Chapter 60: a tear in space
Miruko panted heavily as she quickly wrapped together several large lengths of rebar using some rope that she found during the fight. She was seriously getting sick and tired of the damned Icon of Sin, especially since it just demolished that cafe she liked which served carrot cake and the fact that it had been half an hour of attacking it and it still wasn't dead. A grunt of annoyance signalled her father being sent flying once more, this time towards a gore best in an exposed sewer system that All Might was fighting towards. A primal scream of anger let loose from her lips as she jumped from the rooftop as she saw her mother get swatted into the ground and stomped on by the Icon, her makeshift spear held above her head as she dived for the beast's exposed brain. With a swift movement she bought it down resulting in a spray of blood and brain matter.
The Icon shrieked in pain as it threw its head back sending Miruko flying over its back at breakneck speeds boosted by the pulse of Argent energy that burst forth from the exposed gash in the brain. The rabbit hero barely had time to reorient herself before her leg slammed into a miraculously still standing light post atop the UA stadium wall which flipped her as she slammed face first into a group of people, kicking up dust as she did so.
Whoever she landed on was warm and comfortable "and smells good" Miruko mentally admitted to herself as she pushed herself up while ignoring her blushing cheeks and planted her hand on something warm and firm. As she dust settled that warm, comfy and firm thing turned out to be the Cenobite kid with the flames for hair she met yesterday. "The heck you looking at d-dork?"
"My mum." The kid squeaked as he looked past her, his skull quickly engulfed in a roaring inferno of green fire that did little more than warm and tickle at her arms and face.
Miruko raised an eyebrow before turning and saw a green haired woman with an amused smirk on her face.
"You're daisy's kid right?" Inko asked with a gleam in her eye
"Uh yeah. What of it?" Miruko replied as she climbed off of Izuku and by extention the two girls he had partly landed on from her knocking them over.
"Oh just a fan of her work, nine months of blood was such a wonderful occasion, the ferals were running scared and when she caught one there were such lovely screams." Inko sighed as she remembered the fun times when all the ferals got a collective reality check that you don't fuck with a pissed off Daisy. "You're blushing dear."
"Whatever, I've got to kick that things ass." Miruko shrugged while she went off towards the Icon once more as John and Daisy were once again making another run at the creature.
"Has anyone seen Eri?" Charlie asked as she slowly got back to her feet with help from Izuku and Vaggie.
"Yeah normally la peqeño diabla is cooing over her brother here, instead the bunny was doing it." Vaggie snorted with a grin.
"She's in the staff room at the moment so she doesn't get sent flying again." Inko admitted as she looked over to the giant rubber ducky where Nezu was currently sitting atop while he ate a bucket of popcorn. He was currently amusing himself watching Hatsume with help from Shinso and Cementos make an AA cannon to shoot down any of the flying demons that got too close. What was so amusing about it? Mei was bossing around Cementos and threatening Shinso with the mere idea that she would drag him to a cat cafe and not let him pet any of the cats.
"Here, take these to the little miss." Midnight called as she handed over a plate of apples to the green haired goddess. "Himiko, I need you to help me by the main tents, something tried digging under the walls before it hit the underground electric fences, we need to make sure nothing went down!" She called, rushing towards the tent.
[Elsewhere]
Eri had a serious expression on her face as she marched back and forth Infront of a tied and gagged woman with blonde hair inside the UA staff room. Said woman was currently glaring at Eri as she tried in vein to tug her hands free from her ropes which kept he stuck in a chair.
"Princess, dinner time." A voice drones as a door was opened revealing a Cenobite with a car engine sticking out their chest and several shards of metal adorning their flesh.
"Nope. I am guarding my new friend." Eri shook her head.
The Cenobite merely blinked at the woman than sighed. "Must you always get involved with our affairs young miss?"
The woman growled through her gag before Eri pulled it down allowing her to speak. "Buzz off you creep!"
"Mr Kendles isn't a creep." Eri pouted as she folded her arms. "He liked cars so Mr pinhead made him part car."
"And you, who the fuck turned you into a Cenobite kid?" The woman asked in disgust.
"Well I made daddy disappear then mummy gave me to the bad beaky men who hurt me a lot. Then new mummy killed the bad beaky boss and new mummy saved me from there and now new mummy is my new mummy. She gave me a music knife then I got a new sister when she found the music knife and made it play the song." Eri recalled with a bright smile. "My new sister likes blood and cute things like I do to!"
"Oh god I'm going to die of cuteness." The woman groaned pitifully as.
"Don't be sad. It's such a waste of suffering." The Cenobite with the engine in their chest sighed dramatically as they shook their head slowly.
It was at this time Inko entered the room with a small plate of cut up apples and a juice box. She paused and blinked at the sight before her before sighing. "Kristy how in the world do you keep ending up in these situations? Eri untie the poor girl."
"Okay mummy." Eri nodded as she went and did just that letting the nervous blonde from the chair. "She fell through a swirly thing on roof and I tied her up so she wouldn't get lost."
"I see." Inko sighed before returning her attention to the blonde. "I'm terribly sorry about that dear, would you like to stay for lunch or return to your dimension?"
"I'd like to go home, without modification thanks." Kristy snarked.
"Very well but you may have to wait a few decades or so." Inko hummed after her eyes unfocused and she started off into space. "It looks like something is interfering with the connection between your earth and hell, probably that abomination rampaging in the city."
"And how do I know that's the truth?" Kristy asked distrustfully.
"Sweety, I don't lie." Inko sighed as she shook her head. "You should know enough now to see that it's true, that and you can see the Icon of Sin outside trying to deal with the local heroes."
Eri nodded to herself as she took the plate of apples and sat down to eat them. After all apples were the best food ever so she obviously couldn't let them go to waste.
"In all seriousness it's bound to be stressful being my seeker Kristy full time, think of this as a vacation of sorts." Inko explained patiently to the increasingly annoyed woman. "This world is one where humans have powers not seen beyond fiction in yours."
"Mum! There's some bee person here for you!" Himiko called as she entered the room, a violet haired woman in a bee themed jumper following in behind her, a swarm of bees gathering around an empty eye socket.
"Hello, who are you?" Inko asked as she blinked at the woman, trying to place where she knew her from.
"Not important right now. The Pine twins sent me here, something about needing a focal point to contain the backlash of destroying the demon in the city." The woman supplied as several dozen bees started to swarm into a small ring in the middle of the room, smearing honey across the ground as they moved across it.
"A weird seal?" Inko asked softly before nodding once. "we'll be trapped here for a month or so before it disapates but it'll be the easiest way to keep the humans safe."
"We just need a drop of blood." The woman explained as the bees started moving inwards towards the centre of the circle trailing behind intricate patterns of honey as they went.
"Mummy, can I help?" Eri asked with a pleading expression.
"Sorry sweety, grown ups only." Inko replied as she shook her head gently. "Kristy, Eri, Himiko, leave the room, only the signer and the creator of such a sigel can be near it without harm."
"C'mon, this is going to be violent." Kristy ushered the two young girls out of the room, recognising the seals from her time assisting the cenobites to contain Legion during a civil war in hell. The energy output from it was enough to send a full grown dragon flying back through a stone wall, she didn't want to think about what would happen to a kid.
[Hell]
"Eight hundred and forty two bottles of beer on the wall, eight hundred and forty two bottles of beer! Knock one down, pass it around, eight hundred and forty one bottles of beer on the wall!" Danny DeVito continued to sing off key on purpose. His blonde haired captive screaming in rage though the shoe used as a gag.
"Well well well, look who showed up." A female voice hummed. Bakugo's eyes went wide as a muffled scream was heard and his struggles increased.
"Hey Cherri-bomb, you here for the guitar lessons I've been offering or need some explosives?" Danny DeVito asked.
"Neither, instead I've come to spend time with hot stuff here, what do you say blondy, want to go on a date?" Cherri bomb smirked.
"I'm gonna die again." Bakugo thought as a violent concussive force rocked all of Pentagram, several large portals tearing through the very fabric of existence itself. Through one such portal a snarling skyscraper sized demon with an exposed brain which was being stabbed by a individual in green armor was visible as Miruko tried to gauge out one of its eyes.
End.
