The next morning, Kurai was checking the Infinity College.
"So this is the Infinity College," Kuri said. "I feel an aura. The power of a strong aura is pervading it."
Kuri whirled around.
"Again..." Kuri thought. "Someone's eyes...!?"
A figure behind a tree watched her from a distance.

As Kuri rode the roller coaster with her friends, her hat flew off into the sky.
Kuri leapt off the ride and took off toward the Infinity district.
"There you are." Kuri stopped a she found Kaneki holding the hat. "What are you doing...?"
"Oh!" Kuri said. "Great. The hat I got from my brother." She saw a coffee shop, with a sign in front written in kanji. "Oh, can I read that?" She thought. "...An-tei-ku?"
Kaneki suddenly, started coughing and doubled over.
Kuri touched his shoulder. "Hey, are you okay?"
Kaneki pushed her away, terrified that he would hurt her. "I always have these fits," he said. "It'll pass in a minute. We have to leave. You shouldn't be here. S-Someone like you shouldn't…be in my world…."
He touched her face. To his surprise she smiled.
"I saw the books in your backpack last time!" Kuri rummaged and held out an ancient folklore book. "This one is dark and twisted like those others. Give it a try! And…" She kissed his cheek. "Feel better, ok?"
Kaneki stood there in shock.
Out of the corner of his eye, Kaneki saw something move. He gripped his eye. "My kakugan?"
A black mass started to appear. Snow began to fall around them.
"A monster!" Kuri cried. "Kaneki?" she called. "Kaneki! Watch out!"
She whirled in front of him protectively, and her quinque whirled through the air as she attacked the monster. It exploded, and a cat landed on the ground.
"Huh? It…wasn't a ghoul…?" Kuri said, confused. "Here I was all set to say rites for it."
Kaneki looked at her quizzically. "Rites? For a ghoul?"
"Well yeah." Kuri said incredulously. "They're people just like you and me after all. I only kill em if they're crazy like that…thing…was. I'm lobbying the CCG but they reeeeeally don't like me. Even tho I'm the only one who can…ah damn. I'm a motormouth." She ran over. "Your hurt!"
Kaneki stared at his arm. It was indeed covered in blood. And…about to heal! Oh no, she'd find out!
Too late, she was staring. "Um…it looks ok, but you should still disinfect it when you get home. Ghouls can get staff infections too!"
Kaneki stared at her. "You…You should be more careful…you know." He mumbled. "You're gonna get eaten…"
"Yeah maybe." Kuri grinned. "But still, I'm happy I met you Kaneki!"
She waved and ran off, leaving Kaneki dazed and confused.

Kuri sat in the campus library, reading a book on the Infinity Hospital. "Kano..."
Hide watched her from a study table. "Are you investigating the Infinity Hospital?" she asks. "The doctor, Kano, is very famous. Of course, he was expelled from the CCG..."
"The CCG?!"
"Well yeah, he worked there, that's how he got his license. It'll say he retired, but no, he was expelled for unlawful experimentation with ghoul hybrids."
"That's…not possible…"
"You've seen those things…the atavisms?" Hide pushed his phone to her, showing a video of one of the monster's like she had fought in front of Kaneki, only it had to be brought down by military gunfire until the CCG arrived and dispatched it, killing the victim. "They are showing up around the Infinity Zone. And they are all ex patients of him. I got a friend who was his patient…and I'm worried…"
"Ken Kaneki…" Kuri said. "So you were his friend…"
She quickly stood up, leaving Hide, like his friend, dumbfounded.
