AN: This chapter will take place in multiple places so I will distinguish where it is with asterisks.
Atop Mount Etna stood a large fortress where Ouranos stood looking out over a large plain to the north. Even from here he could see the figure standing on a cliff in the distance. He could see the sunlight from the setting sun on its golden armor, a cloak flowing in the wind. Upon the land behind the figure stood an army that was 10,000 strong, filled with monsters ranging from empousa to drakons. Standing opposite was Ouranos's army of 15,000 of similar monsters all loyal to Ouranos and ready to fight to the death for their lord.
Kronos stood on the edge of the cliff his most loyal generals behind him with. His army stood ready to charge. Kronos looked towards his men before bellowing loudly, "Alright men today we stand on the precipice of change. We march today not for power or fame, we march for justice. Ten years ago to this very day Ouranos made a coward's decision when he went into Othrys and murdered our queen and princess, now we make him regret that decision. As of now he sits on his throne and he's not worried, he thinks we are weak, let's show him just how strong we are. Let's show him what happens when you strike one of us down, many more will go on in their place. This is your chance for vengeance for what happened to your princess, so go out there and take it. FOR PERSEPHONE!"
The army gave a cry of agreement before they charged at the enemy. As Kronos's army got closer a drove of bulls burst ahead of the front line meeting Ouranos's army with a deadly charge. Empousa and Dracaenae were being impaled left and right leaving a trail of golden dust as they made their way through the army of monsters. The two armies clashed together with the sound of metal crashing against metal. The very ground they stood on slowly being covered in gold dust. As the battle waged Kronos could see that the numbers were starting to come into play as he was losing more and more troops, waving his hand forward he singled to the Hydra, Chimera, Nemean Lion, and the Colchian Drakon to move forward and join the fight. These four monsters were enough to turn the tide. They were taking out Ouranos's monsters quicker than they could send to reinforce the line and were pushing them back. That was until Ouranos played quite possibly the best card he had in his arsenal, with a snap of his fingers, Prometheus, Astraeus, Oceanus, Lelantos, Helios, and Menoetius all appeared on the battlefield. Kronos look upon the Titans who had betrayed him with utter disdain, looking towards his loyal brothers, he nodded and that was all it took for Iapetus, Krios, Koios, Perses, Hyperion, and Pallas to take off to deal with the traitors, while Atlas stayed with his King
Iapetus and Pallas left a trail of wreckage as they made their way to Oceanus and Lelantos. Perses left carnage anywhere he went, laughing maniacally as monsters tried to run away from him, eventually making his way to Menoetius. Hyperion didn't even bother going through the monsters just appearing out of a ball of fire right in front of Helios. Krios and Koios just waited knowing that any moment the final two, Prometheus and Astraeus would show up, which they did.
*With Iapetus and Oceanus*
"TRAITOR!" Iapetus bellowed towards Oceanus as he readied his spear to fight his own brother.
"I am not a traitor, I stayed loyal to our father. You on other hand sided with Kronos over the man that gave you your immortal life." Oceanus rebuked while holding his serpent on his left hand and a short sword with his right. "Tell me, why?"
"You stand before me, knowing what he did to our niece, the princess to the titan throne, and question me on why I chose not to side with our father" Iapetus snapped back, before lunging forward with his spear towards Oceanus's chest. Easily dodging the forward trust Oceanus struck back with his serpent. Narrowly avoiding the serpent Iapetus was grazed on the arm but Oceanus's follow up strike with his sword. Flipping his spear in his hand he landed a solid blow with the blunt end to Oceanus's chest which knocked him back a couple feet. Pressing his attack he pushed forwards with a couple of jabs towards the knees of his opponent, only to have the miss as Oceanus sidestepped and the two began again in a beautiful display of parrying and dodging, an impressive feat for two beings of their size and stature.
*Pallas and Lelantos*
"Give up Lele,'' Pallas teased as he easily blocked both of Lelantos's hunting knives. "You've never been able to beat me even with your bow, what makes you think now is gonna be any different?"
"Stop calling me that," Lelantos hissed back before trying a low swipe with his blade, which was easily kicked away.
"There is your first mistake, I thought I told you never to get angry during a fight. It blinds you to what is happening around you." Pallas laughed. Lelantos roared in response and tried to charge him, he didn't see the blunt end of Pallas's spear till it was too late. Connecting hard across Lelantos's jaw it sent him to the ground unconscious. Pallas simply put him in chains and teleported him back to Kronos and Atlas to be detained. Pallas then simply watched Iapetus and Oceanus fight in case he had to step in.
*Perses and Menoetius*
"Are you ready to die? I hope you don't go down too easy, I would really like to test that title of violent rage you have." Perses said with a deep chuckle that sent shivers down Menoetius's spine. That was how the battle between the Titan of destruction and the Titan of anger began. Perses slammed his broadsword down on Menoetius's dual short swords breaking through the weak guard it was defended with. Perses swung towards his opponent with a large overhead swing that buried his sword in the dirt when Menoetius moved out of the way. Quickly recovering Menoetius thrust one of his swords deep in Perses's side. Perses just laughed, grabbing the hand on the sword that was in his abdomen, pulling it closer staring deep into Menoetius's eyes with a sinister grin, raising his left hand he slapped Menoetius hard into the ground. Placing his left foot on the back of Menoetius head he did a quick lazy swipe through Menoetius's back easily separating his lower and upper body. Perses walked away laughing as Menoetius just disintegrated into golden dust.
"Disappointing" Perses commented walking away into the sea of monsters.
*Hyperion and Helios*
Hyperion's blade slammed against that of his son with enough force to crack the ground. Helios stared into his father's eyes, his burning eyes reflected that of the sun but was dull in comparison to raging hot flames dancing in the eyes of his father. "You dare stand before me? Defending the man who killed your own sister." Hyperion growled fiercely before slamming his fist into Helios's jaw knocking his helmet off his head. Raising his hand into the air, summoning a large fireball, Hyperion sent Helios into the side of the mountain destroying a large chunk of the ground.
"Kronos was the one who got Selene killed." Helios spat back, rising from the hole, "he should have never gotten involved with her."
The Titans of the sun and light proceed to have a violent exchange with their swords throwing sparks everywhere, each trying to press the other to make a mistake. Both Titans summoned large fireballs and launched them at each other, the balls meeting in the middle of them with extreme force knocking both back and decimating the landscape all round. They were only on the ground for a moment before the fight resumed. When one wasn't blocking a strike they were striking themselves, each trying to gain the upper hand. The sun, long since set beyond the horizon was flaring violently in response to the anger of its titan. The heat being generated off the two titans was hot enough to instantly kill any monster within a 15 foot radius of the two combatants, scorching the land and even caused a reaction with the molten lava inside the mountain. Lava was starting to spew out of the craters formed whenever these two titans clashed. Empousa and Dracaenae were being burned to death by the lava flowing all over, monsters were scattering, but the lava didn't stop Hyperion and Helios from trying to kill one and other.
"Your sister loved Kronos, and she loved that child more than anything. You know she never once regretted her decision, I just hope that one day she forgives you for the dishonor you bring on her name." Hyperion scolded, he watched as his son stopped and looked down almost in shame before he lunged with a wild stab towards Hyperion's chest. Caught off guard he almost didn't move in time, spinning to the side, he got grazed across his chest piece, swinging his sword in an upward strike he caught his son right in the stomach. Watching as he fell a lone tear made its way down Hyperion's face before it evaporated due to the heat off his skin. He watched, solem, as his son slowly dispersed in gold dust, turning to his left he saw Krios and Koios just watching him, with grim looks on their faces they put a hand on his shoulders and just nodded at him.
"Already done?" Hyperion questioned.
"Yeah it wasn't difficult Prometheus surrendered almost immediately, as expected, and Astraeus wasn't a match for both of us." Krios said, " sorry about what you had to do man, no father should have to fight his son, especially after you lost your daughter already."
"It's fine, let's go kill this son of a bitch already." Hyperion growled.
The three titans made their way over to Pallas who was watching Oceanus and Iapetus go back and forth with attacks. Oceanus was definitely more powerful but Iapetus was more skilled and quicker, dodging any attack he couldn't block and making small jabs here and there with his spear. His older brother already was slowing down, not in his element he wasn't nearly as powerful as he truly was. Any attack landed on Iapetus was nothing more than a scratch. Iapetus dodged an overhand strike from Oceanus quickly spinning around Oceanus he drove his spear through the back of his brother's knee, the spear going into the ground. Iapetus kicked the spear as hard as he could, the spear and the knee jerked sideways with a vicious snap. Falling onto the ground with a scream Oceanus looked up at his younger brother to see the end of a spear at his nose.
"Surrender. We may let you go without having to take a trip to reform." Iapetus said, smirking.
"Fine, you win" Oceanus said, after being chained up Oceanus was teleported away by Koios.
In the distance a loud thunderbolt happened and lightning struck the ground decimating monster in a fifty foot radius, emerging from the dust was Ouranos himself. Immediately Ouranos raised his sword made of lightning to block the spear that almost pierced his chest. Appearing in front of him was Kronos and Atlas, soon to be followed by Perses, Pallas, Iapetus, Krios, Koios, Hyperion. Kronos was just about to say something when a large boulder slammed into Ouranos, looking towards where it came from he saw Typhon and the Nemean Lion charging towards Ouranos. With a loud crack lightning came down and obliterated the boulder on him, looking towards Kronos and his brothers Ouranos just thrust his hand in the air summoning a bolt of lightning that slammed into the ground in front of the titans, throwing them all to the ground. Atlas, being the first one on his feet, charged Ouranos and showed exactly why he is the titan of endurance. Atlas stood toe to toe with Ouranos. Ouranos's sword against Atlas's spear and shield. Ouranos was getting increasingly frustrated, because every strike was being blocked by the shield and Atlas's was just jabbing his spear into his joints, missing the armor plates by millimeters. Ouranos was fed up and shouted, forcing Atlas back. A lightning bolt, larger than anything Ouranos had summoned up to that point slammed into Ouranos's sword forming a large ball, before being hurled at Atlas. Atlas couldn't think of a way out of this situation, he knew he couldn't dodge it or block it. Thinking he would have to do his best to block it and hope for the best, his thinking was cut off when Hyperion jumped in front of him while throwing an even larger fireball. The two balls of energy collided in a beautiful and deadly display of lightning and fire. Fire and lighting danced together destroying anything in the area as it exploded knocking everyone back to the ground.
Ouranos got to his feet just to instantly be back on the defensive as Atlas, Iapetus, Pallas, and Perses attacked him with perfect teamwork. When Atlas and Pallas would attack Perses and Iapetus would block the counter and vice versa. Ouranos was getting pushed back, and was getting increasingly more enraged. Which was bad for the titans. With a roar Ouranos threw all four titans off him. Charging at Kronos he swung wildly but just before he could he was jumped on by the Nemean Lion and then when he got the lion off him he was swatted aside by Typhon. Getting to his fee Ouranos shook with rage, he knew he was the strongest being in this fight. But he was struggling. With a shout lightning struck the ground right in front of him, and what was produced from that lighting was enough to put all the titans and even Typhon down.
Turning Ouranos struck each Titan multiple times with more and more lighting raising the power behind each strike. The earth shook from the force. Krios and Koios were down with the first strike, two strikes later and Pallas, Perses and Iapetus were down, another one and Kronos and Hyperion went down, it took another one to get Atlas on his knees and 4 more after that to knock Typhon down. Ouranos looked towards Atlas smiling.
"I respect you Atlas, not many people could take that much punishment after fighting me one on one. I see that the title of Titan of endurance wasn't just talk. I hope, when you die, that you are remembered by someone." Ouranos said before striking Atlas with another, stronger bolt of lightning finally knocking him out of the fight. Walking over till he stood about Kronos with his sword at his neck. "You gave it a good try, I must say, never expected to actually break a sweat fighting you and your brothers. But alas all good things but eventually reach a violent end. When you get to the other side tell Selene and that child I said hi."
Ouranos swung his sword about to decapitate Kronos when he stopped staring at the pulsating moon. Ouranos had just opened his mouth to speak when a black and gold arrow pierced his throat. Dropping his sword and grabbing his throat, Ouranos could feel his life force slipping away. The save by the arrow and his energy being replenished was all he needed to grab his scythe from where it lay and deliver a vicious slash across Ouranos throat taking his head clean off, before cutting his father to pieces. Looking up at the pulsating moon, a figure standing in the distance caught his eye, he couldn't make out any features on it but even at that distance he could feel Selene's essence, and could see on the silhouette two glowing eyes staring at him from a distance, one silver one gold. Helplessly he could feel Selene's essence grow faint, and watched as the figure dissipated, not into dust but into nothingness. It must have been Selene and Persephone, using their energy to reform just slightly to save him, before fading before his eyes. Looking over to his family who was just starting to stir, with tears in his eyes, they knew. They had won the war, but the next ruler of the Titans had faded.
