A/N: Sorry for not updating a lot again. Been hard to focus on one thing lately. Still, hope you like this chapter. Gonna try and get back in the mood. Also, to clear any confusion at the beginning, I like the Japanese version of Luffy's Island song, so I'm gonna type that version. Also, when I asked for suggestions, I meant for where we currently are in the fic, not far off all the way into Dressrosa. I failed to be specific, so that one's on me. Also, I've seen that a familiar face has reappeared, so I know I must work around that when the time comes. Now, to the story.
Luffy was humming to himself with a smile as he sat on Nola's head, who was slithering aimlessly across the ground.
"Minami no shima wa~ atatakai~ Paina puru-puru~ Atama pokapoka~ Aho Bakaaaaa~" Luffy sang to himself before he blinked and looked out in one direction, his Haki picking up on someone strong appearing. "That feels like Enel. And he's-" he stopped when he felt someone fall. "SANJI!" he yelled in panic before sliding down to Nola's eye and pointing out. "NOLA! GO THAT WAY! MY FRIENDS ARE IN TROUBLE!" Nola released a 'SHAAAA' before changing course, heading in the direction she was ordered to follow. "Hang on everyone! I'm coming!"
-The Going Merry-
"SANJI!" Usopp howled in misery when he didn't feel his fallen friend's heartbeat. "Please! You can't be dead!"
"Wait a minute! That's his right side!" Nami explained to Usopp, whose hand was on the right side of Sanji's chest. "His heart's on the left side!" Usopp blinked at her before placing his ear on Sanji's chest, a steady beating being heard underneath.
"HE'S ALIVE!" Usopp yelled, tears in his eyes.
"That's good." Valerie sighed in relief.
"What are you here for?" Gan Fall asked Enel, a look of hatred across his features.
"What's with all the hostility?" Enel asked with a smirk. "It's only been six years since I replaced you as God. You should be joyful that I decided to pay a visit." he said before laughing.
"HEY! You b-bastard!" Usopp yelled after placing Sanji down on the deck. His entire body was shaking from head to toe as he continued. "What did you do to Sanji?!" Enel did nothing but look at Usopp, his smirk now replaced with a bored look. "I-I-I-I'm warning you! I've got 8,000 followers ready to attack at my command! If you leave nicely, I m-might let you live! Got that?!" he yelled. Everyone just stared at Enel before he vanished from sight in a strange blur. They all began to look around in confusion. "Wait...did that work?" Usopp asked himself. No sooner did he say that did Enel appear before him and placed his finger on his chest, sending thousands of volts of electricity through his body. Usopp shrieked before he feel backwards onto Sanji, leaving both Straw Hats charred and out cold.
"USOPP!" Nami screamed in horror as Enel glared at them all.
"Not one word from any of you," he commanded with a dark tone. "Or I will hurt you! Understand?" Johnny and Yosaku looked ready to lunge at Enel, but were stopped when Alvida and Valerie blocked their way, a look on their faces telling them that it would be suicide to fight him. Nami turned blue as she kept her hands over her mouth and nodded fearly while Nojiko just froze in place, her eyes never leaving her charred friends.
'How'd he do that?! Who is this guy?!' Nami thought as Enel calmly conversed with Gan Fall.
"You know, your old subordinates are truly talented." Enel said with a small smile.
"What have you done to them?" Gan Fall growled.
"For the past six years, they have endured hard labor. But now their service, and my need for this island, are coming to an end. That's why I've come to say goodbye." Enel explained.
"What do you mean?" Gan Fall asked. As they spoke, the other members of the crew were quietly talking amongst themselves.
"What do we do?" Johnny whispered.
"What can we do?" Nojiko whispered back before she looked down at her fallen friends. "In case you haven't noticed, he took out Sanji, one of our powerhouses, without even moving a muscle!"
"She's right." Alvida agreed, a dark look in her eyes. "I don't know what he did, but we don't stand a chance agaist him."
"Wait!" Gan Fall yelled, gaining the attention of the whispering crewmates. "What about my subordinates?!"
"Their fate...is up to God!" Enel replied before disappearing in a flash of lightning just as Gan Fall's spear reached him.
"Enel!" Gan Fall scowled, his grip tightening on his lance.
"So," Nojiko asked after a few long moments of silence. "What now?"
"ENEL!" Everyone jerked their eyes towards the starboard railing at the voice, their eyes brightening at the sight of their leader and friend. "AHH! He's gone!"
"Luffy!" the Straw Hats shouted in joy as Luffy jumped from the railing and walked over towards his fallen friends.
"Where did you come from?" Gan Fall asked as Luffy knelt down towards Usopp and Sanji, a sad look on his face.
"I wasn't fast enough." Luffy spoke to himself before turning towards the rest of his crew. "Can you guys treat them?"
"We're not as good as Chopper, but we'll do what we can." Alvida answered.
"Alright then!" Luffy grinned as he cracked his knuckles. "I'm gonna find Enel and kick his ass!"
"Luffy," said Nami in a quiet voice. Luffy looked at her as she stared back with pleading eyes. "Be careful." Luffy's only response was a bigger grin.
"Ho-Ho-Hooo!"
"Ho-Ho-Hooo!" Everyone turned to the railing once more to see two new figures standing on it.
"What the heck?" Johnny asked.
"Who are these weirdos?" asked Yosaku as both men began to dance on the railing in sync.
"We are Lieutenants of God Enel's Divine Squad!" both men answered at the same time. Each of them looked like Satori, except for the goat ears, horns, and noses. Both were dressed in orange gloves and shoes, white suits with white sashes, and yellow sunglasses that completely cover their eyes.
"Didn't we already beat you?" Luffy asked, his mind going back to Satori.
"Wrong! I'm Hotori!" the one on the left introduced.
"And I'm Kotori!" introduced the one on the right.
"And we're here to avenge our older brother, Satori!" they yelled in unison.
"Satori?" Nami asked in confusion.
"Satori is one of Enel's Priests." Gan Fall explained.
"That's right! That's our dear older brother that you jerks blew up!" screamed one of the men.
"WE WILL AVENGE OUR BROTHER!" they both shouted in fury.
"Oh, you wanna fight?" Luffy asked with a grin as he approached them.
"Hold on Big Bro!" Luffy stopped as both Johnny and Yosaku stepped forward, their swords drawn and ready to fight. Luffy blinked as the others all got their own weapons out.
"We've got these clowns!" Nojiko smiled. "You need to stop Enel!" Luffy looked to each of his friends and Gan Fall, each wearing equally determined faces.
"Alright!" Luffy said with a nod before running to the opposite railing and jumping towards the ground. "NOLA!"
"Nola?" Valerie asked as Luffy disappeared beyond the Milky Road. She, Gan Fall, the Straw Hats, and even Hotori and Kotori looked confused before jumping in surprise at the sight of a mile long snake slithering off through the trees.
"W-was that a giant sn-snake?!" Nami studdered.
"I think it was." Nojiko gulped before they all remembered where they were and got ready for a fight.
-Elsewhere-
"LOOK OUT!" came a shout before a group of Divine Soldiers were hit with an iron cannonball, knocking the shit out of them. Genbo was frowning at the fallen soldiers as he lifted his bazooka over his shoulder.
"Nothing's standing in my way." he said before Yama stepped forth.
"You must be the Shandian Warrior, Genbo!" said Yama as he eyed the weapon. "Your weapon of choice is unusual. They're made of iron, which isn't found up here. Correct?"
"Yama!" Genbo growled before aiming his bazooka and firing at him. "DIE!" Yama only grinned as he not only stopped the ball of iron, but sent it right back at Genbo. The Shandian Warrior didn't know what hit him until he slid down the tree he hit, the iron cannonball dislodging itself from his gut. Genbo began to stagger to his feet while Yama watched.
"Ohhh! Stronger than expected!" he said before launching himself towards Genbo. He jumped while brandishing a dark purple cloth with 10 Axe Dials attached, all aimed at Genbo. "Take this! 10 FOLD AXE!"
"Curse you...YAMA!" Genbo roared defiantely before Yama slammed into Genbo, his Axe Dials and weight crushing the Shandian Warrior.
"AXE MOUNTAIN!" Yama yelled before jumping away, leaving Genbo to fall to the ground in defeat. "Pity. And he had come so far." Yama grinned before raising his hands above his head. "BREEHEEEEEE!" he shouted.
-With Carue and Vivi-
Vivi was trudging through Upper Yard while dragging an injured Carue behind her.
"Just hang on Carue." she said. "Once we find Chopper, we'll get you fixed up." Carue didn't reply as he had passed out from the pain. "This is my fault. If I hadn't decided to join the search team, you wouldn't have gotten hurt." she scolded herself before stopping to catch her breath. She looked up at the sky with a frown on her face before she heard a branch snap. She jerked her head to the side, her right arm already changing to syrup.
"Hold it!" Vivi stopped when she saw a friend coming towards them, her hands raised in defense.
"Grace." Vivi sighed in relief as her arm returned to normal. "Finally! A friend."
"That's my line." Grace chuckled before she saw Carue. "What happened?"
"They called themselves the Divine Squad." Vivi explained. "They came out of nowhere and attacked us. Carue got hurt protecting me. Have you seen Chopper?"
"Not since he left me tangled in vines." Grace huffed before telling Vivi how he was running so fast he didn't hear her calling him.
"I see. I hope the others are okay." Vivi answered.
"You should worry about youseeeeelf!" Both women looked to see another soldier glaring at them in a battle stance. "By order of God Enel, I am to cut you two doooown!" Vivi scowled as she readied herself to fight before Grace stepped forward.
"Are you strong?" she suddenly asked.
"I am a member of God Enel's Army! Of course I'm strong!" replied the man.
"That's good." Grace smiled she put her paintbrush and palette away. "Can you carry our friend Carue for us? He got hurt."
"Of course!" said the soldier, a smile on his face and a yellow-green mark on his shirt. "Anything for a friend!" Grace and Vivi smiled before they all began to walk, hoping to find Chopper.
-With Chopper-
Chopper was wandering through some ruins that had half sunk through the clouds while looking for his friends.
"Guess they're not here yet." he said to himself as he walked on.
"Where is it?" Gedatsu asked angrilly as he looked around the area for Chopper. "Where is it?!" Gedatsu asked again as he got right into a Divine Soldier's face.
"Gedatsu-sama, you can't see the enemy if your eyes are rolled all the way in the back of your head. You have to look forward!" the soldier explained.
"AH! How careless!" Gedatsu gasped in shock before the Divine Soldier pulled out a picture of the Straw Hats and directed the Priest's attention to Chopper on the picture and before them, explaining that it was one of the Straw Hats.
"GUYS!" Chopper shouted. "WHERE ARE YOU?!" He was about to shout again before he felt a chill go up his fur. He turned to see Gedatsu behind him, his eyes rolled back and looking around.
"Where is it?" Gedatsu asked, making Chopper jump before poking his face with his stick, which only seemed to annoy Gedatsu. "Where'd it go?!" he growled before sucking in his bottom lip and grunting in anger.
'SCARY!' Chopper thought as he looked freaked out. 'What's wrong with him?!'
"Where'd it go? It was here a minute ago!" said Gedatsu as he looked around again, not seeing Chopper right in front of him.
"Gedatsu-sama! Your eyes are rolled back again! Point them forward to see the enemy!" shouted the Divine Soldier.
"AH! How careless!" Gedatsu gasped.
'Is he an idiot?!' Chopper thought as his jaw dropped further before Gedatsu glared down at him and shuffled his arms trying to fold them. The two just stared at each other before Chopper raised a curious eyebrow. "Say something already!" he shouted after Gedatsu remained quiet.
"Gedatsu-sama! You have to open your mouth so the enemy can hear you!" shouted the Divine Soldier.
"How careless!" Gedatsu gasped.
"Is this guy completely hopeless?!" Chopper asked in astonishment. Gedatsu then adopted a serious look before getting into a battle stance and glaring at Chopper.
"Be warned, raccoon-dog!" he said. "I am Gedatsu, one of the Priests under God-Enel, and Guardian of the Sky! This whole area is my territory!"
"Territory?" Chopper asked.
"That's right! The entire area is covered in Swamp Cloud! If you sink, you'll never be able to escape it's hold. The chance of survival is 50%! The Ordeal of Swamp!" Gedatsu declared as he was now at eye level with Chopper.
"You're the one who's sinking!" Chopper snapped, his tongue dancing as his eyes bugged out.
"Fool! The Swamp Cloud doesn't affect me! MILKY DIAL!" Gedatsu roared before he shot out of the Swamp Cloud and soared high into the sky. Chopper could only stare in amazement as Gedatsu hovered in the air. "I shouldn't have to waste my time on a pathetic raccoon-dog! Eat this! Swamp Cloud Burger!" he yelled after a cloud formed from his hands and he chucked it towards the ground. "Once this Swamp Cloud catches you, you'll never be able to remove it and die!"
"AH! WAIT! GEDATSU-SAMA, YOU'RE AIMING AT-" shouted the Divine Soldier before the cloud hit his head. The man then began a desperate struggle to remove the cloud, only for his fingers to pass through. He then fell to his knees and kicked before he stopped moving all together, which scared Chopper.
'I gotta save him!' he thought before he noticed Gedatsu launching another cloud at him, causing Chopper to freak out and dodge. He then ran over to the drowning man and pulled him from the cloud before smashing his fists against his stomach, causing the man to spit out swamp water and gasp for air. "You're okay!" Chopper said in relief as he shrunk back to his usual form.
"Thanks...for saving me." the man groaned.
"Hmph! Being saved by the enemy!" Gedatsu berrated the man as he tried to fold his arms. "And you call yourself a soldier under God Enel?!"
"Screw you! I'm done listening to you!" said the man as both he and Chopper got ready to fight him. That didn't go over so well as the man was suddenly buried in rubble. Chopper stared in terror as Gedatsu explained what had happened.
"That was the extinct Jet Dial! It's power helps me throw a punch so fast, my enemy won't know they're even defeated." he boasted before holding up his arm, a Dial visible from the hole on his shoulder. "The only downside is that it rips holes in my clothes." Chopper didn't move at first as he eyed the fallen soldier.
'If I don't leave the area, I'm dead!' he thought before he saw Gedatsu readying another attack. That was Chopper's cue to run for his life across the clouds. 'I can't run on the clouds! If I stick to the ruins, I can leave!' he thought before screaming at the sight of Gedatsu before him.
"Leaving so soon, raccoon-dog?" he asked before pulling his arm back. "JET PUNCH!" he roared as he threw the punch, only to miss when Chopper jumped using his Jumping Point.
'I only have three minutes before the Rumble Ball wears off! If I don't leave the area by then, I'm done for!' he thought. Sadly, his attempts were all in vain as he couldn't escape from Gedatsu Mantra and Jet Dials. Soon the poor reindeer found himself lying on the ground, his fur bloodied. He struggled to open his eyes and looked up at Gedatsu, who was on top of some ruins and glared down at Chopper. "That's...it." he smirked. "His feet...is his weak point. Walking Point!" he said as he struggled to his feet and began walking towards Gedatsu. 'My legs won't stop trembling! I don't have much time left before the Rumble Ball wears off. I have to get out of here fast!' he thought before he collapsed. His breathing was shallow as he eyed Gedatsu and formed into his Heavy Point. Everything went quiet around him as he thought to himself. 'That's right...I'm always the first to run away when danger comes...That's why they can never depend on me.' He grabbed one of Gedatsu's legs with both hands before he was kicked away. Gedatsu then created another Swamp Cloud as Chopper glared up at him. 'No more! Today...I'll fly my flag!' he thought, images of Doctor Hiriluk's flag going through his mind.
"SWAMP CLOUD BURGER!" yelled Gedatsu as he launched another cloud at Chopper, who jumped into the air once more. "Hmph! It seems you've forgotten that the air is my territory!" he growled before flying up towards him. He grinned before he lost balance and began flying wildly through the air. "What?!" he said before he looked at his left foot. "My shoe! He removed it?!" he yelled before looking back up at Chopper. "Pesky little Blue Sea Racoon-Dog!"
"I'm a monster!" Chopper yelled as he shifted into his Heavy Point. "AND I'M STRONG!"
"Only the weak roar the loudest! DIE!" Gedatsu yelled as he threw another Jet Punch, only to miss by an inch. 'I let him get to me and lost control of my Mantra!' he thought in anger as Chopper shifted to his Arm Point.
"Split Hoof! CROSS!" he roared before delivering a powerful blow to Gedatsu, an impression of a cross now imbedded in his stomach. Chopper then reverted to his Brain Point with tears in his eyes as he landed on some ruins and shouted. "NOW I'M A PIRATE TOO!" He was panting before he heard Gedatsu fall into some Swamp Clouds head first, his lower half slowly sinking. "Good. Just...just sink, and don't get up." he said before Gedatsu began to thrash around. "GAH! HE'S STILL ALIVE?! NO! JUST SINK! SINK ALREADY!" he yelled before Gedatsu's remaining shoe ignited, sending him into the Swamp Cloud. "Did he hear me?!" Chopper asked. If you listened, you could hear a final 'How Careless' gurgling up from the Swamp Cloud. Chopper only stared before he broke out into a happy smile. "I DID IT! I BEAT HIM!"
