The Labyrinth
The dawn breaks over the city of Heatherfield signalling another beautiful morning. However in the shadows of a certain new local book store on the street, dark forces were stirring. Inside the owner was placing a book on a shelf, however this book had writing on the spine that was not of this world, because it wasn't. For the owner was none other than Lord Cedric now in human form. He left the book shelf and headed down the aisle of books on the shelves until he arrived at a door in the back.
Inside it was an office surrounded by many books. On the desk lay a crystal ball with a golden and turquoise base with griffin heads on its side. Cedric took a handful of sand from a small box and poured it over the ball. A breeze filled the room as papers went flying. The crystal ball then lit up with a golden light, Cedric bowed to his knee as a mist surrounded it.
Emerging from the mist was his master Prince Phobos. "Lord Cedric, I'm becoming impatient for good news." He said rather impatient.
"I found an inversion point between Meridian and this Earth bookstore, which provides a perfect cover for searching for the girl." Cedric reported.
"And..the Guardians and He-Man?" Phobos asked.
"So far they are unaware of my presence it would seem that the presence of those Shadow Beasts has thrown them off the scent for now." Cedric reported. "However the one who lead them here has disappeared."
"So this means there are other forces at work. Regardless for now our focus is locating my sister." Phobos then dismissed. "Once my sister is identified, we must slowly and carefully bring her into our confidence, and then right into our trap. Your human form will serve us well."
"Yes." Cedric agreed before feeling his face as though faint there was still the trace of a certain scar. "Unfortunately it does not do much to erase the wound of that accused Battle Cat."
"You will get your retribution soon enough, that I promise you." Phobos then smirked.
Eternia: Castle Grayskull:
Meanwhile back on Eternia another conflict was looming. A great battle was taking place outside the walls of Castle Grayskull. The Masters of the Universe were engaged in a battle with Skeletor and his minions.
Man at Arms lead the attack firing his arm cannon at the incoming forces. Suddenly he heard a familiar cackling laugh and noticed Skeletor rode his chariot as he approached the gates of Grayskull. Acting quickly he ran after him only for his path to be intercepted by Stinkor piloting a Bashusaurus vehicle. The villain pulled the lever as the large bashing ball was about to crash down on Man at Arms suddenly an unforeseen force slammed into the side knocking it on its side.
The master of technology looked and saw the source was Ram Man who just dusted off his hands, while Man at Arms nodded back in gratitude. Skeletor soon approached the walls of Grayskull itself and fired a massive beam from his Havoc staff. However as if by magic a large energy shield surrounded the castle deflecting the blast which instead hit the villains Ram battle chariot. Skeletor growled in frustration.
"Foolish sorceress with your champion gone you are venerable! You will not keep what is rightfully mine from my grasp!" Skeletor yelled as he was about to unleash another powerful blast when suddenly an energy blast shot his havoc staff right out of his hands.
"Don't count on it!" He looked and saw Man at Arms along with Teela standing with him. The latter of which charged at the bone faced tyrant however before she could strike at him with her staff. A blast of dark magic blasted her away.
Meanwhile Stratos and Buzzoff attacked from the skies, while avoiding the blasts from Triklop's centre eye The Andreenid swooped down and used his Battle Lance to deflect an incoming blast right at TriKlops feet while Stratos swooped in with his jet pack wings and delivered a powerful kick to his head knocking him into Merman who was duelling with Man-E-Faces as he was now using his monster strength.
Beast man was about to attack until Man-E-Faces switch to his robot face and blasted him in the chest with his blaster. Then another attack from the side compliments of Roboto's energy cannon catapulted the Bezzerker away.
Back at the gates of Grayskull, Teela quickly recovered and quickly twirled her staff to deflect another of Evil-Lyn's dark magic blasts.
"Pathetic child there's no He-Man to save you this time he's all but abandoned you!" The witch taunted which struck a nerve in Teela as she pushed back on her staff and then leaped in the air swatting her away with the staff before she kicked her with a roundhouse kick.
Evil Lyn was about to strike back when suddenly a large vine grabbed her by the wrist, more vines quickly emerged and even wrapped around Skeletor. Just then Trap Jaw and Slapback swooped in on griffins only for the vines to entrap them as well. It is then revealed the culprit was Moss Man who emerged from the ground.
Skeletors eyes burned red as he reached out his hand summoning his Havoc staff to him and used it to unleash burning fire on the vines burning him and his minions free causing Moss Man to cry out in pain as he fell to the ground.
"Ah I do love the smell of burnt pine in the morning!" Skeletor cackled. However his gloating was short lived as suddenly the other Masters were converging on their position.
Skeletor growled in anger seeing his forces had been pushed back. "Grrr I am surrounded by incompetance!" Skeletor growled. "Withdraw!" he ordered and without another word the two griffin's descended and picked up Skeletor and Evil Lyn as they and their forces fled the battle ground.
The other Masters reunited with Man at Arms and Teela while Stratos helped Moss Man to his feet. "Are you alright my friend?" Stratos asked.
"I'm okay." Moss Man thanked. "It'll take more than a little pruning to stop me."
"Any other wounded?" Man at Arms answered.
Roboto then scanned the other Masters for injuries and when he was finished he delivered a diagnosis. "Negative no injuries have been sustained to any of us."
Buzz Off then descended. "This is getting out of hand this is the third attack in a week!"
"He's right Skeletors gotten a lot more bolder, he's been blowing holes in Grayskull on a daily basis." Ram Man agreed.
"I agree but we were able to fend off Skeletors attack." Man at Arms then said to try and raise moral.
"Just barely!" Teela then spoke up. "Father we cannot keep this up forever as Skeletor attacks he just does so again. And where is He-Man?! We haven't heard or seen any sign of him for weeks!" Teela then said which did make the other Masters wonder as it was true Skeletors attacks had become more frequent and every time there was no sign of Grayskull's champion.
"Teela He-Mans obligations don't end just at Grayskull, he has all of Eternia to think about which is why we must defend in his absence and when he is needed he will come." Man At Arms explained.
"We needed him today!" Teela said all but frustrated as she stormed off away from the castle back to the Wind Raider. Duncan just sighed in his own frustration before turning to the Masters. "We must return to Eternos and report to the King." He said and the other Masters nodded in response.
The Master of Technology was now alone as he looked up to Castle Grayskull and saw standing in one of its eyes only faintly, was The Sorceress. She looked and could see the look in Man At Arms eyes and she knew how He-Man's or rather Adams absence was having its effects on Eternia.
Earth: Heatherfield: Sheffield Institute:
It was a normal day in Heatherfield, and in a classroom a teacher was wiping the blackboard, strangely with his tie. "I think you'll find that you appreciate the time you've spent this term studying uh... the uh,... Uh... the study of... eh…"The teacher stuttered while Irma just made a cartoony sketch of said teacher as it seemed he wasn't the brightest there was, not to mention forgetful.
"The origins of myth." Taranee finished for the teacher with her hand in the air.
The teacher turned to the class. "Yes, thank you." He then dusted off his hands which caused many of the students, Hay Lin and Irma included to giggle.
"Uh... Now, your mid-term essays." The teacher said as he pulled out of his brief case some papers which were the students essays. Out of nowhere was a gust of wind from an open window blew the papers out of the teachers hands.
"For heaven's sake." He complained and the students just all laughed at his misfortune. He quickly picked up the papers and started handing them out. "Some of you performed better than I expected, while others failed to perform at all."
Taranee looked rather confident in her essay results while Irma and Hay Lin looked rather nervously at each other. "I lost consciousness somewhere around Zeus's third wife." Irma whispered behind her hand as the teacher handled her her paper. However instead of disappointed she looked surprised. Are you sure this is mine? It's my terrible handwriting…." The teacher simply nodded.
"I got a "B"?!" Irma said in complete surprise. "That means I can get a "D" on the next one and still pass! Yes! Yes! Yes!"
The teacher then proceeded to hand Hay Lin her essay and she was equally surprised as she got the same grade. "No way! Me too!" She squeaked in happiness as she high-fived her friend.
Taranee was waiting expectantly for her essay and result, however what happened next came as a surprise. "Taranee, see me after class."
The teacher simply walked away without another word while Taranee was left there completely gobsmacked. "Huh?" She gasped.
Silver Dragon:
Meanwhile Caleb was having some troubles of his own. "Oh, I don't know. What do you recommend?" The customer asked his waiter who was a rather impatient looking Caleb.
"That you hurry up. I've got other customers." Caleb suggested rather rudely.
"Waiter! My wife asked for water with no ice." Another customer who was sitting with his wife then said to Caleb.
"Tell her to wait until it melts." Caleb replied. "You people wouldn't last a day in Meridian." He then muttered.
"What's Meridian?" The customer asked his wife.
"I think it's one of those fancy places downtown." His wife answered.
"Hey." Just then a disguised Orko appeared as he used his magic to inflate his pants to look like legs and he too wore an apron too. "If you would like water without ice I could sort that out."
"Uh aren't you a little young to be working here?" Asked the wife.
"Oh no I'm just uh.." Orko had to come up with an excuse. "A little short for my age."
Not wanting to question she handed the glass to Orko, who then turned round slightly and then with a wiggle of his fingers he conjured a little magic. But secretly as he didn't want anyone to see.
When he handed it back seconds later the wife looked a little shocked. "Uh is something wrong?" Orko asked.
"Yes I asked for a cold drink." She held up the drink that was completely frozen in ice. "Not this cold."
"Oops uh no worries I can fix this." Orko said as he took the glass back.
Meanwhile Caleb was tending to customer he was serving, and was getting more and more annoyed with him. "What's the Szechwan chicken like?" The customer asked.
The rebel leader then put his note book down and went over to another customers table. The customer in question had the meal that the customer asked for. Caleb then out of the blue snatched the half eaten meal and slammed it in front of the customer he was serving.
"It's like this, but there's more of it." He said much to the guests shock.
"Ah Caleb." Just then Miss Lin appeared and pulled Calab away from the customer and through the restaurant to the kitchen door. "I think we can spare you from out front for a few minutes."
"Suits me. Are they always like this?" Caleb asked as he took his white apron off. Then suddenly a large *BOOM* and water sprinkling could be heard. They looked and heard the sound of a screaming customer. Namely one Orko was serving. It would seem his efforts to make cold water with his magic had caused a bit of a fountain.
"Oh so sorry I thought that was cold water not a cold shower." Orko apologies much to the customers dismay.
"Still at least I'm doing better than Orko." Caleb said. Miss Lin just face palmed herself and went over to the incident.
"My apologies he's new here, I'll get you some towels and a fresh water cup." Miss Lin apologised as she pulled Orko away by his arm and they went in back.
"Orko I thought I told you not to use your magic in the restaurant." Miss Lin scolded lightly.
"Sorry Miss Lin I just thought I could help out I didn't mean any harm besides I'm good at being helpful." Orko apologised feeling a little ashamed.
"You mean by dousing the customers in water or overcooking a meal with a fire spell." Caleb joked.
"Caleb."Miss Lin said to him before looking back to the small wizard. "Orko I understand that you only wished to help but you must also know that magic in this world can be dangerous. Maybe you should take time to learn more of Earth to help you fit in." She said in an understanding way.
"But how do I do that?" Orko asked curiously.
"Maybe try reading a book."Caleb sarcastically said. "Assuming you don't set it on fire." He joked, but Orko just slumped down sadly as he dispelled his (legs) and floated away rather sad. To the small Trollan he felt out of place and feeling a little useless not unlike on Eternia.
"Have you tried thinking with your mind instead of your mouth?" Miss Lin said to him rather harshly.
"What?" Caleb asked not realising how his words hurt the small wizards feelings.
Soon Orko was in the basement and used his magic to turn his casual clothes back to his wizards attire. However he was still upset. He looked to a certain mirror on the wall he floated over to it.
"Sorceress, are you there?" Orko asked and the magic mirror lit up in life and cast the projection of the Sorceress of Grayskull.
"Oh, Orko…this is an unexpected surprise." The Sorceress greeted. "Though, I sense a little doubt and sorrow in your heart."
"Yeah you could say that." Orko admitted. "I don't suppose there's any chance you could send me back to Eternia?" The Sorceress was surprised by that request but then again she had seen this look in the small wizards eye once before when he requested to be returned to Trolla.
"I can Orko, but first tell me what's wrong?" She asked.
"Well…I…I don't know I just ever since I came to this world I feel so…so useless." Orko admitted to the Sorceress. "I mean I feel like I cause nothing but problems if not on Eternia or Meridian then here on Earth I just…"
"You feel like an outcast." The Sorceress realised to which Orko nodded in response. "Orko, do you recall when you asked me to return you to Trolla?"
"Uh yeah I felt like I was causing too many problems in Eternos so I came to Grayskull." Orko remembered.
"Indeed, and it was I who reminded you that you have a way of providing things when they are needed, be it the gift of laughter to those who are down, or the power to stand up for your friends." The Sorceress smiled. "Even now you aid He-Man and the Guardians in the struggles ahead."
"Yeah but still messing things up when it's not an action battle." Orko said a little down. "Even Caleb thinks so."
"Do not let the doubt of others lower your confidence young mage." The Sorceress said placing her astral hand on his shoulder. "The confidence you seek will come when the time is right." She said and before she faded into the mirror she spoke again. "For now I leave you with this wisdom Orko, courage and power are all well, however it is the knowledge and confidence of ones abilities that make them the most fearless of them all, but all come when the time is right." With that the Sorceress's astral form disappeared out of sight. Leaving the small Trollan with much to think about.
Hiding on the upper staircase was Yan Lin she had overheard that conversation, and wondered what she could do to help the young wizard.
Meanwhile: Sheffield Institute:
Meanwhile Taranee met with her teacher at the end of class as requested. He didn't look pleased one little bit. "I'm very disappointed that you failed to turn in an essay." He said.
"That I what?" Taranee asked confused, she didn't know what he was talking about.
"If you couldn't finish in time, you should have asked for... uh... One of those things you ask for when you can't finish." The Teacher stuttered.
"But I turned it in a day early!" Taranee explained. "It was on Theseus and the Minotaur…"
"An extension!" The teacher snapped his fingers realising his answer.
"It's on my computer. I can email it to you the second I get home." Taranee urged as her teacher stood up and got his briefcase.
"A deadline's a deadline, Miss... uh... Anyway, you get an "F" on this paper." The teacher decided as he took his leave . If Taranee wasn't shocked before she was now. She had never gotten an F being such a star student, but she knew she had handed in that essay on time, she suspected the teachers clumsy nature was involved.
Silver Dragon:
Back at the Silver Dragon, Caleb was in the basement at the Photocopier. He was copying menus for the restaurant. Hanging from the pipes above he was being watched by a certain Passling, who was all but mesmerised by the machine as it copied the menus.
"Oh! How it do it?" Blunk asked.
"I don't know how it do it. I know it will make identical maps of Phobos' castle for my field commanders, after I finish copying "Today's Yummy Shrimp Specials"." Caleb explained as he gathered up the photocopied menus. Blunk then dropped down from the pipes and tapped the side of the machine.
"What's the matter? Too big to steal?" Caleb smirked. "You could ask Orko to make it float, unless you like floating." He then joked.
"Hey Orko good wizard!" Blunk stated. "Trades good tricks."
Caleb just shook his head as he walked away. Curiosity having got the better of the Pasling he got a stool and stood up on it to look at the machine controls. He then pressed the copying button as Caleb did and planted his face on it and the machine worked its magic.
Castle Grayskull: Eternia:
Within the confines of Castle Grayskull the Sorceress stood before her viewing mirror contemplating things. Then she felt a presence behind her and could sense who it was without looking.
"You received my message." The Sorceress said as from behind her was Man At Arms.
"Yes, and I needed to speak with you anyway. Skeletors attacks are becoming bolder, and Teela continues to have questions about He-Mans whereabouts." Man At Arms stated.
"Yes I have seen." The Sorceress said.
"While I agree Adam would be of use training these Guardians it also leaves Eternia and Grayskull venerable." Man At Arms also said. "How Skeletor came to have knowledge of this bewilders me."
"I believe I may know the answer Duncan." The Sorceress said turning to him which left him quite curious. "But I think it is best if Prince Adam tells you." The Sorceress then turned her powers on the viewing mirror in the wall to contact their allies on Earth.
The Silver Dragon: Heatherfield:Earth:
Within the basement some hours earlier, Adam, the girls, Cringer and Orko were all assembled. The Sorceress had previously sent a psychic message requesting the prince assemble the Guardians. The magic mirror in the wall surged into life and projected the astral projections of the Sorceress and Man at Arms.
"Greetings Prince Adam, and to you too Guardians." The Sorceress greeted.
"Hi Sorceress." Hay Lin greeted, it was then Irma noticed the individual next to her.
"Whoa who's that?" Irma asked but Adam recognised him all too well indeed.
"Man At Arms!" Adam said very happy to see a familiar face.
"Hello Adam, good to see you're doing well." Man at Arms greeted with a smile, it was then he noticed the girls with him. "And these must be the Guardians."
"Yeah, Duncan, this is Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin, the Guardians of the Veil." Adam introduced the girls. "Girls this is Duncan, Man At Arms to the Kingdom of Eternos and leader of the Masters of the Universe."
"Whoa, he looks even cooler than you described him!" Irma said in surprise.
"Its a privilege to meet you uh sir. Adams told us so much about you." Will greeted.
"The honour is mine but I must say some of you look…younger than I was expecting." Man At Arms said noticing the girls age.
"Well you know what they say big things come in small packages." Hay Lin beamed with a smile.
"Its true Duncan they maybe young but I've seen them do incredible things and they saved my life a few times too." Adam explained.
So he went on explaining all that had happened during his arrival to Earth, how he and the girls had fought off Cedric and Phobos as they attempted to rescue him, Caleb and Will from the dungeons and how they infiltrated the castle to save a friend of Calebs. Man At Arms had to admit he was rather impressed with these feats these young ones had accomplished. Then Adam explained their current situation regarding the beast that was sent to locate the missing heir to the Meridian throne.
"I see, it would seem you have all been through a lot these past few weeks." Man At Arms explained. "And your saying that Beast Man was on Earth?"
"Yeah and he brought a few Shadow Beasts along with him when we tried to find Phobo's spy." Adam explained while leaving out some uh misunderstood events.
"Well this certainly explains a great deal." Man At Arms realised.
"It does?" Cornelia asked.
"Yes." Man At Arms took a deep breath before he spoke again, he didn't want to tell Adam this but he had to. "Skeletor has been pressing his attacks on Grayskull over the past few weeks, every assault more deadly than the last. The Masters and myself have been able to fend them off but only with the help of the Sorceress." This news had caught Adam, Cringer and Orko's attention. "Now we know why Skeletor has become aware of He-Mans absence on Eternia."
"What!" Adam exclaimed. "Gah I knew this would happen!"
"So why didn't you tell us Sorceress?" Will asked.
"I couldn't be sure how Skeletor knew until now, but yes he has found a way of sending his minions to Earth." The Sorceress explained.
"Evil Lyns handiwork no doubt." Man At Arms realised.
"Wait so could he know about Phobos and the heir?" Will asked.
"Doubt it if Skeletor was involved we'd know, I would know." Adam said rather serious. "But if Eternia is in danger I should return to help."
"No Prince Adam, for now I have the situation in hand I can protect Grayskull with my powers and the Masters can protect Eternia." The Sorceress explained but Adam wasn't happy about this.
"But if people need He-Mans help?" Adam questioned.
"I can summon you back to Grayskull if needed, I understand this maybe difficult but for now He-Man is needed in this fight against Phobos." The Sorceress explained to him. Adam didn't like it but then again he knew the Sorceress had been right about many things, and he never once questioned it. Man At Arms was silently in agreement with the prince. Adam nodded in understanding.
Will could see how this affected the Prince as did the other girls. "I know this is tough Adam but maybe for now we look at what we know first." She said with a hand on his shoulder.
Adam nodded in agreement. "Okay so if Professor Collins nor Beast Man were the beast we know is living in Heatherfield, who is?" Will then said.
"Did you consult the Mage for guidance?" The Sorceress asked.
"Yeah and she said to reveal a beast, you touch it with the Heart of Kandrakar." Hay Lin explained as she stroked Cringers head while Orko was practicing some juggling.
"Well we can't go around the city touching everyone with a crystal." Will said pointing her finger around to show her point. "People will think we're weird."
"Uh hey." Orko then piped up while juggling. "What about that amulet we used to determine if Collins was a beast couldn't we use that to track him down?"
"A good idea but I don't know if thats gonna work if they see you floating around above them." Will shrugged.
"Oh." Orko said which caused him to drop his balls which fell on his head one by one. Which did cause a bit of a giggle from Cornelia. But the small Trollan still felt down in the dumps.
"Hey Taranee what do you think?"Adam asked, but they looked and saw that the fire guardian looked distracted.
"I bet he lost it on the way to school had had to have lost it!" Taranee said to herself.
"Taranee!" Adam said getting her attention.
"Huh what?" Taranee shot to attention.
"Uh are you okay?" Cringer asked out of concern.
"Sorry guys its just…my teacher lost my essay and I got an F because of it I worked so hard and handed it in on time but he lost it." Taranee explained.
"Wouldn't surprise me he has a clumsy tendency." Irma agreed.
"Uh Taranee, we all grieve for your loss but the world's been invaded by monsters from two worlds! Focus!" Cornelia exclaimed to her.
"She's right while this, lost essay maybe distressing we must stay focused on the task at hand." Man At Arms agreed. "What else did you find out?"
"Well we know Cedric came to earth looking for birth records of girls born thirteen years ago." Irma said. "We thought he was looking for one of us?"
"Yeah but I'm betting one Wind Raider he was trying to find the missing heir thats supposed to be here on Earth." Adam said, then he remembered. "Wait, Duncan didn't you say you and my father went to Meridian years ago?"
"That we did Adam." Man At Arms explained. "We met with the king and queen many years ago before you were born and long before this veil was raised."
"So did you by any chance see the heir or even Phobos?" Hay Lin asked.
"Based on what you've told me I do remember seeing a young boy with the king and queen but. I'm afraid I do not recollect a daughter." Man At Arms explained. "She would most likely not have been born yet if you say she is around the age of thirteen, she would've been born sometime after Randor and I left." He finished much to everyones disappointment.
"Well it was a long shot." Adam said. "I just wish we had more to go on."
"Yeah trying to find this missing heir is like looking for a needle in a haystack." Will agreed. "
"We might as well throw a dart anywhere this true heir could be anyone, and we don't know where that shapeshifting beast Cedric is hiding." Cornelia agreed.
"Do not frustrate yourselves, remember how cunning your enemy is he will have done everything to hide his agents presence." The Sorceress explained.
"Indeed don't forget Adam how Skeletor used that same cunning to gather his Council of Evil to destroy us and take Grayskull." Man At Arms agreed. "This Phobos the way you described him plays his hand with the cunning of a fox, so you must be on your guard."
"He lost it thats the only explanation." Taranee voiced as everyone else groaned in annoyance.
"So what should we do?" Adam asked.
"For the moment be patient, I have every bit of confidence that you will uncover this spy." The Sorceress explained. "But be on your guard for he could be anyone."
"But what about Eternia?" Adam asked with great concern about his home.
"It is in safe hands Prince Adam, should we need He-Man I will send for you. We will speak again soon." With that the projection of the Sorceress and Man At Arms disappeared from sight and the mirror symbols returned to normal.
Adam sighed in frustration, and the girls could sense it from him as well. Will walked up to him and put her hand on his shoulder. "Hey you okay?"
"Yeah I…I'm fine." Adam said.
The girls all looked concerned and Cringer was the most concerned of all he could see Adam was concerned about his home and kingdoms wellbeing. Just then the mood was interrupted by the sound of Will's phone. She answered it.
"Hello Mom?" Will answered.
"Hi Will sorry to cut your time with your friends short but you've got extra math homework so you'll have to say goodbye." Susan said over the phone.
"What?! Mom Mrs Rudolph didn't give me any extra math homework?" Will questioned.
"No I did after reading your mid term report." Susan replied.
Will just groaned in annoyance. "Okay I'm on my way."She then hung up the phone. "Gah I swear math is almost as hard as fighting evil monsters. Help please?" Will said to the girls almost in a begging way."
"Okay. The little straight line between two numbers means you subtract." Irma joked.
"Ha ha very funny." Said a very sarcastic Will as she picked up her bag and left.
"Okay come on girls we gotta meet up with Elyon to get our study guides." Cornelia said as she stood up followed by the others.
"Hey Adam, you coming?" Irma asked.
"Huh? Oh no no uh I've got some extra homework to do anyway." Adam explained.
"Oh okay." Hay Lin said noticing how down Adam was looking and she could see he wasn't the only one as she looked to a certain wizard. "Hey Orko, do you want to come with us?"
This perked the small Trollans attention. "Really?" Orko asked.
"Yeah really?" Cornelia also asked only to be elbowed by Hay Lin.
"Yeah besides we're going to a book store there's loads you can read." Hay Lin suggested. "Maybe learn something new."
Orko thought for a moment and then looked to the girls a little cheered up. "Okay." Orko snapped his fingers and his wizards attire turned into his Earth clothes that Hay Lin made for him. So they headed out but Cornelia hung back with Hay Lin and Taranee.
"So why is Orko coming with us again?" Cornelia asked.
"Guys grandma told me Orkos been feeling down lately so maybe he needs a change of scenery from being cooped up in here." Hay Lin explained.
"I know how he feels, its like losing my essay." Taranee couldn't stop wondering about the essay which did annoy the girls a little.
Later as the sun was going down the girls walked down the street and soon they saw a familiar face. "Hey girls!" They looked and saw Elyon waiting for them at the street corner.
"Hey Elyon sorry we're late." Cornelia apologised.
"No worries." Elyon said and noticed the disguised wizard. "Oh who's this?"
"Oh right, Elyon you remember Orko, from Wills brithday?" Hay Lin explained.
"Orko?" Elyon thought but then she remembered. "Oh yeah that magician I gotta say those tricks of yours were awesome."
"Oh uh thanks." Orko said a little bashful which did perk him up a bit.
The girls then turned their attention to a certain new book store on the corner street. "So Elyon why this book store why don't we get our study guides from the mall or the school library." Hay Lin asked.
"This store is new so I thought we should check it out." Elyon explained. "Plus the mall book store doesn't have a tall, hunky manager." She then said and said manager caught Cornelia's attention as he was unpacking books from the box outside the store.
"With jet, black eyes, a devilish smile and a bad boy scar." Cornelia said in agreement.
"Huh?" Orko said confused.
"Come on Orko." Hay Lin said as she took his hand and they crossed the street.
"Maybe if I retrace Puddington's steps I'll find it in a bush or something. Or on the kerb? I thought I saw some papers over there." Taranee muttered to herself about the essay.
The girls and disguised wizard walked into the doorway of the bookstore and saw there were boxes of books all over the place. It was clear the store was still being organised.
"Wow, it reminds me of my room back home." Orko said.
"Hi! Where are the middle school textbooks?" Cornelia called out to the manager with a giggle.
"All over, I'm afraid. There's more in the back. " A voice echoed through the store. So the girls looked around the store. Cornelia was with Elyon looking at a book shelf close to the front of the store while Irma, Hay Lin and Taranee were with Orko looking in the back.
Cedric who was still in human form emerged from the shadows to see his customers were the Guardians and the disguised Trollan wizard who he hoped didn't recognise him. So he decided to put on a trustworthy look.
"Apologies for the mess I'm still getting organised." He said which did take Cornelia and Elyon by surprise.
"Oh! Me too. I'm Cornelia." She waved hello.
"Elyon Brown. Hi." Elyon also introduced herself.
"Rick Hoffman." Cedric said introducing himself. The girls simply smiled at how handsome he looked.
Hay Lin meanwhile was looking around at some of the books on the shelves with Orko. Who while the manager wasn't looking floated up and pulled out a book which was about greek myths.
"Ooo what's this one?" Orko asked as he started reading the book. He took an interest in the greek ruins and the Parthenon in Athens and some of the greek creatures of myth."Wow some of these creatures and sites remind me of home." He mused.
Taranee saw how Orko had taken an interest. "Well Orko those are sites from Ancient Greece and some great legends were established there. Like Theseus and the Minotaur." Taranee explained.
"Wow, we actually have labyrinths on Eternia." Orko said with interest. Hay Lin continued looking at some books along with Irma.
"Hey guys did you see the look on Adams face after he heard about Eternia?" Hay Lin asked.
"Hard not to." Irma said. "I mean I get the Sorceress sent him here to help but who's to say he can't help back home as well?" She then said. "I mean from what he's told us this Skeletor guy sounds totally psycho evil, while Phobos is just decaf."
"Yeah he doesn't keep us up at night." Taranee said and they all shared a laugh about it.
"I don't get it?" Orko said rather confused.
Meanwhile high above the shelves was an air vent, and crawling out of it was a certain Pasling. He turned his attention to the tape fly trap in the ceiling and looked rather hungrily at it.
"Old store. New flies." Blunk said as he put his mouth around the fly tape and sucked it into his mouth, chewed on it then pulled the now fly free tape and put it back in place he then went looking round.
"Sorry about the mess. It's taking me a while to sort everything out." He heard Cedric/Ricks voice talking to the girls.
"I know exactly how that is, my mom is always getting at me for tidying up my room." Elyon replied.
Orko meanwhile was still floating round the back, he was looking for more books as Taranee telling him about greek myths got him intrigued. However as he flew past a certain bookshelf he caught sight of something.
"Hey what's this?" He wondered, he took a closer look and it was then he recognised the writing and a large breeze blew him back and he was a little weak.
Just as he was about to collapse, Hay Lin caught him. "Hey you okay little guy?" Hay Lin asked.
"Hey look at this!" Orko floated back up and pointed out the book to the air guardian and she was just as shocked.
"GUYS GUYS GUYS!" Hay Lin and Orko cried getting Irma and Taranee's attention as they walked over.
Hoffman who happened to hear the two call out looked rather weary hoping they hadn't found anything they weren't supposed to. To not arose suspicion he moved to unpack more boxes that were outside walking past Cornelia and Elyon.
"Well, I'd better go look for my history book, like that's gonna do me any good." Cornelia then said. "The Middle Ages are so last week." She proceeded inside looking for the other girls leaving Elyon with Rick.
"Cornelia's my best friend." Elyon giggled.
"Yes so I can see." Rick smiled.
"Hey so if you don't mind my asking how did you get that scratch on your face?" Elyon asked.
"Oh well a small disagreement between me and a stray alley cat." Rick explained leaving certain details out.
Back inside Cornelia proceeded to the back of the shop where she found the girls and Orko looking completely shocked.
"His little ponytail is so cute." Cornelia said in awe over the manager.
"Corny! Look at the lettering on this book!" Irma gasped as she came over. Above them Blunk was plucking more flies off the fly tape when he noticed the girls below.
"I told you to stop calling me... Oh, my…" Cornelia gasped as she saw the books writing it was very familiar.
"It looks like that writing me, Will and Adam found at the station!" Hay Lin exclaimed.
"Thats because it is its the Meridian graffiti!" Taranee realised.
"Whoa I wonder if its the same on the inside." Orko wondered as he reached for the book but as he pulled on it suddenly in a bright flash of light everyone disappeared.
Blunks jaw dropped seeing this. "Huh! Girls and Orko, then no girls and Orko." He breathed and decided to make himself scarce.
Elyon was soon inside and looking for her friends. "Guys!" She called but with no reply."Cornelia?" she was all alone with no idea what happened to her friends.
Meanwhile: Vandom Residence:
In the confines of Wills room she was at her desk trying to do some maths revision compliments of her mother. Her only source of light was from the lamp on her desk.
"Hmm... X equals... X equals... Oh! 12." She realised as she read her maths book. "So the correct answer, of course, is... X equals Y squared? That's not even math, that's spelling." She was speaking to the stuffed frog toy doll on her desk shining a light on it from her lamp. "Hey, do you have math in frog-world? You need it, to keep track of 100,000 kids. Of course, most of them are eaten by ducks."She shrugged. Ah honestly trying to do math is as hard as fighting monsters and demons. Still at least it's a quiet night out there."
Elsewhere:
Orko quickly put the book back on the shelf and floated back in shock. "Whoa…did anyone else just feel that!?" The Trollan felt spooked.
"Yeah I felt that too like a shiver down my spine!" Hay Lin said.
"All I felt was boredom." Cornelia groaned.
"I felt it!" Irma said feeling rather terrified by the feeling. However something got Taranee's attention which all but scared the group more.
"Um... Was this aisle as big as this when we walked in?" She then asked as everyone saw how rather long the hallway had grown in size.
"Okay I know the store wasn't this big before!" Cornelia said in alert.
"Oh no! Orko I think you broke the book store!" Hay Lin said rather panicked.
"I..it wasn't me! I didn't do anything!" Orko said a little panicked as the books surged with golden light scaring everyone in the aisle. The lights spread to the other books as well.
"Uh oh." Orko squeaked.
"I know this is a lousy cliché but let's get outta here!" Irma exclaimed and the group ran away from that aisle as fast as they could the hallway felt like it went on and on for infinity. However when they reached the end they saw the pathway went in several different directions. It soon dawned on them they weren't in the book store but rather in the middle of a large maze of twists and turns.
"Wow! He renovated fast." Irma said catching her breath.
"Uh guys, I don't think we're on Earth anymore." Orko stuttered as he used his magic to change back to his wizards clothes.
Taranee looked around her surroundings and realised that the small wizard was right. Suddenly it hit her. "Oh no! Everybody back up. Take two right turns." She said as they turned back to the way they came.
"Why?" Cornelia asked.
"Because we took two left turns." Taranee explained.
"Ohh I get it its a maze!" Orko realised seeing the twists and turns. "No wait wait a Labyrinth.
"Yes, like Theseus and the Minotaur." Taranee said to the small wizard.
"Oh I got a B on that!" Hay Lin said happily.
"Shush she's being smart." Irma hushed Hay Lin.
"We can't just stand here. We'll get lost unless we have something to lead us back." Taranee said to the group.
"Uh Orko I don't suppose you have any magic path finders?" Irma looked to the small wizard.
"Path finder right uh let's see." Orko said as he started wiggling his fingers. "We are lost in a maze get us out of this haze!" Orko recited a spell and from his magic produced weirdly. A piece of string which landed in Orkos hand.
"A piece of string?" Irma questioned.
"Awww It was supposed to be a way out! I goofed again!" Orko said very frustrated as he threw to the string to the ground.
Taranee knelt down and picked up the string from the floor she looked at it then at a certain sweater that a certain blonde was wearing. "Actually Orko, you might've just given me an idea!" Taranee realised as she stood up and looked to Cornelia. "Cornelia, give me your sweater."
"How are we going to find our way back by leaving my sweater behind? What's that got to do with…" Cornelia asked then she realised in horror. "Oh, no! No, no, no. We can't. Not my sweater!"
"Cornelia!" Hay Lin insisted.
"Oh alright." Cornelia whined rather upset as she took off her sweater and handed it to Taranee. "Here."
Meanwhile:
In the city streets a lone Prince Adam wandered he needed some fresh air for a bit so he took an evening walk to the park. He stopped for a moment near a tree, he had a lot on his mind. All he learned of what was going on back in Eternia he felt at a crossroads, on one hand he'd been sent to fight Phobos and free a kingdom from a tyrant but it also leaves Eternia and Castle Grayskull venerable to Skeletor's ruthless attacks. He wasn't sure what to do he pondered in thought for a moment.
"Adam?" He jumped in fright almost reaching for the sword buckle but when he looked he saw Elyon.
"Elyon?" Adam breathed.
"Oh sorry I didn't mean to startle you." Elyon apologised. "But what are you doing out so late?"
"Oh uh I just went out for a walk. What about you?" Adam then asked.
"Just walked back from the book store." Elyon explained. "I was with Cornelia and the others but they just..well vanished. I think they ditched me."
"Hey come on what makes you say that?" Adam asked.
"Because Cornelia's been doing it a lot lately, same with the other girls. I guess I'm just caught in the shuffles." Elyon voiced. "So I'm guessing you have problems too?"
"What makes you say that?" Adam asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well your alone and brooding by a tree." Elyon pointed out, "I've seen enough movies to know that means your brooding on something."
Adam had to admit he was impressed by her deduction skills. "Hmm now there's a surprise, but yeah I well recently got news from my parents back in my ki…uh home town and there's somethings going on that I feel I should be there for."
"Like what?" Elyon asked out of concern.
"Its complicated, but I don't know what to do. If I leave I abandon all my friends here but if I don't go I'm abandoning my obligations to those back home." Adam voiced. "I feel like there's no right choice."
Elyon looked rather sympathetic. "I know what you mean Adam sometimes I faced tough choices at school and at home, but you know what I do?"
"What?" Adam asked.
"I do what my heart tells me no matter what anyone else says, and if your not happy with it you can still undo it." Elyon said to him which did make him think a little.
"Anyway I better be getting home, see you at school?" Elyon asked.
Adam gave a smile. "Yeah see you at school." With that Elyon left which did make the Eternian Prince consider his thoughts. Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted when he heard the bushes rustling. He quickly drew his belt buckle which transformed into his Sword of Power.
He stood with his sword in a battle stance ready for anything. He slowly approached the bushes and as he got closer who should jump out but… "AH! Blunk!" Adam said in surprise.
Blunk landed in front of him rather panicked. "Big trouble come!"
Vandom Residence:
Meanwhile Will was still working at her desk but was really prodding her toy frog which squeaked.
"And the square root of the boring part is equal to the sum of the boring tedious…" Will muttered in utter boredom until she heard a knock on the window she turned round and to her shock she saw Adam and Blunk in her window. In shock she quickly went over and opened the window.
"Adam? Blunk? How'd you two get up here?" Will whispered so her mother didn't hear.
"Climbed up the uh,fire escape I think it's called." Adam replied and Blunk nodded.
"Yes it is but…It's twenty stories?" Will questioned.
"Yeah well your doorman wasn't very reasonable, that and being trained by Man At Arms helps." Adam explained gesturing to his clothes being a bit dirty from climbing the wall.
"So what's up?" Will wondering what reason Adam had knocking like this.
Adams eyes then turned serious. "We got trouble."
The Silver Dragon:
Will, Adam, Blunk and Cringer were with Miss Lin in the basement as she was doing some ironing. They had just finished explaining what Blunk had told them transpired at the bookstore. The Sorceress was also present with her astral form projected from the mirror.
"Ah from all Blunk described it must be an inversion point." Miss Lin told them.
"What's an Inversion point?" Adam asked.
"An inversion point is a weak point between the veil and the realms it is guarding, which means it is likely that Orko and the other Guardians have been transported to Meridian." The Sorceress explained.
"So does it work both ways can they get back?" Will asked.
"It depends what's on the other side." Yan Lin explained. "But Will without you and the Heart they have no powers."
"And if Phobos finds them they won't be able to defend themselves." Adam realised.
"Oh n..no!" Cringer trembled.
Just then the door swung open showing Caleb in his apron holding a steak in his plate. ""This steak has been on the floor!"" Caleb imitated a customer who he served the steak to. "How could she know I did that?" He asked holding up said steak with a foot print in it.
"Caleb, there's trouble." Miss Lin told him.
"Girls and Orko, then no girls and Orko." Blunk snapped his fingers.
"So what did Orko do now?" Caleb asked.
"Hey this one wasn't his doing its an Inversion point, and you should cut Orko a break, sure his magic isn't perfect but he always comes through in the end." Adam said defending his friend.
"Okay geez sorry." Caleb said.
"Blunk can you take us to the bookstore?" Will asked.
"Yes take you no problem." Blunk nodded.
"Then you must go with all haste there's no time to lose." The Sorceress urged.
"Okay me Caleb, Will and Blunk will go to the bookstore and this Inversion point." Adam then turned to his fearless friend. "Cringer since we don't want to spook the owner your staying here with Miss Lin."
"Sounds good to me!" Cringer smiled knowing that for once he was sitting this one out.
Meridian: The Labyrinth:
Taranee, Cornelia, Hay Lin, Irma and Orko continued their trek through the maze of bookshelves to find a way out. However this time they had help, they were leaving a long line of thread behind them, and the source much to Cornelia's dismay was her sweater which Taranee was unravelling.
"All those nights on a hand-carved cedar sweater hanger, for nothing!" Cornelia whined in dismay.
"Oh quit complaining Corny we'll get you a new one later." Irma said resulting in a glare from the complaining blonde.
Hay Lin then walked next to Orko who was floating a little sadly. "Hey why the long face little guy?"
Orko sighed. "Oh I'm just so useless I can't even conjure up a spell to get us out of this maze I just cause nothing but problems." He said with a tear in his eye.
"Orko don't say that you don't cause problems, sure your magic goofs sometimes but it helps us too." Hay Lin told him. "I mean remember when we were trapped at the Abyss of shadows your magic light show saved us and He-Man not to mention you saved us from Cedric with your magic fireworks and even the Shadow Beasts."
The Trollan did think back to those events and he had to admit Hay Lin was right. "Yeah, yeah I did." He said a little perked up.
"There you go and don't worry about your magic, I mean that string inspired the idea thats helping us now." Hay Lin said to him smiling.
"Thats good?" Orko asked confused.
"Its progress, you'll get better sometimes it's all about belief." Hay Lin told him confidently. Which did make the wizard perk up a bit. Cornelia was starting to fall behind the rest of the group.
"What did that Theseus guy find at the end of his maze, anyway?" Cornelia then asked just for the sake of changing the subject.
"Oh A murderous monster with the head of a bull." Hay Lin simply said.
"Yeah apparently it wasn't fond of intruders." Orko then joked.
The blonde let out a rather sarcastic giggle, when suddenly she heard a growling echo through the air of the maze. She screamed and ran to catch up with the group.
"Come on Cornelia it could be worse it could be Skeletor at the end of this maze and he's worse than a Minator." Orko said floating next to the said blonde.
"Hey Orko did He-Man and you ever face anything that wasn't Skeletor?" Irma asked out of interest.
"Well unless you count the time we fought Count Marzo, and oh yeah and some giants that got the better of Buzz Off and stole a crystal that was needed for a kingdoms crops. But don't tell him I said that. That and theres Evil Seed." Orko then told them as they wandered down the endless maze.
"So Phobos is a new one for you guys." Hay Lin asked.
"Yeah pretty much." Orko shrugged.
Heatherfield: Earth:
Back on Earth, Blunk lead Adam, Caleb and Will to the book store. "So where in the bookstore did they disappear?" Caleb asked.
"Blunk said in the back." Will answered. Adam's sword was strapped to his back just in case as they headed to the back of the store. They saw Blunk on the book shelf where the girls had disappeared. "Where?" She asked.
"Nowhere, that's problem." Blunk answered.
"Where were there no girls and Orko?" Caleb asked.
"Everywhere no girls and Orko!" Blunk answered.
"Blunk you're gonna have to be more specific maybe point where?" Adam suggested.
Blunk replied by gesturing to the book shelf in front of them, it was then Will noticed certain books on the shelf. "Guys look."
Caleb and Adam looked at the shelf and saw a familiar looking language on the books. "No way its the writing of the beasts, the same one we saw before." Adam realised.
"But this is an Earth bookstore? What would texts from Meridian be doing here?" Caleb asked.
"I don't know, but isn't it a bit of a coincidence an inversion point happens to be here in this store?" Adam wondered starting to put the pieces together.
Will took a closer look at the writing but suddenly after a blast of air she felt dizzy and would've fallen if Adam hadn't caught her.
"Will, you okay?" Adam asked concerned.
"I just felt…dizzy." Will asked. "It felt like someone stepped on my grave." She then reached to touch the book and then in a split second she and everyone around her minus Blunk vanished.
"Blunk look this way, then that way, then…" Blunk suddenly realised too late that the others had disappeared too. "AHH! No Caleb or He-Man!"
The Labyrinth: Meridian:
What felt like hours had passed, Orko and the girls had been wandering through the twists and turns of the maze. Now they needed to figure out which way to go next.
"I say that way." Cornelia pointed to the right.
"Uh-uh." Taranee tugged on the thread from what was left of Cornelia's sweater showing where they'd been. "We went that way."
"And this way." Irma looked back and saw their thread line across from them.
"Gah this is hopeless we are going in circles!" Cornelia complained. "We're lost!"
Just then Orko caught sight of something. "Hey." He said and floated over to another hallway that had no line at all, he could faintly make out a light at the end of the hallway. "We haven't gone this way." He pointed.
The girls nodded and headed down the path that the wizard pointed out, as Taranee continued to leave a thread trail behind them. Until finally.
The thread ran out, so Taranee simply dropped the thread on the ground and followed the others down the hallway. They soon arrived in a completely different room it was a library but completely different from what they left behind. There was a fire place with two chairs in front of it. The gothic and eerie architecture, atmosphere and statues around the pillars were rather intimidating.
Orko shivered as he stayed close to Taranee. "Wow You'd think a guy who read all these books would be teaching evil by now." Irma wondered.
"Reminds me of that book uh Gotham Academy I think." Hay Lin wondered about where she'd seen something like this before.
Orko floated around and looked at some of the books on the shelf. "Hmm..evil 101, getting to know your inner villain, Skeletors guide to villainy." Orko read in a joking way which did make Hay Lin giggle.
Just then Orko sniffed and caught a scent, it wasn't bad but it smelt good. "Hey you guys smell that?"
Cornelia sniffed around and she could sense what Orko was talking about. "Yeah it..it smells like..bread." She said and noticed a large door to the right and went to open it. "Over here!" She called and so they went through the door.
What they found led them out of the library and into a medieval styled kitchen. Inside the cooks and chefs were cooking and baking bread in the ovens and even cooking meat on a stick over roaring flames. They were so busy they didn't even notice the girls and Orko descending down the stairs.
"Wow, good thing Ram Mans not here he'd eat this whole place out of bread and food." Orko said to the girls.
"Shh." Cornelia said to him, however still no-one noticed their presence, except for one kitchen maid who gasped the moment she saw them.
"You can't be here!" The maid said looking around to make sure there was no guards around. "Follow me." She gestured leading them through another door out of the kitchen.
Back in the Labyrinth Adam, Caleb and Will had appeared in the same place the girls did, and soon Adam found a piece of thread on the ground.
"What's this?" Caleb asked.
"Its thread." Adam noticed then saw the colour of it. "Hold on wasn't Cornelia's sweater this colour?"
"What do you thinks on the other end of it?" Caleb asked as Will reached into her pocket and pulled out the Heart of Kandrakar.
"My guess, Orko laughing at a very unhappy Cornelia." Will said.
"Well at least we have a trail to follow." Adam realised. "But we better be ready there could be danger in here." He drew his sword and looked to Will who nodded in agreement.
"Guardians, wherever you are, let me find you safe." She said as she tapped into the hearts power and began to transform.
Without having to think twice Adam raised his sword. "BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!"
The sword hilt unlocked and the power surged from Grayskull on Eternia and blasted into the Labyrinth striking the sword tip. Caleb was blinded from the light from the two of them as they transformed. Seconds later Will was fully transformed into her Guardian form and Adam was now fully transformed into He-Man.
"I…HAVE…THE POWER!" He-Man proclaimed.
The group then ran as fast as they could following the trail that their friends had left behind. They went round twisting and turning bends of the maze of book cases, they soon found the hallway that lead to the exit. Little did they know as they entered the library a certain Prince of Evil was waiting for them.
"YOU!" Phobos exclaimed.
"Phobos!" He-Man exclaimed. The dark prince shot a blast of powerful magic at his hated enemies Will and Caleb shot in different directions as He-Man slashed his sword deflecting the blast right into the opposite wall.
"We have no time for you Phobos stand aside!" He-Man pointed his sword at the dark prince.
"You will not escape me this time fools!" Phobos growled. Caleb ran past He-Man.
"Caleb! Get back!" Will exclaimed.
"No! Never back!" Caleb ran to the rolling library ladder and rode on it closer to Phobos who simply smirked in anticipation. Caleb leaped trying to attack only for Phobos to trap him in a psychic grip and tossed him into the opposite chair.
Phobos was ready to strike the rebel down until Will swooped in and blasted him into the wall with a powerful blast from the heart itself. Will flew over cautiously only for Phobos to suddenly appear behind her catching her off guard and he trapped her in his phsychic grip and was reaching for the Heart of Kandrakar.
"Let her go Phobos!" He-Man lunged at him yelling with his sword. Phobos quickly drew a large looking sword which clashed with He-Mans as they pushed back against each other.
"You meddled in my affairs long enough! I do not know where you come from but your not wanted here!" Phobos yelled,He-Man growled and pushed back breaking the princes sword in half and then punched him into a nearby book case as books fell which caused him to release his grip on Will.
"I may not be wanted but I am needed and I will not rest until this world is free from your madness." He-Man said to him. "We will find the true heir to the throne and when we do you will fall!"
Phobos lunged at the champion with a new sword and slashed at him as their swords clashed. "You let these people suffer how many are you going to sacrifice for your own selfish desires!" He-Man questioned.
"As many as it takes!" Phobos yelled. "I have more ambition as a ruler but my parents never saw that!" His sword clashed against He-Man and unleashed a blast upon him blasting him back. "But I showed them my place in my world one they had no place in!"
Calebs eyes widened in horror, he heard a rumour about the former king and queen but never thought Phobos was the one who orchestrated it. Will was equally shocked and knew she couldn't let He-Man fight him alone.
"Y..you didn't!" He-Man realised in horror.
Phobos unleashed a powerful blast upon the champion, but he blocked it with his sword. Phobos was about to strike again until Will swooped in and gave him a powerful spin kick pushing him back. The dark prince got back up but before he did, He-Man landed a powerful punch to the princes gut so hard a loud boom could be heard throughout the castle. Phobos was catapulted into a book case which fell on him soon after trapping him under a pile of books.
"Whoa." Will breathed in surprise.
"Heh I guess it is true what they say. Print is dead." He-Man said.
"Nice hit." Caleb smirked. "Come on!" He said as he lead He-Man and Will out of the library. Soon after they left, the guards and Lord Cedric appeared in the library and emerging from the book case and books was Phobos himself enraged with fury.
"My prince are you alright?" Cedric asked.
"GAH! The Guardian leader, the rebel and He-Man are here!" Phobos exclaimed. "How did they get in without being seen!"
"I know not my prince, but if they are here the others are close by I shall hunt them down myself!" Cedric growled.
"NO! That task will be left to a more skilled hunter." Phobos declared. "Send out the Tracker have him hunt them down and bring me the Heart of Kandrakar with He-Mans head!"
Outside the castle grounds the kitchen maid later known as Trill who helped the guardians and Orko escaped brought them to the village and around a roaring fire. Other villagers played music. The four girls and Trollan had sat down wrapped in blankets and had food and drink with them.
"Wow I haven't eaten a good meal like this back on Eternia." Orko said enjoying his food.
"This is wonderful food. I'm afraid we can't eat it all." Taranee told Trill who approached the group.
"Once you told us you were the Guardians, everybody brought something." Trill happily explained.
"Oh they're the guardians I'm just a wizard." Orko said simply.
"Any ally of the Guardians should deserve such as well." Trill said. "I must say its been a long time since a Trollan has been seen in Meridian ever since Phobos took the throne."
"There's been Trollans here?" Orko wondered as he thought he was the only one to have left his home when he landed on Eternia.
"Indeed, but tell me Guardians, why did you come here from Earth in human form." Trill then asked the girls.
"Well, believe it or not, we were looking for a history book." Hay Lin explained. "We got here totally by accident."She then took a bite of her bread.
"Let me refill your drinks." Trill offered and she went to get a water pitcher.
Hay Lin looked around and saw that no-one else was eating the feast. "Why isn't anyone else eating?" She wondered.
"Uh… Hay Lin… I think this may be all the food they have." Cornelia said.
"Oh." Orko said as he put his food down realising the food offered to them was the little food the villagers had but given so generously to them. Hay Lin and the girls felt equally guilty about all this.
"Kinda puts a lost essay into perspective." Taranne said rather ashamed that all this time she'd been fussing about an essay while here these people were suffering under a tyrant day after day.
Trill soon returned with a jug of water and began refilling their drinks. "When Phobos took the throne, a light went out over this land. Our men are jailed, our crops are stolen, we have no security. Nothing for ourselves but our dreams."
"How could he do this he's even worse than Skeletor!" Orko said narrowing his eyes.
"I know not, the princes parents loved him and groomed him to be the best he could be. But it was never enough as being the eldest child he felt more entitled to the throne rather than his sister." Trill told him.
"Wait hold on if Phobos was the elder sibling why does his sister inherit the throne?" Orko asked a little confused.
"Yeah doesn't the older sibling inherit first?" Taranee asked given she's read about old monarchs of the past.
"Meridian is a matrilineal succession kingdom ruled by queens for generations so only the daughter can inherit the claim to the throne." Trill explained.
"Oh I see smart choice." Cornelia said.
"I hear things working in the castle some say Phobos was so angered of what was taken from him that he orchestrated a coup killing his parents and his obstacle was his sister." Trill said.
"He didn't!" Irma wondered with horror.
"No fortunately from what I understand someone had taken the princess out of the palace." Trill shifted her eyes then looking to the Guardians. "They say Phobos's sister still lives on the other side of the veil. Could this be true?"
"Probably why else send his monsters to Earth other than to deal with us?" Irma asked.
"If only you could find her first." Trill urged. "For years, we've suffered under Phobos, forced to work for a pittance in his castle, his stables, his mines. We always have hope but sometimes I fear we hope in vain."
"We'll find her and bring her back here. We promise you." Irma said in seriousness.
"Yeah and we'll kick Phobos's butt out of power, between the Guardians and He-Man we'll put an end to it all, so hold on to your hopes and dreams its all about belief!" Orko then declared, and Hay Lin smiled at the trollan it sounds like he'd taken her words to heart.
"But one thing still doesn't click." Cornelia then said. "Why would Phobos look for someone who might replace him? It just doesn't make any sense."
This did raise questions among the group, however before any more could be said….A loud inhuman growling sound echoed everywhere. Everyone present looked in horror as standing near the bonfire was pure horror. Standing there was a zombified monster wearing a teathered robe with a witches hat on his head. His face blared red eyes and a monstrous face.
By his side was his pet a dog like beast with the nose of a pig and sharp bladed fangs for teeth. The villagers all but screamed at the very sight of him.
"That is so not what I wanted to see." Cornelia said Orko gulped in fright as the monster wielded its weapon a powerful mace with a glowing green rock as the spikes.
"THE TRACKER RUN!" Trill screamed and the villagers ran for dear life as the Tracker spun his mace and smashed the fire in the centre of the camp. The girls and Orko ran or flew from the area for dear life.
"Into the forest its too dense for him to follow!" Irma exclaimed. The girls and Trollan ran for their lives with the hunter of darkness and his pet right behind them. They slid down the hill to try and out run their pursuer gaining on them. Orko had to do something quick, he used his magic and blasted it at a tree, and it began to grow blocking the route off.
"Okay not what I was going for but it works!" Orko mused.
"Come on!" Cornelia grabbed the wizards hand and ran away.
However a simply tree roadblock was nothing to this hunter, he used his mace and smashed the tree in half clearing his way through. He scoured the area but it looked like his prey disappeared, however the Tracker and his pet were undeterred and as he swung his mace his pet sniffed for their scent.
The girls and Orko meanwhile had gotten enough distance to take cover in an old fallen tree. "Yikes I didn't know Skeletor had an ugly zombie brother!" Cornelia just put her hand over where Orko's mouth would be.
"Shush it might hear us!"She whispered.
"Do you think he can find us in here?" Hay Lin asked.
"With that nose? It looked like he could find us in China!" Taranee exclaimed.
They suddenly heard the sounds of foot steps and a swinging chain. They knew it was The Tracker, they got closer together as the Trackers beast smelt the air trying to catch their scents. For one the girls were terrified, and Orko shivered he wasn't sure what to do. The Trackers gaze turned towards the old destroyed tree and went closer to it. The small wizard was more terrified then saw a rock close to his robe. Irma saw that Orko was looking at something and saw the stone, then an idea popped in her head.
She grabbed it and tossed it away from the tree, the crashing sounds of the rock caught the Trackers attention and turned his gaze to where the stone was.
"Whew that was close." Orko breathed.
"Yeah saw it in a movie once." Irma breathed with relief. "Come on!" She said and the group hurried away from the area as fast as they could. They continued through the forest believing they evaded the hunter. Suddenly a certain mace smashed into a tree they were passing causing them to scream in fright, they saw the Tracker was behind them and his pet gave chase to the fleeing group.
They ran and ran but their pursuer was relentless. "We can't keep running." Irma panted. "We gotta go up."
"How we don't have our powers!" Taranee panicked.
"Over there!" Orko called and they saw a rather large looking tree. The girls ran to the tree for dear life.
"How do we know it can't climb?" Cornelia exclaimed.
"We don't!" Irma replied. So the girls had no choice but to climb up the tree. However Hay Lin was slower than the others as the dog got closer and closer. She tried to climb the tree but the dog juts grabbed her by the bottom of her pants with its teeth.
"AH!" She cried.
"Hay Lin!" Orko exclaimed.
"I can't reach!" She cried as the dog was pulling her back. The small wizard couldn't stand by and watch this.
"Come on magic just this once, please!" Orko pleaded quietly. He quickly flew down near Hay Lin. "My friend needs a lift then give her an air lift!" He proclaimed as magic surged from his fingers.
Suddenly a gust of wind blew up right under neath the air guardian catapulting her up the tree blowing the dog clear off tearing off the bottom of her jeans. Orko grabbed her hand and pulled her onto the upper tree trunk.
"I..I did it!" Orko cheered. "My magic worked!"
"Oh thank you thank you Orko!" Hay Lin instantly pulled the small wizard into a hug. However the danger wasn't over yet.
The Tracker used his mace to smash off one of the tree branches forcing the group to go higher into the tree. "Less hugging more climbing!" Irma exclaimed.
Suddenly the dog tried to reach for Hay Lin again only for Orko to pull out of his robe a scepter which he swung at him knocking him off the branch. "Bad dog!" Orko exclaimed as he joined the girls higher up in the Tracker swung his mace again and again pruning the tree of its branches until the girls and wizard were at the very top of the tree.
"Where to now?" Cornelia asked as she grasped the branch.
"We're trapped!" Orko exclaimed.
"Can we jump to another tree? Like, a shorter one?" Taranee wondered.
"Not unless you have wings like Startos!" Orko exclaimed.
The Tracker swung his mace at his pray however it just missed the top branch and couldn't go any higher. "We're safe here. I think." Hay Lin said.
"Ha ha not so tough when you can't fly!" Orko exclaimed to the Tracker in a child like fashion.
However this hunter had more than a few tricks up his sleeves or rather his robes. For he opened his robe and flying out were swarms of bat like creatures with glowing red eyes. They swarmed the tree and used the claws in their feet to scratch away at the bark of the tree like millions of saws.
"You were saying!" Irma said to Orko who could only cling to her out of fright as the bats cut the tree to just its weak centre. "Looks like you're gonna be in a shorter tree after all."
"I can't believe I was worried about my sweater!" Cornelia exclaimed as the tree began to fall over. The girls screamed in fright in a desperate attempt Orko unleashed a blast of magic from his hand right into the sky as it exploded in fireworks. Cornelia nearly slipped from the tree but Irma grabbed her.
The Tracker swung his mace ready to capture his prey when just as the tree was about to hit the ground. A bright pink light emerged from the sky and the girls were caught in its energy tendrils. They were surrounded with their respective auras.
The source was Will who flew over the group with the heart shining. "GUARDIANS UNITE!" She cried.
One by one the four girls assumed their guardian forms.
"Water!" Irma exclaimed.
"Fire" Taranee exclaimed.
"Earth!" Cornelia exclaimed.
"Air!" Hay Lin exclaimed.
Orko looked with hope then to the Tracker. "Oh you are so screwed now!" He cheered.
The girls flew up to Will. "Will oh are we glad to see you!How did you find us?" Hay Lin asked.
"Are you kidding? There's a trail of monster dog slobber all the way from the castle." Will chuckled. "Plus Orko did give a pretty big signal flare." Suddenly though the reunion was short lived. "Look out!"
The Trackers mace suddenly wrapped itself around Wills leg she yelped as the hunter started to pull her down. "Help!" She cried, however the more she struggled the more trouble she was in as the Tracker pulled her closer and closer.
"Hey ugly!" But help is at hand in the form of a fist to the Trackers zombified face compliments of He-Man which sent the tracker flying across the ground and into a rock.
"He-Man!" The girls cheered. Will managed to free her leg from the mace and tossed it to the ground.
The Tracker looked up and saw the champion of Grayskull draws his sword. "You know I don't appreciate it when someone tries to hurt my friends!" The Tracker growled in inhuman fury as he drew his mace and swung it round and around. He-Man soon found himself surrounded by the Guardians.
"I don't know about you guys, but I think it's payback time!" Irma smirked cracking her knuckles.
"Then let's see what happens when this hunter becomes the hunted!" Will agreed.
"Great minds think alike Guardians!" He-Man agreed and the group charged forwards, while the Tracker simply snarled and from his robe unleashed the horde of bats.
However He-Man was swift he twirled his sword in front of him like a helicopter blade and the incoming bats were sliced apart. Which left the Tracker venerable to attack.
"Air!" Hay Lin exclaimed unleashing a blast of air.
"Water!" Irma unleashed a flood of water and the two streams of elemental powers crossed and formed an ice floor on the ground causing the Tracker to slip and lose his footing and slip.
Then it was Cornelia's turn and she touched the ground with her palm unleashing a horde of vines. However the Tracker wasn't about to let plants out wit him. He swung his mace and smashed the vines to pieces, his gaze then turned to the Earth Guardian herself, he swung the mace and trapped her arms in its chains. Cornelia screamed in fright as the Tracker started pulling her to him.
All of a sudden Caleb ran in and tackled the Tracker to the ground releasing his mace as they fell to the ground. "Didn't your parents ever teach you any manners, course with your face I can never tell."
The Hunter growled as he got up, however he didn't attack, for then an unforeseen force tackled the rebel leader to the ground. Caleb saw it was the Trackers pet who snarled as he tried to bite his head off but Caleb blocked his jaws with a tree branch nearby. He struggled to keep the mongrel off him.
The Tracker then swung his mace towards the Guardians again while they remained in the sky to avoid it. As the Trackers mace glowed with power he tossed it at the girls. However what it wrapped around wasn't the girls, it was the blade of a certain sword.
He-Man stood in front of the girls. "You want to play a tug of war?!" He exclaimed and The Tracker tried pulling the chain back but he couldn't for his strength was nothing to that of He-Man. The champion smirked as he grabbed the chain with his free hand.
"Okay you lose!" He pulled on the chain yanking the hunter forwards the chain unraveled on the sword and He-Man swung the chain with the Tracker on the end round and around and around like a spinning wheel. Until finally he let go catapulting the Tracker into the air with a loud boom.
Will flew ahead of the tracker and then swatted him away with a fearsome kick to the face sending him crashing down to the ground.
Caleb was still trying to fight off the demonic hound, as it snarled and tried to bite his face off. "Gah this would be easier if Battle Cat was here!" He struggled until finally he kicked the demon dog off him. The hound snarled as it circled its prey. Caleb stood with noting but an oaken branch as a weapon. The beast lunged at Caleb as Cornelia looked in horror to see her friend at the mercy of this animal. When suddenly.
Orko flew in front of the rebel leader and with a wiggle of his fingers he used his magic to conjure up a bubble trapping the hound inside causing the beast to trip bouncing along the ground. Caleb saw the opening and kicked the bubble back towards its master.
"Nice one little guy." Caleb complimented.
"Thanks but thats just the opening act, time for the finale!" Orko said as he floated away.
The Tracker recovered but found himself surrounded by his enemies. "Taranee surround him!" Will called and with a nod, Taranee ignited her hands in fire.
"Fire!" The Fire Guardian unleashed her power and surrounded the hunter with a circle of fire. There was no escape, and then Orko floated in above the hunter.
"Your done trying to hurt my friends you bully!" Orko exclaimed and started summoning his magic as he recited his spell. "This hunter is causing trouble…lock him inside…a bubble!"
In seconds the Tracker was trapped inside one of Orko's magic bubbles. He then looked to Cornelia. "Hey Cornelia give him a lift!"
Cornelia could see what the small wizard wanted her to do, so she slammed her hand into the ground and from the crumbling earth erupted many roots. Several of them grabbed the bubbles that trapped the Tracker and his pet, and erupting from the ground below was a massive tree root which grew to a great hight just above the tree canopy. They formed a great tree with the two bubbles above many leaves.
Soon Orko was surrounded by applause from the Guardians as he hovered down to them. "Nice work, your best trick yet Orko." Cornelia complimented.
"Eh no problem it really is about belief." Orko said bashfully.
"Yes and the belief in your friends. "He-Man agreed as he was then hugged by Hay Lin.
"Thanks for coming to look for us guys." Hay Lin said happily.
"No problem Hay Lin, we're a team we never leave friends behind." Will said as she landed on the ground next to the Champion.
"Yes after all you four saved me and Will before so now we save you." He-Man agreed. "That is what friends do."
"Yeah but if you want to thank anyone thank Orko, he saved me from the Tracker, not to mention gave Taranee the idea to navigate the labyrinth." Hay Lin then said gesturing to the small wizard.
Orko just twitched his ears blushing. "Aw i..it was nothing its just like protecting Castle Grayskull." He said.
"So does this mean you still plan to go back to Eternia?" Hay Lin asked much to the surprise of the group.
"Back to Eternia? What is she talking about Orko?" He-Man asked.
"Well Grandma over heard him talking to the Sorceress and how he felt like he couldn't help. I didn't want to say anything so she asked me to keep it quiet." Hay Lin explained which did receive questioning eyes from everyone else, while Caleb who looked at the wizard in some shame and surprise he realised how much his words affected him.
"Uh..y..yeah I asked The Sorceress to send me back, but I changed my mind I can be useful if I just believe in myself and maybe I can help you." Orko then said with new found confidence.
"Of course you can Orko." Will said.
"Yeah I think He-Man and the Guardians of the Veil are gonna need all the help they can get from our faithful and brave wizard." Irma agreed.
"Yeah plus it wouldn't be the same without you around little guy." Cornelia agreed.
"Absolutely." Taranee agreed.
"Okay I guess you can be useful, and you are a great wizard don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Especially me." Caleb smiled.
"We'll always need you Orko, as long as you believe in yourself." Hay Lin said as she gave him a small peck on his cheek, and the Trollans face went as red as his hat and robes.
"Aww geez guys." Orko blushed.
"So how do we get back home? Cause I don't think going in the way we came is a good idea." Irma wondered.
"We'll locate a new portal and head back home through there." Will then said.
"So need a lift?" Cornelia asked Caleb.
"Thanks I'll walk." He cracked.
So the group left the Tracker and his pet hanging, quite literally and headed for the green depths of the forest to locate a nearby portal.
"Hey He-Man we met some villagers, while we were here." Orko said floating next to him as they walked.
"Yeah they helped us escape the Castle." Cornelia added.
"I…I just can't stop thinking about how horrible their lives are under Phobos." Hay Lin shivered a little.
"They gave us their own food." Taranee agreed.
"I just don't see how anyone like Phobos can be so heartless to rule his people like a tyrant!" Irma agreed almost infuriated.
"Do not be angered Irma." He-Man told her. "For power is a tempting thing and can corrupt even the most noble of people, but Phobos has become blind by his own ambitions and his lust for power. Seeing these people is a reminder of the freedom that we fight for, and as long as we are here there is hope."
"He's right and don't worry they're good people." Caleb said. "In the days ahead you'll have plenty of chances to repay them."
"Caleb." Cornelia then said. "The villagers said something about Phobos leading a coup where his parents were killed and took the throne is that true?" She asked which did surprise Will, He-Man and Caleb.
"I wouldn't know, but during the fight in the library he said how he showed them his place in the world where they had no place in it. So I wouldn't put it past him." Caleb said.
"So he could've killed his own parents?" Orko wondered.
"Maybe which means finding the true heir to the throne first is more important than ever." He-Man said.
"All of us?" Will wondered given how torn the champion looked between Eternia and Meridian. He gazed at the reflection of his sword.
"Today I have been questioning where I should be to save one world to abandon another." He-Man said. "But after these events I know that my obligations don't end at the boarders of Eternia, the day I took on this sword I swore to vanquish evil wherever it hides, no matter what world I'm on." The girls listened to him well. "I will return to Eternia and deal with the unrest there one day, but for now my place is here. With all of you." He finished with a smile.
The girls all looked with warming smiles of their own. "And we'll all be right there with you." Will smiled as everyone gathered in a warm group hug.
The following day: Heatherfield: Earth:
The following morning at the Sheffield Institute all was calm and normal. Cornelia was walking in the school courtyard when suddenly. "Hey, Cornelia!" Called a voice and she saw Elyon coming up to her. "Where'd you go yesterday? You just left me in that store."
Cornelia then realised that they would've left Elyon alone after stumbling upon the Inversion point to Meridian. "Oh, Elyon I am so sorry. My mind was in another world." She apologised.
"You've been doing this a lot." Elyon said as the two started walking together. "Are we best friends or what?"
"Of course we are!" Cornelia insisted. "Come on, let me buy you a doughnut." she rushed ahead to the cafeteria.
"You know I don't eat doughnuts." Elyon reminded her.
"Yeah, but there's a really cute guy serving." Cornelia then said in a hinting tone.
"Oh now you have my attention wait up!" Elyon said happily as she caught up with her friend.
Meanwhile Taranee was arriving at a certain classroom where she ran into a certain clumsy teacher. "I apologise." She said.
"For what?" The teacher asked.
"Making such a big deal out of a silly essay, asking the Principal to suspend you without pay." Taranee explained as she had made some complaints to the principal.
"What?" The teacher asked but then realised. "Oh no Taranee if anything I should be the one apologising." He said reaching into his case.
"For what?" Taranee asked.
"For putting your essay in my fridge and bringing a pound of ham to school. Here." He explained and handed Taranee said pound of ham instead of her essay, realising his mistake he pulled out the paper and handed it to Taranee. "A perfect paper. Your description of the Labyrinth, it's almost as if you were there." He said walking away.
"Yeah..heh almost." Taranee said not knowing how right he really was.
The Silver Dragon:
Caleb was serving customers at the restaurant again, and after a rather convincing lecture from Yan Lin he had a more positive attitude to the customers. Yan Lin watched from behind the fishtank.
"Have you had a chance to look at the menu?" He asked politely handing the female customer the menu, but when she looked inside her face turned to a look of fright as she screamed. Yan Lin looked shocked as she came over to see what was the matter.
Caleb looked at the menu and saw what the problem was. "Blunk." He sighed as it would seem that a picture of Blunks face against the photocopier earlier.
"Never fear Orko is here." Just then Orko, now in his disguise came up with a trolley of menus. He handed one to the customer when she looked she saw the list of meals on them. "New menus at the ready." Orko said.
"Uh…" She questioned as when she turned it round they saw the words were upside down.
"Oops." Orko grimaced.
"Ah don't worry little guy we all make mistakes." Caleb chuckled as he ruffled his head.
Later that Night: Silver Dragon Basement:
"You say this inversion point was located in this Earth book store?" The Sorceress asked, Adam had explained what had happened after the events of their return and his suspicions.
"Yeah and I don't think it's a coincidence that it's there." Adam wondered. "I think we might have found where our hidden beast is hiding."
"Agreed, there are forces at work we do not understand, the mystery of the Inversion point must be answered." The Sorceress agreed.
"I've actually been thinking about that." Adam then said. "Beast Man somehow came here with the Shadow Beasts, could there be an Inversion point between Earth and Eternia?" Adam asked.
"It is highly unlikely Prince Adam, as Man At Arms suspected this is no doubt the work of Evil Lyn." The Sorceress replied on his theory. "I suspect I may know why, through my contemplation on the matter I believe that the awakening of the Heart of Kandrakar may have been sensed beyond the confines of the veil."
"So Skeletor may know of the Heart?" Adam asked. "But why I thought he wanted the power the Elders that lies in Grayskull?"
"Yes he does, but that does not mean the power of the heart can't be utilised to his you will soon discover, the power of Grayskull and the power of the Heart of Kandrakar both share the similar degree of power." The Sorceress explained and Adam grew a look of concern, he knew the crystal was powerful but he didn't know it was powerful enough to rival that of the power of Grayskull.
"You and the Guardians must be on your guard…" The Sorceress warned.
Meanwhile: Vandom Residence:
Everywhere in the Vandom household was quiet and Will had now turned in for the night fast asleep in her bed. The heart of Kandrakar was hanging from her bedside draw knob as it glowed slightly. Outside a lonely figure watched the building from an alleyway. He was a cloaked figure but it was a short looking old man with black hair with a red cloak and medieval looking clothes.
"For I fear our worlds our colliding in ways we can never imagine."
The old man looked at a small looking shard in his hand as it glowed and looked to what it pointed to. He gave a rather sadistic smirk. "At last I have found the power that shall make me whole again. Soon all will fear the name of Marzo once again!"
Lightning boomed across the nights sky as a new evil foe had found its way to old enemy long since defeated.
Moral:
In the school courtyard Taranee sat at a bench close to the statue, she was reading a book about ancient history and had a number of them with her sitting next to her.
"People say I'm a bit of a book worm, and they'd probably be right." Taranee said looking to the fourth wall. "But sometimes it's not a bad thing, a wise man once said knowledge is power, and as we saw in todays story,my knowledge of the labyrinth was what helped us out of a tricky situation." She closed the book and set it aside. "But its also about the belief in ones abilities to use that knowledge, so study hard and believe in yourself. You never know one day that knowledge could very well save your life." She explained.
"Until next time." Taranee smiled as she put her head into reading another book.
Authors Notes: A..nd scene! Man this was a long one but now the Guardians and He-Man have learned of the existence of the Inversion Point at the book store where Cedric was hiding, but it would seem Skeletor is taking advantage of He-Man's absence from Eternia but he may not be the only evil looking for the power of the Heart of Kandrakar.
Now onto the next chapter where the Guardians meet another foe of He-Mans who was thought to be long defeated how he's on Earth is a mystery but soon all will be revealed. I will try and update soon, until next time.
BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!
