"What the **** happened to you?" Lute heard and for once was not in the mood to indulge Adam.

"Where is the court?" Lute asked, storming past the exorcist leader.

"Why? How should I know?" Lute heard as she turned.

"Because some half-angel asshole just killed my entire squad and threw me around the snow like a toy!" Lute hissed, turning on her heel. "They're a Nephilim! What is a Nephilim!?" Lute roared before a very formal voice broke in.

"The Nephilim… Are extinct, there should not be one left alive." They heard as they turned.

"Well, they are! One wiped out my entire squad, treated me like garbage, and flew off on their merry f****** way." Lute stated the respect she usually had was absent now.

She was silent, curious as to HOW best to describe the hate and humiliation she had gone through for now. She knew damn well that the Nephilim existed at least.

"Wait, you mean that half devil, half angel freaks are real!?" Adam asked before Sera frowned.

"Half devil!? No, there is no damn way that thing is half devil!" Lute said as Sera snorted.

"Can you both REFRAIN from discussing these things in person?" Sera asked, leveling something of a glare at Adam.

Lute still held the rage inside her. She came back from a mission where one abomination had butchered her entire squad, there was no damn way she was going to let that go so easily.

"Those freaks are dead, we wiped them all out years ago!" Adam yelled as Sera silenced him.

"You missed a few… Lute, you are telling me a Nephilim attacked you? That was the angelic being out in the Arctic?" Sera asked as they walked.

"Yeah, that's what they called themselves, double pair of wings, rip-off exorcist mask," Lute stated as Adam snorted.

"Sounds like some clown trying to be like us," Adam stated before Sera glared at him.

"If you knew anything about the war to get rid of them? You would know that it took a LOT to wipe out the Nephilim. They are no slouches at violence…" Sera hissed before Lute snorted.

"Then I'll kill him myself," Lute stated before Sera sighed.

"You cannot kill a Nephilim that easy! Their half-angel, they can match any exorcist in combat… If you are that foolish? They will kill you!" Sera stated which was ignored.

Sera despite how prideful she was? Felt like their army was made from children at times. Adam would not allow a single person to get the better of them and she knew Lute was going to get into a fight either way when it came down to it, there was no other way to deal with that.

Now and for good were they screwed, if nothing else? She knew both were just as easily going to get butchered.

She could not do much about Lute but she could get Adam to listen at least for a few keen seconds.

"You want to hunt them? Fine… But do not take them lightly… Their monsters in a fight and in general, such unholy blood makes them even more dangerous tainted by ours." Sera muttered as she flew off.

All Adam could do was question what he had missed and why someone less important could have done this.

Then again? He did honestly believe Lute was going to tear after them, there was not a single soul who she would let go for now and it was clear more would have to be done to fix it for now.

All of it was something that he knew well enough.

(With Lute)

Lute grabbed another of the angelic blades and put it on her belt before donning another of the exorcist masks.

"I am going to watch the light die in his eyes…" Lute hissed, humiliated, and enraged.

"So, this half-angel chump beat you? Pff… Probably could not even scratch me." Adam joked before Lute turned.

"I'm going to rip off his head as a trophy then slice off his wings and make him BEG for me to kill him," Lute stated as she paused to make sure she had enough weapons.

Adam bristled for a moment. Lute was ALWAYS bloodthirsty and jackass or not? He knew damn well this girl wanted to kill someone? She would stop at nothing to kill them.

To be fair? Almost every Exorcist was bloodthirsty but Lute had most of that bloodlust when it came down to it all now. Now and for a good reason? All too much had to be distracted.

There was chaos for now as she looked to the side, an idea like this was more than she needed now. They had to end it for now.

Still? Adam was not stupid, Lute wanted someone dead and they would allow something else to end like this… A pain when it all came down to it… There was a lot more to deal with.

Adam decided that there were a lot of different things at the time when it came down.

"Lute, chill. This guy's a loser, he is not going to be that dangerous… We find him, we kill him." Adam stated before the angel pointed her sword at him.

"He's mine," Lute stated before flying off, eager for a rematch as Adam sighed.

He knew damn well she was going to do this even if it killed her for now… Now and for a good reason, there were a lot of different ways this ended, none of them were good and none of them would be fun now.

Lute would go for blood even if he interfered and while it was no skin off his back? There was a high chance she got in trouble and would have been killed for now.

Now it had been something else and something chaotic… And part of the angel knew he was not stupid enough to survive another fight for now as he tried to deal with for now.

There was a lot more to deal with for now when it came down to it, there was a lot more to deal with for now.

He watched as she flew off, a snarling beast who was eager to snap and kill like an unchained mutt. She knew damn well she would get killed by the Nephilim.

Only a fool would think otherwise when it came down to it now at the end of the day, there was nothing else left to deal with.

He sighed to himself before he hummed. There was nothing else left to deal with for now, nothing else to understand before the chaos.

He could only question what had brought out the more feral side of her… Before he thought of it all.

By the time he had gathered his thoughts? He had a lot more to deal with for now.

"Oy… Sera is going to kill my ass," Adam muttered before the jackass of an angel followed.

(With the Nephilim)

The Nephilim hummed as he furled his wings inside. Did he know damn well that as the only Nephilim out in the open? They were hunting him more than anyone else. He had been amused for now and he had a lot more to distract it for now.

Good. He wanted their attention; it allowed the Nephilim to hide while they went after him before cracking his knuckles.

Part of him did not want to draw attention to Hell. Then again? What was he to do? If he stayed on Earth? They would come down to hunt him and he knew more and more thrown off for now.

He sighed to himself and then shook his head before he knew what was growing for now.

He was going to have to face the angels sooner or later… So? If nothing else? He would save traveling to the underworld again and such for a good reason.

The Nephilim was too tired for now to stop himself from fighting. He would fight, he would continue to relax for now.

'If they want a damn fight, they will get a fight for now.' The Nephilim hummed and then relaxed once more and then shook his head once more.

The half-angel seemed to be relaxed. There was exhaustion for the time being on his mind and he cracked his fingers and crossed his arms. The Nephilim was exhausted and he leaned on the wall before now.

He sighed and cracked his back before he looked around and spread his wings to fly again, taking to the air like a fighter jet.

He was too exhausted to deal with it for a moment and he smiled for now as he cracked his fingers and smiled more for the end of the day.

He was smiling inside as he relaxed once more and then sighed to himself and shook his head. There was little left to distract them from what needed to be done.

Fine then… If they found him once? He had let them do so again, he needed someone to talk to now.

There was a moment of desire left within him for now, he had no idea as to what was growing on his mind.

He would not allow this to get in the way, there was a lot more left to come that way.

The angel from before bothered him, greatly in fact… Truly thrown off by how she could be so arrogant, so vile.

How exactly did she intend to stop him? She could not stop him in a fight, even she had to know that and all of them did for now.

Perhaps he could try to help her for now and it was a lot more than he wished to have done now… It was not something that he expected.

Perhaps he could make an ally. He did not expect every damn angel to be so nice but at the very least? He had no real deal to deal with for now… Something about it made him thrown off.

He sighed as he realized he had no idea what he should have been doing for now at the time being as he shook his head.

"Where is she anyway?" He asked before a spark of light came from above. "Fine… If you want a fight? Let us fight." He stated before he shook his head.

He could have been done now without the idea of a sick joke like this but if she wanted a damn fight? Oh, he would deliver.

He grinned and spread his wings, he had not had a good fight in ages and it was time he stopped hiding anyway if he was going to drag them out of hiding.

He so much wanted a damn fight anyway before he got her to listen.

(With Lute)

Lute was about to go hunting for the monster when they decided apparently to come to her, unfurling their wings as he snorted.

"You want to talk or try and rip my head off?" He sneered; blades pointed at her. "Because I told you to leave me alone." He stated, flapping his wings.

"You're mine, freak show." Lute hissed as the Nephilim chuckled and spun his swords.

"No… I ain't." He said before flapping his wings and shaking his head. "You're mine." He said with a grin which meant he so damn wanted to fight for now and for a good reason now… Now and now.

He was tired, too tired, and yet at the same time eager to fight… Something else to deal with for now.

He spread his wings and smirked before rushing forward, he dodged around the slices at his neck and kicked her before flying away.

"Either you can fight or you can't…" He said before flying off. "And for an angel? I thought you guys could fight." He said, swirling into the ground and soaring along it.

'Just get her too mad to care… Then take her down.' He thought to himself as he flew off, circling to dodge her frenzied slices.

Lute slammed into him, sending them skidding across the ground as the Nephilim used his wings to propel himself back up. She slammed her blades down and into his as he snorted and stood up, reminding her that he was still taller than her.

"Did you even think of a plan or just went 'I am so angry I'm going to murder the f*** out of them with my angriness!? Because this does not feel much like a plan." The Nephilim stated, dodging around, and breaking their grappling match.

"I plan to slice you up like the abomination you are!" Lute hissed as he snorted.

"You know, when I guessed you were the leader of that group? I expected a challenge, some skill to back up that authority, and some experience not to lose it… But you are just an angry little pigeon swinging around your fancy swords." He stated before dodging away.

"Stay still so I can skewer you! You will be lucky to lick the dirt off my boots!" Lute hissed as the Nephilim chuckled.

"How can an angel be so dirty-minded?" He questioned as she let out another feral scream of rage.

He continued to dodge around and around. He knew damn well he could not take hits from those swords; they would still hurt and even kill if she got lucky.

However? Rather than fight defensively like him? It seemed she would rather rampage around like a feral beast and that just made it easier for him to subdue her.

'She gets too angry and I get too sloppy and I'm still at her mercy, though.' He thought as he finally decided to push her back with his wings.

Lute dug her swords into the ground as he snorted and looked at her. Neither could read the other with their masks on but he guessed she was snarling mad. He had heard for a LONG time that angels were so hypocritical of anything not of angel creation.

Now he had proof of that. He knew damn well she was a soldier of the Seraphim, those damn monsters who had helped wipe out his kind.

"You want to fight? That is ALL you came out here to do? Stab and murder and murder stab?" He questioned as they began circling each other. "I killed those exorcists because they tried killing me, you didn't come out here to avenge them, did you?" He questioned, blades spinning in his hands.

She glowered, mask setting into a frown as she looked at him. He panted in exhaustion for a moment, trying his best to catch his breath.

Before either could do something? An angelic wave of energy slammed down in front of them. He threw himself back and darted into the smoke.

"Yeah, run asshole! Not so tough when the first man is after ya, huh!?" Adam asked as Lute glowered.

"Damn it, Adam! He was mine!" Lute hissed, growling from behind her mask as she paused to think of what was growing on her mind for now and it had to be something else to predict.

There was a lot more to deal with for now… It was something Lute hated and she fought the desire to stab the angel commander in a rage as she realized he had escaped, there would have been something left of the body if he had gotten hit.

There was something else to be done with and for a good reason. She huffed and rushed towards the smoke. He had decided to try and rush off the battlefield.

She had been too tired now as she paused to think of it all as he sighed to himself. He had been distracted and the Nephilim had slipped away for the moment.

Adam watched as Lute flew off and into the fire and then thought of what was growing on her mind.

"What the f*** is her deal!?" Adam asked before she snorted and then thought of how best to kill this guy.

She knew more and more what was going on when it came down to fighting. If this could even be called a fight for now, he would be surprised if the guy was not a corpse now.

(With Lute and the Nephilim)

"Get the hell back here!" Lute roared as the Nephilim snorted.

"Why? So, you could double-team me!? Cannot fight your battles yourself?!" The Nephilim stated as he flew off before he slowly started to fly upwards and into the ground.

He looked upwards and then stared up at her. He could outfly her easily but the other Angel? He would not have a chance against them.

He had a lot more intelligence than she did and it appeared he was smart enough to see this battle would not have allowed him to get what he wanted.

"You want to finish this? Then let us finish this! No backup!" He stated before he glared at her.

He sighed to himself as he thought of what was coming down the line. If she said no? He had very little options when it came to the list of things that he had to do.

They would either lose the fight or he barely won. It was something else now… A fight he had to win, a battle he would need to overcome.

Lute looked up at Adam who flew over before he snorted once more, a gesture she began to realize that they had to fight, they had a lot more to do, and he? He was tired, beaten down by it to the nth level degree.

He paused to think of it all now and for a good reason for now. An idea for the time being and something else about it all had to be a chaotic little thing they could both enjoy from now.

He sighed mentally to himself with sheer exhaustion now. It had to be done at the very least, he could claim that he would go down fighting.

Lute growled but said nothing to say she would deny that. She wanted to fight him, she wanted to fight him when it came down to it.

There was a lot more to their fight than just glares, however. She looked at Adam who still had not shaken the smirk he had on his face.

"Fine… Adam, let me kill him." Lute stated before she shook her head.

"Hey, I want to kill them!" Adam stated as Lute glared at him before they looked to the side.

Adam frowned, sighed, and decided it was not worth it. He had better things to do anyway and he was not all the way interested in it all before this was done.

He flew off and into the sky. Lute looked at the Nephilim and spun her swords, glancing to the ground.

He tapped his swords on the ground, a deep breath exhaling from his masked face as he paused. They glared at each other, the holographic masks narrowing as they clenched their fists once more.

There was a moment of silence, too exhausted in their ways had they been beaten down into the ground. He shook his head before he looked to the sky, scanning it for Adam.

They leaped at each other, snarling like wild animals, she stabbed at him as he sighed and kicked her backward. He watched as Lute held her chest as she grunted and then tossed herself at him.

He parried the blades, sparks flying from the blades as he ducked the next swing and sent her flying with his wings.

"I am done with angels hunting us down just for existing." The Nephilim stated, spinning his blades through his fingers.

He would not have allowed her to win, the gleam of his mask showed sparks as he flew off to try and flank her. He knew damn well if she landed a good hit? He would be put on the back foot, differences physical in-between them.

"You are nothing but filthy freak!" Lute stated as the Nephilim crossed his arms.

"Freak!? Lady, I am half angel! You want me to point out that makes you a half-freak!?" He questioned, sparks flying as their swords banged together before he sent her flying back for now.

There was a moment of exhaustion. He sighed to himself as he aimed both blades at her. He flew forward, flapping both wings as he slammed her into the ground shoulder first before he sighed to himself and then shook his head.

"You are sloppy. You are incapable of realizing how self-righteous you sound." He stated before he started to pace back and forth before he looked at her again. "You can either give up or I can knock you out and leave you here." He stated and glanced at her before he snorted once again.

He had a lot more to do even if he had captured her at the time being as he and her circled each other, their swords cutting grooves along the floor now. it had been something else to deal with and a thing he decided to push off towards later.

She glared at him as he… Sighed, shook his head, and suddenly burst through the air towards her, slamming a wing into Lute as he leaped into the air.

"You cannot win this fight; I will not let you… If you get me? I know what will happen after that." He stated before blocking her backswing.

She was dangerous, sure… But so was he. She still had to dodge each slash leveled at her head before a kick sent her to the ground.

The Nephilim spun the blades in his hands and looked at her, trying to draw her into making a mistake he could exploit.

Still? The second he tossed himself into the battle? He relished it deep down when it came to their fight.

'Why do I enjoy fighting so badly? Because I am going to go insane if I do not slash and hack at her.' He thought before barely dodging a slash from her.

He sighed to himself, too exhausted to do more than wait… Or at least, he wanted her to think that.

"C'mon…. Unless you are scared." He stated, amused more than anything at the time.

Lute growled at them, and both prepared for the final round. They growled, snarling like wild animals, and in a manner of speaking? They might as well be when it came down to it, they enjoyed fighting and angels.

Well, violence was fun for them. He would not deny this fight was enjoyable and yet it was clear she was enjoyable when it came down to it now.

He decided this was not going to be fun with his swords before slamming both into the ground. He glanced at her before smirking, daring her to do so.

"I'm going to rip your head off!" Lute hissed before she lunged at him.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter is done! A few things.

I am aware of how powerful Adam is… And unskilled or not? He is too much for the protagonist to fight.

While I know Lute is a… Monster, I want to try and write anyway.

3? The weakness angels have? Nephilim has it still on account of being a half angel.

The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will be 900-6500 words and show the end of the fight between Lute and the Nephilim. Until then, Lighting Wolf is out!
