Since relocating from Coolsville to Chicago, Scooby hadn't been thrilled. Sure, he loved having his dream girl, Amber, with him. But he loathed that he had to behave like a dog. For too many years, Scooby never honestly realized he was a canine. This was unquestionably established by how many times in the gang's multiple mysteries, someone said they're fed up with 'the dog," and he responded, "Dog? Where?"

Scooby Doo nowadays was forced to act like an average dog in public. He couldn't go into restaurants, walk on two legs, talk, or do anything he'd done before the gang went to live 'normal lives." He sincerely hated he couldn't speak in public or had to be on a leash. Again, he never had to acknowledge that he wasn't a human. Amber was trying to console him at the moment.

"Scooby, please don't be so depressed. I know this is a significant change for you, as it is for me. Talking animals are the norm back home, but on this planet, they're only supposed to exist in children's cartoons. Do you want to be taken away from Shaggy? Again, this city is far different than the locations you've been to in the past," Amber said, putting her paw over his.

"It's not fair!" he grumbled, sulking on two legs to the kitchen.

"Scooby Doo! Please!" Amber raced over on four legs as he started to behave like a human again.

He gave her a frown. She sighed before calmly saying. "It's alright to be yourself when we're not in public. We can be ourselves if we don't make too much of a ruckus in the apartment.

However, you know how crucial it is to act normally in public. It took me seven months of analyzing and training to pass the test to come here in the first place. I had to learn all Earthly canine habits and behaviors. So, believe me, I know how frustrating it can be to behave in a way that contradicts who you are."

Scooby dropped to all fours. "It's tough. I've never had to act like other dogs before."

"Well, if it makes you feel better, it's challenging for me not to want to be in my proper form sometimes. But again, we've to make certain no one can see or hear us when we want to be ourselves.

If it will make you happy? I'll drop my camouflage, and we can spend the afternoon being ourselves. Again, remember to keep it down," Amber said as she reached under her handkerchief to touch her peace medallion.

Suddenly, she went from a gorgeous golden retriever to her more reptilian-like form. Again, Amber assured him that she was still what humans would call a dog. But again, a different world meant a different evolution.

Still, the couple enjoyed watching movies, playing video games, and enjoying the meals Scooby cooked. All while making sure no one heard or saw them. Of course, their Shaggy, Crystal, and Ruby returned eventually.

Shaggy got their leashes before taking them on their forty-five-minute walk, while the sisters did a few quick chores before making dinner. Scooby knew he'd never get used to concealing who he was. But for the sake of his loved ones, he'd do anything for them, even if it meant having to act like an average dog!
