A/N: This is part 2 of the previous chapter.
Harry Potter was returning to Number Four Privet Drive for a one time visit with Aunt Petunia.
After making the decision to name his daughter Lily Petunia Potter, Harry sent an owl to Petunia asking for a one on one meeting the next day and Petunia had invited Harry to come to Privet Drive while Vernon was at work.
Harry rang the doorbell and awaited the answer.
"Hi, Harry," said Petunia politely as she opened the door and let Harry in.
"Hello, Aunt Petunia," returned Harry graciously, "I have news, but this news will also require us to have a bit of a talk."
"Then let's go sit on the living room sofa and be comfortable.
So, Harry and Petunia walked together to the living room and sat down side by side on the sofa.
"So, " explained Harry, "My third child and first daughter is due in about a fortnight."
"Have you selected a name for her yet?" inquired Petunia.
"That's exactly the news I've come to deliver, but we need to talk first," confirmed Harry.
"Fire away, Harry," piped up Petunia encouragingly.
"Something you said to me on the night I left here has stuck with me. I vividly remember you saying that, "You didn't just lose a mother that night in Godric's Hollow, I lost a sister," said Harry softly.
"That is actually why I never treated you particularly well while you were growing up here. I hated your magic because I felt as though the Wizarding World had stolen my sister from, first figuratively, and then literally. "
"I have long suspected that you felt that way," said Harry in a crystal clear voice, "I know that the greatest regret of your life is that your sister died with the two of your estranged."
"Exactly," nodded Petunia instantly, "Lily and I had a great relationship before Lily off to Hogwarts. Both Lily and I bear equal responsibility for the falling out. But, if I may be candid, the deepest and most desperate desire of my heart is to meet my sister again and make amends with her. If she hadn't died so young, that probably would have happened. I legitimately believe we would have forgiven each other as we matured into adulthood if Lily had lived."
"Aunt Petunia," said Harry looking her eye to eye, "I have forgiven you for how you treated me when I grew up were. Your feelings are completely understandable, and you had valid reasons to not desire my presence here. You are a realistically flawed person who has made honest human mistakes, but you are not a fundamentally bad person. Now, here's the big news. I am naming my daughter Lily after the mom who sacrificed her for me and saved the entire Potter line into the bargain."
"That's not news," said Petunia seriously, "The only potential news comes from the middle name."
"You just hit the reason I'm here," said Harry sincerely, "I shall bestow upon my upcoming daughter the middle name of Petunia. She shall be called Lily Petunia Potter."
Aunt Petunia felt a swell of emotions wash over her upon hearing that news. She felt tears coming down her cheeks that were one third joy, one third terrible sadness, and one third pure emotion.
"Oh, Harry," said petunia heavily, hugging him tightly.
"Aunt Petunia," said Harry matter of factly, "I saw this as an opportunity to bring Lily and Petunia back together again, even if only in a name."
"I-I am v-very touched b-by this tribute Harry," acknowledged Petunia in a choky type of voice, "It's a representation of how important Lily and I were to each other, even if we both too immature to realize it."
"I haven't told anyone else, " promised Harry, "I wanted you to be the first to know. You are, for obvious reasons, the person who has the keenest interest in the decision I have made to name my daughter Lily Petunia Potter."
"I appreciate that," spoke Petunia in a low voice, "I hope to meet little Lily Petunia and hold her."
"I will give you that opportunity," promised Harry, "As she grows up, I hope that Lily Petunia Potter comes to understand and appreciate why I have named her the way I have and who and what I am paying tribute to."
"That Lily died with us estranged is my worst regret in life," admitted Petunia, "We'll never know what would have happened, but the fact Lily died so young is just so tragic. Even more so for you as there is no worse tragedy than a child losing a parent."
"It's worth noting," said Harry matter of factly, "That despite having taken me in unwillingly and bitterly, you still took me. Dumbledore told me that you know that taking me in may have saved my life."
"I had just enough sisterly affection left for Lily to take her son in to protect from the possibility of death," said Petunia quietly, "But too much bitterness to be able to treat her son well."
"It's totally understandable, " said Harry briskly, "You have feelings too. You're not a bad person. You're a realistically flawed person who made understandable human mistakes. Not unlike Lily herself."
"I'm grateful for your understanding and forgiveness," declared Petunia, "And I'm more grateful for the fact that you are going to bring Lily and Petunia in one the few meaningful ways possible."
"That's not the only I'm going to bring them back together," Harry informed Petunia, "I have a gift for you."
Next nanosecond, Harry retrieved his wand from his right hand pocket with his right hand and pointed it straight ahead.
"Flowericus!" cried Harry.
And two bouquets of flowers emerged from the tip of Harry's wand.
One was a set of red Petunia flowers, and the other was a set of red Lily flowers.
"Aunt Petunia," said Harry genuinely, "These flowers are a gift from me to you. You can set them downside by side in whatever vase you have available."
Harry handed Petunia the flowers and she was left speechless.
"And before long," finished Harry, "Lily and Petunia will be together again yet again in the name of my daughter to be, Lily Petunia Potter."
