Chapter 11 Finding the Truth
Lumine's POV

Paimon and I were eating at Good Hunter.

"This is so good", she praised. "Paimon missed the taste of Mondstadt food!"

Before I could say anything to this, Childe suddenly arrived at the restaurant.

He then sat at a nearby table with his back to me.

After checking to see if anybody was watching us, Paimon leaned in closer to him.

"How'd it go, Childe", she asked.

"The acting grand master insisted that any knowledge that the knights have on the Black Fire Incident is same as the Fatui's", Childe revealed. "However, when you've been a Harbinger for some time, you get pretty good at telling if people know more than they're letting on."

"So, you think the knights know something that the Fatui don't", Paimon asked.

"Yes", Childe replied. "And that's where you come in, comrade. You need to find out what they're hiding."

"But how do we do that", Paimon asked.

"You're an honorary knight", Childe pointed out. "So you should be able to get the information out of them no problem."

When Childe said this…I suddenly became a bit upset.

"What's wrong, traveller", Paimon asked in concern.

"I…", I started. "I don't like deceiving the Knights of Favonius like this. After all, they were the first people to help me out when I started my journey."

"Y…yeah", Paimon agreed sadly. "Paimon doesn't feel right about this either."

"But…", I started. "I have to do this, so that I can get information about my brother from the Jester!"

After I said this, I was silent for a moment.

Then, Childe spoke up.

"Hey, girlie", he started. "Could you tell me more about the Windblume festival?"

With this, I explained the history of the Windblume festival to Childe.

"I see", he said, before he began thinking. "Say, girlie, Is there anything you'd like to receive as a Windblume gift?"

"Something I'd like to receive as a Windblume gift", I repeated. "No, nothing particular. Why do you ask?"

"Just curious, that's all", Childe replied. "Anyway, you should get to work, Comrade."

"Right", Paimon said, before looking at me. "Come on, traveler! Let's head to the Knights of Favonius' headquarters!

We arrived at the Knights of Favonius' headquarters, where we met up with a familiar face.

"Ah", she started when she saw us. "There you are, Traveler and Paimon!"

"Hiya, Amber", Paimon greeted. "How'd everything go with Childe?"

"Master Jean spoke with him, and informed him that the Knights of Favonius know just as much about the Black Fire Incident as the Fatui do."

"Speaking of the Black Fire Incident", Paimon started. "Can you please explain to Paimon what happened?"

With that, Amber explained the incident to us.

"So, the culprit got away before the Fatui could find out who it was", Paimon asked.

"Yep", Amber replied.

"And, you don't know who it was either", Paimon asked.

"That's right", Amber replied.

However, she seemed kind of nervous when she did.

"Amber", I started. "Is there something you're not telling us?"

"Huh", Amber said, before becoming even more nervous. "Why…why do you say that?"

"Because you're getting very nervous all of a sudden."

After saying this, Amber looked at me nervously for a moment, before sighing in defeat.

"Fine. You got me", she admitted. "There is more to this story. And, since you're an honorary knight, I guess I can tell you."
