Hello to all, this is REDO Chapter 3 that follows the events of Chapter 21-42 of Volume 2!

Intro: The Earth... is a great place where humanity and all other creatures live and learn to evolve little by little, but this great world has Darkness in it too. Evil beings who wish to conquer this world and everyone.

Only one being stood against them to show everyone the power of light and hope, but this great mythical dragon wasn't able to stop them. He gave his powers and hope to a human that was known by his name, the Dragon Knight!

Before this hero also met his end, he gave the legendary Dragon Sword and his hopes and dreams to the next knight, his youngest son who is destined to become a legend by the sides of his comrades and his love. This hero... is the Dragon Knight of Light!

Chapter 3: The World of Dueling!

There is a week away from Battle City V3 Finals as Yugi trains with Jenny, showing signs of improvement. After training, he finally completed his Deck for Battle City V3. Using everything he got from his experience and the cards he trusts the most; he's confident this deck will be the key to stopping the Dark Lord and saving Marik.

''And settling things with Kaiba, right?'' Jenny asks him, having been watching him making this Deck. Yugi smiles, nodding though the Deck will be settled between Kaiba and Atem.

''You know, he's crazy to be obsessed by the spirit of a dead legendary Pharaoh but I'll admit Kaiba has such a pride that I get where it's coming from for him.'' Jenny openly admits, finding that insane already but that's how she feels. ''In a way; it's this conflict he feels for the Pharaoh that he can't let go.''

''I know Nee-san but I know this will help Kaiba-kun to move on too.'' Yugi admits, certain their duel will end Kaiba's pursuit. Jenny agrees with him.

Ichigo then arrives, informing them that there's going to be a small tournament that some creator guy made since Battle City is going on and she joined in. She remade her deck but still isn't sure on her skills and fears she'll lose; asking if she could borrow Yugi's deck.

''Ichigo-kun, even if I lend you my deck without the God Cards; you would never win because it's not your Deck.'' Reminded of what happened to Mokuba in Duelist Kingdom, Yugi begins to explain to her yet encourages her. ''You remade your Deck and I believe what you have right now will lead you to victory! Believe in your cards and it won't fail you.''

Ichigo is silent, admitting her request was very childish. She smiles, vowing she'll win with her Deck that she made. Yugi does promise that he'll come and see her. Ichigo grins, hoping he would. Jenny watches the two, giggling at how cute of a couple they would make.

The next day arrives as Yugi kept his promise to watch Ichigo in this small tournament and the other Mew Mews are present to cheer their leader on, even Mint as she's curious if Ichigo will win. He is surprised this tournament is hosted in Otogi's shop as he explains he was approached by Pegasus as a way for those who couldn't enter Battle City.

''Makes sense!'' Yugi says with a smile. Even though he was once his enemy; Pegasus does love Duel Monsters and wants everyone to enjoy his card game too.

Ichigo reaches the finals of the tournament… and her opponent... eh…

''OH YUGI!'' Yugi instantly panics as Rebecca Hawkins rushes over and hugs the tricolor head happily, smiling happily to see him. ''Rebecca-kun?!'' He utters in surprised that she's in this tournament and not Battle City

Angry that her studies and another tournament occurring in America stopped her from accepting Kaiba's invitation to join Battle City early and just arrived too late; Rebecca was asked by Pegasus to join this tournament as he wanted at least 1 pro duelist to see how others match up. Of course, he still plans to give the runner-up something so it's not a complete loss.

Yugi sweat drops as this could be bad for Ichigo, especially how she's squeezing his arm with hers over her chest.

''STOP GROPING YUGI-KUN!'' Ichigo hisses with bright red cheeks, not sure why she's feeling… jealous, but she doesn't like it. Rebecca gives her a look and questions the strange girl. ''Do you mind? I know him before you met him.''

''YEA WELL HE SAW ME NAK-'' Ichigo begins shouting until she freezes up; realizing what she was about to say and covers her mouth. Yugi sweat drops nervously, glad Ichigo stopped herself. Rebecca is left paralyzed, hoping- HOPING she misunderstood what she was about to say.

''Eh um… DUEL ME NYA!'' Ichigo instead shouts, changing subject as she holds forward her deck.

Rebecca becomes serious, adjusting her glasses as she proclaims. ''Challenge accepted, rookie.''

Their duel commences as Rebecca easily disposes of Ichigo's Magician's Valkyria combo like it was child's play. She yawns, expecting more from a rookie than a simple lockdown deck. Ichigo, however, isn't bested yet as she now reveals her Cat/Kitty/Kitten part of her Deck, surprising the pro duelist. The duel became an even match though Rebecca is no pushover until Ichigo uses a powerful combo to bring out a new powerful monster, oddly resembling herself as Mew Ichigo to defeat Rebecca.

''N-No way…'' Rebecca utters out, not believing this just happened.

''I-I won…'' Ichigo begins to proclaim, looking at the end board score and slowly forms a smile as she leaps up, shouting excitedly. ''I WON NYA!''

The other Mew Mews cheer excitedly, even Mint, as does Yugi smiling, proud of her. Rebecca lets out a sigh, smiling as that means she needs to get better.

''You won, fair and square…'' Rebecca admits her loss but then raises her right index finger at Ichigo, vowing determinedly. ''But next time you won't win! I swear it!''

Ichigo smirks, accepting those terms as she'll beat her again. This was the start of a new rivalry.

With a winner decided; Pegasus reveals himself, surprised by the young maiden's duel.

''Fantastic! You did beautifully, young lady.'' Pegasus praises the winner as Ichigo looks nervously, blushing kindly at the strange older man. ''U-Um thank you!''

He rewards her with a new Deck he made; a set of monsters that came to him in a dream. These cards are the story of a dragon egg that grows and evolves through love. He dubs them the Love Dragons. Ichigo is silent as she accepts the Deck, not sure how to feel.

It was the following day that Ichigo started having a problem. Even though she won the tournament and feels a sense of pride; now she has an amazing new deck but she doesn't want to drop the deck she won in that tournament. It's like giving up something old she loves for something new.

Anzu, able to see her frustration, suggests combining them both, dropping the unnecessary cards and then testing the new composite deck with her since Yugi and Jonouchi are busy. Ichigo gladly accepts, happily to get her help. The two would duel, almost an even match up but Anzu can tell that Ichigo is really talented; already able to understand the game faster than she could ever. And that's when she asked her. ''Ichigo… do you… have any feelings for Yugi?''

This surprises the red cherry head, blushing as she only thinks of him as a friend. After all, she's loyal to Masaya because they're dating, because she loves him and she can't betray that- no; she's loyal to those closest to her. Her family, her friends, her duties, her boyfriend; to her this loyalty, this trust is absolute.

''Why?'' Anzu asks, respecting Ichigo but also curious about this strong loyalty. Ichigo looks up as she reaches to one of her pigtails, touching its ribbon and blushes warmly. ''… I met this boy once. I was miserable in my childhood and picked on and then he appeared. He made my life happier, gave me my first set of ribbons and how I first forged a strong trust and love too. It was the greatest Summer I ever had.''

She frowns upsetly, then admits. ''But then my parents were forced to move and I never got to see him again. I barely remember him or what he looked like but that strong attachment I had for him hasn't left and now I use it to show my unaltered loyalty for those I love.

Anzu is silent to learn that but smiles, explaining a lot about why she won't betray or leave Masaya; she is a faithful woman.

''I will say this; I do care a lot for Yugi-kun and I do have feelings for him but I can't and I'm happy we're just friends.'' Ichigo openly expresses, unable to ever turn her back to Masaya. It's not just that but also Masaya and her have known each other for a long time too and it would be wrong of her to ever betray him.

Anzu smiles, understanding her wishes as she also wishes Yugi can be happy too and Ichigo agrees.

The two would continue but it was no contest once Ichigo brought out her first Love Dragon as the silhouette of a large dragon was behind her. Anzu knew she lost and wished for Ichigo to go further as a duelist. Ichigo purrs, promising she'll try her best.

The day finally arrived. Yugi and Jonouchi were ready for the finals as well as Judai but Ichigo couldn't come. Her father complains that he doesn't want his little girl to be somewhere dangerous and cries about it as he donned his samurai armor. Yugi sweat drops, finding this very awkward but he speaks up that he believes in Ichigo and he'll be there for her.

''I'm not surprise.'' Shintaro admits to himself, seeing this kid just like Takao would respond. He smiles as he instead suggests. ''Then I will challenge you to a Funsen!''

''EH ME?!'' Yugi utters in shock, imagining screwing that up with Ichigo immediately protesting. ''Dad! You tried that on Masaya but-''

''Referring to a duel.'' Shintaro corrects himself, sweat dropping as he should have made that clear. Ichigo makes a face while Sakura giggles.

''OH!'' Ichigo utters as Yugi already understands that but asks. ''Really? You sure?''

''Of course, Duel King!'' Shintaro taunts the young man, not afraid of his status or skills. ''I will defeat you with all of my power!''

Yugi oddly cracks a smile, accepting the challenge.

The duel commences as it was a powerful showing between both duelists, using their signature monsters to fight the other that the duel had a clash between Dark Magician and White-Horned Dragon. In that clash, Yugi had a strange vision of the two monsters fighting before but wielded by two different people. Dark Magician was on his Grandpa's side but White-Horned belonged to…

The vision cuts off as Yugi snaps out, resuming the duel as Shintaro brings out his strongest Ancient Samurai but Yugi responds with his new trump card, combining Timaeus with a God. He fuses the Legendary Dragon with Osiris to become The Lord of the Saintly Dragons – Osiris. With the evolved God, Yugi won the duel.

Shintaro smiles at this thought as for a moment, he sees his best friend through Yugi. He accepts Yugi's terms as he also offers him his ace monster. Yugi looks at White-Horned Dragon card and refuses to accept it.

''It would be wrong of me to take the card that once belong to your friend.'' Shintaro proclaims, not wanting to say this was once his father's card as it would be weird.

Yugi looks at the card, feeling something about it but he can't just take it from him if it belongs to someone important.

''I don't-'' The tricolor head begins to protest until he checks the time and panics as he's going to be late. He quickly bows and apologies. ''Sorry, I gotta go!''

Shintaro tries to stop him but Yugi is already running off in a hurry. He sighs, looking at the card still in his hand. Ichigo can tell her dad got sad about this and offers him a suggestion. ''Oto-san, let me hold on the card and give it to Yugi-kun.''

He looks at his daughter and smiles proudly at the clever suggestion.

''Then I pass ownership of White-Horned to you, sweetie.'' He proclaims, handing over the card to her. Ichigo smiles, happily accepting it as she hugs him and then her mom before she runs off after Yugi.

Shintaro watches her leave, smiling before he erupts in tears, sobbing of joy and sadness.

''MY BABY GIRL GROWS UP SO FAST!'' He shouts out, slamming his hands on the wall hating this moment of a parent's life. Sakura sweat drops, comforting him.

Ichigo manages to catch up to Yugi but doesn't give him the card yet. Best way to give it to him is by placing it in his deck without him knowing- yea, that sounds bad but it'll be a card that will come in handy and it'll carry a bit of her hope to him too!

Commercial Break:

Yugi and Ichigo rushes in a hurry to Battle City V3 while Ichigo explains the real reason why her father was mad about her and it wasn't because of the tournament. She reveals that Masaya was offered a chance to study overseas in England and he could bring someone with him.

''… He picked you, didn't he?'' Yugi figures it out with Ichigo smiling. ''Yea! I mean I know nothing about England or speaking in English, at all, but I'm excited to go with him!'' She's nervous about the trip but she'll do her best to endure it for Masaya's sake.

''… Yea…'' Yugi slowly replies, not at all happy about it. He doesn't want her to leave but he can't tell her that, it would be wrong of him. For now; he just smiles, lying to her. ''I'm glad too!''

Ichigo pauses as his smile wasn't sincere like it usually is. She frowns, hoping he's not… Could he?

They didn't have time to talk this over as they rushed over and barely arrived at the location of the finales. Kaiba, as usual, was pissed off that Yugi arrived late and naturally blamed it on the red cherry head.

''Yeah well you don't have a complicated dad, Kaiba-Baka!'' Ichigo expresses, irritated by the man's attitude. Seto looks at her and just responds back with what a real complicated parent figure is. ''… My real parents died, and my step-father committed suicide when he lost his company by my hands after he tormented me my whole childhood that would make you cry if I make a list.''

''…'' Ichigo makes a stun, half-open mouth expression; speechless to hear that. She pats his back, showing she does care but Kaiba makes a face, moving away. He does permit her and the other cheerleaders to watch the tournament, wanting an audience when he beats Atem. As the other finalists each arrive, revealed to be Judai and some of his friends entering the tournament for the fun of it; Kaiba calls forth his improved Battle Ship. Everyone enters as, after a good meal, the tournament commences with each player knowing who they'll first.

Yugi's first opponent was a surprise as it was Pegasus who landed on top of Kaiba's ship through a helicopter.

''It's that guy I won his deck from his tournament Nya!'' Ichigo utters amazement and shocks Seto heavily, glaring mad at Pegasus. That bastard just had to make that small tournament for some deck to be won by a loser, no less a damn rookie beginner.

The first duel commences as Pegasus uses a combination of his new Toon monsters to overpowered Yugi but he survived each conflict and won using the Legendary Knight Timaeus.

''Wonderful! Most happy you used those cards again.'' Pegasus expresses, most pleased with Yugi's growth. Yugi smiles, accepting the compliment. ''Thank you, by the way.''

''Oh it's quite alright. I was asked to do this of course.'' Pegasus proclaims, not going into details but the one who approached him was Shadow Knight.

It's also when Yugi was able to meet Yako and Gekko Tenma and learn that someone stole the Wicked Gods, alarming Yugi, Jonouchi and even Kaiba with a look of terror.

''Wicked Gods?'' Ichigo, Danny and even Judai question as Yugi explains they're evil God cards, created to counter the Egyptian Gods but they're too strong. Yugi has a bad feeling about who could be behind this.

The second duel is between Kaiba vs Kaiser. The Cyber Dragon duelists use his powerful new combinations but Kaiba puts him down with the devastating Doom Virus Dragon.

''Nii-san.'' Sho utters as he can tell Ryo is smiling as he's grown stronger with his fixed heart.

The third duel is between Jonouchi vs Asuka. She shows off her powerful Cyber Angel Ritual Monsters but Jonouchi uses Lord of the Red to turn the duel around and win.

''Guess I still have to become stronger.'' Asuka expresses, not upset with this loss but she has to become better to be up there to Judai's level. Ichigo blushes, feeling bad for her especially how Jonouchi poses his creepy manly pose and face.

The fourth duel is between Mai vs… The group is shocked that it is Akumu Momomiya who Yugi, Ichigo and the others know he's the Dark Lord taking control of his body. Mai doesn't care, refusing to lose after coming this far. She goes all out with her combination of Amazoness and Harpie Lady but Akumu reveals his Darklord Fairy archetype, overwhelming her and beating her.

''Mai!'' Jonouchi shouts, running up onto the platform to protect Mai and this time-

''I have no reason to hurt her.'' Jonouchi staggers back in surprise as Akumu hops off the platform, staring evilly towards Yugi as he'll be his only target to hurt.

''Thanks, Jonouchi.'' The darkened blond head becomes nervous, turning to see Mai blushing but not looking at him directly. He does the same, scratching the back of his head. He's too embarrassed to admit anything as he looks away. Ichigo giggles as she can tell he likes her… and WISHES he sees that and stops pursuing Erika.

However, the Dark Lord has other plans as he uses his power to alter the next duel to be between Marik's stepbrother and Yami Bakura. Rishid is confused by this match up as Yami Bakura won with Destiny Board. Then, the Dark Lord uses his powers to make Marik see and experience the death of his stepbrother. Letting this despair build up, allow the villain to bring back the darkness of Marik; Yami Marik returns again as it shocks everyone.

''All according to plan.'' Akumu utters with a twisted grin.

The tournament is forced to continue as it is O'Brien's turn against the revived masochist villain in the Sixth Duel. He goes hard with his Volcanics but it is all futile as Yami Marik summons a Darkness version of Ra, the Darkness Winged God Dragon of Ra.

''How are you able to make Darkness cards?!'' Judai demands furiously, only aware that Darkness can make those cards. Akumu smirks as he answers him. ''Fool I can because I am the Dark Lord, the origin of Darkness!''

Yami Marik proceeds to win the duel and almost plans to kill O'Brien but Judai interferes, not going to let him harm any of his friends. Kaiba also threatens the darker Marik to not try anything; not going to let another repeat to happen.

The 7th duel is between Judai vs Edo, their awaited rematch. Even though the danger is real, Judai knows best that it shouldn't ruin his fun for dueling. The two clash, going back and forth but Judai wins with the NEX Fusion of Neos and Grand Mole.

''Heh, just like you to turn the tides.'' Edo expresses, praising Judai who snickers, hoping they'll get a Round 4.

And lastly, the 8th duel is between Manjoume up against Johan. Manjoume isn't going to lose, not when he can finally settle things against Judai. Johan is just happy to be dueling old friends. Sadly, even with Manjoume's most powerful play with Light and Darkness Dragon and then Ojama Yellow, Johan still won.

''DANG IT!'' Manjoume screams as the attack from Ojama Yellow pounces off across his face, freaking out. Johan snickers, proclaiming happily by the awesome duel. ''Nice duel Manjoume!''

There's a small break as Yugi feels blame for all that's happening, not sure how to deal with Yami Marik's darker Ra but Ichigo corrects him, knowing that we'll all have regrets but we'll overcome them nonetheless. Yugi smiles, knowing she's right and he can't let that get to his head. He'll win and stop the Dark Lord's plans.

In secret, Yugi is honestly more saddened for Ichigo. If she leaves; would he… would he be okay on his own? Without her support?

Also, Ichigo is confronted by the Dark Lord, warning her of Deep Blue's awakening, to let go of her love for her boyfriend and also the likely death of the Dragon Knight. Ichigo is silent, not able to comprehend what he means by that.

The first round of the Quarter-Finals commences between Kaiba going up against Judai.

''I don't care if you enjoy dueling like it was oxygen!'' Seto begins to proclaim proudly, raising his hand and clenches it in front of Judai. ''I will crush you with all of my power! That is my dueling style!''

''Heh, well it's not my first time dueling someone with pride like this.'' Judai responds, recalling his duel against Kaibaman. ''That's why I won't back down. Win or lose, I'll give it all I got!''

The duel was extreme as Kaiba uses Crush Card Virus to infect Judai's deck and a trap that stops him from Fusion Summoning and banishes his Graveyard. Regardless, Judai turns the tide and tries a comeback. However, Kaiba showcases his full power with Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon and annihilates Judai.

''Hmph, not bad.'' Seto praises him before he walks away.

The next duel is then between Jonouchi vs Johan. The duel was intense as Jonouchi had a plan to use Sword Hunter to nullify Johan from summoning Rainbow Dragon but he still managed to bring it out. However, he then plays Shield & Sword and a combination of Divine Knight Ishzark and Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword, winning the duel.

''Man, that was an explosive duel!'' Johan expresses with Jonouchi chuckling in agreement.

The third duel was between Yugi/Atem vs Yami Marik as the evil Marik quickly makes this into a Shadow Duel like the first Battle City with Yugi and Marik's souls on the line. He proceeds to summoning out Darkness Ra but the duo had the means to put down Ra once and for all. It worked but Darkness Ra's abilities allowed it to come back over and over like a true Phoenix; unable to ever be killed.

''HAHAHA! IT'S OVER, PHARAOH!'' Yami Marik proclaims energetic, having the perfect field and nothing Atem can do will stop him. ''All your hopes to defeat me are nullified!''

Yugi and Atem continue while Yugi's spiritual body is fading by Yami Marik's Duel of Darkness game like before. He's losing heavily all while Yami Mark gloats evilly and sadistic, loving the pain he's going through. Ichigo couldn't see this anymore, cheering Yugi on as she doesn't want him to die. Yugi stares speechless, however, Yami Marik snickers evilly as he vows to make her suffer and make Yugi watch as she dies before his eyes. He doesn't take it well and his eyes become angry.

''I won't let you.'' Yugi begins to utter, squeezing his hands as he tries to budge his arms apart. ''I may still be the same weak person you knew…'' Beginning the past and how much he needed Atem's help; Yugi isn't the same as now; he wants to walk down his own path.

''BUT!'' As his eyes turn and glow into the red burning dragon eyes, Yugi lets out a howling roar; breaking free of the binds of Darkness and takes full control of his body as he vows determinedly and passionately. ''I won't let you hurt ANYONE ELSE!''

Yami Marik is speechless by this, not possible for anyone to break free from the Game of Darkness rules. Yugi proceeds to summon forth the original Ra, roaring furiously at the fake imposter. Yami Marik still had a play in case he summoned the original but Yugi was a step ahead, fusing Ra with Timaeus to become The Primordial Sun God Dragon – Ra!

Everyone is shocked by this revelation, except Ichigo who giggles. Kaiba growls, never expecting Yugi to have a trump card and one not involving Atem either. Was he- no, he couldn't be stronger?!

''This is the path I walk on now!'' Yugi proclaims determinedly, enraged Yami Marik with a murderous glare only to be countered by Yugi's determined dragon eyes.

Yugi and the evolved Ra challenges Yami Marik and his Darkness Ra as Yugi's is far superior to the fake. Yami Marik literally sweats in terror, gazing upon Yugi's furious, glowing dragon eyes as if they're piercing through into his very soul. The duel is still far from over as Yami Marik, more affected by the Darkness' cards dark influence, begins losing himself while Yugi sets Atem with the final turn. He summons both Osiris and Obelisk to his field and with all 3 Gods; he brings forth The Creator God of Light, Horakhty. With her Instant Win effect; she vanishes Yami Marik and frees Marik.

''Do you see that, Dark Leader Dragon-kun!'' Yugi shouts out seriously as he squeezes his right hand over his chest. ''No matter what Darkness Card you create; our bonds and hopes won't be devoured by them!''

Smirking, Akumu reappears and questions that as he gazes at Yami Bakura and duels him. Bakura, aware the Dark Lord won't kill him but makes him think so; is aware he's his Guinea pig as the Dark Lord summons forth the Wicked Gods: Dreadroot, Eraser and the Avatar. This shocks everyone as he proceeds to show the dreadfulness of defeat; "killing" Yami Bakura.

''Your bonds and hope mean nothing to true Darkness.'' Akumu proclaims, gazing towards Yugi menacingly. ''And I intend to show you, brat!''

Yugi glares strongly, not going to let him win. He won't!
