Leonard Mckay had never lost a man before today. He had led with a no man left behind attitude. And it was true. He had never left a man behind... Never lost a brother... He was staring at the first. His brother in arms had been scooped up by an alien that had somehow gotten behind them during the fighting. The beast flung him around like a ragdoll, slamming him through crumbling walls and into the ground. It had brought the barely alive man up to meet its eyes. Then with what sounded like scoff, it speared a piece of rebar through his face, exploding out the back of his skull, then tossed him aside with a grunt of satisfaction. Leonard had been staring for about five seconds, the moment the rebar entering his friend's brain seemed to play a thousand times over. With his Dynamo Blade in one hand and his Force Ax in the other, Leonard let out a battle cry, sounding like a mix between a grizzly bear and a charging rhino. He used his thrusters in his powered exo-armor to shoot into the sky towards the alien that killed his friend, raising his sword. He brought the blade down at the base of the alien's neck, cutting downwards and getting stuck in its chest. It reared back and roared, still alive. Leonard used the ax in his other hand, bringing it down on its other shoulder. With each swing Leonard fired the stored energy that resided in the ax, disintegrating flesh as the blade cut deeper and deeper into the aliens chest. With a final swing of his ax, he felt it connect with his sword, still lodged deep in its body. Leonard dropped to the ground. The alien took two steps. Then, its head and half of its torso sloshed to the floor, its legs and remaining torso falling soon after.

He had no time to celebrate the avenging of his friend and brother. He looked upwards at the sound of flapping wings. Tadpoles. Putting his massive weapons on the magnetic sheathes on his back, Leonard hefted out two UT style gatling guns. As calmly as he could, he gave an order through the comms. "Storm Three form up. Switch to ranged." Jensen managed to make his way over to Leonard, boasting a Jackhammer in one hand and a Dexter Automatic Shotgun in the other. "I'm close range boss. I'll get the ones that make it through." Without another moment's hesitation, Leonard spun up his miniguns, and let loose a torrent of lead and death. Accuracy was not an option, he raked his weapons across the sky, felling at least fifteen of the beasts in a matter of seconds. Some of the tadpoles split off, forcing Leonard to fire in two separate directions. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a massive purple beast flank, and barrel towards him, jaws open, ready to snap him in two. Time seemed to slow as Leonard saw the faint green glow intensify in the throat of the beast. Green flames ready to melt metal and flesh alike. A giant metal fist slammed into the monster's throat, causing it to detonate in a brilliant ball of green flame. Time returned to normal as Leonard winced and glanced over to see Jensen, now armed with dual Jackhammers in a boxer's stance, slamming the creatures out of the sky, crushing flesh and bone alike. Expertly, he bobbed and weaved using his thrusters to dodge the incoming torrent of flames and teeth, striking when he found an opening. Leonard turned back, continuing to fire. He spotted his third man, Wilkins, across an intersection, wielding a spear and shield. "Dammit Wilkins I said switch to ranged" Leonard barked into the radio. "Guns are melted sir. This is all I got" came the reply. His shield was half melted, leaving parts exposed. A large shadow passed overhead, Leonard caught a glimpse of another massive purple beast streaking towards them. "Wilkins get that shield up now!" He was relieved to see him get it up in time. Any relief he felt was obliterated in seconds. The creature let loose a torrent of flame, the initial blast slamming into Wilkins' shield. The shield almost liquefied, slopping out of the man's melting hands, catching his top half on fire. Wilkins screamed for a second, his armor fusing to his skin. The monster slammed into him, its maw of teeth wide open. Wilkins was sheared clean in half, his hips and legs still upright where he stood. A couple of smaller creatures swooped and finished off what was left. Leonard couldn't believe the gruesome sight. He wanted to vomit. Instead he screamed and kept firing. Rounds punched through wings and bones, creatures fell from the sky in droves. This went on for what felt like hours. One of Jensen's Jackhammers was broken, tossed uselessly on the ground. The barrels of Leonard's miniguns glowed a bright orange, after a few more seconds, the weapons jammed. The barrels were too warped to fire. He dropped them and drew his ax and sword. This was it. He charged forward with Jensen by his side. He hacked and slashed his way through the hordes, his ax head soon breaking. Dropping the ax, He brought his sword up with two hands and parried one of the beasts reaching claws. Jensen was now holding Wilkins' spear in one hand, his other arm limp by his side. One of the smaller tadpoles swooped, grabbing Jensen in its mouth. "NO" Leonard roared. He turned to help his last remaining brother. Just as the monster started to fly away with the man in its grip, Jensen managed to fire his spear. The pointed tip shot out, exploding through the top of the tadpole's mouth, exiting the top of its head. Jensen and the beast fell to the ground from about fifteen feet. They smacked the ground with a thud, Leonard feared the worst. From behind the felled monster he saw the spear fling to the sky once more, skewering two monsters like a kebab. He was alive, and now they would die as a squad. Just as the hordes were about to descend upon them, Leonard heard what sounded like fighter jets approaching. No not fighter jets. Storm Four shot over them, racing towards the horde. All four Wing Divers spread out over a wide area and pulled out baseball sized devices, tossing them lightly towards the enemy. They hung in the air for a moment, the Wing Divers already flying away. The last Diver to leave gave Leonard a salute and streaked away. Immediately after she flew away, the devices burst in bright light. Hundreds upon hundreds of tiny balls of energy shot from the devices, homing in on the tadpoles. The army was decimated in seconds. Leonard stared in disbelief. He had never seen anything like it. He quickly shook off his amazement. He surveyed the area for more enemies. Seeing none, he looked towards the flagship. Storm One was well at work with the massive ship, smoke now coming out of the bottom. "Okay Jensen we're going to move to cover Storm One." Leonard looked at the state of their equipment, and his only remaining friend. Knowing It wouldn't be much. "Yes sir" Jensen hoisted the spear. Leonard nodded with sincere gratitude. "Alright let's mo-" he was cut off by a rocket flying towards the ship. It struck with what seemed to be a tiny explosion. A chain reaction of explosions went off throughout the ship. He knew what was coming next. "New plan Jensen, we're getting the hell out from under this thing."
