A/N: Three years since I started this story. Can't believe it's been that long. Since then, this story has gotten 5,018 reviews, 4,502 followers, 4,470 favorites, been put into 47 communities, and has been viewed 3,390,048 times. I never thought it would get this much attention. Hope this anniversary chapter goes well with everyone. Also, some still ask about romance, so maybe I'm not exactly doing that bit right. Should I replace romance with another genre? Please give me opinions.
Robin was not having the best of days. After she and the others split up, Robin had gone on ahead to investigate the ruins, only to meet with Chief Enforcer Yama. Their encounter was less than pleasent when Yama began trying to kill her, which wrecked the ruins around them.
"Stop it!" Robin shouted at him. "You're destroying the ruins!"
"The ruins?" he asked in confusion. "I don't really care about this crumbling city."
"Then you're nothing but a fool." Robin replied, pissing Yama off.
"DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?! PUNCH MOUNTAIN!" he roared as he threw his fist at her, smashing the ground when she dodged.
'I must lead him away from these ruins before that idiot destroys everything!' Robin thought as she ran, with Yama leaving a trail of destruction behind him as he gave chase. Robin bit back a scream as the ruins crumbled around her, her thoughts back to Alabasta.
'I had reached a dead end. My best lead to finding the Rio Ponyglyph!' she thought as she ran, the sound of Yama yelling at her about running from her inevitable death. ':Luffy offered me a place in his crew after all I had done, claiming my dream was still within reach. Now, another chance lies before me, somewhere here in the sky!' She finally got away from the ruins and near a ledge that was high above another part of Upper Yard.
"Oh?" Yama said in surprise. "Not running anymore?"
"No." she answered as she dropped her backpack to her side. "And it's too late for apologies."
"Apologies? Are you still thinking of those stupid ruins?" he asked in irritation.
"Those ruins are pieces of history. Humans can never return to the past." she said before dropping her hat with her backpack. "I'm through wasting my breath on you."
"Haha!" Yama laughed. "Don't worry. Pretty soon, you won't have any breath to waste!" He then leapt high into the air before coming straight at her, intent on crushing her with his massive body. "NOW DIE!" he roared as he plummeted towards her, only to cry out in confusion when something grabbed him by the ankles and swung him face first into a tree. Robin's arms disappeared after the attack, dropping Yama on his head. He groaned as he sat up with a grunt, which turned to enraged growling when he saw Robin shooting him a piteous glare. With remarkable agility, he began to somersault towards her before bringing out his best attack. "TAKE THIS! TEN-FOLD AXE! AXE MOUNTAIN!" Robin merely raised her hand before Yama's vision was robbed of him. "AH! I CAN'T SEE!" he yelled before it came back, only to reveal that his Axe-Dials were now facing him. "AH! WAIT! NO! THE DIALS ARE BACKWARDS! STO-" His roaring stopped when he slammed into another tree, activating the dials, and ripping his front to bloody shreds. His eyes rolled into the back of his head as his body slid down the tree, stopping on the ground. He felt multiple hands grab him by the hair before pulling his face out of the dirt.
"What you destroyed were priceless treasures that can never be replaced. A history that has been hidden from the world. Do you understand what you've done?" she asked him in a neutral tone.
"I...I understand..." he wheezed in pain. "I won't...do it again...please...forgive-"
"No. Nothing you say can make me forgive you." she said in a cold tone.
"THEN I'LL KILL YOU!" Yama roared, his second wind coming. He grabbed Robin in one hand and prepared to break her neck with the other, only for more arms to sprout from his shoulders and bend his fingers backwards. "AH! MY FINGERS!" he cried as Robin crossed her arms, ready to end the fight.
"CIEN FLEUR! DELPHINIUM!" she cried out as 100 arms sprouted on the ground, each arm rolling a screaming Yama down the path and right off the ledge. "Know the weight of the sins you've commited." she said as Yama continued to cry out in pain. "CLUTCH!" The sound of Yama crashing into the ground below didn't faze Robin. But the screaming afterwards did. "Hmm?" she hummed in confusion as she walked towards the ledge and gazed over the side. "Those screams sounded familiar." She closed her eyes and raised her arms, causing more to sprout a continous line down the ledge before any eye appeared on the last one. She tried making out the figures before her vision was covered in white. Her arms disappeared as she took a few steps away from the ledge just in time to see a giant shadown fly over her head. 'He survived?!' she thought in shock before it landed behind her, revealing the shadow to be four figures huddled together.
"Meeeeeh!" cried another enforcer, a grin on his face as he held a thumbs up. "Told ya I could make it up here! If your crew is as strong as you say they are, then only one of them could've defeated Chief Enforcer Yama!" he explained, though his associates didn't hear him when they saw Robin.
"ROBIN!" cried Vivi and Grace, with Carue giving a weak, but joyful, quack.
"Princess? Miss Painter? How did you get here?" Robin asked in astonishment before looking at the enforcer. "And who is this?"
"He's our 'friend', and he's helping us carry Carue." Grace explained while gesturing to the paint symbol on his shirt.
"Leave it to me!" the enforcer cried out with a grin. "And since you're friends with them, I won't attack you!" he explained to Robin, who could only smile at him.
"Hey, Robin? Have you seen Chopper?" Vivi asked.
"I'm afraid I haven't since you all ran off." Robin replied before looking off in the distance. "But, if he's still heading for the gold, then we should meet up with him soon."
-On the Going Merry-
"Wait! You're leaving, Weird Knight?" Nami asked. After the fighting had ended on the ship, Nojiko was taken inside the ship to heal alongside Sanji and Usopp, leaving Nami, Alvida, Johnny, Yosaku, and Valerie to defend it from further threats.
"I'm sorry, but I must know what has happened to my army!" Gan Fall explained as he and Pierre prepared to leave.
"But, what if more of those weirdos come here?!" Nami asked him.
"If they come here, we'll kick their ass!" Johnny answered with a grin.
"Just like those two fatasses from before!" Yosaku added.
"And what if Enel returns?! What then?!" Nami snapped.
"I do not believe he will return." Gan Fall stated. "If he meant to kill you all, he would've done so when he first came. Now, I bid you farewell." And with that, he and Pierre left.
"WAIT!" Nami yelled.
"Leave him be." Valerie told her as blood dripped from her heels onto the deck. "There's not much we can do but head towards our destination and wait for the others to return."
"I'm hoping we make it there at all!" Nami snapped before an explosion of white appeared in front of their ship, causing all the conscious members to freak out. They prepared themselves for an attack, only for a friendly voice to call out to them amidst the sound of a trumpet playing.
"EVERYONE! HESO!" Conis called out to them with a smile.
"HESO!" Pagaya greeted them all with a friendly wave.
"Conis? Pagaya?" Nami said in surprise.
"How'd they get here?" Johnny asked while Yosaku shrugged as the trumpet continued to blare at them.
"WILL YOU TURN THAT OFF?!" Alvida barked. Soon Conis and Pagaya, along with a Shandian girl named Aisa, were on board the ship.
"STAY BACK, FILTHY BLUE-SEA DWELLERS! I'M A SHANDIAN WARRIOR!" Aisa yelled at them while holding a dial attached to a stick at them. That seemed to earn her a hard pinch to the nose from a pissed off Nami. With her sister nearly blasted to pieces, she was not in the mood for any crap from a little girl.
"I could care less!" Nami snapped back as the rest of the crew spoke with Conis and Pagaya.
"Well, I'm sorry, but we've much to discuss. Please direct your craft down the Milky Road we've created." he told them.
-With Enel-'
God Enel, having descended from his throne, decided to meet and greet some Shandian warriors, which involved shocking one with his powers and taunting the other with his words. Deciding to give Kamakiri a 'fighting' chance, Enel declared that he would sit on the branch he was on and do absolutely nothing for five minutes, giving Kamakiri the chance to attack him however he pleased. True to his word, Enel didn't so much and move a muscle from where he sat as Kamakiri attacked in vain. His latest attempt was lodging his spear through Enel's head, which only served as a tool for Enel to send his electricity through.
"Do you understand now, Kamakiri?" Enel asked as Kamakiri twitched in pain. "I can't be harmed. I am what man has fear since ancient times: Lightning. You've must've seen a discharge once in your life."
"I...I can't beat you...can I?" Kamakiri struggled to ask.
"Exactly." Enel smirked before it fell as his eyes looked to his right. 'Two voices are approaching fast.' he thought before he closed his eyes, a calm smile on his face. "Well, this is a surprise." he said as he opened them again to find Luffy standing there. "The Blue-Sea Dweller that claimed I wasn't God, correct?"
"That's right." Luffy nodded while Nola waited below, her body coiling up around a different tree.
'That Blue-Sea Dweller? Where'd he come from?' Kamakiri thought as he stared at Luffy in bewildernment.
"I must say, I'm surprised. The Lord of the Sky isn't a beast that can be easily tamed." Enel mused as he looked between Luffy and Nola before stopping on Luffy. "Why have you appeared before me?"
"I came to kick your ass, Enel!" Luffy growled.
"You should mind your tongue mortal." Enel told him. "You may not see me as God, but I assure that I am."
"And what exactly makes you God?" Luffy asked him as he cracked his knuckles, earning a smirk from Enel.
"I'll gladly show you." he said before his eyes turned to Kamakiri. "Your five minutes are up." he told him before vanishing, then reappearing behind Kamakiri.
'SHIT!' Kamakiri mentally cursed as Enel reached for him, his hand glowing with power. Enel scowled as Luffy pushed Kamakiri out of the way towards the Milky Road.
"Since you're so eager to die, I'll let you take his punishment." Enel said as his scowl turned into a grin. "60,000,000 Volt VARI!" A massive bolt of energy filled the area, followed by Enel's laughter.
-Kamakiri-
Kamakiri yelled a "RUN!" at Luffy before hitting the Milky Road. The warrior could only make out shadows dance around the shining bolt of blue as he looked to the surface from under the blanket of white. If he hadn't the need for air, he would have sighed in resignation when one of the shadows fell over after the light faded from above.
'It's not use.' he thought in despair. 'Enel can't be stopped. Not by any of us. Even the Reject Dial of Wiper's can't stop him! He's...invincible!' His tears mixed with the Milky Road as he began to swim under it, hoping to avoid Enel and search for Wiper. 'I have to warn Wiper, before he throws his life away!' he thought. He swam for a few seconds before something pulled him out of the clouds and back onto the branch. He sputtered and coughed up cloud water before looking up to a shocking sight. He saw Luffy's arm retract back to it's original size after releasing him...and he was perfectly okay.
"You okay?" Luffy asked him, shaking him from his thoughts.
"What? But...how?" Kamakiri said in confusion. "How are you okay? I saw Enel attack you with his electricity! You should be dead!"
"Nah. I'm totally fine!" Luffy grinned, which only seemed to deepen Kamakiri's confusion. "Though Enel's not feeling too good."
"Huh? What's that mean? Where is God Enel?" Kamakiri asked. He got his answer when Luffy pointed at the tree that owned the branch they were sitting on. Kamakiri's jaw slowly dropped as he examined a man sized hole going straight through the tree, the next one, and many others.
"Somewhere on the other side of Upper Yard." Luffy grinned.
-Other side of Upper Yard-
"G-GOD ENEL!" screamed an enforcer as he, another enforcer, and two Shandian warriors stared down at Enel lying face down in the dirt. All for fighters were in absolute shock at seeing God lying before them.
'Impossible!' thought one of the warriors as the other enforcer looked at the tree that Enel flew through in horror. Enel slowly began to stir as he slowly started to rise on all fours.
'What happened?!' thought the other warrior before his grip on his weapon tightened. 'Doesn't matter! This is our chance!' "DIE, ENEL!" he cried out as he lunged at Enel, his spear impaling the back of Enel's head. Nothing happened for a moment before a flash of light engulfed the area, then quickly left. Enel rose on wobbly legs as the four men around him fell, their bodies charred black. He was actually forced to use his golden staff to support him as he coughed up some blood, an imprint of a fist left on his stomach. His breathing was ragged as he looked up in the direction he flew from, his eyes bloodshot, his mind racing with many questions.
'How was I hit?! How was that Blue-Sea Ape able to withstand my attack?! I am GOD! I AM ALMIGHTY!' His anger came out in a vicious shout that seemed to echo throughout all of Skypiea.
"INSOLENT MORTAL!"
A/N: Hopefully I can make more changes from canon from here. Hope you all enjoyed. Also, the poll is still up for whether Enel lives or dies.
