A/N 1: At first I was going to apologize for not following cannon and then I realized….this is ChuckQuinn, he laughs at cannon. So, we're about to combine some eps I believe. Also, it's cold, very cold, and snowy, and icy, and I didn't really want to rewatch so, CQ told me to sit down and that he's got this.
a/n2: Chapter 11 Some Biomedical Conference
I don't own Chuck
Sarah's phone rang. Picking it up, she saw who was calling, and smiled. "Hey, Ellie," she answered. "What's up?"
"Are you busy?" Ellie asked her. Sarah felt a bit of fear, and happiness. She and Ellie were becoming closer and closer, almost like… dare she say, sisters. It scared her a bit, but it also excited her.
"No, what's up?"
"Think you can get away without Chuck knowing, and without him wanting to join you?" Ellie asked.
"What if I tell him we are talking about wedding things," Sarah offered.
"Perfect," Ellie said. "If you can get over here as quickly as possible, that would be great." Sarah found herself curious as to what was going on with the older woman. "You know, I just realized who you are." Sarah realized someone else must be there for her to use guarded language like that. "Everything is okay, you just need to hear something I did." Sarah wasn't sure if that helped or not.
"On my way," she told Ellie, grabbing her stuff as she hung up. She walked out of her office, saw Chuck and Casey, and had to hold in the grin at how easy this was going to be. "Hey, Ellie called and needed help with the wedding. She was going to come here," she used every bit of her spy training not to grin, seeing the look of terror on Casey's face. Chuck held it together a little better; not much, but a little.
"But, I told her I'd go there, since I know you two don't want to hear about it," Sarah finished. She watched Casey sigh in relief, and Chuck let out a breath.
"I can go-" Chuck began.
She walked over and kissed him quickly. "Let's just say you owe me," Sarah said with a wink.
"I really enjoy paying you back when I owe you," he said in a low voice that he thought Casey could not hear. The sound of a disgusted grunt proved Chuck wrong.
"See you later," Sarah told him. Chuck watched her leave, sighing happily, and turned back to Casey. The older man was shaking his head, a grin on his face.
"What?" Chuck asked. "Can't I be happy my sister and girlfriend are getting along?"
"Absolutely," Casey replied. "You do realize your sister and girlfriend are growing much closer, and talking about weddings, right?" Chuck nodded. Casey rolled his eyes, and seemed to be fighting saying something. "And with you two getting so close, and them talking about weddings…" Casey trailed off, slowly nodding at Chuck, trying to get him to understand.
"What?" Chuck asked.
Casey sighed, picked up the phone and made a call. "Casey secure. May I put you on speaker with Bartwoski, General?" She must of have said yes, as Casey put the phone on speaker. "Permission to call Bartowski a moron, ma'am?"
"Why this time?" Beckman asked.
"Because Walker and Ellie are discussing wedding plans, and Chuck thinks nothing will come of it," Casey said.
"Denied," Beckman replied. "Chuck, you're a moron," she said. "I now understand why you do it, Major. It's very freeing."
"Why are you two calling me a moron?" Chuck asked, trying not to be insulted.
"Because you're being one," Beckman snapped. "Chuck, you have made Sarah Walker feel things, and now she's talking about weddings."
"General, I am somewhat ashamed of you," Chuck responded. Casey's eyes went wide. "You know better than to think just because one woman talks to another about wedding planning that the second woman will suddenly start thinking about her own."
"While I appreciate you sticking up for women," Beckman began, "have you considered that given the life Sarah Walker has lived, she has never thought about her wedding? That she has never dreamed about it, and now, knowing how much you support and love her, has her feeling…"
"Ladyfeelings," Casey offered. Beckman sighed.
"Oh crap," Chuck muttered, his eyes wide. "Uh… oh crap."
"Go talk to Woodcomb," Casey said, waving Chuck away. Chuck fled the building.
"That was ridiculously satisfying," Beckman admitted. "Major, keep an eye on the two of them."
"Have you found out anything else about what you were concerned about?" Casey asked.
"I have not," Beckman admitted. "And that, in and of itself, is concerning." And with that, she hung up.
"Damn," Casey muttered, shaking his head. "What have those morons stumbled into?"

"Chuckster, what's up?" Devon asked.
"Ellie," Chuck told Devon. Devon looked up in surprise from the journal he was perusing. He laid it down, staring at his soon-to-be brother-in-law. "She's going to pressure Sarah, not realizing she's pressuring Sarah, and that's going to be bad."
"How is Ellie going to pressure Sarah?" Devon asked, confused.
"Sarah is just coming to terms about her life, what has been done to her; by the CIA, her father, how she has been manipulated," Chuck began.
"Dude, are you accusing your sister of manipulation?" Devon asked.
"Not intentionally," Chuck said. "I'm doing this badly. Ellie called Sarah over to talk wedding stuff."
"Why is Ellie talking about wedding stuff?" Devon asked. "That's not supposed to be until next week." Chuck gave him a confused look. "With our schedules, we have to plan when to talk wedding stuff."
Chuck furrowed his brow. "Why would Ellie tell Sarah she needed to do something about the wedding?"
"Maybe she's having second thoughts," Devon said softly. Chuck started to protest, when he saw Devon's eyes latch on to someone or something in the hallway. "Hernandez," Devon growled. He hopped up and headed out of the break room, Chuck following, trying to stop him. "Dr. Hernandez," Devon said.
"Dr. Woodcomb," Hernandez replied in a pleasant voice. "How are you, and your lovely fiancé?"
"You rubbing it in?" Devon asked.
"Uh, Devon," Chuck said.
"Excuse me?" Hernandez asked.
"Not now, Chuck," Devon said to Chuck. He turned back to Hernandez. "I know, you are smooth, funny, very close to Ellie. But I will fight for her."
"I think there's been some misunderstanding," Hernandez said, amusement on his face.
"Devon, he's right, there's something you need to know," Chuck said, trying to calm Devon.
"I need to say this, Chuckster," Devon said, never taking his eyes off Hernandez. "I love her, I would do anything for her. And I get why someone would fall for her and try to steal her away from me, which… not awesome."
"Oh, God," Chuck said, covering his hand with his face.
"I see," Hernandez said, a grin growing on his face.
"But you need to know, she is my world," Devon went on. Chuck wanted to hug his soon-to-be brother-in-law, and clamp his hand over his mouth, all at the same time. "So, if you continue down this path of trying to ruin my soon-to-be marriage, I will fight for her with everything in me."
"Devon, Dr. Hernandez is in a very exclusive relationship," Chuck said to Devon in a low but fierce voice. Devon looked at Chuck and back to Hernandez. "With his boyfriend."
"Well, he might… wait, did you say boyfriend?" Devon asked. Chuck nodded. Devon turned to Hernandez. "Boyfriend?" Hernandez nodded. "Boyfriend." Devon cleared his throat. "Well…"
"So, you would fight for her?" Dr. Hernandez asked.
"I would do anything for her. She is my world," Devon told Hernandez.
"Good, because she is the best friend I have and if you hurt her…" Dr. Hernandez trailed off. "But there is obviously something going on."
"I may have overreacted," Devon said. "Chuckster here was telling me that Ellie had called his girlfriend Sarah over to talk about the wedding-"
"Wait, there is no wedding planning this week," Hernandez blurted out. Devon gave him a skeptical look, and Hernandez titled his head at Devon. "She talks about you a lot, Devon." Devon smiled at that.
"Do you all really have to schedule everything?" Chuck asked.
"It's Ellie," they both answered him at the same time. Chuck shrugged.
"Devon, something is up," Hernandez said.
"Maybe Sarah's not meeting Ellie," Chuck said, looking away.
"Maybe Ellie is rethinking marrying me," Devon replied.
"Maybe you are both spiraling for no good reason, and there is something else going on," Hernandez offered. "Maybe they are planning a surprise for you. Maybe they are wanting a girls' moment alone, and have hidden it behind this."
Devon turned to Chuck. "Could Sarah be using Ellie to… you know?" he asked softly.
"She wouldn't," Chuck replied. "Would she?"
"Maybe it's something personal," Devon offered.
"We should trust them, though… right?" Chuck asked.
"Yes, you should both trust the women you love," Hernandez said.
"It's not that," Chuck said to Dr. Hernandez. "Sarah has been going through a lot lately, trying to come to terms with her past that… well, she thinks others would think less of her. She thinks I'm going to leave her because of it. When Sarah said it was about wedding stuff, I became concerned because I was ready to propose to show her how serious I am about her, and my love for her."
"Wait, dude, what?" Devon asked. "What about playing it cool?"
"There's times to play it cool, and there's not," Chuck told Devon. "When the person you love is concerned that they'll run you off, then you have to be who you are, and show her that you're there, and that you're committed."
"What exactly did you say?" Hernandez asked, drawn into the story.
"I asked her if I needed to get down on one knee, and she said, 'God, No!'" Chuck explained.
"And being around Ellie and her enthusiasm," Devon said, understanding. "We need to find out what they're up to."
"You need a spy," Dr. Hernandez said. Both men turned to him. "Frank is at some conference, I have nothing going on today. So why don't I text Ellie, see what she's doing, and invite her for movies, wine, and popcorn."
"Knowing Ellie, she'll invite you over to join her," Devon said. "Brilliant." Devon paused. "You see why I was concerned, right?"
Dr. Hernandez just smiled at him. He pulled out his phone, began to type, and hit send. "There." His phone dinged, surprising him. He read it, and looked up at the two. "They're at the same conference as Frank. A biomedical conference."
"Why would Sarah go to a biomedical conference?" Devon asked, his eyebrow raised at Chuck. The meaning of spy mission was clearly implied.
"Are they meeting Frank?" Dr. Hernandez asked. "Is he leaving me and that's what they're doing?"
"Neal, I'm sure it's not that," Awesome said, trying to calm him.
"I have to get to that conference… Will you two come with me?" Dr. Hernandez asked. Awesome and Chuck shared a look. "Please?"
"Sure," Chuck said. He looked at Devon. "We got him into this, so we need to see it to the end." Devon nodded.

Earlier at Ellie and Devon's apartment
Ellie opened the door, smiling to see her best friend/sister. "Sarah," she said, pulling the younger woman into a hug. "Thanks for coming over."
"Anytime," Sarah told Ellie. "Is something going on?" She saw Morgan sitting on the couch, looking concerned. "Okay, Ellie, Morgan is here. Are you wanting me to run him off? Because I can't do that."
"No, for once, he's here because I invited him," Ellie said. "And Chuck cannot know about this."
"I don't know, Ellie, this is-"
"Listen, Sarah… normally, I'd agree, but we have a real problem here. Defcon Five-level," Morgan told her.
"So, the lowest," Sarah said, confused.
"No, five is the highest number," Morgan argued.
"But Defcon One is the actual highest level of Defcon," Sarah explained. Morgan was silent for a moment.
"Figures. The government must have come up with that, and that's why it makes no sense," Morgan groused. Sarah started to retort, but decided not to. Morgan took a deep breath. "She's here."
Sarah looked around. "Who, Ellie?"
"No, the evil she-witch harpy from hell," Morgan explained. Sarah looked at Ellie, confusion covering her face.
"Jill," Ellie spat.
"Jill," Sarah said. "You mean Jill Roberts, the woman that hurt Chuck?" Ellie nodded. Sarah crossed her arms, her nostrils flaring. "You've seen her?"
"No," Ellie said. "I'll let Morgan explain."
"So, after Chuck returned from Stanford, he might have left work one day, abandoning his Nerd Herd post, and drove back to Stanford for Jill," Morgan began.
"He did," Ellie said, her arms crossed, just like Sarah, anger on her face. "He went back, and that hussy embarrassed him in front of her entire sorority, and told him she had slept with Bryce."
"Ellie, he did do the whole call up to her window thing in front of God and everyone," Morgan pointed out.
"He put himself out there for her, Morgan," Ellie reminded him.
"She didn't… doesn't, deserve him," Sarah muttered. Morgan and Ellie shared a look. "That man… he is so giving… so… worried, about everyone but himself, and she… she took advantage of him. And the second, the absolute secondhe needed her… she rejected him."
"You okay?" Ellie asked.
"Oh, I'm fine," Sarah said. "She didn't hurt me." Ellie nodded. "She hurt Chuck." Ellie and Morgan shared a look at the change in her voice. "She hurt the kindest man I know, the man I love and she… she is not going to be fine."
"Maybe you should finish your story, Morgan," Ellie said, her eyes wide, gesturing for him to hurry.
"Right," Morgan said, swallowing. "So, this conference called the Buy More to set up some stuff – what I don't know, I'm not a Nerd Herder – and they sent Skip. Now, ever since Chuck returned, anyone hired at the Buy More has to know Jill on sight."
"Why?" Sarah asked.
"Because we have to protect our boy," Morgan told her. "We even made Casey look at it, although he did scare us all." Sarah gave him a grateful look. "Skip saw her, well, actually she saw him and spoke to him about the Buy More, and asked if Chuck was still there. Skip doesn't talk to women so… that conversation didn't go far."
"How is Skip employed?" Sarah asked.
"I think he's got some deal with Big Mike," Morgan admitted. "He's very good, just… silent." Sarah blinked. "Anyway, Skip told me, and I called Ellie, and she said you had to know."
"Oh, I do," Sarah said. "Where is this conference?"
"What are you doing?" Ellie asked.
"I need to verify that it is Jill," Sarah told her.
"Not by yourself, you're not, it's a biomedical conference," Ellie told her, smiling. Sarah nodded. The two turned to Morgan. "Now, where is it?"
"I am not telling unless you let me go with you," Morgan said, standing.
"Morgan," Ellie growled.
"No, wait," Sarah said, lying her hand on Ellie's arm. "We might need him."
"I'm in?" Morgan asked, his eyes widening in excitement. "Really?"
"Really," Sarah told him.

As the three men entered the conference, Chuck's eyes nearly bugged out of his head. He spun and turned toward Devon. "Hey, tell me something… is there a woman over there some might call attractive? Brown-eyed, slightly egg-headed brunette with an extremely cold heart?"
"That's weirdly specific," Devon told Chuck. Devon looked past Chuck, his eyes widening, and then back to Chuck. "Is that… Jill?" Chuck pressed his lips together, and blew out his cheeks. "Dude, why is Jill here?"
"You think I know?" Chuck asked.
"Who is Jill?" Neal asked.
"Woman who did my bro here wrong, and stole his mojo," Devon explained.
"I wouldn't say she stole my mojo," Chuck protested.
"Broke his heart, made him mope around for five years, until he met Sarah," Devon continued.
"Not moping, as much as… you know, moping works," Chuck conceded.
"We have to know why she is here," Neal told Devon. "This can't be a coincidence."
"Uh, buddy, did you know she's dating?" Devon asked. Chuck turned and saw Jill with someone, and the flash began. "Chuck?"
"Sorry, spun too fast," Chuck told Devon. "I'm okay." Chuck's cellphone began to ring, and he pulled it out of his pocket to glance at it. "I need to take this, it's work." Chuck stepped away and answered. "Casey, what's up?"
"Did you just flash?" Casey asked.
"How did you know… you're here, aren't you?" Chuck asked, looking around. "Where are you?"
"Quit worrying about where I am, and tell me who you flashed on. Is it Roberts?"
"Wait, you know about Jill?" Chuck asked, surprised.
"Yes," Casey replied, frustration evident in his voice. "When I started, those freaks at the Buy More made me memorize her picture."
"I did not know that," Chuck admitted. "The man with her, his name is Guy LaFleur. He is the head research scientist for the European company Cole-MacGregor Pharmaceuticals. There were suggestions in MI6 reports that he may have developed a bioweapon which he plans to sell to the highest bidder."
"Okay, stay away from him. I'll take care of him," Casey told Chuck. "Why are you here? Wait… don't tell me, I want plausible deniability when this thing goes FUBAR."
"You don't know this is going to go FUBAR," Chuck insisted. There was an amused grunt and Chuck heard a dial tone.
"Dude," Devon said in a hushed tone, running up to Chuck. "Sarah, Ellie, and Morgan are here, and they are following Jill."
"What?" Chuck said. "This is a disaster… Jill's boss might be a bad guy."
"Well, it's worse; Neal saw Frank, and is following him," Devon told Chuck. "Any ideas?" Chuck looked over, saw Sarah, and she locked eyes with him. He nodded past her, and she turned, seeing Casey. She turned back, and mouthed, what do I do? Chuck glanced around, noticing something on the wall they could use. He hoped this was a beg-for-forgiveness-later moment. He looked back at Sarah, and cut his eyes back to where he had been looking.
Sarah followed his gaze, looked back at him, frowned, but nodded once. "Awesome, grab Ellie and run," Chuck said.
"What?" Devon asked. Chuck reached over and pulled the fire alarm. As the noise echoed through the conference, Casey spun Guy, punched him in the face, knocking him out. Casey hefted Guy over his shoulder, carrying him out, as Sarah made room for him, yelling about someone passing out. Devon got Ellie, Neal had Frank, and Chuck went and found Morgan.
"It's crazy, I'll get trampled," Morgan said, from under the desk. "But I don't want to die in a fire."
Chuck slid under the desk with Morgan. "I pulled the fire alarm, buddy. It's okay," Chuck assured Morgan.
"You saw her, and it scared you, didn't it?" Morgan asked. Chuck was trapped; if he told Morgan the truth… he sighed, and nodded. "It's okay, buddy. Sarah loves you, and I get it, you can't handle seeing her." Morgan patted Chuck on the back.
As Chuck was lying there, he saw a man leaving the building and he flashed again. "You okay, Chuck?"
"Yeah," Chuck answered. "Ate some sour gummies earlier."
"Gotta be careful with those things," Morgan told him.
"You okay here?" Chuck asked.
"Yeah, get out of here before they find you, and arrest you for pulling that alarm," Morgan said. Chuck crawled out, following the man.
"Sarah," Chuck said, having called her. "I've flashed on an assassin."
"Where are you?" Sarah asked.
"I've just exited the building. Morgan is under a table inside, worried about being trampled," Chuck told her.
"Probably best," Sarah told him. "I see you… are you following him?"
"I am," Chuck confirmed. He heard someone running and suddenly an arm slipped into the crook of his. "Hey," he said to her. He nodded at the man he was following. "Black jacket."
"Got him," Sarah said. She took off again, and Chuck noticed he didn't hear her footfalls. He wasn't sure how she could do that, but he was certain that she had let him hear her coming on purpose. Just as the man passed in front of an alleyway, Sarah tackled him, and he hit the ground, her entire weight on him. Chuck heard a sick crack, and a scream of pain.
He wondered if she had dislocated the man's shoulder. She bounced up, quick as a cat, and kicked him in the face. The assassin fell over. A van pulled up, and Chuck turned, ready to fight.
"Great, two of 'em," Casey growled. "You know, if you two would ever just talk, I wouldn't have to clean up everything." Chuck turned to Sarah, who twisted her lips and looked away. Casey got out of the van with zip-ties.
"Alright, time to go to work you two."
