Olivia is rummaging in her desk drawers, trying to find her stapler, which she now wonders if she'd lent to Edgar. She casts her eyes over to him who is using her desk to work as his office is being cleaned. She is just about to ask the man herself where it is, when her eye catches something tucked under some papers in the open top drawer. She pulls it from its hiding place and then groans despondently."Oh bugger, how could I have forgotten?" The sudden frustrated outburst rouses Edgar from his own paperwork."Everything ok?" He studies the brunette's micro expressions, as he notices the tell-tale worry lines now creasing Olivia's face. "Olivia?""Huh?" Olivia sets the offending item on her desk and responds distractedly."Are you alright? You seemed to go a bit pale over whatever that is." Edgar points to the mystery piece of card."It's not... nothing important... I..." Olivia starts to say more, but then waves away his concern."C'mon, I know I'm rubbish at reading people, but even I can see you're all out of sorts since you found that in your drawer. What is it?" Edgar looks at Olivia the way she always does, all soft and caring, and for reasons she can't quite explain, Olivia feels like she's something precious. No one has ever made her feel quite so cared for as Edgar does."It's a wedding invitation. Frankly, I forgot all about it. I was supposed to be taking someone, but. It's an old friend of mine. Alexandra Cabot she used to be our ADA. I promised her that I'd go, but I don't really want to go by myself especiallyas I know Elliot will be there trying it on no date. "Don't go by yourself then." Edgar thinks it's obvious."What do you mean?" Olivia can't quite follow the his train of thought." Olivia waits for him to look at her. "You know what I was talking about before? The wedding invite.""Yeah." Edgar nods slowly."I was wondering if you might want to come with me." Olivia glances over at him through her eyelashes. "Would you join me? Please. I doubt it will stop Elliot from making spinster jokes, but at least I'll enjoy myself if you're there and we can rub his nose in it that i'm your partner not his." Olivia's smile instantly melts away any words of refusal on Edgar's part."Ok. Olivia asserts with a grin. "Oh, one more thing." She stops Edgar in his tracks, as he was just about to exit the office. "The wedding is in Vegas. On the 28th of next month. I've booked a room at the hotel for the whole weekend, it is a suit. Olivia and Edgar sit huddled together as usual on one of the sofas in Fornolies ."S'alright." Edgar smiles and takes another sip of his whiskey."Could be fun. "We'll have some time to ourselves too."
"I am glad you are coming with me." Olivia's voice is quiet but certain."I can't wait." Edgar reassures her. "What's say we head home after this one? It was a long shift and we could both do with a good night's sleep.""Yeah, I think you're right." Olivia glances at her out of the corner of her eye."I'll order us a cab, eh?" Edgar kindly offers. In no time at all they have pulled up to Olivia's apartment building and are saying goodnight."I'll see you tomorrow." Edgar smiles at the brunette in the seat beside her."Goodnight, Edgar." Olivia and Edgar share kisses, before Olivia slips out of the car and waves him off.
