Even Former Punks Need Friends - Who Rules This School?!

"~It's been a week since I've transferred to this school. So far no ones figured out that I'm a former punk...Then why don't I have any friends yet?~"

Kuboyasu sat alone at his desk while his classmates were up and about, chatting with one another.

"~Before it was as simple as beating up guys who wanted to fight me but now that I can't fight. How am I supposed to make friends? Just sitting here ain't doing me good. I gotta go talk!~"

Kuboyasu stood up from his desk and the first person he laid eyes on was a dead-eyed Nendou.

"~Well he's out. I can't hang out with another punk.~"

Next was Takahashi, who was sporting the same dead-eyed blank stare as Nendou.

"~His face ticks me off, I'd punch him without thinking.~" Kuboyasu looked around the room some more. "~Hmmm..that guy could work names uh…? I can't remember, I'll give this weakling a shot.~"

Kuboyasu walked down the desks aisle before putting a hand on Saiki's shoulder.

"Yo I'm Kuboyasu you-"

"Wanna throw down punk?"

Whether Kuboyasu actually heard Saiki or chose to ignore him, isn't clear but he still chose to talk to Saiki. Kuboyasu was telling a rather interesting story, which obviously involved fighting, and Saiki remained still in his seat facing forward, not really paying attention.

"How annoying. I've been ignoring him, but he just keeps going on and on about some dumb Yakuza movie he saw, and he's terrible at summaries. How many guys are there? This is enough, I hate to use this technique but it's time to use...my annoyed face."

Saiki turned to Kuboyasu pulling a rather displeased face which put the purple-haired teens talking to a screeching halt.

"See you don't need psychic powers to drive people away."

"Oh…" Kuboyasu started to back up with an awkward smile. "Alright see ya."

When his back was to Saiki, Kuboyasu's face twisted into a rather furious frown.

"~How dare that goody-goody give me such an annoying look. Although I did learn something. I got nothing in common with these people.~"

"Hey, newbie."

Kuboyasu looked up to see Kaidou.

"I am the Jet Black Wings…"

Kaidou started to go on and on about his powers and other various things but Kuboyasu was just plain confused.

"~This guys is hopeless, I can't understand a word these normal people say.~"

"Yeah, there's nothing normal about that guy."

"...You must complete the grand cross," Kaidou said

"~Grand Cross?! I've heard of that!~

What Kuboyasu was thinking of was a biker gang, so very far off from what Kaidou was talking about.

"The legendary crew!" Kuboyasu said

"You've heard about it?" Kaidou gasped

"Not the same thing."

"Yeah, they completely wiped out Samantha and Paramount," Kuboyasu said

"Wow, I can't believe you've heard about Samantha and Paramount, too," Kaidou said

"Quite the coincidence."

Kuboyasu was walking down the vacant halls of the school alone.

"~Glad I finally found someone with common interest.~"

"Hey!" Reita popped up next to Kuboyasu. "You the new transfer student?

"Yeah?" Kuboyasu said

"~Who the hell is this kid?~"

Reita grabbed Kuboyasu's hands with a bright smile as he started shaking his hands up and down.

"Hi, I'm Reita. I transferred in just like you did."

"You came in second year too?"

"No, it was a long time ago. Let's see it was second term of year two…" Reita counted on his hand before trailing off. "Anyway this school is crawling with cute girls!" Reita exclaimed, throwing an arm over Kuboyasu's shoulder.

"~Don't act like we're buds!~"

"Oh, by the way, were there any hot chicks at your old school?" Reita asked

"~Well, guess at this point I need all the friends I can get.~"

"Well, I actually went to an all-boys school so…" Kuboyasu said

Reita stopped talking, all his friendless gone as he slid away from Kuboyasu. He turned around and started jogging away quickly leaving the area.

!

"~What a creep! All he cares about is hitting on girls. And he calls himself a man!~"

"Ah, your Kuboyasu, that right?" Teruhashi spoke, appearing before Kuboyasu, giving him one of her patent smiles.

"Uh-Uh-Oh hell," Kuboyasu stuttered

"Are you settling in okay? I'm Kokomi Teruhashi, I'm in your class. Hope you remember me." Teruhashi said

"~As if in a million years he could ever forget about me. But why'd he say 'Oh hell' and not 'Oh wow'?~"

Teruhashi strutted off leaving behind a blushing Kuboyasu.

"~I've never seen a chick like her. Hell, I've suddenly got the urge to tattoo I live 4 Kokomi on my arm.~" Kuboyasu started to shake his head. "~I sound like that creep! Don't give in to your urges~"

"Never give in!"

?!

Down the hall was Hairo, sweating buckets as he did a series of sit-ups.

"You can do it! Push yourself!"

"~This guy is our class rep, what the hell is he doing sit-ups in the hallway?~" Kuboyasu turned around. "~Whatever I gotta keep my distance from weirdos like him.~"

"Go Hairo!"

"You're on fire!"

"~Huh?!~"

Kuboyasu turned around to see Hairo surrounded by other male class members.

"~Wait, he's popular?! How is that possible!~"

"Hey, Kuboyasu want to do some sit-ups with me?" Hairo asked

"Forget it Hairo, Kuboyasu doesn't look like he's into sports."

"Yeah, he's all skin and bones."

Kuboyasu's brows furrowed in anger, "~Let's see how you feel after I break all your bones.~"

"Not cool you guys. You shouldn't judge someone you don't know based on appearance. Honestly, it's wrong to judge anybody whether you know them or not. Only you can decide what your limits are," Hairo said

Kuboyasu gaped, staring at Hairo. "~This guy... He sounds just like my old gang leader. I never thought I would find someone like him here.~"

Kuboyasu held his hand out. "Aren Kuboyasu. Nice to meet ya."

Hairo smiled shaking Kuboyasu's hand. "Yeah likewise."

"~He's the first person I've actually wanted to be friends with.~"

"Hey, why were you doing sit-ups in the hallway?" Kuboyasu asked

"There's a really strong guy I need to beat," Hairo said

"~Whoa, someone's stronger than him wonder who he could be?~"

"~Him?!~"

Kuboyasu got his answer as he stared at the zoned out Nendou.

"~Wait is he so crazy that beating a guy doesn't even count as a war story?! My fighting senses are tingling I got-~"

"Hey, buddy what's up?" Nendou called out.

"~Buddy? You mean there's another kid at the same level as the guy that Hairo can't beat?~"

Kuboyasu followed Nendou's eyes only to see Saiki.

"~Him?! I've gone full circle back to him? I know we're not supposed to judge people but this can't be right!~"

"So how's plan alpha coming Saiki?" Kaidou asked

"Hey, Saiki!" Reita greeted

"How are you doing today, Saiki?" Teruhashi asked

"Hey there, Saiki." Hairo greeted

Within a matter of seconds, Saiki's desk was swarmed with people.

Kuboyasu gaped watching the whole thing. "~What is going on? Everyone's fawning over that goody-goody. Could it be he's the one pulling the strings?!~"

"I will never use my annoyed face again."

Saiki bore his annoyed face but that didn't seem to bother anyone around him.

"Wow Saiki that is some face you're making there."

Standing at the doorway was a snickering Lotus. Where had she been this entire chapter? Why helping out a teacher with some important work!

Saiki looked at Lotus and no words were needed for her to understand what he wanted.

"Yo guys what's up!" Lotus greeted walking over.

"Oh hey, girl buddy!" Nendou greeted

"Warrior Queen, have you spotted any villainous activity today?" Kaidou asked

"Lotus, sup!" Hairo greeted

"Lotus, how lovely," Teruhashi said

"~See a perfect girl like me can converse civilly with her rival.~"

Lotus started to engage everyone in conversation taking all their focus off of Saiki. She glanced over at the pink hair boy giving him a secretive wink.

Once again Kuboyasu was gaping. "~What the?! That girl barely said four words and suddenly she's got everyone around her like that! Is it possible...she's actually the big boss here!~"

Kuboyasu stared at Lotus and as someone moved out the way, he finally got a clear look at her face and his jaw dropped.

"~ It's her! The super-strong super hot chick!~"

"The who now?"

"~No way! What are the odds-That girly boy! Now I know why he looked so familiar! He was that little scrawny guy she was protecting!~"

"Oh...now I know what he's talking about." Lotus went through Kuboyasu's mind his memory of their first meeting playing. "So he's that blonde biker gang leader? Wow, he really looks like a different person."

"She's definitely gotta be the boss! With her looks and strength, she probably rules this whole school!~" Kuboyasu thought

"No...No I don't."

"~Then that means…~" Kuboyasu looked to Saiki. "~That goody-goody guy must be like her right-hand man or something. Like co-bosses of a gang!~"

"Geeze talk about a wild imagination."
