"I can't do anything," Kurai says. "He's dying. "His body's stiffening...And getting cold... Kaneki... killed him!"
"I'm…alright…" Hide whispered. "Kuri…"
"You're alive?!" Kuri cried.
"I was…wrong…" Hide grabbed her hands. "Save Kaneki. It was a monster controlling him…it was…Rizé…not Kaneki. Save him. Save…"
He passed out. Kuri gripped him and sobbed. "How…How do I save him…isn't it…too late…?"
She closed her eyes and concentrated on saving Hide first.
"Hide, you body and mine are linked," She said. "I'll use my body's life maintenance system to keep your body alive." She held his hand, and it starts to glow.
"But then your body will be burdened..." said Hide.
"It's all right. I can at least keep this one body alive. It's no problem, it'll be fine."
"Hide... I can't choose. Kaneki. The people of this planet. I can't abandon them! I can't choose between them for us. Will it not just lead to ruin? Us... And then the world..."
"Get Kaneki back, Kuri," he says. "Do everything you can. Don't lose hope. Hope..."
"At this point..isn't death…our only hope…?"

Kaneki cut off a lock of his silver hair. "I cut and I cut, it grows back," he said. "Crappy hair. This is limited and inconvenient, being a vessel. I'm uncomfortable in this half human body."
Professor Kano rushed into the room. "Kaneki! The One Eyed King at last!" he grinned manically. "I have been awaiting your arrival. For a long time. I transplanted the egg into you after the accident. Completely undivided, I thought you might not awaken."
Kaneki grabbed her head.
"He awakening now..." thought Kano.
Kaneki walked to the stone hall.
"You've just awakened," Kano said, "and you're already full of power. What power is this!?"
"I had a snack!" Kaneki grinned and licked his lips. "I finally devoured that annoying fried of h—mine. Hideyoshi Nagachika."
"You think he's dead? Ha! Hide has a strong, powerful spirit. He wouldn't lose his life to the likes of you."
"Who's that!? Is it someone inside of me trying to push out...? It's because of this flesh. It's giving me strength... With this body, there's nothing for me to fear anymore!"
"Hey, Kaneki!" Kano says. "That bitch is running amok again. Why don't you go…have another snack?"
Kaneki smirked. "With pleasure."
You aren't fooling anyone. You couldn't even eat Hide; you're no match for a real warrior like Kuri. I'll have my body back soon enough and you will be destroyed.
Kaneki groaned. "SHUT THE HELL UP!"

I'm going now, Hide." Kuri whispered. "To get Kaneki back! To the Academy!"
As she approached the center of the Delta, they see the building overgrown with trees and vines.
"The Academy has gotten like this overnight..."
"Am I choosing the wrong path...? If I do this, will we ever be able to be together? It's regrettable, but I must be prepared to put Kaneki to death. To death..."
"Heh heh... she's here." A door appears though the trees.
"An entrance opened!?" Kuri walked into the building.
The two identical women bowed. "Greetings. Welcome to the Infinite Labyrinth."
"One-Eyed Ghouls?"

Kuri looked around, suddenly in darkness. "Have I fallen into enemy hands!? That was careless. Where is this!? Kaneki...?"
Hide appeared before her, battered and bruised.
"Hide!" He began to rot before her eyes.
"It's your fault I'm coming apart," he said. "I won't fight anymore..." He jumped at her, covering her in blood.
Kaneki appeared behind him. "It's your fault, Kuri." He grabbed Kuri around the throat.
"Ow! You're... hurting me... Kaneki...!?"
"I'll help you too, Kaneki," said Hide, holding her down.
"I want to be free, Kuri!" said Kaneki. "I'll kill Hide and then You too!"
"KANEKI!"

Hide sat up in bed. "Kuri!? She's being bewitched! Kuri!"

"No! I can't be bewitched! You're hallucinations! Everyone!" Her Quinque began to glow. Light flashes around him, and she was alone. "Kaneki!?"
"I'll break through the barrier!" Kuri said and broke through with her Quinque.
"That light!" Thought Kano.
"You've undone my finest work," Kano said angrily. "You won't bother us anymore!" He attacked her. "I won't have you destroy my perfect specimen."
"You're a monster!" Kuri shouted and attacked. But Kano wasn't there.
"Whatever delusions fill this labyrinth," Kuri said, "I won't give up hope! I'm gonna search! For Kaneki!"
"She's's found her way to this fortress," thought Kaneki. "She even blew away Kano. Although...The time has come. The time for me to unleash my power." His eyes sparkle. Power flew into in his hands, into his body.
From far away, Hide's body began to glow.

"Ohh... Strength! From deep in my body, I'm filling with it! As soon as I took it in, my insides were overflowing! This is the power of my delicious meal!"
At that moment a pair of dark grey eyes opened deep within the soul of the monster.
The real Kaneki was waking up—and he wasn't going to allow Hide to die.
