowing what she was planning. 'So she gonna stall Aero out so that curse finished him off Red noticed his body beginning to shake? 'What is… am I getting excited?' For the first time in years was he having fun?

"Hehehehehe." Red began to chuckle before bursting out laughing. "Ahahahahahahah!"

This confused Cynthia along with everyone in the stands with Red's sudden laughing. "Oh man, It's been so long since I felt like this! The thrill, the excitement and Cynthia I thank you cause I'm having the time of my life." Red remarked.

"Heh, thanks, to tell you the truth you haven't been excited for a battle like this in a while. You definitely are providing a challenge though to be honest I was hoping little more"

"Hehehe, then let me tell you this." Red said, turning his baseball hat backwards. "Aero isn't my strongest pokemon."

"What?" Cynthia muttered in actual surprise.

It wasn't just her. The rest of the crowd was taken back by Red's sudden pronouncement.

"Aero isn't his strongest, I mean… he wasn't going all out?" Zoey said her eyes widened.

"Well that does match up to what my data says his strongest Pokemon at the time was a… Snorlax." Conway informed.

Hearing that Delia couldn't help but giggle. "What's so funny?" Dawn asked Delia, a little confused by why she was giggling.

"Nothing you will find out later." Delia said with a giggle.

Ash continued to look on, he was amazed by both his dad and Cynthia, he didn't think his dad would take out one of Cynthia's pokemon in just one shot but the boy smiled and he could wait to see what else his dad did.

Red didn't want to waste any time, he knew that Aero was on the clock. "Aero, Iron Head!" Red called out.

Aero once again took to the sky before he once again was engulfed in silver energy and dived at Gastrodon.

"Dig!" Cynthia called out.

"Gastra!" Gastrodon quickly dug into the ground just as Aero smashed head first into the ground kicking up a small dust cloud, once it dissipated Aero was seen trying to pull his head out of the ground.

"Aerooo!" Aero screeched as he tried to pull his head out of the ground.

"Oh no, Aero!" Red called out.

"Oh crap, Aero's head is stuck." Ash said.

"Quite a predicament," Conway stated. "Aero's speed and power from the impact backfired on them."

Cynthia grinned before calling out her next command. "Water Pulse!"

The hole around Aero's head flooded with water, as the living fossil was freed from his confinement with a spout of water pushing him into the air as he hit the ground with thud.

"Aero, are you fine?" Red asked.

Aero got to his feet and shook the water off, before he glared at Gastrodon who had just resurfaced. "Aero!" Aero screeched, still willing to battle.

"It'll take more than water to dampen our spirits." Red grinned, however he knew that another hit like that would end the battle.

"Stealth Rock!" Cynthia called out.

Rocks formed around Gastrodon's body before it launched them on Red's side of the field. Red frowned, knowing that he had another thing to worry about for later.

"Stealth Rock?" Dawn questioned.

"Stealth Rock is a move that damages the opponent wherever they switch pokemon." Gary answered.

"Cynthia is preparing for when Aero faints, the next pokemon Red switching out will be damaged." Conway said, finding Cynthia's strategy to be very clever.

"Talk about planning ahead." Kenny remarked.

"This is so awesome." Barry exclaimed.

Paul thought about the move Cynthia used, thinking it would be good to teach one of his Pokemon it, or a move similar to it

"Aero uses Ice Fang!" Red called out.

With a flap of its wings, Aero quickly yet wobbly took to the air and flew at Gastrodon, his teeth turning an icy blue. However from the damage combined damage of curse and water pulse had sapped most of Aero's speed.

"Dig once more!" Cynthia called out.

"No this time! Agility and Ice Fang!" Red called out.

Suddenly Aero's speed increased, almost becoming a blur, and before Gastrodon could dig, Aero smashed into the slug pokemon clapping down. Gastrodon bellowed in pain from both the Ice along with the momentum of Aero's descent, as it was encased in ice which shattered.

Aero backed off and flinched, as it looked over Gastrodon who had swirls in its eyes.

"Amazing, he combined both moves." Barry said with excitement.

"That felt like something Ash would do." Dawn stated, it was as if watching Ash battle.

Brock just grinned. "Guess, we know where he gets it from."

Ash just looked down, his dad had defeated two of Cynthia's pokemon.

"Gastrodon is unable to battle, the victor is Aerodactyl." the referee announced pointing at Aero.

"Aero…" Aero bellowed and to everyone's surprise the fossil pokemon fell hitting the ground with a hard thud.

"Aerodactyl is also unable to battle." the referee announced

"I didn't expect that." Zoey stated.

"So two to one, Red is still in the lead." Brock remarked.

"Yeah, but remember Red still has a pokemon who is poison so technically they are even." Gary stated

"But Red also has to worry about the effect of Stealth Rock now." Prof. Oak frowned.

"Things are going to keep heating up." Kenny said.

At that time in Lumiose City a family was watching the battle between both Red and Cynthia. One was a man with brown hair wearing a black shirt under khaki overalls, sitting next to him was a blond boy the same age as Ash wearing glasses with a sky blue jumpsuit. On the other side of the man was a woman with long blond hair that down to her waist tied in a Ponyta tail she wore a tattered straw hat she were a black long with yellow jeans, on her lap was a little girl who looked like a younger version of the woman she wore a black shirt with white leggings and she looked to enjoying the battle.

"Look at mom, both of them are awesome. I wish I could get a pokemon." the little girl pouted.

The woman smiled as she rubbed her daughter's head. "You'll get one one day Bonnie, but you'll have to wait." she told her daughter as she looked at the screen.

'Come on Red, I know you can do it. You've always come through in the end.' the woman thought.

Red and Cynthia returned their respective pokemon as they both thought about their next play. 'With Stealth Rock in play, I need to think about my next move carefully.' Red thought before finally making a decision "Come on out Snor!" Red shouted as he threw his pokeball which released a Snorlax who flexed his muscles and was eager to battle

At that point, four pillars of rock rose up and crashed into Snor but he didn't appear to be affected at all by the damage, shrugging it off.

"It didn't even flinch from the Stealth Rocks." Barry muttered.

"Snorlax…" Snor yawned, while scratching his belly as if nothing had happened.

"Looks like Richard is going for a drawn-out battle." Delia said. "Snor is as strong as he is durable so he has drawn out battles to the point he becomes an unscalable mountain, Cynthia is in for the long haul with this battle." Wondering what she do now.

'Snorlax huh?' Cynthia thought, making her choice. "Lucario, go! " Throwing out her next pokemon.

In a flash of white light the aura pokemon appeared ready to battle.

"Looks like Cynthia is going for speed, and since Lucario is part fighting type it might give her an edge. Along with steel giving some defense to take a few hits" Conway said, as he typed on his laptop.

"Alright, Snor, Fire Punch, let'er rip." Red shouted

Snorlax." Snor roared as one of his fists burst into flames before he charged at Lucario, despite how big he was, Snor was light on his feet.

"Dodge!" Cynthia called out.

Lucario with his superior speed, leaped over the flaming punch. "High Jump Kick!" Cynthia called out.

"Quickly use Defense Curl," Red shouted

Lucario thrusted his knee against Snor; however, just before the knee made contact, he tightened his body's muscles, hardening his entire body and making it as strong as stone. A shockwave was felt from the conflicting attack and defense, Lucario jumped away skidding back a few feet before coming to a stop. Snor shook his head feeling a slight bit of damage from the High Jump Kick.

Both Red and Cynthia grinned, the champion and former champion were both enjoying this match. Their pokemon also seemed to be enjoying the battler, Lucario made a gesture to Snor who smiled back.

"Lucario, Extreme Speed!"

Lucario vanished in a blur of speed, Red and Snor looked around trying to get a visual on the aura pokemon. Suddenly Snor was gut-checked by Lucario whose fist was buried into his stomach, Lucario then vanished again and delivered a kick to the back of the head.

Snor got annoyed as he tried to hit Lucario who continued to vanish and strike. Lucario went for another punch to the gut but Snor wrapped his arms around the aura pokemon bringing him into a ursaring hug. Lucario tried to get free but Snor wasn't letting go, he looked up and saw a big smile on Snor's face.

"Heh." Red grinned. "Body Slam!"

Snor leaped surprisingly high into the sky, before allowing gravity to take both him and Lucario who was struggling to break free down to the ground. Cynthia knew that if this continued Lucario would take heavy damage.

"High Jump Kick!" Cynthia called out.

"Rahh!" Lucario shoved his knees directly into Snor's belly causing the normal pokemon pain, the lapse in concentration causing Snor to drop Lucario who landed on the ground safely while Snor smashed into the ground causing the entire stadium to shake from the impact.

"Woah!" Dawn said feeling her whole body nearly jump out of her seat.

"That gotta hurt." Kenny remarked, feeling his whole body hurting just by looking at that.

Snor slowly got to his feet a little wobbly. "Time for a nap, use Rest!" Red said.

Snor fell backwards and slammed into the ground with a heavy thud drifting off to dreamland. Cynthia frowned, knowing if Snor was left to heal the battle would never end. She needs to end the battle as fast as possible.

"Lucario, Bone Rush!" Cynthia said

Lucario than suddenly materialized a bone-like staff of energy before rushing at Snor.

"Alright, use Sleep Talk." Red shouted

Snor suddenly avoided the first strike before delivering a fire punch right into Lucario's face sending the aura Pokemon flying into the ground.

"Nice counter." Gary commented.

"You didn't think I would leave Snor defenseless did you?" Red said with a cheeky grin.

"Nice move Red, I'll admit you got me and Lucario there." Cynthia admitted, before deciding to take a page out of Red's book. "Bone Rush plus Extreme Speed!"

Lucario jumped to his feet and once again materialized a bone-like staff of energy, but this time the aura pokemon vanished

"Snor, Iron Defense!" Red shouted

Snor once again tightens his body's muscles, this time even harder than when he uses Harden. Lucario at high speed smashed the bone staff repeatedly against Snor's Iron Exterior.

"Use the momentum you've built and use High Jump Kick!" Cynthia called out.

Lucario stopped and quickly pivoted on his feet and jumped and delivered a devastating kick to Snor's chin before the Aura Pokemon backpack off breathing slightly.

"Cynthia's attacks aren't doing anything." Dawn said, thinking that Cynthia's attacks weren't doing anything.

"On the surface it looks like nothing is happening, but keep watching the young lady." Prof. Oak said pointing a the battle

Everyone looked to see Snor was slightly wobbly after Lucario's various attacks.

"Even the strongest of defensives can be shattered when hit with a lot of force." Prof. Oak told them. "But battle has begun to take its toll on Lucario as well."

Paul continued to look at the battle, both trainers were definitely in a league all their own with various attacks and exchanges. He wondered how this would end.

Cynthia stayed calm and cool, knowing Snorlax was too much of a threat for the rest of her team. If he gets a chance to heal again she needs to end this battle right now. "Lucario! Close Combat!"

"Snor! Use Giga Impact!" Red called out.

"Rahh!"

"Snorlax!"

Lucario rushed at Snor who ran forward and his body was then engulfed in a destructive energy. Everyone in the stadium were on the edge of their seats as both pokemon collided. Fist met Destructive Energy as the two sent shockwaves through the stadium those close to the ground braced themselves as the force of the collision pushed them back.

Both pokemon showed no sign of backing down after a couple of seconds, eventually both Snor and Lucario both fell down at the same time

"Both Snorlax and Lucario are unable to battle." the referee announced

The crowd cheered, as both trainers returned their pokemon. "Thanks Snor, you did amazing." Red said, in truth he didn't see that result, taking down Snor who was one of the best pokemon in sheer survivability and taking him down was nothing short of amazing, Lance wasn't kidding about how good Cynthia was.

Cynthia recalled Lucario thanking him for the hard-fought battle, and she began to think over her options. She had lost three pokemon, Red had lost two while one was poison so in technical terms they were about even.

"Roserade, go!" Cynthia called out, throwing the ball.

Once again the petal pokemon appeared onto the field ready to continue the battle.

"Pika, let's go." Red said as he threw the pokeball that released a Raichu.

"Raichu!." Pika said with confidence.

"A Raichu." Kenny said in surprise.

"Pika." Pikachu tilted his head seeing Raichu.

"He's using the same team." Everyone turned to Conway as pushes his glasses up

"What do you mean by that?" Barry asked.

"I mean every pokemon he used were on his team during his last official appearance in public to point that I'm confident that his last pokemon is a Charizard."

"so, Charizard is his strongest?" Dawn asked.

"Not necessarily." smiled. "You kids are looking at his strongest pokemon right before you. She's also his second pokemon"

"Raichu is his strongest huh?" Brock remarked, looking at Pika now remembering what his dad told him, a Pikachu had beaten his rock pokemon

"Of course." Delia said. "Infact, She's the mom of Pikachu sweetie."

"Wait what?!" Ash shouted in complete shock.

"Pika pi?!" Pikachu also bellowed just as shocked by Delia's words.

Once again four giant rocks shot out of the ground and crushed Pika before receding back into the ground, revealing a very annoyed and slightly injured Pika who had a tick mark on her forehead.

"I hope you're ready Cynthia." Red smiled before he started off. "Pika, agility."

Pika immediately sprinted towards the Petal Pokemon while leaving afterimages in her wake.

"Energy Ball!" Cynthia called out.

"Roooserade!" Roserade shouted as it fired a green sphere of energy at Pika

"Launched it back with Iron Tail," Red shouted

Pika's tail glowed a gunmetal color before she turned around and hit the energy ball with her tail firing it back at Roserade like a bat hitting a baseball, the force of the attack making it 3 times as fast

"Roserade Dodge!" Cynthia called out.

Roserade shifted it's body narrowly missing the attack which grazed it's side as the energy ball smashed into the wall of the stadium making a small hole in it.

Cynthia looked behind, surprised by the force Pika was able to generate by just knocking the attack right back.

"The force it took just to do that much damage to the wall is remarkable." Conway said, fixing his glasses.

"So cool!" Barry exclaimed, pumping his fist.

"Now use Electro Ball." Red shouted

Pika gathered electricity at her tail forming a ball before throwing it at Roserade that flew at her faster than she could react, the attack hit Roserade dead causing an explosion. Pika then fired off another one as Roserade stumbled out cloud only get hit again and as she landed on all four paws she finished ready third one the she fires into cloud makes explosion that saw much larger then first two as she then looked over the aftermath, once the dust cleared it revealed Roserade was unconscious in small crater her eyes swirling force she just hit with.

"Roserade is unable to battle, the winner is Raichu!" the referee shouted, as the crowd cheered on.

"Rai!" Pika snorted her nose high in the air.

"It said that's for Poli. Remind me not to get on her bad side" Meowth translated.

The three team rocket members just watched on as they did their jobs at the same time.

"You have to admit this is an amazing battle." James said, finding the match enjoyable.

"I'll say it is entertaining." Jessie admitted.

"If the tweep's Pikachu had a mean streak like that we would be in serious trouble." James said, imagining Pikachu having an attitude like that they would have been killed many times over.

"Though think of what the boss will say if we give him two monster groups of Pokemon for him?" Jessie said idea forming.

"Um Jessie I thought we agreed we just do this job for today." James said a little nervous

"Don't be such a baby, think of it. If we nab Raichu along with Pikachu the boss will definitely be pleased. Besides after this they all be tuckered out making them easily nab" Jessie remarked

"So we wait and swipe Raichu when it's too pooped to fight." Meowth grinned.

"Hey! I want so much service here!" A man yelled at the three from a few feet up.

"Right away." all three exclaimed as they continued to work while they waited for their time to strike.

"What power, Pika took out Roserade like it was nothing." Zoey said in amazement.

"Yeah, Pika really is strong." Dawn muttered.

"This doesn't make sense even factoring the him increasing his Pokemon power that Raichu shouldn't have had so easily beat Cynthia's Roserade, it just doesn't make sense." Conway said trying to find a reason for it to be so but he kept coming up blank.

Paul looked down now more interested than ever, even with the damage with Stealth Rock, Raichu was able to take out Cynthia's Roserade without much effort. This entire match has shown Red was indeed one of the best trainers able to deal with Cynthia and her pokemon even when on the back foot.

'Dad is so amazing, he's the reason I wanted to be the best. But… Can I ever hope to reach his level at all?' Ash thought, all his life he looked up to his dad and seeing him here and now battling Cynthia made him wonder if he ever could be the best like his dad.

Cynthia returned to Roserade, she really didn't expect Red's Raichu to just one shot Roserade like that, putting her down another pokemon furthering the gap between them ' Looks like I don't have a choice time to send her out.' Cynthia thought as she grabbed her next poke ball until she heard a surprising call.

"Pika, come back." Red called out.

Cynthia looked to see Pika running to Red's side, where she just sat beside him. She sees Red changing Pika out so fast. 'Why call her back so fast? Did he guess who she was sending out or is he just saving Pika for later in the match?' Cynthia thought.

"Poli! I choose you!" Red called out, throwing Poli's pokeball into the air.

In a flash of light Poli appeared once again, followed by four rocks appearing out the ground and smashed into Poli making him shout in pain, once they receded a purple aura pulsed around Poli making him flinch in pain.

"Stealth Rocks plus poison, that's gotta hurt." Kenny remarked only imagining the pain Poli was experiencing.'

"Any more damage like that and Poli won't be standing much longer." Gary stated.

"It appears he might have made a misplay. I wonder if this could be his age showing?" Conway said

"Hey! Don't talk about my dad like that!" Ash growled at Conway.

"I would be so sure yet. I think I have a good idea on what his plan is and the question is will Cynthia go for it." Delia said

"What do you mean? You know what he's planning?" Barry asked curiously.

"Just watch and see." Delia pointed down at the arena.

"Poli you fine?" Red asked his pokemon.

"Poliwrath." Poli gave Red and Pika a thumbs up.

Because of the switch it made Cynthia pause as consider her options debating on her two remaining Pokemon she has to send out and after a moment she knew who he was trying to get her to send out Togekiss why she not sure yet but she can't afford let Garchomp get wear down now that she seen what his Riachu can do so..

"Alright Red, let's see what you got. Go Togekiss!"

In a flash of light Togekiss appeared ready to aid her trainer.

"Heh, I look forward to this." Red smiled. "I have to say Cynthia, you're one hell of a trainer. I can see why you are the champion of this region and I feel that even if you have only 2 pokemon left you'll be difficult to defeat."

"You're no slouch either, I've heard many stories about you and more and I can see you live up to them. I never thought I would be pushed this far and I have to warn you that I have saved the best for last." Cynthia said.

"Then bring it on.' Red clenched his fist with excitement. "Poli Use rain dance." Red said

Poli brought his hands together before shooting them up to the sky, suddenly clouds appeared out of nowhere as it suddenly began to pour down rain, a lot of people in the stadium covered themselves from the rain.

"Aww, looks like I was right." Delia groaned, not liking how the rain was messing with her hair.

"So that his plan is to use rain to boost Poli's water moves?" Kenny asked.

"A bit basic and given his Pokemon current state I doubt he will be able to make most of that."

"Their bit more to just wait." Prof. Oak said already knowing what plan

"Alright Poli you know what to do let's get started. Weather Ball's rapid fire." Red said

Poli started launching Weather Balls upward toward Togekiss.

"Togekiss Dodge then counters with Air Slash." Togekiss easily dodge the weather balls as she closed the distance, sweeping her wing in sending a slash at Poli.

"Poli dodge!" Red called out.

Poil tried to dodge but flinched from the poison, as the energy slash hit the ground the force of the impact sent him flying backwards into the air. "Come on Poli!" Red called

"Rai Rai!" Pika called out.

"Poli!" Poli backflipped and wobbly landed on the ground.

'Whatever his plan is I'm gonna stop before it can start.' Cynthia thought.

"Togekiss let's finish this Air- " Cynthia was about to say only for Togekiss to get hit from above!

"What! Where did that happen?" Cynthia asks now, seeing two other weather balls fall downwards.

'He wasn't trying to hit Togekiss, he was only missing on purpose to catch Togekiss off guard as the rain hid them as they fell back down.' Cynthia thought, she couldn't believe Red thought that far ahead with that strategy.

"Now Poli!" Red said seeing their opportunity

"Po!" Poli said as ran towards the falling weather balls and slammed himself into the first one and after so he didn't seem hurt in fact Poli seemed stronger now as started running to the second one.

'So that's what he was trying to do.' Cynthia said, now seeing right through Red's plan.

"Togekiss blast the other weather balls with an aura sphere before Poli can reach it." Cynthia ordered.

Togekiss fire off her attack destroying weather ball before Poliwrath could reach it forcing him stop on his tracks.

"Wait so can someone explain what just happened cause I'm a bit confused on what is going on." Barry asked, unable to wrap his head around the strategy.

"It's simple Poliwrath's ability is Water Absorb so when he is hit by water attack he recovers his strength." Brock explained

"So he had Poli, purposely miss on purpose using the rain and weather ball which becomes a water attack in rain, and used it to heal the damage from earlier. That is ingenious." Conway said in amazement, at how Red thought of that kinda tactic.

"Yes, but it seems that Cynthia had caught on to it." Gary said.

"Very clever using the weather to not only turn the weather ball into a water attack, and having it hit your Pokemon to heal from the injuries." Cynthia smiled.

"Togekiss use Sky Attack!"

Togekiss began to pick up speed as her body was covered in a lightish blue aura

"Poli, use Focus Punch," Red shouted

Poli…wrath." Poli said as he clenched his fists as it began to glow with energy.

Energy and fist collided as a shock wave rippled, even with the healing he had gotten from the weather ball and with the poison still coursing through his veins but even with all that he would go out with a fight digging deep he put all the power he had left in his fasts and for a second Togekiss falters however Poli flinched from the poison losing not loosing his focus but also his foot, Togekiss's Sky Attack broke through the Poli's fists and slammed into his torso and sent him flying past Red who's eyes were shadowed and he slammed into the wall with a hard thud kicking up a dust cloud.

Everyone watched anxiously as the smoke cleared and revealed Poli who was barely standing up holding his left arm, they all could see he was breathing heavily despite all the damage he took Poli had the will to still stand. This shocked everyone in the stadium, that Poli still had the will to stand up even Cynthia was taken aback by how Poli was still standing even after all of that, she wondered if it will continue.

"I can't believe it! That has to be the toughest Poliwrath I've ever seen!" Barry shouted, with complete excitement.

"To take a super effective hit like that and still be standing, that's some will power." Kenny commented.

"It shouldn't be possible, no pokemon can stand up after all that." Conway said, as he began to take notes of the battle.

Red turned to his oldest friend. "Poli?" Red called out to his friend.

Poli didn't even respond as he just stood there unmoving, Red walked over to Poli and looked at him. Pika moved in front of Poli and tried to get him to respond.

"Rai, Rai?" Pika muttered.

The referee looked at the tadpole pokemon and saw that Poli had passed out while standing up. "The battling is over, Poliwrath has passed out while standing up, the winner of the match is Togetkiss!"

The crowd went wild, as Red returned Poli to his pokeball and smiled. "You did amazing, and you went down standing up, thanks old friend." Red said, very proud of his friend for fighting until the bitter end.

"Rai…" Pika's ears flopped, sad that her friend had lost, but he went down standing and she wouldn't let his effort go in vain.

"Man, that was intense." Dawn commented.

"Poli had the will to stand up even if he was about to pass out, that's some willpower." Gary said, crossing his arms.

"Red's now down three and Cynthia's down to two, this is clearly anyone's battle." Conway said.

"Indeed." Professor Oak nodded

"Gyara, let's go." Red shouted as he threw his pokeball as it released a Gyarados.

"Grahhhhh." Gyara roared

"Wow, a Gyarados." Barry said, excited

Once again the stealth rocks kicked in, just as they were about to smash into Gyara, Red called a command.

"Smash them with an Iron Tail!" Red called.

Without missing a beat, Gyara's tail glowed brightly and in a circular motion he smashed his tail into the rock, smashing them to rubble.

"Roaaaaa!" Gyara roared.

"Didn't see that coming." Zoey admitted.

"I've never seen Stealth Rock dealt with that way before." Conway said in surprise, as he took down notes.

"That's only something Red would thought of," Delia commented

"Hmm, he's definitely Ash's father," Brock said.

"You got that right." Dawn smiled.

"Go dad." Ash smiled with

Paul found Red's method to deal with the Stealth Rocks was both unorthodox and clever at the same time. Now Cynthia had two pokemon left and Red still had 3 two fresh and one injured from the stealth rocks.

Cynthia didn't seem upset about it, in fact she was impressed that he was able to clear them. However she knew she had to deal with Gyarados first and knew it wouldn't be a walk in the park.

"Very clever. I didn't really expect that kinda method to clear stealth rocks. You continue to surprise me, Red." Cynthia said.

"Thanks. I'm having the time of my life right now and I'm looking forward to what else you can do." Red remarked before his face got serious again "However we still have a battle to finish, so let's give these people a battle to remember."

Cynthia nodded her expression, also turning serious.

"Use Hydro Pump!" Red called out.

Gyara then unleashed a high-pressure stream of water from his maw, and because Rain Dance was still in effect, the power of the attack was increased.

"Dodge!" Cynthia called out

Togekiss evaded the attack by swerving around the stream of water in a spectacular display of aerodynamics.

"You've trained your Togekiss well." Red complimented

"You've seen nothing yet," Cynthia stated. "Air Slash!"

Both of Togekiss's wings glow white. It then flaps its wings, firing multiple whitish-blue, glowing blades of energy from them at Gyara

"Quick, shoot them down with Hydro Pump," Red shouted

Gyara quickly retaliated at the incoming energy blades by spewing a stream of high pressure water at them, but there were too many to shoot down as eventually some of them hit him.

"Rahh.." Gyara roared slightly dazed from the hits.

"Extrasensory!" Cynthia ordered.

"Togeee…" Togekiss's eyes began to glow blue.

Gyara's body was then surrounded in a blue glow, the water dragon struggled against the energy but was unable to break free.

"Kisss!" Togekiss cried out, as Gyara was sent flying into the air, what Cynthia and everyone else in the stadium thought would result in the water dragon hitting ground hard to their shock and Red's amusement Gyara not only recovered but was also flying in the air.

"Roooaaar!" Gyara roared, lighting flashing behind him which made him give off a more intimidating appearance.

"It's flying." Ash said he had seen his fair share of Gyaradoses, but he had never seen them fly in the sky before. "I've never seen a Gyarados fly before."

"It's quite rare for people to see one actually fly through the air as they prefer water rather than the air." Proffesor Oak commented

"Only Red can train a Gyarados to fly, he's been busy these last 7 years." Delia smirked.

"It's quite amazing, Red really is something and he's living up to the legends about him." Conway's as he continued to type notes.

Paul said nothing as he watched and will admit he was generally surprised to see a Gyarados fly. Throughout this entire match, Red has proven why he was the former champion of Kanto and world champion dealing with Stealth Rocks with Iron Tail.

"Surprise huh? Gyara is part flying so obviously he had the capacity to fly, much like Dragonair or Rayquaza." Red said with a proud smile.

"I am surprised, I've faced trainers with Gyaradoses in the past. But this is the first time I've seen one flying." Cynthia admitted, but that wouldn't stop her. "Extreme Speed!"

Togekiss flew at Gyara in a burst of speed.

"Hydro Pump!"

Gyara opened his maw once again and unleashed a stream of high pressure water at his approaching opponents. However Togekiss soars over the attack and smashes into Gyara's forehead making the water pokemon roar in pain.

'That speed is going to be a problem, we need to get Togekiss to stay still.' Red thought.

Gyara shook his head and glared at Togekiss who hovered over Cynthia waiting for her next command.

"Grrr." Gyara growled with frustration.

"Heh, don't worry Gyara we aren't done yet." Red told his mon.

"Ggrrg." Gyara growled understanding

"Alright used Thunder," Red shouted

Gyara began to discharge a current of lightning from his horn at Togekiss which surprised Cynthia, who quickly called for a counter.

"Counter with Aura Sphere!" Cynthia shouted

Togekiss puts its wings together and creates a light blue ball of energy. Togekiss then fires it at Gyara.

Both the energy sphere and the lightning collided with each other, both attacks were trying to overpower the other before eventually, a huge explosion occurred with the smoke obscuring both combatants.

Togekiss emerged from the smoke slightly damaged as she took to the sky, Gyara emerged from the smoke in pursuit. Gyara unleashed a Hydro Pump which Togekiss gracefully evaded before making a u-turn flying at Gyara.

"Use Ice Fang." Red ordered

Gyara's fangs become covered in light blue, icy energy before he flew at Togekiss with the intent to bite down on her.

"Zen Headbutt." Cynthia called out.

Togekiss barrel rolled as a blue energy engulfed her body as she flew at Gyara, the two clashed sending a shockwave through the air. Both pokemon fought for dominance as the force pushed both of them back, the two breathing heavily as they glared at each other, both trainers could see their pokemon were at their limits and the next attack would end it.

Red and Cynthia leered at each other before calling their attacks.

"Use Hyper Beam!" both Red and Cynthia shouted

Gyara's dorsal fins glow with gold energy before he shoots out a yellow-orange beam of energy from its mouth

Togekiss opens her mouth and fires a powerful yellow and orange beam of energy..

Both attacks collided and everyone in the stadium looked up in awe, as the attacks began to form a dome of orange energy in the sky. The two pokemon put everything they had into their attacks before it exploded consuming both pokemon. Everyone in the audience covered themselves from the explosion.

Red and Cynthia looked up at the smoke left behind, their expressions stern.

"Who won?" Dawn asked, sweat beating down her forehead anxious to see the results.

The smoke began to clear away, as both Gyara and Togekiss fell towards the ground at a fast pace they both crashed into the stadium floor kicking up dust clouds. They soon cleared, revealing both pokemon lying in craters unconscious.

"Both pokemon are unable to battle!" the referee called.

"Amazing, both pokemon really gave it their all." Barry said with excitement.

"Yeah, I didn't see that being a draw." Kenny admitted.

Right as he made the call sunlight shines right through the dark clouds which began to dissipate.

"Looks like the effects of Rain Dance are over now." Professor Oak commented

"And now Cynthia is down to her last pokemon while Red still has two." Zoey said.

"Yes, but her last is still her best, and will still have difficulty with them." Delia commented

"Pika, you ready to go again." Red said

"Rai, Rai." Pika nodded as she ran back onto the arena

Cynthia smiled. "Red, I must admit you are the most powerful trainer I've ever seen, you live up to everything I've heard about you, however… it's time that I showed you my ace." She then took out her final pokeball, the one that contained her most trusted ace.

"Let's go Garchomp!" Cynthia called out, throwing the Pokeball into the air.

In a flash of light, Cynthia's ace pokemon appeared on the field. "Garchomp!" Garchomp roared, however to many surprise it seems to be wearing a collar around its neck with a strange jewel embedded in it.

"This is going to be awesome! Cynthia's best pokemon is here." Barry exclaimed with excitement.

"What's that collar about?" Dawn asked, confused why Garchomp was wearing a collar.

The others also took notice and they were confused as to why Garchomp had a collar and they also noticed a strange jewel embedded in it.

"Ah, this would be a real treat for all of you to see if that's really what I think it is." Professor Oak said

"You know what it is?" Gary asked

"You will see, pay close attention." Professor Oak told his grandson.

Red frowned slightly, seeing the jewel and collar he knew this would be the toughest battle.

"Be careful Pika, this will be our toughest battle." Red told his friend.

"Rai." Pika nodded, her cheek pouches sparking with anticipation.

"Let the match begin!" the Referee called.

"Pika Quick Attack!" Red called out.

"Rai!" Pika shot down the field leaving an afterimage.

Pika continued to run in a zigzag pattern while still leaving behind afterimages in an attempt to confuse Garchomp

"Garchomp, use Slash!" Cynthia shouted

Grchomp stayed still for a while just waiting for Pika to get close to her, the moment she was within range, she swung her claw at Pika but Pika managed to evade the strike by a hair.

"Use the momentum and unleash an Iron Tail!" Red commanded.

Using the momentum from dodging the slash, while turning, Pika's tail began to glow a gun-gray color before she swung at Garchomp with all her might

"Counter with Brick Break!" Cynthia shouted

Before the tail could hit her, one of Garchomp's forelimbs glowed white and she used it to counter the Iron tail, the force between the two attacks forced both combatants to skid back from the collision

"Now, use Dragon Rush!" Cynthia said as soon as she saw that Garchomp recovered from the collision a bit

Garchomp jumped in the air and the appendages on its head glowed blue and it released a dragon-shaped energy that covered its body before it flew at Pika.

"Pika, use Giga Impact!" Red ordered

Pika nodded as she began to ran fast before she jumped in the air, her body becoming surrounded by orange energy and it burst into a purple aura that became surrounded by swirling orange streaks of energy

Both collided in mid-air creating an explosion, when the smoke cleared both Pika and Garchomp were forced away from each other as their attacks were evenly matched

"Pika, use Grass Knot!" Red called out.

Pika did a backflip landing on all four paws skidding back a bit, her tail glowed light green before she touched it to the ground and glowed for a second. Garchomp recovered and landed on the ground and to her surprise two grassy ropes appeared at her feet and bound them to the ground.

"Electro Ball!" Red called out.

Pika leaped into the air as her tail began to gather electrical energy. "Draco Meteor!" Cynthia called out.

Garchomp opened its jaws gathering destructive energy before shooting it into the air. Everyone watched as the ball of energy then split into multiple balls of energy which fell towards Pika.

"Rai?!" Pika gasped, unable to evade the attacks as they rain down on her, consuming her in multiple explosions, which created a dust cloud.

"Pika!" Red called out in concern.

When the dust clouds cleared away, Pika was unable to battle

"Raichu is unable to battle, the victory goes to Garchomp." the referee announced

Red returned Pika to her pokeball "You did a great job old friend, you deserved a good long rest." Red smiled

"Poor Pika." Delia said feeling sad for her.

"Pikachu…" Pikachu's ears flopped and said that his newfound mother lost.

"It's ok buddy, she did her best." Ash smiled as he scratched behind Pikachu's ears.

"They're both down to their last pokemon, this is anyone's battle." Conway commented.

"This is so intense!" Barry shouted, pulling his hair.

"You're right, now it's anyone's battle." Brock said

Paul knew this was it, the question was who would win the match. The current Champion of Sinnoh or the former Kanto Champion and World Champion.

Red took out his last Pokeball. "It's up to you old friend "Let's go, Char."

The pokeball flew and released a Charizard and like Garchomp, it was also wearing a strange collar around its neck with a strange jewel embedded in it.

"It's Charizard, I knew it would be his last pokemon." Conway said. "His current team is what he used before he vanished."

"Wait? Dad's Charizard has a collar as well." Ash pointed out. "What are they?"

"Your right. What are they?" Dawn said, confused herself

"I guess we'll find out soon." Zoey said not looking away from this, she and many others in the stadium were at the edge of their seats.

"I wonder who will win?" James questioned as he, Jessie and Mewoth had finished giving a few people their snacks.

"I don't know." Jessie answered.

"It could go either way." Meowth remarked.

"This is it Red, me and Garchomp are holding nothing back." Cynthia proclaimed.

"Gar!" Garchomp roared in agreement.

"Heh, me and Char aren't either." Red grinned.

"Rooaarr!" Char roared.

"Cynthia, let us give these people and all those watching from all over the world a battle to remember regardless of the outcome. I want you to show me your very best and nothing more!" Red called pointing at the blond.

"Indeed." Cynthia said.

Both champion and former champion glared at each other as well as their aces. The stadium was anxious to see the battle that was about to commence between these two powerful Pokemon. The tension between them was so thick that anyone could cut it with a knife, Ash and the others were on the edge of their seats even though Paul was anxiously waiting for either to make the first move.

The two broke the silence.

"Dragon Rush!"

"Flare Blitz!"

Both Char and Garchomp flew into the air and rushed at each other

The appendages on Garchomp's head glowed blue, and it released a dragon-shaped energy that covered its body as it headed towards Char

At the same time, Char engulfed itself in red-orange fire as he flew at Garchomp

Both Pokemon collided with each other, once again creating a smokescreen that engulfed the entire arena. However, both of them suddenly flew out of the smoke

"Use Flamethrower!" Red shouted

While still in the air, Char released a stream of fire towards Garchomp which she avoided

"Garchomp use Stone Edge!" Cynthia said

Two rings of glowing light blue rocks appear and spin around her body. Before Garchomp fired multiple gray rocks from the rings toward Char

"Counter with Steel Wing!" Red said

Both of Char's wings glowed white before he smashed his wings against the rocks that were heading toward him, once he finished smashing them to pieces Garchomp tackled Char in the gut knocking the wind out of the fire lizard as he was sent falling toward the ground.

"Pull up Char!" Red called.

Char struggled as he neared the ground, before spreading his wings and pulling up at the last second.

"Flamethrower!" Red ordered.

"Dragon Breath!" Cynthia called back.

"Rooar!"

"Garrr!"

Char unleashed a powerful stream of flames while Garchomp countered a yellow and purple stream of flames both attacks collided power both equal the two fizzling out.

Both pokemon rushed each other, claws met sailfin as the two clashed sending shockwaves from the air to the ground which made a lot of the audience cover themselves. Char punched Garchomp making the land shark stagger for a sec before retaliate with a slash of his fin to the side of Char's head before heading him in the gut, before the fire lizard rushed back swing his tail striking Garchomp in the head, the two powerhouses shot across the sky in aerial combat at speeds many couldn't keep track of trading blow after blow.

"Wow… this is so intense…" Barry remarked in awe. His usually flighty mood was replaced with both awe and anxiousness.

"I can barely keep up with them." Kenny said in awe.

"Yes, I quite agree with you." Conway said

"Both pokemon are well trained and skilled." Gary stated. "They are damn near even."

"Who do you think will win?" Dawn asked, as she watched both ace pokemon.

"Hmm, hard to tell right now. They're both quite evenly match." Brock said

"Yeah, I say this could go either way." Zoey spoke up. "Every attack and every move counts."

"Hmm, soon things will get even more intense." Professor Oak sternly said.

Paul was watching from his place so far and he'll admit that Red and his Pokemon were doing excellent and that his Charizard is high-level as well.

In the Kanto Region, everyone who knew or met Red was smiling with the exception of Giovanni as he still remembered the times they'd crossed paths.

'Come on, Red.' Flint thought, as he clenched his fist. With his children cheering.

Misty only know of Red through reputation and from her mother before she passed away and she knew her mother would be cheering for Red to win.

'You can do it.' Erika thought as her Gloom sat next to her.

'Come on baby, don't you dare lose!' Surge said, taking off his sunglass and smiled.

'Come on Red, show them all.' Sabrina's father thought as he and family watched intently.

Janine the new leader of the Fuchsia Gym said nothing but watched alongside her father Koga.

While on his plane away from Kanto, Blaine also said nothing but smiled, remembering when he helped Red when he was still on his journey

Giovanni only frowned, as he watched the match continue he remembered all the headaches Red and his friends had caused him, as much as he hated Red he said this. "You better not embarrass the region with a loss." Giovanni frowned.

In a pokemon center in the region of Alola, a man who looked just like Gary, only older wearing a dark green shirt and black pants, looked at the screen showing the battle with hundreds of people in front of him.

The man couldn't help but scoff. "It's about time you've come out of hiding old friend." The man smiled, this man was Gary Oak Sr or better known as Green who couldn't help but feel happy his oldest friend and rival had finally broken out of his mid life crisis and was looking forward to the day they have their rematch.

Char unleashed a flamethrower which Garchomp maneuvered above the attack before diving at the fire lizard and crashing into him the two flew towards the ground. Char grabbed Garchomp's head spreading his wings slowing their descent twisting his body to the side Char threw Garchomp towards the ground with the sand shark pokemon spreading his arms decelerating his fall landing on his feet with a light thud. Char came down as well, his wings flapping a few times before landing on the ground with a light thud.

"Your Garchomp is well trained, I've seen my fair share of powerful ace pokemon. But yours is definitely up there." Red compliment, he was enjoying the match and so was Char who looked to be having the time of his life.

"Why thank you." Cynthia said "Your Charizard is also very well trained." she complimented, also enjoying the battle

"Heh, thanks." Red said, wiping the bottom of his nose with his pointer finger.

"Then let's hold nothing back." Cynthia smiled.

Red then revealed a bracelet and on it was a stone that was similar to the stone on the collar of Char

Cynthia responded by pulling out lipstick which also has a strange stone embedded on it.

"What are those? Matching jewelry?" Kenny asked, confused.

Conway's eyes widened, his glasses slipping off before he fixed them. "Are those what I think they are?" Conway asked, getting the others' attention.

Professor Oak smiled "I see that you finally figured it out." he said

"Figure out what?" Zoey asked.

"You're about to find out." Delia said.

"Char!"

"Garchomp!"

"Mega Evolve!"

Both trainers activated their respective Mega Stones which caused steams of energy to resonate from both the stone and their respective Pokemon's stone causing them to undergo evolution

Char's body and legs started to become physically fit, though its arms remain thin. Its skin turns black with a sky-blue underside and soles. Two spikes with blue tips curve upward from the front and back of each shoulder, while the tips of its horns sharpen, turn blue, and curve slightly upward. Its brow and claws are larger, and its eyes are now red. It has two small, fin-like spikes under each horn and two more down its lower neck. The finger disappears from the wing membrane, and the lower edges are divided into large, rounded points. The third joint of each wing-arm is adorned with a claw-like spike. Char also started to breathes blue flames out the sides of its mouth, and the flame on its tail now burns blue consistently and his entire body turned black as well

At the same time, when Garchomp changed, several of its features become more angular, including its head and shoulders. A row of five tooth-like spikes sprouts from each side of its abdomen and red spikes grow from its knees. The claws and fins on its arms melt from the excessive energy and morph together to form sharp, red blades

To say that the entire audience in the stadium as well as the world watching was shocked wasn't an understatement to what they've just witnessed

"What…was…that?" Ash asked.

"Pika..pii." Pikachu tilted his head.

"A phenomenon known as Mega Evolution." Professor Oak explained

"I've heard of it before but I never thought I'd see it." Brock said.

"What is Mega Evolution?" Dawn asked in wonder.

"It's a strange phenomenon where when a pokemon and trainer have a strong bond, when they both have a keystone, it triggers an evolution beyond a fully evolved pokemon's form. I've read about and studied it, but I've never seen it in person." Conway explained.

"Really?! That sounds so cool! you mean me and Empoleon can do it if we get a couple of keystones?" Barry asked with stars in his eyes.

Conway just shook his head. "It's not that simple Barry. Keystones are rare, they are most common in the region of Kalos, and you can't just give a keystone to a pokemon. They need to be the correct ones and I've read they haven't found one for Empoleon yet."

"Aww man." Barry pouted in frustration.

"So Cynthia had to have been training for weeks in Kalos to prepare to master mega evolution for this very match." Conway said, from the info he had gathered Cynthia had left Sinnoh to train, she must have trained in Kalos and they were all seeing the results of that training right before them.

"This is going to be incredible, I've only heard of Mega Evolution on my research missions." Gary grinned, he was honestly excited to see this phenomenon in action.

Paul was now completely invested in this match, he had never seen anything like this before and was wondering where both trainers had learned that skill from and now he wondered who would win this very match.

"Now Char, use Dragon Claw!" Red shouted

Char raised both his claws and they both became surrounded in a light green, claw-shaped aura before he flew at Garchomp

"Garchomp, you use your Dragon Claw too." Cynthia called out as well

Garchomp roared as A light-green aura formed around each of her fins before she flew towards Char.

Both of their Dragon claws collided with each other but neither gave in as they each struck again and again, proving that both were evenly matched. They broke apart and Red didn't let up.

"Flamethrower!" Red shouted

"Dragon Breath!" Cynthia shouted.

"Rooaar!"

"Garrrh!"

Both aces unleashed powerful streams, only Char's was blue the attacks met in the center of the arena creating a purple dome of flames that expanded until it exploded covering the ring in flame along and intense heat was felt by everyone.

"Man, talk about turning up the heat right?" Kenny said, covering his face.

"Yeah, I'm sweating here." Ash said, wiping his forehead.

"Pika…" Pikachu mimicked Ash.

"It's so evenly matched, it's crazy." Dawn said, fanning herself.

Garchomp watched the wall of flames, she narrowed her eyes when she saw a shadow form in it and bursting out of the flames Char launched forward delivering a punch right into Garchomp's sending the force sending the mega landshark skidding back before coming to a stop.

Char wasn't letting us fly at Garchomp who ducked under a claw strike using the momentum and swing her tail smashing Char in the side of the face staggering him before unleashing a Dragon Claw into the mega fire lizard's chest sending him skidding back coming to a stop.

"Stone Edge!" Cynthia ordered.

"Garrr!" Garchomp roared, as rocks formed around her and with a wave of her claws they flew at Char.

"Take flight!" Red called.

With a flap of his mighty wings, Char flew into the air avoiding the rock type move.

"Chase it, Garchomp!" Cynthia said.

Without a hesitation took to the sky in pursuit of Char, something Red noticed about that take off. 'Looks like there's a downside to its evolution.' Red thought.

"Looks like Garchomp has lost some momentum." Gary said, seeing something different.

"What do you mean?" Kenny asked.

"You saw when it took off." Conway pointed out. "It wasn't as fast as it was earlier, like all evolutions there's a trade off when evolving in order to gain a lot of power, it had to give up a bit of speed not alot but it could mean the difference between victory and defeat."

"You also have to factor in Char's ability. It changed from Blaze to Tough Claws which powers up moves that do direct damage, if Cynthia isn't careful this match won't last long." Prof. Oak explained.

"Woah, Mega Evolution is no joke." Dawn said in amazement.

"It's not just Char's." Delia spoke up "Char has also changed from a Fire/Flying type to a Fire/Dragon type now."

"They change types too?!" Barry asked in surprise.

"Some do and some stay the same with their natural types empowered." Prof. Oak answered, "In fact, Charizard is the only known Pokemon so far to have two known Mega Evolutions."

"Two huh? I wonder if I should get one for my Charizard?" Ash said he began wondering if he should get a Mega Stone for his Charizard and with their strong and tight bond they would be an unstoppable team.

"Garchomp, use Sandstorm!" Cynthia

Garchomp roared as she created a sandstorm that began to cover the arena, Red covered his face with his cape from the blistering sandstorm. As Char flapped his wings trying to keep in flight as the sandstorm continued.

"Just what we need, a sandstorm." Red muttered.

"This sandstorm is so strong." Brock commented

"Indeed." Prof. Oak said

"I can't see anything." Dawn said, holding her hands over her face.

"Imagine what Red and Char are going through." Kenny said

"Practically blind, with near 0 visibility." Delia answered.

Char narrowed his eyes trying to make out anything in the swirling sands. The sands began to shift randomly forcing Char to close his eyes and shake his head as sand flew into his eyes.

"Char, endure it and use Flamethower!" Red shouted

Char roared as he glowed before he unleashed a stream of blue fire at Garchomp.

"Dodge." Cynthia called out

"Gar." Garchomp cried out as she moved, avoiding the blue flames.

"Dragon Claw!" Cynthia shouted.

Char looked around trying to see where Garchomp would attack, but the veil of sand made it hard to see where his opponent was. Behind the mega Pokemon the sand began to shift bursting out of the sand Garchomp swung her fin at Char,

"Char, use Dragon Tail!" Red shouted

Char's entire tail glowed light blue before he swung his entire body in order to counter the Dragon Claw, the attacks collided creating a shockwave that cleared the sand surrounding the two pokemon they pushed away with the sands consuming them once again.

Garchomp retreated into the sandstorm at a speed that Char could barely make out.

'Shit! This sandstorm is hindering Char's reaction, if we let guard down for one second we could be out' Red thought,

Char looked around in hopes of finding Garchomp, just then he was pelted in the back by a blur shooting out of the sandy veil before retreating back into it. Char turned in the direction of where the blur had vanished only to hit from behind again making the fire dragon stagger, only for Garchomp to continue her assault smashing into Char from all directions.

"Char, focus, close your eyes and feel where she'll come from." Red called out.

"Grrr." Char closed his eyes and flapped in place, the sounds of the wind and sand raged around him. the sands shifted ever so slightly, Char's eyes snapped out just as Garchomp shot out the sand her fins out Char grabbed it along with the other stopping the sand shark dead in her tracks.

"Got ya!." Red grinned. "Now Char, use Seismic Toss."

Char nodded before he flew higher into the air while still holding onto Garchomp, the two broke out of the sandstorm where Char began to spin around for a moment before flying straight down toward the ground.

The two mega evolved slammed into the ground with enough force to nullify the sandstorm, everyone in the stadium looked on in silence, seeing a single dust cloud in the center of the arena. Ash and the others watched as they could barely breathe, as they anxiously waited to see the results.

The dust finally cleared only to see Char still standing while Garchomp was on the ground

"Is, is it over?" Dawn asked

"I don't know, looks like it." Zoey said unsure.

"Classic Ash finisher." Brock grinned, remembering all the times Ash had Charizard finish his opponents with Seismic Toss.

"Yeah dad." Ash cheered.

Red glared at the down Mega Pokemon, something felt off, something in his gut was telling him something wasn't right. And he knew Char could feel the same.

The referee came by and was about to make the announcement "Garchomp is unable to battle, the winner is-" However, before he could finish Garchomp opened her eyes and stood back up.

"No way!" Barry shouted in shock.

"And that Seismic Toss was extremely powerful as well." Kenny said his eyes widened.

"Don't always assume the battle's over just from what you see." Delia told them, just like Red she felt like something wasn't right, even after all the years that past her trainer instincts were still on point.

"Indeed, just before impact, Garchomp used a Dragon Breath to soften the landing." Prof. Oak said

Flashback

Just before Char was about to hit the ground, Garchomp fired a Dragon Breath at the ground just as both of them hit the ground.

Flashback end

"That's what Harrison and his Blazieken did against you Ash," Brock said.

"Yeah, that's how I lost." Ash said remembering Harrison and his Blazieken were able to survive his Charizard's Seismic Toss.

Paul didn't say anything, he honestly thought it was over but Cynthia and her Garchomp were still standing and ready to continue.

"Using Dragon Breath to soften the impact is very clever, I knew something was off." Red said in a calm tone.

Cynthia just chuckled "We aren't going down so easily, right girl?"

"Gar." Garchomp nodded.

"Both pokemon have taken significant damage, these next few moves will probably decide this match." Gary said, seeing the conditions of both pokemon.

"Hmm." Prof. Oak nodded agreeing with his grandson.

"Come Richard." Delia muttered.

Both former champion and champion stared into each other's eyes, both giving off a calm yet intense feeling. Char and Garchomp glared at each other waiting for their trainers' commands.

"Draco Meteor!" Cynthia called out

"Blast Burn!" Red shouted

Garchomp opened its jaws gathering destructive energy

Char's body was engulfed in light blue flames

Garchomp than fired the energy into the air which split apart into multiple balls of energy that began to rain down in front of Garchomp

Char than punched the ground, sending a wave of energy through the earth before it bursts upwards in a giant explosion of red-orange flames

Both attacks were steadily heading towards their opponent until eventually both were hit by their opponents attacks causing a huge explosion to occur, both trainers covered themselves from the force of blasts.

Everyone watched as the explosion subsided revealing both pokemon, who glared at each other. Silence filled the stadium, everyone was anxious it was as if time had simply stopped. Char began to fall backwards making the entire stadium gasped however Char slammed his tail on the forward pushing himself up clenching his claws. Garchomp fell forward hitting the ground with a hard thud, before transforming back to her regular form.

All those in the stadium remained silent even though the referee was at a loss for word before he finally spoke up. "Garchomp is unable to battle, the victor is Charizard and the match goes to Red!" he announced, pointing at Red.

Cheers filled the stadium, Red smiled before running to his starter who had changed back to his regular form. "We did it Char!" Red shouted at his pokemon.

"Rrrgh." Char roared happily, as Red jumped and hugged his ace by the neck.

"Hahahaha." Red laughed.

Cynthia gently patted Garchomp on the head and smiled. "You did great, you deserve a rest."

"Gar…" Garchomp nodded before she returned to her pokeball.

"I can't believe… he did!" Barry shouted pumping his fist with excitement

"That was the most intense battle I've ever seen." Brock said

"I know right." Dawn agreed

"Piplup, pip." Piplup agreed

"The two of them are incredible." Zoey smiled, she was amazed by the end result of the two champions.

"Dad was right, Red lives up to what is told about him." Gary said, crossing his arms.

"You got that right." Conway said as he finished typing out the last of the data.

"Yeah dad!" Ash cheered happily.

"Pi Pika chu!" Pika mimicked his trainer.

Delia and Prof. Oak didn't say anything, they smiled, turned to each other and nodded.

Paul stood up and made his way to the exit of the stadium having seen the end result, it was time to move on. The battle had given him not only insight on how both champions he began thinking of new strategies and moves to use in the future.

(Kanto)

Flint smiled as his kids all cheered for Red, Lolo looked at her husband and smiled as well.

"He hasn't lost his touch hasn't he?" Lolo asked.

Flint shook his head. "Hmmhmm, not at all."

Misty clapped her hands as she and her water pokemon celebrated Red's victory however unknown to them a transparent woman who looked exactly like Misty only with longer hair wearing a blue tank top and blue jean shorts smiled before vanishing.

"Heh, well done baby." Surge grinned, crossing his arms as Raichu copied his posture.

Erika grinned as she cupped her hands together. "Amazing Red, you did great." She smiled.

Sabrina, her family and Haunter celebrated Red's victory as her Father only grinned happily to see the former champion win the battle.

Koga and Janine didn't say anything, Janine looked at her father who simply nodded as they both vanished from the room to continue their training.

Blaine just smiled at Red's victory while he rested on his plane trip.

Giovanni just looked at the screen with a scowl, before turning it off. "Hmph." he huffed before he left the room to begin planning for his scheme in Unova.

"He did, he won!" Bonnie cheered, jumping up and down.

"They are excretory." the boy said, adjusting his glasses.

"Yes, they were. I hope this gives you inspiration to improve your battling skills along with your inventions Clemont." the man smirked.

"Right dad." Clemont smirked.

"I'm a little hungry." Bonnie said, hubbing her tummy. "Clemont, can you make me something to eat."

"Sure Bonnie come on." Clemont said.

With that the two left the room, leaving only their parents. Their father looked at their mother and smiled.

"Are you happy to see him after all these years, right Yukina?" he asked.

The Yellow closed her eyes and smiled. "Yes, Meyer, I always wanted to see my childhood hero again."

Yukina Yellow of the Viridian Grove, she used to live in the region of Kanto many years ago. She had met Red years ago and back then he had caught her a pokemon and she ever since then looked up to him. During her travels she arrived in Kalos where she met Meyer who she would eventually marry. Which Red attended with Green along with Blue who was one of her bridesmaids. Although back then she had a crush on Red and wanted to marry him but Delia or Blue beat her to the punch but she was happy for them and they were happy for her.

Meyer smiled as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder as she rested her head on his. As they continued to watch.

Green looked over at the crowd who were cheering for his old friend. The trainer couldn't help but be happy for Red for not just winning but also finally got his battle spirit back. Green grabbed a brown cloak with a hood and threw it on as he walked out of the Pokemon Center without another word as he couldn't wait for when he and Red would battle once again.

"You did amazing Char, you deserve a long rest." Red said.

"Roaaar…" Char let out a low roar as Red turned the fire lizard to his pokeball.

"Red." Cynthia said as she walked up to him. "I must thank you for that great battle, you and your pokemon have pushed me and mine further than anything possible."

Red smiled. "Thanks, and you did the same for me and my pokemon. I honestly thought I had lost. And I look forward to when we battle again Cynthia."

Red held out a hand, which Cynthia took as they both shook showing a new found respect for eachother.

"Richard!" Delia's voice called out from behind them.

Red turned as Delia jumped at him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Delia, what are you doing here?" Red asked, he didn't expect to see his wife here at all.

Letting go Delia waved her finger back and forth and winked. "You think I would miss my husband who I haven't seen in seven years, battle do you?"

"Ehehe, I guess not…." Red laughed sheepishly rubbing the back of his head.

"Although…!" Delia frowned as she poked his chest. "I had hoped you would at least call once in a while! You still can't keep track of time can you?"

Red laughed a bit "No…I guess not." Red said awkwardly.

Cynthia just giggled at the couple's interactions, she didn't think Red even had a wife she guessed there was a lot about him that she and the world still didn't know.

Red then noticed a group of people following behind Delia, he recognized Green's dad and his son and a young man who he had to guess was Flint's he could see the resemblance the 5 of them he didn't recognize but the last was.

"Ash…" Red muttered, looking at his son for the first time in years, he could see that the little boy he saw 7 years ago wasn't a little boy anymore but a young teenager nearly 15.

"Richard, that amazing battle my man." Professor Oak smiled. "It's been so long since I've seen you."

"Heh, long time no see old man, I see you're still kicking." Red joked.

Professor Oak frowned, not exactly liking the old joke.

"You were so awesome!" Barry exclaimed as he ran up to Red with stars in his eyes. "The way you and your pokemon battle Cynthia and her pokemon was beyond amazing!"

Red was taken aback by the blond boy's burst of excitement. "Ahh, thanks." Red said.

"Oh I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Barry." Barry introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you." Red smiled.

"Hello, I would like to introduce myself." Conway said, adjusting his glasses. "My name is Conway. I've followed you for a long time, and I have to say you have far exceeded previous records."

"My previous records?" Red questioned, from the looks of this kid he seemed to rely on data and past battle records of his opponents to form his strategies which he had encountered people like him before.

"Conway is always obsessed with gathering information on people." Dawn smiled. "Oh my name is Dawn and this is my partner Piplup."

"Piplup." Piplup puffed his chest.

"My name is Brock, I believe my dad talked about you." Brock introduced himself.

"Yep, and I've heard about you as well." Red smiled, he looked at Gary. "I see you've grown up, you must be an amazing trainer like your dad."

"Sorry." Gary shook his head. "I gave up on my pokemon journey to follow in grandpa's footsteps and become a researcher."

Red just grinned. "That's good, you've chosen your own path and I'm sure your dad would be proud of that."

Gary smiled and nodded.

"Hey, my name is Kenny and I have to say your skills are cool, and that Mega Evolution thing is really something." Kenny said.

"Heh, thanks. I learned it years ago, if you have a strong bond with your pokemon." Red smiled.

"The name's Zoey, although I'm coordinator I was impressed with both you and Cynthia's skills with your pokemon." Zoey said.

"Hmm, a coordinator huh? I have a few friends who are coordinators, that means you and your pokemon must be really close." Red replied.

"Thanks." Zoey smiled.

Red then turned to Ash who looked like he was having trouble trying to find the right words to say. Red didn't blame him, it has been 7 years since they had really seen each other, the older trainer wondered what his son thought. Was he angry at him?

Delia elbowed Red, gesturing for him to talk to his own son. Taking a deep breath Red walked over to Ash. "Hey…." Red awkwardly greeted Ash..

"Hey dad." Ash said.

"Humm…" Red awkwardly rubbed the back of his head trying to find the right words to say. "Nice hat…" he said, gesturing to Ash's hat.

"You too…" Ash replied.

Red looked over to Dawn and Zoey. "I see you're a ladies man, two girlfriends?" Red joked.

Ash's face turned beet red. "Dad! They aren't my girlfriends!" Ash shouted with embarrassment.

Dawn blushed equally red and Zoey did as well.

Red just chuckled at his son and the girls' embarrassment.

"Um sir." The announcer walked up to the group.

"Yeah." Red said.

"We still have the closing ceremony." The Announcer reminded him.

"That's right, we need to do the closing ceremony." Cynthia remembered.

Red nodded before turning to Ash. "We'll talk later ok?"

Ash simply nodded soon after he, Delia and the others left the arena, Red and Cynthia stood on a stage as the announcer gave a speech about both champion and former champion with how they had both demonstrated not just their skills but also the bonds they shared with their pokemon, as he prepared to give Red the trophy the former champion then asked if he could say a few words, the Announcer nodded and gave him the mike.

Red looked out to the stadium, he saw his family along with their friends back in their seats. Clearing his throat he then spoke into the microphone. "I wanted to say a few things. I thank you for the opportunity to battle in your region, and to your champion Cynthia who has given me a battle I will not soon forget." he said, gesturing to Cynthia who smiled.

"She has reminded me that regardless of how good you are there will be people who are strong enough to push you to limits that you've never thought possible." Red said, as he looked around. "For 7 years I've been in a slump because I was too good, I figured I had reached my limit as a trainer. But today has changed that, today it has shown me that the journey of a pokemon trainer or coordinator is limitless and that my journey has led me here."

The crowd cheered as Red held up his hand, calming them down. "And I believe my journey is far from over just like yours, in fact it's only just beginning so for here I say this regardless of who you are, remember this as long as you love and trust in yourself and in your pokemon your journey will never truly end… thank you Sinnoh for teaching me that."

The entire stadium erupted into cheers as confetti rained down from all over, Red turned to announcer and accepted the trophy and held it up. Ash and others clapped, and cheered all of them feeling inspired by his words, even Team Rocket cried from his words as it inspired them to continue on their mission to capture Pikachu.

Soon Red and Cynthia dropped their pokemon off at the Pokemon Center to recover. Once giving their pokemon to Nurse Joy, Red's stomach growled making the former champion chuckle along with the others especially those who knew Ash and they could tell that Red was definitely his dad. Delia decided to cook everyone dinner with Nurse Joy's permission to use the Center's Kitchen while Conway asked about Red's exploits as the Trainer, which Red told him in every detail about his journey. Even telling them about how he and Delia met which Dawn and Zoey listened to intently as he told them that his wife was a thief in their youth she stole from professor oak along with stealing his badges which Professor Oak confirmed Ash couldn't believe that his mom stole from Professor Oak, that's when Delia came out with everyone's dinner Dawn and Zoey asked her more about Red and Her's past even Cynthia wanted to know more about it.

After eating Ash and Pikachu outside the Center looking up at the stars, many things were on his mind.

Red then walked outside with Pika alongside him "So, son. How have you been these days?" Red asked

"I've been doing great?" Ash said

The moment between father and son became more awkward with silence, Pikachu and Pika were pretty much the same as they looked at each other before turning back to their trainers.

"I've saw you compete in the indigo plateau as well as the other Pokemon leagues up until now." Red said

"Heh, you think I'm the worst trainer there is right?" Ash asked, remembering how he lost in the Indigo League while his dad won it on his first try and he hasn't won any of the other leagues.

"It could have happened to anyone, son, I mean. Pika acted just like Charizard for a time and you did great in the other Pokemon leagues." Red smiled.

"Rai, Rai." Pika nodded.

"Pika Pi." Pikachu also nodded in agreement.

Both Pika and Pikachu looked at each other and smiled.

Ash smiled. "Thanks, Charizard was definitely a handful but now we are tight." remembering when Charizard would not listen to him until that battle with that Poliwrath.

Red smiled happily to hear that. "Do you hate me Gray?" he asked, calling Ash by his nickname.

Ash hadn't heard his nickname in seven years and his dad's question made him wonder if he hated his dad? Then he thought back to Brock and his Dad, his dad had left on a pokemon journey but he failed and he was so ashamed that he watched his kids from afar leaving Brock to take care of his younger siblings while also being the Gym Leader, but Brock didn't hate his dad he forgave him.

"I don't hate you dad." Ash answered, closing his eyes. "But I do wish you were there for me and mom for all those years."

Red sighed his son didn't hate, but he did bring up a good point: he wasn't there for him or Delia and that hurt more.

"Your right son." Red sighed. "but I do have something I wanted to give to you if I were to see you."

"Huh?" Ash wondered what it was.

Red reached into his cape and pulled out a Pokemon egg. "Here son, something to make up for all those birthdays that I've missed." Red smiled

"A pokemon egg?" Ash uttered as he took the egg in both hands.

"Pika?" Pikachu turned to Pika.

"Rai, Rai Richu." Raichu replied.

"I bred my Espeon Vee a few weeks back." Red explained.

Ash smiled as a few tears poured down his cheeks. "Th-thanks dad…" Ash said. "This is the best present you've ever given me."

"Pika." Pikachu rubbed against his leg.

"Hehehe, why are you crying you little Mankey!" Red wrapped his arm around Ash's neck before giving him nuggie.

"Ahaha! Dad, stop! I'm going to drop the egg!" Ash laughed, as he tried to break free from his dad's hold.

Pikachu and Pika giggled as Pika wrapped her tail on Pikachu's body and pulled him closer as the Raichu nuzzled Pikachu who nuzzled back.

Delia watched from a far with tears of joy dripping down her cheeks, she was happy to see her Husband and Son rekindling along with Pika and Pikachu. She walked back into the pokemon center allowing her boys to have a moment, plus it would be fun to tell everyone about some of her husband's most embarrassing secrets behind his back since he did tell everyone about her life as a thief, something he had sworn to keep secret.

'Payback's a bitch dear.' Delia grinned

A week later on an island that to no one's knowledge was once known as New Island, the headquarters of Mewtwo. A grassy field overlooking a cliff with sounds of crashing waves hitting against the cliffside below, Wingulls flew overhead.

Green, who was still wearing his cloak, sat on a rock as he looked over the calm blue seas. "Weird place for you to be eh old friend?" A voice came from behind, Green turned to see Red standing behind him.

"I should be asking you the same thing? Mount Silver of all places for 7 years?" Green calmly remarked.

"Hehe, I guess so." Red said walking next to his old friend sitting down next to him.

The two men just looked out at the sea as the gentle breeze blew through the grassy field, silence was all that filled the air and it remained that way until Green broke it.

"Hmph, I saw your battle with Cynthia while I was in Alola, you two put on quite a show." Green said with a small grin.

"Yeah." Red said, closing his eyes. "One of the toughest battles I've had in years, I honestly thought I would lose."

"Boy you've changed, back when we were kids you weren't afraid of taking up a challenge." Green remarked.

"You've changed too. I remember you being cold and distant." Red said with a smart smile. "I saw your son. He's a Pokemon researcher." Red told Green.

Green closed his eyes and nodded. "I'm glad he found his own path." Green couldn't be anymore proud of Gary, and he knew his father was too having someone to continue the family business of researching pokemon.

"So what are you planning to do now that your midlife crisis is over?" Green asked. "Planning to fully retire and move back to Pallet?"

"Nope, at least not yet." Red answered as he looked to the sky. "I plan to take back my world champion title, also do you remember what will happen in a few years time?"

Green looked at his friend and thought about it before he understood. "The Masters 8?" Green answered, the Masters 8 was a worldwide tournament to decide who was the world's greatest trainer, trainers from all over the world are able to enter.

"Yeah, I'm planning to challenge the champion Leon. I heard that he has a Charizard as well." Red smiled "And this Dynamax phenomenon is interesting as well, I'm wondering if Char could Gigantamax,"

"I know that phenomenon, I've been to Galar and I have to say it's no joke." Green said with a smug grin.

"You've mastered it didn't you?" Red asked, of course, he did. Green was never one to miss out on an opportunity to get stronger.

"While you are on that mountain for 7 years, I've been traveling. Want another shot at the title?" Green challenged. "Or was that victory in Sinnoh a fluke?"

Red just huffed as he smiled. "You're on Asshat." Red accepted the challenge.

Both Red and Green moved to the middle of the field and both threw out their Pokeballs.

Red called out his starter Char, while Green called out his starter Blastoise both pokemon appeared in a flash of white light.

Both Pokemon glared at each other ready for their trainers to give them commands

"Thunderpunch," Red shouted

Char roared as his first was electrified before he flew at Blastoise

"Use Gyro Ball." Green said

Blastoise went into his shell before spinning while taking the thunder punch from Char reducing the damage

"I see that you've still got your skills." Red smiled

"Same to you, but I've picked up a few things over the years." Green countered."Use Shell Smash!"

Blastoise while spinning became outlined in a white glow. A faint red glow surrounds it and disappears in a burst. Lines of a blue aura shoot down its body and an orange aura shoot up its body, lowering its defenses and increasing its attack power and speed.

The Gyro Ball eventually overpowered the Thunder Punch pushing Char back before Blastoise exited his shell

"Hydro Pump!" Green shouted.

Blastoise unleashed its cannons before it fired a high-pressured stream of water at the downed Char.

"Quick, get up and use Rock Tomb." Red shouted

Char's eyes opened as he fired a red orb of energy at the ground which created a solid wall of rock in front of him which blocked the hydro pump which gave him enough time to fly out of the wall before it shattered

"Cleave." Green grinned. "But it's time we stop holding back."

"Agreed." Red smiled back.

Red showed his Mega Stone. "Char Mega Evolve!" Red shouted as he touched the Mega Stone which caused streams of energy to resonate from the mega stone as well as the key stone together

Green however, returned Blastoise to his Pokeball before streams of energy from his Dynamax band cause the Pokeball to grow bigger making it resemble a basketball in size before he threw it

When Blastioise reappeared he was gigantic, his eyes are white with bright blue sclerae. Its blue arms, head and legs change to light blue, and the underside of its shell becomes dark red. Its shell transforms into a battleship-like formation, with 31 cannons of different sizes: sets of twin cannons emerge from hexagon and rectangle-shaped holes within the shell, and a main cannon protrudes from the center. Several white triangular spots are located on its tail and legs. Three red clouds surround the main cannon.

When Red saw the now Gigantamax Blastoise he was awestruck "Damn! That's huge!" Red said in awe."He's like a fortress combined with a battleship now."

"This is the power that me and Blastoise have mastered, you're mega evolution stands no chance." Green boasted.

"We'll see about that." Red smirked with an intense grin "Ready Char?"

"Rrragh." Char roared, agreeing with his trainer as he took to the sky.

"Hydro Cannon!"

"Blast Burn!"

Char threw his head back before firing an intense stream of blue flames, while Blastoise unleashed a high-pressure blast of water from all four holes on his back. The two attacks clashed, generating massive force that began to cause the island itself to shake from the intense force. Red and Green grinned both enjoying the battle as the two attacks exploded creating a blinding light engulfing all four.

A/N: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, I hope it was up to your standards. This story was based on most of the Manga along with the games. You've seen many easter eggs with many past friends and rivals of Red watching the match between Red and Cynthia. Cynthia had been training in Kalos to master Mega Evolution for the battle. And I added in Yellow who is the mother of Clemont and Bonnie in this story. I got the idea cause I think Yellow and Bonnie look alike. I hope I did both trainers justice and the last Battle Between Red and Green has ended with no definitive winner cause that's the beauty of Red and Green's battle at the end it's up to speculation. and yeah we have pokemon using so many moves let's face it in the anime pokemon forgetting moves so in this story they have access to many moves. There are many things I've added to the lore like Pikachu being the Son of Pika who is female in this story and Red giving Ash an Eevee egg to make up for being out of his life for so long. And Big thanks to Siegwurm-Nova aka Skylander Zilla who has changed his name. along with Sandshrew Master for their help with this fanfiction.
