This is Lotus
This is Saiki
Saiki and Lotus
It's Here the PK Festival! - DOKI!
"Huh? Saiki?"
Lotus looked confused as she heard the stressed voice of Saiki ring through her mind. His outcry was louder than anyone else's voice in her head.
"Ethan. Violet. Excuse me for a moment I need to check on something," Lotus said
"Alright, we'll meet you in your class okay?" Violet said
"Okay."
Lotus made her way to the boy's bathroom where Saiki was located. She looks around before quickly slipping in.
"Saiki are you-what in the!?"
Lotus gaped seeing a stone statue of Nendou.
"How in the-! Saiki what is-?!"
Lotus paused and her eyes went wide when she spotted Saiki, not wearing his glasses.
"S-Saiki…"
The two psychics stared at one another both wide-eyed. Lotus is surprised to find Saiki sans glasses, and Saiki was a bit stunned finally being able to look at someone without the green filter of his glasses.
*DOKI DOKI DOKI DOKI*
"Um…"
Lotus suddenly felt extremely nervous, and she could feel her cheeks starting to heat up.
"I..never realized how different he'd look without his glasses on."
They continued to stare at one another not saying a word, that is until the bathroom door opened.
"Kuso?" Kuniharu asked peeking into the restroom.
Saiki turned away knowing he couldn't look at his father but Lotus had no clue.
"Huh-?"
Lotus went to turn around and Saiki quickly realized what was happening.
"No!"
He grabbed Lotus's arm pulling her forward, so she wouldn't turn to face his father. Unfortunately, Lotus wasn't prepared for this sudden change of momentum and ended up tripping over her own feet falling on Saiki, taking the psychic down with her. The two landed on the bathroom floor with a thud, Saiki's back taking the brunt of the fall.
"Sorry Saiki I-!"
Lotus's face went beet red when she noticed how close her own face was to Saiki, and without his glasses on as well. Saiki was at loss for words too, with his nose brushing against Lotus's, even he couldn't stop the small flush on his own cheeks.
*DOKI DOKI DOKI DOKI DOKI DOKI*
"I...I…"
"Oh my!" Kuniharu smiled coyly. "Excuse me! I'll just leave you two alone!"
"Get back here!"
Lotus now stood in the bathroom, her hands over her eyes. Saiki having explained to her what the situation was.
"So since Saiki is always wearing his glasses he's never actually used his Medusa vision, so I hadn't acquired that skill either. Since his powers don't work on me he can look at me freely but that would also mean when he looks at me without his glasses on I'm probably absorbing the Medusa skill. So I can't look at anyone until I'm 100% sure that that power has worn off. As long as Saiki does not look at me without glasses on, the power should wear off soon."
Kuniharu had been dragged back into the bathroom by his son where he finally took note of the Nendou statue.
"Ah what is this!?" Kuniharu shouted, prodding the Nendou statue. "Did you carve this?"
"Seriously? Just give me your glasses."
"I just had those tightened," Kuniharu said
"Good as long as I have something covering my eyes, that power will be blocked." Saiki looked at Lotus. "Now we just need something for her."
"Give me back my glasses!" Kuniharu said
"The worst thing that'll happen is your eyes will look like 3's."
"I'm basically blind without my glasses!" Kuniharu looked at Saiki showing his eyes.
"Wait, four's?"
"So that's why Nendou turned into stone huh? What are you going to do Kusuo? His moms outside the bathroom waiting to say bye." Kuniharu said to the Nendou statue.
"I'm over here Dad. Never make that mistake again. Anyway, guess I'll have to teleport Nendou to my house-"
The sound of crumbling stone echoed in the bathroom.
"Saiki...What was that noise?" Lotus asked concerned
Kuniharu and Saiki stood over the now demolished statue of Nendou.
"Kusuo take care of your mother for me." Kuniharu took out his cellphone. "Hello, police I'd like to report an accidental homicide."
"You don't have to go to the police, it'll be fine."
"What? You sure?" Kuniharu said
"In this case, I actually can just turn back time."
Saiki held up Nendou's stone head and the statue started to rebuild itself.
"Nendou! What's that noise!" Midori shouted as she banged on the bathroom door.
"Oh no. Nendou's mom is coming in. Dad, block the door."
Kuniharu smiled giving his son a thumbs up holding the door. "No problem!"
*BANG*
Kuniharu was sent flying as the door burst open.
"What the hell is going on in here?" Midori questioned
"Doesn't anyone knock anymore?"
"What? Oh. My. God. This is great! Why didn't you say your rock display was based on my boy!" Midori beamed
"Guess that's fine. After all, a mom would never believe her son got turned to stone."
"Riki? Where did you go? Hey, have any of you seen my son around?" Midori askes
"Uh I think he went to the restroom," Kuniharu said
"Were in the restroom."
"Ahh-! He said he had somewhere to be!" Kuniharu quickly said
Midori sighed, "It's always something. Anyway, I'll help you move it."
"Huh?"
"You're taking this to your class, right? Come on let's go." Midori said
Lotus wasn't able to see everyone's reactions to the Nendou statue, but she could sure hear them.
"Amazing."
"What the hell?"
"Why Nendou?"
"How did they carve something like this?"
"Now we're really in trouble. Its obvious highschoolers couldn't carve this, everyone's getting suspicious."
"Lotus there you are. Ethan and I stopped at a food stall. Would you like some-huh? Why are you covering your eyes?" Violet asked
"Violet thank goodness. Do you have your reading glasses with you?" Lotus asked
"Yes, why?" Violet asked
"Could I please borrow them? I'll explain everything later," Lotus said
"Sure." Violet smiled digging into her purse before handing the glasses over to Lotus.
Lotus kept her eyes shut tight as she removed her hands and grabbed Violet's glasses. She put the glasses on then finally opened her eyes.
"Much better," Lotus said
"Oh my!"
"Principal!"
The Principal entered the classroom strolling over to the Nendou statute.
"This is an exquisite statute! Is it based on a gorilla?"
"You're half right."
"I'm very impressed. So the best class exhibit award goes to Class Three!" The Principal announced
This news only caused more students to flock to Class Three, all ogling at the Nendou statute.
"Wow, this is how we won?"
"Stop pushing!"
"Now it's become a showpiece."
Kuniharu was freaking out his hands squishing his face anxiously.
"This has gotten out of hand Kusuo, can't you teleport it out of here?"
"There are too many people."
"Wait! How about we break it and you can turn back time when it's back in the other room?" Kuniharu suggested
"That's not how it works. Plus I can do it once a day per target."
"What?" Kuniharu said
"There has to be limits in this universe Dad, or I could just rewind time as much as I want."
"Then what about your girlfriend?" Kuniharu said
Saiki snapped his head at his father. "What?"
Kuniharu pointed at a blushing Lotus.
"I don't have full control over that. If I messed up Nendou could be gone for good," Lotus said
"Then what do we do if the statute breaks again?" Kuniharu asked
"Then Nendou will be dead."
*CRACK*
"Oh no his hand broke." A male student said
Saiki, Lotus, and Kuniharu heads turned, the trio looking absolutely horrified.
"Never mind it was just his sleeve!"
"Haha oops!"
Some male students started gathering around the statue and began messing with it.
"His ears are really ugly!"
"It's so hard!"
"Don't touch!" Kuniharu shouted, grabbing one of the boys' wrists.
"Huh?! Who's this guy?!"
"There's a strange middle-aged man shouting at us!"
"Somebody get the teachers!"
"Don't touch me no! No!"
Kuniharu screamed and kicked as Coach Matsuzaki and another teacher dragged the man out of the room.
"You better not mention my name. Dad's right. We have to make Nendou's safety top priority. If he dies it's kind of my fault."
"Hey get off that statute!"
"If you fall and get hurt it's your own fault."
"Huh?"
Yuuta was here along with Kisho and their mother. The young boy had climbed up Nendou and was prodding his cheek with a toy gun.
"Take that, Baron Cola!"
"Yuuta get down!" His mother exclaimed
"Get down you'll break his face."
"Oh, it's Cyborg Cider Man #2! Look, I've captured Baron Cola!" Yuuta said
"No, that's a gorilla statute. Get off!"
"Yuuta get down you little twerp!" Kisho shouted standing right in front of the statue.
"Don't worry I'm holding on tight to his ear, so he won't escape!" Yuuta said
"I wasn't worried about that!"
"Take that! Surrender now!" Yuuta said
Thanks to Yuuta's roughhousing the statue started rocking back and forth before it went too far forward.
"It's falling!"
Lotus and Saiki moved fast. Saiki dicing under the statue while Lotus grabbed Yuuta and Kisho pulling them both out of the way.
*BAM*
The statue crash-landed right atop of Saiki. The commotion caught some attention from outside and the doors opened revealing Kaidou and Hairo.
"Saiki are you okay?!"
Lotus stood worriedly by Saiki's side, Yuuta and Kisho tucked in her arms.
"Saiki sacrificed himself to save it!"
"Whoa, it didn't crack!"
"Good grief. It happened so fast I didn't have time to use my powers."
Kaidou and Hairo knelt down before Saiki.
"Are okay Saiki-Hey did you get new glasses?" Kaidou asked
"We'll get that off-hey wait are those new glasses?" Hairo said
"Does that really matter? My real problem is now my classmates have seen the statue."
"Dude your statue rules! Who made it?"
"How do I get out of this one?"
"Obviously, Saiki made it. Who else but the sculptor himself would risk a back injury to save it?" Hairo said
"Really Saiki?"
"I guess he is really close to Nendou."
"Quiet an affectionate gesture, almost romantic."
"It'd be easier if I had let the statue shatter."
The day finally came to an end and it meant the Nendou statue would be safe until he turned back to normal tomorrow.
Lotus was walking with Saiki, but she kept her head down, her fingers nervously fidgeting with one another.
"Being around him feels awkward now. I want things to be normal but I know they can't be until I tell him. I...I'm gonna do it!"
"Hey, Saiki," Lotus said
Saiki paused looking at Lotus.
"Well, you see the thing is….I've been going over this for a while and well..." Lotus took a deep breath, steeling her nerves. "Saiki I like you."
Saiki's eyes winded, utterly surprised by the sudden statement. He really didn't see that one coming.
*DOKI DOKI DOKI DOKI*
"I know you find things such as romance troublesome but getting to know you more I found that I came to care for you more than a friend. I've been feeling a bit awkward around you holding back these feelings, so I had to tell you. I'm not sure how you feel, if you even feel anything, but I wanted to let you know. Don't worry I won't pester you or bother you about this but…"
Lotus dug into her pocket pulling out her dessert tickets.
"I wanted to invite you out to the dessert restaurant I won in the beauty contest. I...Well if it was okay with you, I hoped it could be a date." Lotus looked down shyly, her cheeks going red. "But if you don't we can still go as friends." She looked back up at Saiki a bright smile on her face. "No matter how you feel, whether your feelings for me merely remain at friendship I'm happy as long as I get to spend time with you."
Saiki stared at Lotus, nothing but silence between the two.
Lotus was sure if this went on much longer the sudden confidence she had would dwindle away. Suddenly Saiki reached out with one of his hands and Lotus gasped when he grasped one of her hands, the one holding in the tickets. She was expecting him to simply take his ticket, but she was surprised when he held onto her hand keeping it there.
"It's a date then. I'll pick you up at 2."
". . . . . . . . . E-Eh?!"
If Lotus was a computer she was sure her brain needed to be rebooted. Saiki, using his other free hand lightly bonked Lotus atop her head, resting her.
"I'm kind of surprised you hadn't figure out I had some kind of feeling towards you."
". . . . . . . . Wha-?! You do?!" Lotus said
"You're troublesome and draw too much attention but...I put up with that cause it's you."
*DOKI DOKI DOKI DOKI*
Lotus felt like her heart was going to explode.
"O-Oh! Um...Good! I-uh! Then Sunday at 2! It's a date!" A red face Lotus exclaimed
"Come on idiot, let's go home."
"R-Right!"
Lotus trailed after Saiki, her hand still in his.
