The Going Merry was sailing along in a rainstorm, clearly equal to the dreary fog that it had sailed through yesterday. Luffy just kept on whining before he shocked them all by asking what Robin was reading, making them all freeze and stare at him for a few moments in disbelief. They all thought that the world was ending before Zoro came in and told them that he saw an island, causing Luffy to forget the book and jump out the door. Most of them collapsed after that before they regained themselves and disembarked onto the island, leaving Robin and Zoro to guard the ship. They walked into a small town and discovered that a fireworks festival was tonight, making them all smile at the thought of fireworks. Sanji offered to be an escort for the ladies, to which they turned him down and made him go into a depressive slump. Usopp ran off to see if they had any gunpowder they could spare, and the rest scattered to check out the town. As they walked, Nojiko grabbed Nami by the arm and lead her into a secluded alleyway.

"What are we doing here Nojiko?" Nami asked as Nojiko crossed her arms with her eyes closed.

"What's wrong?" she said. Nami looked confused at her question before Nojiko continued. "Don't think I didn't notice it. You were spacing out since yesterday while Luffy and Sanji were away." Nami blinked before she realized what she was talking about.

"Nothing's wrong." said Nami with a laugh as she tried to wave it off. Nojiko stood there and stared at her, not buying her words for a minute.

"Do you think I'm dumb or something?" she asked. "I can always tell when something's bothering you. Now, what's wrong?" They both stared at each other for what felt like hours before Nami sighed and slid down the wall to sit.

"I don't know." she said with her eyes down. "I think...I think I like Luffy more than I thought I did." Now it was Nojiko who blinked a few times before she grinned.

"You mean you love Luffy?" she asked as she sat down next to her.

"I don't know." Nami said. "I didn't think about it until that last island we stopped at. I didn't mind at first when I found out Luffy was sleeping with others." she said as she looked at Nojiko, who was listening to her every word. "But when Sanji ran off to attack Luffy last time...I just felt sad. I thought that it was a one night stand between me and Luffy, but now I'm not so sure."

"Have you talked to Luffy about this?" Nojiko asked.

"No. Haven't had the chance to be alone with him." she said. "It's not easy talking to him alone when on the ship."

"Well then, why don't you find him, drag him somewhere away from the rest of the crew's prying eyes, and ask him?" Nojiko suggested as they both stood up. "This town's got to have someplace quiet around here."

"Alright." Nami sighed as they walked out of the alley. "First I gotta go find him."

"Best bet is at a food stall." said Nojiko, making them both laugh. "That boy could probably eat the ship if he was hungry enough."

"Sails and all!" Nami chimed in, feeling better after talking with Nojiko. They waved at each other before splitting, with Nami keeping a lookout for Luffy. "Now, where is that idiot?" she asked as she looked around.

-2 hours later-

It took some asking, but she eventually found Luffy eating everything in sight at a stand selling various meats. Nami reluctantly paid for his food before dragging him off by his face to a nearby INN that was used by tourists around this time of year. She got a key, entered the room, and planted Luffy down on the bed before locking the door.

"Nami!" Luffy whined. "I was eating. Why'd you drag me away from the food?"

"Because I needed to talk to you." she said as she walked over and sat on the bed next to him.

"Okay. What?" he asked. Nami stared at him, her mind reeling at the simple fact that she didn't know where to begin. After some thought, she found a question to ask.

"In your old time, how many women did you sleep with?" she asked.

"None." he said.

"Eh?" Nami said in confusion before she narrowed her eyes. "No way. You've slept with me, Nojiko, Vivi, Alvida, and even that Doublefinger chick. And you're telling me that you slept with no one last time?"

I love all you guys." he said with a grin. Nami just stared at him before lowering her head so that her eyes were shadowed over. Her shoulders began to tremble as Luffy's grin dropped. "You okay Nami?" Nami's only answer came in sudden laughter as she fell on the bed. "Why are you laughing?" he asked. "You're being weird today."

"I'm sorry." she said after calming down. "I was worried over nothing. Don't worry."

"Really?" he said before smiling. "Alright then. I'm off to eat!" he said as he walked towards the door, only to stop at something tugging his robe.

"You know," Nami said in a quiet voice. "I do have this room until we leave, and the fireworks aren't until tonight." Luffy looked back at her to see her smiling up at him with half-lidded eyes as she removed her sandals. Luffy blinked before she slowly stood up, gently moved his Straw Hat to the table, and kissed him. Luffy's brain clicked as he kissed back, which soon turned passionate as they both fell on the bed. He kicked his sandals off as they made out, both of them slowly kissing each other and wrestling with their tongues. The soon broke for air and were panting while Luffy planted soft kisses along her collarbone. "Wait. I forgot about the window." she rasped. "Someone might see."

"Did you find your answer?" she asked. Nami looked at her with a smile, letting her know that she did. Nojiko smiled before asking, "So, why are your legs trembling?"

Nojiko snickered, earning her an elbow to the ribs as everyone started talking about how the show was about to start. They waited before colorful explosions filled the sky in a grand fashion, with the whole thing ending with a firework so huge, it looked like a metoer shower had completely filled the sky. A roar of cheering and awe filled the whole island as the annual Fireworks Festival came to a glorious end.
