May stifled a laugh — Brianna could think of the most randomest jokes that always managed to catch her off guard. 'What do you call a fake noodle?' Brianna asked, playfully balancing her bottle of water on the table. 'Uhm.. I don't know,' May laughed back.
'An impasta!' Brianna answered, as May immediately broke into a laugh. 'Those are good! How do you know so much jokes?' May snickered, trying to stop giggling. 'I guess my dad taught me a lot when I was younger,' Brianna giggled back.
May couldn't help but notice that Brianna appeared a lot happier than normal. Which wasn't necessarily weird, because a few days before Drew had joined them during lunch after the awkward lunch incidents. She could feel her cheeks reddening at the thought of the way Drew held her in front of those bullies.
May snapped out of reality by Brianna's squeal. 'Oh my god, that's Drew! I gotta go talk to him, May! Gotta go, talk to you later!' Brianna yowled, stuffing her lunchbox back into her bag. She threw her backpack over her shoulder and before May could say bye, she had already ran off. May chuckled at her excitement. Talking about loving somebody.
With a happy feeling bubbling up in her stomach she tossed her backpack over her shoulder and strutted toward the staircase to head to the next class she was going to have.
DREW'S POV
taking a stroll through the cafeteria, Drew could feel all eyes falling on him. And before he knew it a group of girls had circled around him. Originally he wanted to join May, but that weren't possible with all the girls that were now swooning over him.
Slightly annoyed by the ongoing situation, he clenched his fist. Except his anger faded away when Brianna walked his way. Drew personally liked none of his fangirls, but Brianna was calm and respectful. She was always the very person to stay at the end of the crowd, just admiring him for being him.
Brianna shyly waved and Drew gave a friendly nod back at her, causing for her to immediately go red in the head. But Brianna was suddenly the last thing on his mind when, behind her, he could see May heading over to the staircase in the distance. An exciting feeling rose in his stomach — why was May making him so excited? Why did he feel so happy?
Shaking his head, he shook the feelings off, his attention now back at the girls swarmed around him. As if completely restored he happily chimed in on the girls chatting.
MAY MAPLES POV
May realized she'd forgotten her books for her next class— so she had to run all the way down to grab them. In a rush the ran down the stairs, and then over to her locker. Sweat ran her forehead as she let her books slide in her backpack. Dragging such a heavy backpack around sure was a pain, that was something she obviously couldn't deny.
She didn't have much time left before class started, so she had to hurry. Settling the backpack on her back she turned around and walked up the stairs, feeling a little uneasy by the amount of students passing her by on the staircase.
In a hurry, she ran through the halls trying to make it to class. But unfortunately, she didn't look where she was going and bumped attains into someone. May flew back, landing on the ground with a groan as her heart could be felt beating rapidly. 'Watch where you're going, you..' A voice could be heard from above her. 'Aah- Ooh!'
May rubbed her head in pain and looked up — her eyes met cyan eyes. Her sight sharpened as she could see an odd dressed, purple haired boy standing in front of her. He had made a surprised motion by sticking his hand up to his chest. 'I mean, heh.. sorry about that sweetie,' The male croaked, lending May his hand.
Slightly confused May grabbed his hand and pulled herself up. 'Thanks.. I.. didn't see where I was going,' May stuttered nervously. 'That can happen,' The boy answered dryly. 'Aren't you May, hm?' The purple haired student asked, curiously towering above May. 'Yes.. how'd you know?' May mumbled.
'You were in the news school papers. Or was that someone else?' He continued. 'No, I.. that was indeed me,' May smiled back, as the boy nodded. 'Aah, riiiight. Anyhow, I'm Harley. Nice to meet ya, honey!' Harley giggled, sticking his hand out. 'Nice to meet you too?' May mumbled back, awkwardly shaking his hand. 'Well, Harley, I've got to head on over to class, see y—'
'So how long have you been in this school, hm?' Harley asked curiously, but it seemed as if he was getting more irritated by the second. 'Only for a few weeks now, really.. I moved here. I—' 'Ooh! That's why I never seen you around,' Harley giggled. 'Well, this schools pretty awesome, don't you agree? Especially the school news.. so much drama, so interesting...' he added.
DREW HAYDENS POV
Drew impatiently flicked his pen against the table. Normally May was always in class before all the students were, and now May wasn't. But he saw May heading upstairs— where had she gone?
A feeling of suspicion filled his stomach as he glared around the classroom. There were only a few minutes before class started. If may were to be too late, she'd have detention. But maybe she just went to the toilet or something. Why was he so invested about her?
Drew rose up from his chair and quickly walked over to the teachers desk. 'Teach, I need to go to the bathroom,' Drew exclaimed awkwardly, as the teacher looked up at him and nodded. 'Okay. Make sure to be quick, class is starting soon,' He added, as Drew gave a simple nod and sped out of the classroom. Where was she?
He calmly walked through the halls and came to a stop when he heard two familiar voices.
So how long have you been in this school, hm?'
'Only for a few weeks now, really.. I moved here. I—'
'Ooh! That's why I never seen you around. Well, this schools pretty awesome, don't you agree? Especially the school news.. so much drama, so interesting...'
'That's true I guess! Id rather not have come on the news paper myself..'
he could recognize those voice out of thousands. May.
And he couldn't be mistaken about the other voice, either, as he immediately knew who it was. Eavesdropping, he had heard bit of their conversation. He had to step in— If he wouldn't, he would manage to get her late for class. He slid his hands into his pockets and walked over to the two chatting students.
'May,' Drew called out. May immediately looked surprise to see him. 'Oh! Drew, Hi!' May smiled, giving him a friendly wave. Harley turned around too and immediately shot him a sour glare; but he kept quiet, not saying a word. 'You're almost late for class.. c'mon,' Drew suggested, walking over to May and grabbing her hand.
'I can walk myself, you dummy.' May croaked, trying to free herself from his grip. 'Oh, really? Says the one that almost fell off of the stairs a few days earlier,' Drew snickered, shrugging. 'You're mean! I'm gonna head to class,' May growled in irritation, storming to the classroom. Once May had disappeared out of sight he turned his head.
He gave Harley a sort of death stare, though it didn't happen to intimidate him. He bitterly glared back at him. Drew's frown cracked into a grin, as if telling him 'Good try, douchebag.' He arrogantly flicked his hair and walked back to the classroom.
HARLEYS POV
Harley's eyes narrowed. Why did Drew always come into the way of everything? Harley really couldn't understand why he was so popular— why he was so loved. The only thing he ever did was being chased around.
Clenching his fists he let out an irritated growl. He was so close to making her late for class, but naturally, because of him, he'd failed.
With a huff he head on over to his own class. Maybe this time he had lost, but next time he'd win, and May wouldn't have the luck of being helped out by him.
sorry for the short chapter, next one will be longer.
