It's Here the PK Festival! - Haunted Houses and Cafes!
The day has finally come. It's time for the PK festival!
"Okay! Has everyone arranged their rocks?" Hairo asked
Kaidou held up a jagged rock. "My entry is an enchanted geo with the power to seal away evil."
"Mine way cooler!" Nendou said
He wasn't holding a rock but a statue.
"You stole a Jizo statue."
Saiki was holding a rock that was perfectly rounded like an egg.
"Look mine is shaped like a heart! Cute huh?" Chiyo said
"Wow, your right!" Teruhashi said
"~But it's completely broken.~"
Teruhashi was right. Chiyo's heart-shaped rock had a jagged crack down the middle only being held together by Chiyo's own hands.
"Wow, yours is pretty too, Kokomi!" Chiyo said
"Thank you," Teruhashi said
Teruhashi's rock was shaped like a blooming rose.
"Kuboyasu, what is that?" Teruhashi asked
Kuboyasu held up an ordinary rock, except for the red blood painting the edge.
"I found it behind a dumpster. Looks like someone hid it there," Kuboyasu said
"Because it's a murder weapon."
"Wow, girl buddy whatcha got there?" Nendou asked
"Ah, I didn't really find it but I asked Hairo if it was okay to bring it in." Lotus held out her hand which had a tennis ball-sized rock in it. "My parents found it when they were working in the desert and sent it to my sister and me as a gift. I asked Hairo if it were okay to bring it for a display, and he thought it would be a cool idea to have an international rock on display."
Lotus showed the rock which was cut in half so the inside could be seen which had an abundance of crystals within.
"Whoa, it's so shiny!" Kaidou said
"It's called a Geode. It's basically a rock with a hollow cavity lined with crystals. After the festival we're gonna donate it to a local museum," Lotus explained
"All right!" Hairo spoke, grabbing the class's attention. "This turned out pretty good! Class Three has got a great display!"
Hairo's rock was shaped like a tennis racket.
"I'm sure only you could find a rock shaped like that Hairo."
"I heard the class with the best display wins an award. Let's do our best! Class Three rules!" Hairo cheered
"Yeah!"
"Alright dismissed!" Hairo said
"Well let's enjoy this brief rest while we can," Kaidou said
"Hey Teruhashi, come see the other classes with us!" Nendou called out
"~What?! You mean with you and Saiki?~"
"I would love to but there's somewhere else I need to be this morning," Teruhashi said
"I'm contestant number five. I'm Moriko Utuskushino from Year One, Class One and I like to visit art museums…"
"Since when did we hold beauty contents?" Kaidou asked
"Hahaha! Well, I bet Teruhashi wins this bad boy no problem am I right guys!" Nendou said
"Yes, I guess," Kuboyasu said
"Why are you with us?"
"Hey wait Teruhashi's not in this," Kaidou said
"That concludes the self-introductions," The announcer said
"Which of these lovely ladies do you think will win, Principal?"
"It would be inappropriate for me to pick a favorite. Each girl at this school shines-"
"Let's ask a girl who knows all about shining. Teruhashi, our reigning, Miss PK."
Teruhashi was wearing a sash sitting on a throne and was even wearing a crown.
"All the girls look so beautiful this year I couldn't possibly judge them," Teruhashi said
The good mood of the audience seems to die away as they saw Teruhashi was not a part of the contestants.
"Excuse me, sir."
A student popped up behind the curtain handing a card over to the announcer.
"Oh! Listen up, folks! It appears we have a last-minute entry. Joining us on the stage is Miss Lotus Yamaguchi!"
The curtains pulled away revealing a rather confused Lotus.
"Eh? Wha? Huh?"
"How did she end up there?"
"How...did I end up here?"
About 10 Minutes Earlier
Lotus had briefly separated from her friends heading to the bathroom.
"You there! Lady Lotus!"
"Lady?"
Lotus turned around as someone called out and put a hand on her shoulder. It was another student and he looked rather frantic.
"We're down a contestant, how would you like to compete?!"
"Um compete in what? Your words are pretty vague."
"I'm sorry." Lotus pulled away. "I wasn't prepared to compete in anything today."
"You wouldn't have to do anything really! You're perfect!"
"Sorry," Lotus apologized as she started walking away.
"The winner gets a special dining for two at a famous dessert place!"
Lotus quickly turned around. "Did you say dessert?"
Present
"Uh…"
Lotus gazed out at the crowd woefully unprepared.
"When he said contest I was not expecting this kind of one."
"Go on, introduce yourself!" The announcer said
"Uh…I'm Lotus Yamaguchi, Class Three, Year One. I'm a transfer student who joined at the beginning of the year. I….I like Manga, anime, video games, and sports, my favorite being baseball. Uh...Oh! I can speak several languages. Salut! Merci de me recevoir! ¡Tengamos un gran festival!"
The crowd was silent for a moment before they broke out in applause. Many were impressed by Lotus's multilingual abilities and the guys found her interests, such as Manga, amazing.
Off to the side, Teruhashi was smiling rather strained.
"Whoa...I won."
Lotus blinked owlishly as she held a crown and a sash. She also had an envelope which contained her prize.
"Good job girl buddy!" Nendou congratulated
"Those mortals would have been idiots to not pick the Warrior Queen," Kaidou said
"You were great," Kuboyasu said
"I...didn't even do anything."
"I'm not standing near you if you wear that crown."
"Like I'm going to wear this thing. I might as well put a beacon on my head."
"A haunted house. A café. A haunted house. A café. Wow, so many choices!" Nendou smiled
"Define so many."
The group, including Kuboyasu, were walking down the halls trying to find something to do.
"Let's just pick one and go in," Kaidou said
"Good grief, haunted houses are never any fun for me."
"With his use of telepathy Saiki would just see all the scares coming."
"Let's eat first!" Nendou said
"The foods made by high schoolers."
Saiki paused when he saw a sign posted on one of the class doors.
"We serve coffee jelly!"
"Hey, let's go to that one!" Nendou said
"For once we agree."
"The haunted house café!" Nendou said
"Wait what?"
"Why combine the two?"
"I don't want to look at ghost while I drink coffee," Kaidou said
"Yeah, he's right."
"It wasn't scary at all! What kind of haunted house has people yelling boo!"
"PK needs to step up their game!"
Two students wearing uniforms from another school stood before one of the class's haunted houses mocking the PK students' hard work.
"Where did they come from?" Nendou said
"Probably from another school," Kaidou said
"Let's go in this one next!"
The two rude guys entered another haunted house.
"I think I'll go in this one as well." Kuboyasu faced the group wearing a calm yet scary look on his face. "I actually really like scary stuff."
Kuboyasu entered the house and a few seconds later screams of terror echoed out.
"Whoa, they're really screaming that one must be good!" Nendou said
"Good place to get beat up."
"I'm curious to check it out myself," Kaidou said
He pulled back the curtain entrance and the room was dark making it hard to see.
"Its pitch black," Nendou said
"I see everything. Even the guy waiting to jump out at us."
"That guy right there is having trouble breathing with his mask on."
"Hey, go already," Kaidou said to Nendou.
"This was your idea. You go," Nendou said
Kaidou cleared his throat, his fear very apparent. "Very well. I will lead you through the labyrinth of hell and into the light."
"~I've never been more scared in my entire life!~"
Kaidou took one step forward and a hand shot out grabbing his ankle.
"AAAAHHHH!"
Then a prop hand dropped from the ceiling hanging on an obvious rope, which caused Kaidou to scream even more. Kaidou continued to scream at everything, he even screams when he spotted the emergency exit sign.
He had enough and ended up climbing atop of Nendou's shoulders to seek safety. When he calmed down he climbed down.
"Now follow me as I take you into the light," Kaidou said, opening a door.
"That's the entrance."
"Why are you spazzing out and screaming everywhere? We're going ahead without you," Nendou said
"No, don't leave me!" Kaidou cried out
"Bye!"
Behind a curtain, a student dressed as a spirit smirked ready to scare.
"~I'm going to scare the hell out of them and make their eyes roll back!~"
He popped out of his hiding spot right in front of Nendou.
"Hey."
Instead of scaring Nendou, the student himself was scared. He fell back, fainting, so shocked his eyes rolled back in his head.
"He looks real," Nendou said
"He is real."
"Yeah even a man like me would faint if I saw your face up close in the dark," Kaidou said
"Huh? What do you mean?" Nendou said
"Now what do we do? You ruined their haunted house," Kaidou said
"It's so dark and scary!" A voice called out.
"We gotta hide this guy before someone comes by. Then we'll dress up and scare them ourselves!" Kaidou said
They pulled the student behind the curtain and found some props. Kaidou wrapped bandages around his head while Nendou put on some prop glasses with springy eyes. Saiki chose to sport some fake blood and Lotus grabbed an oni mask.
When the next person came by, Nendou and Kaidou popped up ready to scare.
"Hey."
Kaidou fainted at the sight of Nendou's face. Or rather his mother's face.
"Oh, hi Mom," Nendou said
"There were two Nendou's."
A groaning Kaidou was laid out on a bench, a towel covering his face.
Not only was Nendou's mother present but so were Saiki's parents.
"You should've told me you were coming," Nendou said
"I had a few extra minutes on my break, so I came by," Midori said
"We ran into Nendou's mom on the way, and we've been checking out all the class displays," Kuniharu explained
"This is one friendship I wished you hadn't made."
"I'm just wondering where Violet and Ethan are?"
"Oh, Lotus!"
"Speak it and they shall come."
Lotus turned around to see Violet and Ethan speeding her way.
"Here it comes."
She made no move to dodge as Violet and Ethan wrapped her up in a smooshing group hug.
"There you are Lotus!"
"We missed you!"
"You two saw me like four hours ago!"
"We heard you won a beauty contest!" Ethan said
"That's to be expected! My little Lotus is the cutest thing in the entire world!" Violet gushed
"It's the entire Yamaguchi clan!" Kuniharu jokes
"Hello, Saiki family!" Ethan greeted
"You know these two, but Ethan, Violet, this is Nendou's mother," Lotus introduced
Violet and Ethan looked at Midori and were stoned, utterly confused.
"~Whoa…~" The two thought
"Now that I've seen your classes display I better get going. Good luck with your haunted house," Midori said to her son.
"Were not doing a haunted house," Nendou said
"What? Your not?" Midori said
"Our class is doing a funny looking rock display," Nendou said
"I'm gonna go wash my face."
Saiki walked away going to the nearest bathroom to wash the fake blood off his face.
"What a pain. This is why high school events are such a pain in the neck."
Running water could be heard as Saiki used the sink to wash off his face, his glasses lying on the edge of the sink.
"Lots of minor characters show up and cause me trouble. Oh well, at least I can get some peace and quiet in here. Maybe I'll just go home now."
Saiki went to put his glasses back on but found the fake spring eyed glasses Nendou had been wearing.
"Wait these aren't-"
"Haha! Hey, do I look cool in these buddy?" Nendou asked now, wearing Saiki's glasses.
"Give those back-Damn it!"
