The Lost hero
Chapter 1
Hello everyone who is reading that. That is my first try in writing, especially in English. So I hope I did enough to give you a pleasurable reading and give you a promise to improve myself in the next chapters. Wish you a nice day.
Space, the vast expanse of the universe, evokes a sense of awe and wonder unmatched by any other subject of human exploration. From the smallest subatomic particles to the grandest galaxies, the cosmos encompasses all of existence. It is a realm of infinite beauty and complexity, where stars ignite in celestial dances, planets spin in graceful arcs, and cosmic forces shape the very fabric of reality. In its depths lie mysteries yet to be solved and beckon mankind to explore and discover. Through the lens of science, philosophy, and imagination, we attempt to grasp the tangled tapestry of the cosmos, trying to unravel its mysteries and uncover the deep truths it holds.
There is also a mystery about does the life on the other planets exists or whether we are the only ones in space. Aliens are one of the things that interest people about the cosmos. How do they look and do they are friendly? are they alone or are there many other species? Maybe they live among us. Even possible that you had interacted with them, my dear reader.
"Can you stop that monologue, Gwen? It's sooo boring." - Said the boy in the black-striped, white shirt with short sleeves, green cargo pants, and black and white sneakers with black stripes. His name is Ben Tennyson was looking at the window with boredom.
"Sometimes it's useful to read philosophical writings. It is definitely better than watching pointlessly at the window, Doofus." - said Gwen, the redhead girl in an elbow-length blue raglan shirt with a cat logo, white capri pants, and white sneakers with dark blue stripes without socks. She was reading an article from her laptop.
"But why about space? We almost every week fight against alien bad guys. How some ~philosophical~ words can be useful, Geek face." - said irritated Ben, mocking pronouncing philosophical. Gwen of course was almost get angry.
"Ben, even so we are facing an alien criminals it doesn't mean that we have all knowledge about cosmos. Space is bigger than you can imagened and it's not bad to philosophize about that." - said the man with calm soft voice, while he was sitting on drivers seat. He wear a white shirt, covered by a red buttoned-up Hawaiian shirt with a floral design. He had grey hair and blue pants, as well as brown shoes. - "Also it's good for your self-development. World is full of secrets."
"And you Grandpa Max" - sighed Ben, while started to observe his watch. Grandpa and Gwen spoke about something but Ben was not bothered. He was focused on his alien watch, the omnitrix.
The Omnitrix, an alien watch that can grant his wielder the ability to shapeshift into various alien forms. Alien with fire power? Pick Heatblast, and you would be the hottest person around. Do you want an alien with immense physical strength? Four Arms is your choice, plus you get an additional pair of hands. The watches themselves were like a large wristwatch with a wide band, primarily black and grey in color. It had a dark grey faceplate in the middle (like a watch dial) that had a green hourglass shape. This watch made Ben's greatest dream into a reality, be the Hero. In just his tenth, he already faced alien conquerors, bounty hunters, mad scientists, zombie clowns, etc. He faced the danger and conquered the danger.
But right now, Ben was focused on faceplates that were showing him icons of aliens that he can turn. He wanted to see new aliens besides his regular list, which is: Heatblast, Wildmutt, Diamondhead, Xlr8, Upgrade, Ditto, Grey Matter, Ripjaws, Stinkfly, Ghostfreak, Snare-oh, Upchuck, Eye Guy, Wildvine, Cannonbolt, Way big. List is long but originally he had only 10 so maybe there are a new ones in future.
But what my next could be? Maybe my next be a big dinosaur alien. Yeah, that would be cool. Or a cat-like alien wrestler? Also cool.
Ben is fully inside his thoughts and daydreaming. Aliens, hero adventures... smoothy?
"BEN! Are you listening?" - cried angrily Gwen before snapping on Ben's forehead from his thoughts.
"Auch, Gwen! What's wrong with you?" - said Ben also being angry.
"You again were daydreaming. You are beginning to be obsessed with this watch and hero stuff." - annoyingly Gwen said to Ben. "Grandpa, say something."
Grandpa sigh. The road is long and hot and there are grandchildren.
"Ben, maybe Gwen is right. You probably should not focus on your watch so much." - Grandpa Max is narrowing his eyes because of the sun. "You must value your time with your family and close people. As the plumber, I learned that in a hard way."
"But your life was full of cool adventures and you were a hero. Why I should not to do the same." - Arrogantly speak Ben to Grandpa. Gwen sighed after hearing that.
Max also sighed sadly. He was quite sad hearing what Ben was thinking.
"You will understand that eventually." - said Max. He was also tired of the sunny road which with each hour became hotter. "Hope the gas station is nearby."
And suddenly a bright purple light appeared in front of the RV and destroyed the right wheel which caused the car to overturn. Everybody inside the RV lost their consciousness.
"Ben?! Wake up, Ben!"
Ben was waking up slowly. He found his hands tied up with chains in some warehouse. On the right side of him were Gwen and Grandpa Max. Grandpa was conscious, unlike Gwen.
"Are you okay Ben?" - Ben heard the worrying voice of his Grandpa.
"Yeah, I think so." - answered Ben. He looked at Gwen. "Is she okay? And where are we?"
"She is breathing right now." - Max was observing a place. "It looks like an old factory. Oh, no!"
Max was looking scared at Ben's side. There was standing some monument. It looked like a large green tablet with many inscriptions circling around it. Ben was looking at the tablet. He had strange feelings looking at that.
"What is that?" - with curiosity asked Ben.
"It's..." - Grandpa wanted to answer
"The Hands of Armageddon." - answered Ben's question a mysterious figure that was walking from the shadows. "The ancient artifact that can open a gate through time and space. Was created by Chronians to conquer worlds. And hello, Ben. Hows life?"
Ben was filled with chills looking at the figure. It was wearing a black bodysuit with a matching trench coat over it, black gauntlets with purple highlights on them, and a black helmet with a purple-tinted visor. He was speaking to Ben like they knew each other but Ben would never forget.
"Have we met each other in the past? Because I would never forget a creep like you." - spoke Ben with a smirk.
"Good to know that you are full of energy. But no, we didn't meet until now. I mean particularly you current Ben." - A figure came closer to the boy. "You too young right now to comprehend timeline complexity."
Right now, the figure stood right in front of him. Ben got strange feelings from him. Like he feels that person is connected to him.
"What are planning to do with the hands of armageddon, Eon?" - Asked Grandpa Max.
"The casual thing you know, Maxwell Tennyson, like let my people get here. And then conquer this world with no exception." - Eon answered Max's question without looking at him. His look was focused on Ben. "Unfortunately, this body will not survive opening, sooo..."
Eon put his hands on Ben's watch. The watch starts to emit green with purple lightning. Ben was howling with pain.
"I need a hero with an alien watch to give me a new one. More fresh and stronger." - Spoke Eon trying to break the failsafe of Omnitrix. "Actually it is not my first try, so Im trying to make it fast. I will not face a new failure."
"BEEN!" - Grandpa Max broke from the chains and launched his punch at Eon. He continues to punch the villains in the head and torso. Eon started to fight back, launching his punches towards the old plumber. They moved far from Ben and Gwen to the side of the hands of Armageddon.
At the moment as Eon's hand left Ben's watch, the lightning from the Omnitrix broke the chains. After freeing his hand, Ben activated his watch and turned on the dial. He chose the icon with bulky and spiky figure.
"It's Hero Time!" - said Ben, while pressing the button on the watch.
Right after the bright green light occupied Ben's whole body. His skin starts to be covered with a diamond-like structure. His arms become bigger and two small spikes on his back grow. His clothes changed into a sleeveless uniform that was black on the right half and white on the left with a black patch on the left shoulder where the Omnitrix symbol is. His eyes changed from green to yellow. The name of this alien form is Diamondhead.
"Let's rock!" - said Diamondhead smashing his fists at each other.
Diamondhead ran into Eon to punch him. Eon at that moment was evading Max's punch and when evaded the plumber's last punch, the villain caught Max's hand and threw him into Ben. Ben caught Grandpa and was ready to put him gently on the ground but he immediately hid Max behind his back and took a shoot of purple energy from Eon. Diamondhead felt a shot.
"What is that?" - said Ben confusingly.
"Time beams, I forget that Petrosapiens aren't easy to kill by aging. This kind better destroy than send into the pension." - annoyingly Eon answered Ben's question. His hands starts glowing purple and he ran into diamond creature.
"Take care of Gwen. He is mine" - said Ben, and immediately ran to face Eon. At that moment, Grandpa Max ran to help Gwen, who still was unconscious.
Diamondhead made a punch to Eon's head but he evaded that and punched Ben into the gut. Ben felt a crack in his stomach. He made a blade in his right hand and then attacked. Eon was forced to block a slash with his hand but he was not fast enough to create a shield to protect himself. The blade damaged his hand and Eon cried out pain.
"How dare you?! Annoying child!" - cried Eon aggressively. In his rage he shot a time beam at Diamondhead. But Diamondhead's skin this time reflected beam into the Hands of Armageddon.
A moment of silence. Eon with Ben were frozen in front of the tablet. Ben didn't know what to expect from a piece of rock. Eon was scared because he didn't want to trigger the hands too soon.
"BEN! Be careful." - Max tried to give Ben some advice. "We didn't know what can happen"
"Don't worry Grandpa. I can take care of it. While I'm here everything under-" - Ben couldn't finish himself because of explosion from the tablet.
The explosion from the Hands of Armageddon opened a hole that was sucking everything inside itself. Gwen at that moment woke up and with Grandpa Max they caught a tube with their all might. Eon with Ben is the closest ones to the hole. Ben used his crystal construct to stick to the ground. Eon was holding to the chains but his grip was weak.
"Damn you Tennyson. I swear, I will make you payyyyy-" - Eon lost his grip and was sucked inside the hole.
Then Gwen with Max were loosing their grip to hold.
"We need to get out here. We didn't know how long we could hooo- " - Gwen lost her grip and was falling to the hole but Grandpa caught her fast.
"I'm holding yooo-" - Max lost his grip too and was ready to be sucked to the hole with Gwen.
"NOOOOO!" - Cried Ben making a diamond wall behind him to stop his relatives from falling.
It worked but at the exact moment, Diamondhead lost control over the ground and fell into the hole. And the hole was closed after Ben, leaving nothing in his place. No sights of Ben or Eon or even the Hands of Armageddon.
Gwen with Max gets out of the wall to investigate. They found nothing that could help them to find Ben. Max despairingly was looking for Ben.
"BEN! WHERE ARE YOU!" - Max was crying while was looking for his grandson.
And Gwen was just standing in despair. She maybe was strict to Ben but she loved him like his cousin. She was not expecting that he would just disappear. Just right in front of them. She ran towards Grandpa and hugged him tightly.
"Will we find him, Grandpa?" - Gwen sobbed before his eyes. She couldn't find the strength to hold herself together.
Max also couldn't hold his sadness and hugged Gwen tightly. He was scared to lose her too.
"Of course Gwen, we will find him."
