Lotus Meets Saiki - The Firstborn One That Is

"I'm so excited!"

Lotus watched as her excited sister darted around her room gathering papers and folders, putting them in a bag.

Why was Violet so excited, you might ask? Today she was leaving for a special conference where she'll get to present one of her projects as well as make connections and learn more about the scientific medical community. Violet would be gone several days as the conference would be a week-long event.

"I can't wait, I'll be showing off my work to some of the brightest minds of our generation!" Violet exclaimed

"That'd be fantastic. I'm sure that whatever you get to show they'll be awed. I know if I were involved in the science community I'd be impressed by you," Lotus said

Violet stopped moving, dropping her bag.

"Violet?"

"Oh, Lotus!" Violet jumped, grabbing her sister in a tight hug. "It doesn't matter what others think of my work as long as you love it! No! Since you love it, I'll show it to all and make sure that they love it too. Anything that my little Lotus loves is a true gem and should be spread and shared with all! I'll do my best Lotus and won't give up until they see my work!"

"G-Glad I could help."

Ethan, Violet, and Lotus were all at the train station ready to send Violet off. Her conference was almost across the country, so she'd be taking a train there.

"Alright, I'm off!" Violet said about to board.

"Wait!" Ethan shouted, sliding before Violet on one knee, camera up at the ready. "I must take a picture to commemorate my darling love, Violet! You look ravishing in your attire!"

Lotus felt awkward, but she loved that Ethan loved her sister so much.

Violet giggled as she did a few poses, Ethan snapping dozens of photos.

The young adult was dressed in nice business casual, of course, made by Ethan. Violet wore a white knee-length skirt and a lavender button-up blouse the same shade as her hair. Over her blouse was a white blazer. To finish it off, she had on some white kitten heels embellished with lavender accents.

"You're gonna make her miss her train."

Violet stepped aboard and rushed to her seat just so she could get to the window. She threw the window open and started to give her goodbyes.

"Bye, bye! I love you both!" Violet waved blowing kisses to Ethan and Lotus.

Ethan waved enthusiastically and Lotus gave out an awkward chuckle due to all the eyes on them and the fact that the train wouldn't be leaving soon, as more people still were in line to board.

When the train finally started to leave the station Ethan and Violet still waved with just as much energy as they did before. Lotus smiled and waved back but a more controlled manner.

It was late that afternoon, Lotus was in her room reading when a horrible scream rang throughout the home. Sir Henry, who had been resting on his bed, fell to the floor startled. Yami's head lifted up from its resting position atop his paws as his ears stood upright.

Lotus stood up so fast from her seat that she knocked her chair to the floor.

"What?! Ethan!"

Lotus booked it down the hall, almost sliding into a wall thanks to her sock-clad feet, running to her sisters and Ethan's room. As she entered Lotus found Ethan, on the ground, on all fours looking under the bed. His body trembled as peered beneath the bed.

"Ethan? What's wrong!? What happened!" Lotus quickly asked

"It..It's…" Ethan reached under the bed, pulling something out. "It's this!" He exclaimed, showing Lotus a purple folder.

Lotus blinked, her adrenaline immediately dying out.

"A...folder? Hey, isn't that Violet's?"

"Yes! It's one of her folders for her project! She must've dropped it by accident or it-it must've fallen out of her bag and it slid under the bed! Lotus this is a catastrophe, do you know how Violet will react when she finds this missing?!" Ethan shouted

"Like you are right now?"

"We have to get this to her right away!" Ethan ran to the stairs, skipping almost half the steps to reach the front door. He hopped around trying to hold the folder while also attempting to throw on his shoes. "Don't worry darling Ethan is coming!"

"Ethan! Hold on! Don't you have a deadline for some outfits!" Lotus called

Ethan gasped and stopped, tripping over his own feet, falling face first in the door. He let out a second gasp as his head shot up.

"Your right! But...I can't just abandon Violet when she's in need! Its decided, I'll just have to miss my deadline to get this to Violet!" Ethan declared

"No, you won't!"

Lotus plucked the folder out of Ethan's hands. "I'll take it! Don't you worry, I'll make sure Violet gets her folder."

"All right Ethan, I'm ready to go!"

The next day, first thing in the morning, Lotus stood at the front door dressed in a simple outfit. Or at least simple in terms of what Ethan always put her in.

Lotus was wearing an off pink long-sleeved shirt with a mock turtleneck, a dark red circle skirt, with a black belt hanging loosely around the waist of the skirt, and a pair of black boots. To complete the outfit, she had a red beret with a black pom atop the hat.

Lotus had a bag on her shoulder, making sure that Violet's folder was safely tucked away, along with a large bento and a few snacks.

"I also packed Violet a lunch for today and a few snacks so she won't have to eat out as much," Lotus called out.

There were loud footsteps and Ethan came running over. He dove for a hug, but Lotus dodged it. Not phased at all, Ethan stood up facing Lotus.

"You're such a wonderful little sister! Good luck my adorable little Lotus go forth and make sure my dear Violet receives her precious folder!"

"Always so dramatic."

Ethan grabbed Lotus's hand and put something in it. "And take this to protect yourself."

Ethan beamed as Lotus blanched. Her future in-law had handed her a pink taser.

"Yeeaah no….and how to do you keep getting these things in pink!?"

"Good thing Violet texted us pictures of her hotel room."

Lotus had teleported herself right into Violet's hotel room, bouncing slightly as she landed on the springy hotel bed.

"Hmm…" Lotus glanced around the room. "No, Violet."

She took Violet's folder out of the bag, putting it on the table along with the snacks.

"There. I should give Violet her lunch though, I'm sure she won't be coming back to her room before it gets cold."

Lotus exited the room, making her way down to the hotel lobby. She exited the hotel and went across the street to the convention center.

"Wow, this place is nice," Lotus awed walking around the place.

Following the signs, Lotus easily found her way to where Violet would be located.

"Now let's see Violet said the lectures were going on in the main halls and those working on setting up projects are in the smaller ones. So Violet should be in….this one! Subhall Blue."

Lotus made her way to the proper location, going up and down halls and turning various corners. When she turned her second to the last corner, she spotted the familiar lavender hair of her sister.

"Violet!" She shouted, getting her sister's attention.

Violet turned around and gasped. She ran over to her sister and grabbed her in a crushing hug.

"What a delightful surprise! My little Lotus has come all this way to see me!" Violet gushed, rubbing her cheek on her little sister's head. After a minute or two, she finally let go of Lotus. "Wait how did you get here? A train right would take all day?" Violet gasped. "Don't tell me you rode the train all night! That's so dangerous!" Violet pulled Lotus back into an even tighter hug. "Are you okay? Did any perverts try to touch you?!"

"V-Violet...please air-air-I need air! Tap out! Tap out!" Lotus struggled, tapping her sister's back.

Violet let go of Lotus and the pink-haired girl let out a gasp, taking in some much-needed air.

"I-I teleported into your hotel room," Lotus whispered

"Ooooooh!" Violet smiled. "Well, that's fine. What made you come all this way?" She asked

"You dropped one of your folders. Ethan found it under your guy's bed," Lotus said

"What?!" Violet gasped

"Yeah, I brought it and left it in your hotel room," Lotus said

"Oh, thank goodness. I'm so lucky to have you and Ethan looking after me!" Violet gushed

Lotus held up the wrapped bento. "I also packed this for you. I left some snacks in your room too."

Violet got a teary-eyed smile before sweeping Lotus into her third tight hug. "You're so sweet and cute! I'm so blessed to have such an adorable little sister like you!"

"Well, isn't this a pleasant sight."

Violet stopped cuddling Lotus and the two sisters looked towards whoever had spoken.

There was a tall guy with light blonde hair with a strange tiara looking device on his head, standing behind the girls.

He smiled at the two. "I've never seen siblings get along so well before. You two must really love one another."

Violet gripped Lotus tighter, smothering the girl. "There's nothing more precious in this world than, my adorable little Lotus! If you tried to measure my love for her it'd be impossible because it's infinite."

"Can't breathe." Lotus choked out.

The guy chuckled. "She seems a little young to be attending the convention?"

"Yes, I'm the one here for it. I'm in the engineering medical program at my university," Violet answered

"Then you must be very smart."

"Why thank you!" Violet smiled. "I'm Violet Yamaguchi and this is my adorable little sister Lotus."

"Nice to meet you two as well. I'm Saiki Kusuke."

Both sisters blinked, staring at the blonde.

". . . . . Did you just say, Saiki?"

"Do you have psychic powers too!?" Violet shouted, getting in Kusuke's face.

"Violet, don't yell that so loudly!" Lotus scolded

Lucky for them the hallway they were in was empty and Lotus couldn't sense anyone close enough to hear their conversation.

"Psychic powers," Kusuke mumbled. "Judging by your reactions and question, I could only conclude that you two know my little brother Kusuo, right?"

"Yes, we do! We live just across the street from your family. Lotus goes to school with little Ku," Violet said

"Little Ku?" Kusuke said

Kusuke looked over to Lotus and he finally caught sight of the pink orb necklace she was wearing.

"That necklace..." Kusuke asked

"My necklace?" Lotus looked down, grabbing the pink orb. "Saiki gave it to me."

Kusuke smiled, but something about it felt off. "I never would have imagined…..Would you two lady's mind stepping into my workspace? I'd love to have a chat with you two."

"Why do I feel like things are going to get weird?"

"So you're the one who made this necklace?" Lotus asked

Kusuke nodded his head. "Yup, I also made the hair antennas Kusuo wears on his head. I thought he wanted another limiter, so that's why I was so surprised to see you wearing it."

"He gave it to me as Christmas gift," Lotus said

"I see….you must be one special girl then for Kusuo to go through all the trouble," Kusuke said

Lotus blushed, looking down.

"Little Ku gave it to Lotus as an expression of the love he has for her," Violet added

"Violet!" Lotus shouted, her cheeks growing red.

"It's so lovely. Your brother will make the perfect boyfriend for my little sister. He's so kind, respectful, and protective. He makes the perfect weapon in my arsenal when I can't be there to defend Lotus from nasty perverts," Violet explained

"Violet," Lotus sweatdropped, cheeks still red.

"Plus, as an added bonus when he and Lotus get married their babies are gonna be adorable! Can you imagine a plethora of pink-haired, fair-skinned little angels!" Violet exclaimed

"Violet!" Lotus shouted

Her cheeks were now on fire. They were so hot she was pretty sure she could cook a four-course meal on them.

"So I was right, you are Kusuo's girlfriend. I never thought I'd see the day," Kusuke said

"No! No! No! No!" Lotus waved her hands, her face burning red. "I-I mean we-uhm-it's complicated!"

Kusuke laughed and Lotus couldn't help but get the feeling he was enjoying watching the poor embarrassed girl squirm.

"So you have feelings for my brother but have yet to express it, huh?" Kusuke said

"Well…" Lotus rubbed the back of her head, looking away. "That is somewhat of a recent development. Plus, I know how troublesome he finds things like that, so I didn't want to be a bother or put any unnecessary tension between us."

"Well, why don't you just read his mind and you-"

"No way!" Lotus exclaimed, cutting Kusuke's off.

"Huh?" Kusuke blinked, a bit confused.

"That's out of the question. I will not invade Saiki's privacy like that. I try to avoid reading his mind as much as I can. Sometimes I accidentally do slip up, but I still don't purposefully read his mind. I don't want to abuse the power that he can't help but share with me. I know Saiki feels his powers are a burden and he might not show it, but it causes him a lot of stress and weight on his shoulders, so...I want to be the kind of person who Saiki can feel normal around. Since his powers don't work on me I want to be able to help lift some of that weight off his shoulders. If he has feelings for me, then I'll wait for that day to come when he tells me himself. Not because I read his mind!"

The room was silent after Lotus's little speech before Kusuke started clapping.

"Wow, now you are an odd little variable," Kusuke said

"Variable?"

"Lotus...that was so beautiful!" Violet said

"Are you crying?!"

Violet had pulled out a handkerchief and was dabbing away some tears that had come to her eyes.

"It's pretty amazing for my brother to hang around a girl who would draw in so much attention but now I'm starting to see why. Your one strange anomaly. It's quite fascinating," Kusuke said

"Anomaly? Why am I starting to feel like some kind of test subject?"

"So he got you your own limiter then that must mean your psychic powers are strong. You mentioned something about the powers he can't help share with you? Could you please elaborate?" Kusuke said

"Well, at first glance my powers resemble your brothers, but it's only because I copied them. I have the ability to copy people's actions after seeing them. It also gives me the ability to absorb and copy the psychic abilities of others as well. It only works if the person uses the power on me or I physically witness the power. Since I'm around Saiki so much I've copied several psychic abilities. Telepathy is kind of a norm for me now since it's Saiki's number one form of communication. Its kind of like I'm an ever-expanding sponge that continuously gets heavier as it sits in a large body of water," Lotus explained

Kusuke put a hand on his chin, leaning closer to Lotus. "Fascinating. Truly fascinating. Can you read my mind?"

Lotus glanced down at the ring on her finger. "I have the ring switched off, so the germanium isn't touching my skin. I thought it'd be best since I was traveling to a place I've never been to. But...now that I realize it, I haven't been able to hear his thoughts at all."

"No," Lotus shook her head.

"Well, that's good, that means this thing is still working properly!" Kusuke gestured to the headband-like device atop his head.

It was silver and had a yellow orb atop. It greatly reminded Lotus of the antenna that Saiki wore.

"I made this to stop my brother from reading my mind," Kusuke explained

"I see…" Lotus and Violet said

"How long have you been able to copy others' powers?" Kusuke asked

"Lotus has been doing it since she was born. She does it automatically, although it wasn't until recently that we found that part out. She's been spending most of her time with your brother, he's like her personal psychic tutor," Violet answered

"Lotus, would you allow me to conduct some experiments on you?" Kusuke asked with a smile.

Lotus felt a shiver run through her body. "He's smiling so kindly, but what's with this dark feeling I'm getting."

Kusuke got closer to Lotus, his smile going wider, further making the girl uncomfortable.

"Imagine all the wonderful things that could be accomplished with your powers. Allow me to study you. Maybe a sample of your hair to start off with." Kusuke said

"This guy is weird!"

"Hey back off buddy!"

Lotus was yanked back from Kusuke as her sister wrapped her arms around her in a tight, protective embrace.

"Your smile may be nice but there's a shady look in your eye! I only permit men who are related to Lotus to touch her," Violet said

Kusuke blinked but slowly sat back in his seat, his smile still on his face.

"Oh, my bad. When I find something so rare and interesting I can't help but get excited. My apologies."

"Hmmm, well I guess it's fine. Lotus is pretty amazing, anyone can be enraptured by her," Violet said

It was time for Lotus and Violet to leave. They bid their goodbyes to Kusuke before exiting the room.

As Lotus tried to leave, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She glanced behind her to see Kusuke.

"You know I never imagined what kind of girl Kusuo would end up with, but surprisingly I see you two fit for one another," Kusuke said

"Uhm…Thank you?" Lotus said

"I look forward to the invitation," Kusuke said

"Invitation?" Lotus questioned

"To yours and Kusuo's wedding, of course!" Kusuke said

". . . What?!" Lotus shouted

Her face went apple red and was so hot it was steaming.

"Well, you're obviously the best fit for Kusuo. The odds of another girl befit for Kusuo is so low it might as well be a negative number. So the logical conclusion would be that you'll end up with him." Kusuke said

He looked at Lotus's face and chuckled; it looked like the teen was going to implode.

"Hey, when you two have kids, can I run some tests on them?" Kusuke asked

"This guy…!"

"You...You're getting some kind of sick kick out of embarrassing me, aren't you!?" Lotus said

"Now whatever gave you that idea?" Kusuke coyly spoke, his smile not dropping.

Lotus's lips twisted down into a frown. She pivoted on her feet, turning around, quickly going down the hall.

"See you later, future sister-in-law!" Kusuke called

Lotus had enough and vanished, teleporting away. Kusuke laughed as he entered his lab and sat down. He turned to a set of video screens and started to playback some of the feed.
