Dee arrived at Ryo's place to find his lover hot, flustered, and annoyed, in the middle of preparing the Christmas feast.
"Hey, looks like you could use a hand with that."
Ryo smiled gratefully. "I really could. Everything seems to be going wrong; at this rate, dinner won't be ready when the rest of the guests arrive."
"What happened? You're always so organised."
"I know, and I thought I was this year as well, but the subway was packed last night; it took me almost three hours to get home! After Bikky went to bed I thought I'd have a cup of tea, then get a head start on the dinner preparations, but I fell asleep on the sofa and didn't wake up until this morning! Now I'm way behind; I only put the turkey in to cook half an hour ago!"
"Okay, stop panickin' and calm down; it'll be fine. What does it matter if dinner's an hour or two late? No one's gonna starve."
"I know they won't. I just hate having to rush."
"So don't; rushin' will only stress ya out even more than y'already are. Just tell me what ya need me to do, and I'll do it."
Taking a deep breath, Ryo let it out slowly. "Thanks, Dee. If you could peel the potatoes and carrots while I do the sprouts?"
"No problem. Between us, we'll soon get everything sorted. There's nothin' for you to worry about."
Ryo smiled. "What would I do without you?"
