Chapter 9

authors note : Stay tuned. Thank you my readers.

"I know something about mothers and wanting them around especially when they don't want to be."

"Maybe Sawyer and aunt Brooke could have some bonding time.?" Brooke asked.

"You need to clear you're head and figure out what this means for you. Yes you're hurt and angry but you still love her. I was there on you're wedding day."

"What you and Peyton share is special." Brooke said.

"It was. But sometimes you have to let go and move forward."

"Even though if i had it my way none of this would be happening."

"Sawyer needs routine. Stability. A parent she can depend on."

"If that's not what Peyton wants or is capable of i won't fight her on it."

"You're mending a broken heart of you're own." Lucas proclaimed.

Brooke sighed deeply.

"Phone calls. Cancelling where we would get married. Bringing back my wedding dress."

"It hurts. Stings. But Julian and I weren't a perfect match."

"We had our issues. I've mended a broken heart before."

"This time around no teen hormones so that makes it easier."

"Did you ever imagine this is how our lives would turn out?" Brooke asked.

"Would you do any of it differently?" Brooke added in.

Lucas thought it over and looked to her. "I would appreciate the people i took for granted and the love i had. The support. Wouldn't of been pushed away."

"Being young. Dumb. And prideful can be alot." Lucas replied.

"I'll get out of you're way. I know you're going to bring Sawyer back here. Welcome back Luke. You were missed." Brooke said.

Lucas hugged her goodbye.

"Thank you." Lucas whispered.

...

Awhile Later

Lucas let go of Sawyer's hand. Once they entered the entryway.

"This is our new home." Lucas announced.

"No! I don't like. I want to go back to ma ma!" Sawyer exclaimed.

...

What about love mom. Isn't that the key?" Brooke asked.

"You have far too much to lose for boys with rings." Victoria proclaimed.

"Lucas Scott is the one boy i would of lost it for." Brooke admits.

Victoria rolled her eyes.

Brooke couldn't help but wonder what would of happened if she hadn't of given her blessing to Lucas to go to Peyton. Letting him go.

Brooke realized this was foolish and maybe naive.

Time couldn't be reversed. A marriage. A child. She had moved on.

Even though it backfired.

She was aunt Brooke and Lucas's friend. She needed it to stay that way. They were too important to her to risk anything else.
