Chapter 3
Michael and KITT arrived, parking near an alley when KITT's Circuitry started going haywire.
"KITT" Michael asked "What is wrong with you?"
KITT replied "I don't know Michael Bonnie told me that everything was fine, but my CPU circuitry is going haywire. "
Meanwhile pulling up behind them was Dean and Sam. Dean reached for the shotgun before getting out and pointing it at KITT.
Dean, aiming his shotgun at the unsuspecting KITT.
"Out of the car, dude!" he demanded.
Michael obliged but KITT spoke up.
"I pose no threat." he said earnestly.
Dean was taken aback. He'd seen quite a few things, but a harmless sentient car was new.
Dean looked at Sam and asked, "Sam do you think Gabriel has something to do with this becoming the Trickster again?"
Sam shook his shoulders as he didn't know.
Dean called out the Trickster, but he never appeared.
A few moments later Castiel appeared.
Dean looked at Castiel and said, "Cas why are you here?"
Castiel answered, "This not the doing of my brother Gabriel, he is back at home that is actually a driverless car, but his circuitry is going haywire because of some supernatural entity."
Sam, however, sensed a window of opportunity, an ally perhaps, to deal with whatever supernatural event was looming ahead.
As they all talked and shared information, they collectively deduced a supernatural entity was in town, affecting electronic devices.
Sam asked, "Michael has this ever happened before with your cars Circuitry Going haywire?"
Dean looked at Sam before Michael answered and said, "This supernatural entity sounds a lot like a Deities."
Michael answered "No"
"What is a Deity?" he asked.
"Deities are pagan gods Dean and I have taken on at least 30 of them but I don't think we have dealt with on like this." Sam answered
"Why is he happening to my car through." Michael asked
Around that Sam's phone rang it was Castiel.
"Hey Cas what is up?" Sam asked answering the phone
"This is not no ordinary Deity you are dealing with this one is known as Volta."
"Who or what is Volta?" Michael asked.
"Volta is an old pagan god hungry for modern worship and revitalized by the rise of technology." Sam answered.
"So It was this entity that was raising KITT's defenses?" Michael asked.
"Yes" said Dean.
"Well how do we defeat it?" Michael asked.
"We are going to have to team up to defeat this one." Dean said
Sam looked at Dean and asked "How do you expect us to do that?"
"Sam remember when we took on the pagan god Zalmoxis?" Dean answered
"Yes" Sam replied.
"Remember we had to distract him and I was almost killed Sam?" Dean asked.
"Yes but how does Michael and KITT be involved with this?" said Sam.
Well since Michael's car is technology we can use them to distract Volta so we can get set up to defeat the Deity." Said Dean
Michael, Sam, and KITT all agreed. With this knowledge, Sam and Dean teamed up with Michael and KITT.
Towing KITT's superior technological features and the Winchesters' experience dealing with ancient gods, they formulated a plan. A showdown was inevitable.
Michael asked "KITT are you ready?"
"Yes Michael I am" said KITT.
At the old town's electric station Sam and Dean were setting up a purification ritual.
"Sam and Dean we are ready." Michael said then asked "Are you two ready?"
Sam looked at Dean and asked, "Are you sure this will work?"
"It will work Sam It has to work; this is the only way to get rid of this pagan god." Said Dean.
"Michael, we are ready." Sam answered
"Alright KITT let's do this," Michael said
As they started to move towards Volta to have it chase them.
KITT said "Michael my Circuitry is going haywire again."
"I noticed and that means it is chasing us give me everything you got in pursuit mode." Michael Said.
"Sam, Dean here we come at high-speed Volta is right behind us" Michael said.
In a high-speed chase through the town, KITT, maneuvered by Michael, distracted Volta while the Winchesters with their colt, completed a purification ritual in the old town's electric station.
"Now." Michael said.
Sam and Dean started the ritual for purification.
Finally, with a high-pitched scream that left a ringing silence behind, the dark cloud – Volta – dissipated, leaving KITT back to normal and the town safe once again.
"KITT are you ok?" Michael asked
No answer from KITT
Michael asked again "KITT are you ok?"
Few minutes passed and still nothing.
Michael asked a third time yelling "KITT ARE YOU OK?"
KITT answered "You don't have to yell I am a 100% okay."
Michael went back to where Sam and Dean were at.
"Well, you two were right that it would chase us." Michael said.
"Well me and KITT have to be going it has been a pleasure working with you two you both have earned our friendship and respect." Michael said
"Same here Michael." Sam said.
They all shook hands as they parted, Michael and KITT found newfound respect for the lore hunters, the Winchesters. Sam and Dean, in turn, gained unusual friends in the Knight duo.
"And don't shoot any other talking car you come across, Dean." Sam called, waving a farewell to KITT and Michael Knight disappearing on the horizon.
