It was a warm, and peaceful day at the academy. What was heading over was a fleet of helicopters, and ships toward Academy Island.
"Attention all craft, I know it's been a long journey fighting off intruders, taking on attack sups, and seems like the world is trying to infeltratie our defenses. But..." Seeing the island the captain finished. "It's about to all pay off."
Approaching the island the captain held up a suitcase showing the Duel Academy symbol, and announced, "We reached our final objective with the payload safe. So full steam ahead men this is the moment we've been waiting for. The moment Duel Academy gets there new rare cards!"
It was a peaceful morning after that big experience where Frisk, and the other three are having breakfast together when she overheard some of the girls chatting about 'promotional exams'. "Promotional exams?"
"It's a test to see if you change dorms." Jasmine explained. "If you do well you can promoted from Slifer or Ra, but if you do really badly you can get demoted."
"But... We're Obelisks though. What would happen if we do well?" Frisk asked over confused what happens then if there already the top ranks.
"Well, the exam is mostly a formality for us since girls can only be in Obelisk Blue, but if the boys do well they stay in Obelisk since its the top dorm." Mindy answered. "I usually end up dueling Jasmine though, we're pretty even so the matches are mostly just for small things we figure out later."
Frisk nodded understanding that. "So... what do we have to do?"
"A written test, and then a practical exam, in other words a duel against someone that's supposed to be around your skill level." Alexis answered. "Which basically means someone that's the same rank as you."
"Sounds like a waste of time if you ask me." Flowey frowned rolling his eyes.
"Since Obelisk is the only rank for us kinda but we still should attend for formality." Jasmine admitted over agreeing with Flowey that with no other dorms this be wasting time but should still attend.
"Plus we can support the others." Alexis nodded before stretching. "We should head down so we're not late for the test... do you want anything for breakfast Frisk?"
"What's for today?" Frisk asked as they checked over the breakfast table.
Soon they arrived at Professor Banner's classroom where they started taking the written test only they see Jaden's seat is empty.
"Huh, shouldn't Jaden be here?" Frisk asked seeing that. "And... is it a good idea for Syrus to be sleeping through the test?"
"It's not like Jaden to be this late." Alexis admitted over. "Maybe he's taking care of something... And I'm worried for Syrus but let's not bother him out of consideration for the class." Syrus is fast asleep on his desk not taking the test which is why Frisk asked.
Frisk nodded looking at the test as she smiled seeing she knew a lot of the answers.
15 minutes into it she heard something, and turned seeing Jaden arrived over taking his seat which gotten Chazz to snap something over which Jaden argued it over which caught Banner's attention. "Oh Jaden? Why don't you come down here, and get your exam?"
Jaden chuckled nervously turning over calling over. "Be there in a jiff!" His call was loud to bother some of the students but they just gotten back to the test while some are in thought.
'Hopefully we're fifteen minutes into this thing. He'll be lucky to even finish.' Alexis thought.
'Look at him so tardy, so purail.' Bastion thought as Jaden walked back over. 'If only Jaden implied himself he could become a great duelist.'
'Jaden, I hope your alright.' Frisk thought over watching as Jaden sat back down. But no more then a couple of minutes later Frisk looked over seeing Jaden fell asleep with Syrus which made her shake her head with a soft chuckle. About 10 minutes later she raised her hand.
"Yes Miss Princeton?" Professor Banner asked calmly.
She raised up heading down. "Just letting you know, I'm done with my exam."
"Finished?" Banner asked surprised hearing that it took her nearly half the time for her to finish while some of the other students looked over surprised themselves.
"I just know a lot before I met Goat Mom, and the others. I still kept it up while I was staying with them." Frisk explained over having the test to him.
"I see, well thank you Frisk." Professor Banner smiled. "You're welcome to stay or you can leave but don't forget the practical exam is this afternoon."
"Of course. Good luck guys." she waved exiting the classroom while the classroom kept watching after her.
Checking the test over, Banner was pleasantly surprised to see that Frisk scored a 94% out of the short time she had. He smiled at that as he calmly watched the rest of the class to make sure nobody was cheating.
Meanwhile with Frisk...
She was heading back to the dorm only for an instructor to walk over to her. "Frisk Kumar, aren't you taking the written exam?"
"I'm already finished with it." Frisk explained over.
The instructor blinked but nodded. "I see, well the chancellor wanted to see you when you finished your exam."
Blinking hearing that Frisk asked over. "Why does he want to see me?"
"You have a visitor." the instructor explained as Frisk blinked before going to Chancellor Shepherd's office.
She softly knocked the door to the Chancellor's office after she arrived.
"Who is it?"
Frisk cleared her throat. "It's me sir, Frisk Kumar. You asked to see me when I'm done with my exams?"
"Ah yes, come in Frisk." Chancellor Shepherd smiled as Frisk walked in only to see Yugi, Kaiba, Serenity, and Mokuba were in the office.
"Uncle Seto, Uncle Yugi, Auntie Serenity, Uncle Mokuba!" Frisk cheered rubbing over, and hugging Yugi.
"Hi Frisk, how have you been?" Yugi asked hugging her back.
"You look good in blue." Mokuba grinned.
She pulled back smiling over. "Well it's the only rank girls can have, and... the girl uniform isn't like me." She was sheepish from that before looking over at them. "So... what brings you all here?"
"We came to see you." Serenity smiled warmly. "How are you liking Duel Academy?"
"It was amazing. Year started a little rocky but everything is going great." Frisk answered over with a smile before then blushing. "My new friends helped me... with my first... 'time of the month'."
Kaiba frowned at that. "I'm sorry... she should have helped you with that."
"It's okay. My roommates are great." Frisk assured them smiling.
"That's good, but actually that's not the only reason we're here." Yugi mentioned. "Today's your practical exam right, do you mind if we sit and watch?"
"Oh really?" Frisk asked shocked.
"Yup." Mokuba grinned. "You don't mind do you?"
"No I don't mind at all!" Frisk looks excited from it.
Kaiba smirked. "Well, I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do."
"Well, I think you should try and come up with some strategies for the practical exam, you never know what could happen." Serenity smiled playfully.
Frisk nodded excited before hugging Serenity, Mokuba, and Kaiba last before waving running off to get to work on her Deck for the duel.
"Should we have told her?" Serenity asked.
"She'll be fine." Kaiba smirked.
Frisk then decided to try getting some new cards from the card shop, and sees someone exiting it in a dark cloak. Checking over she sees it's all sold out making her frown before shrugging walking off back to where the monsters are staying to see them before she gets to planning.
"Hey guys!" She called out to them to greet.
"heya kiddo, how'd the test go?" Sans asked.
"I already passed it. Now I'm making sure my Deck is ready for the duel in mind." Frisk answered over. "Uncle Yugi, Seto, Mokuba, and Auntie Serenity will be seeing it."
"Huh, they all came to see you duel punk?" Undyne asked hearing that. "That's pretty special."
"AGREED, BUT I AM CERTAIN YOU WILL MAKE THEM PROUD HUMAN FRISK!" Papyrus declared enthusiastically.
"I hope so." Frisk admitted with a nervous smile getting on a table to start getting her Deck prepared.
"Would you like any help my child?" Toriel asked her curiously.
"I'd appreciate it Goat Mom but no... I want to manage this myself." Frisk said over towards her with a smile.
"Of course my child." Toriel smiled hugging her.
Meanwhile earlier with everyone else...
The students were all waiting outside the card shop in anticipation of the new rare cards that were being delivered. They are all waiting impatiently before SWAT Teams came in as they turned over moving out of the way where the captain from before was walking over. "Oh children? Looking for these?" He raised the briefcase making all of them cheer clapping over. He lifted the store's door opened before he turned back to the students walking in. "Come and get 'em."
At that the students can't wait. What kind of cards are there? Rare ones like Harpie's Feather Duster? Or powerful ones like Red Reboot? They all can't wait! However their hopes were shattered when the door was lifted all the way showing the case was empty with a sign beside it: ALL SOLD OUT.
Dumbfounded, and shocked one of the students questioned, "Hey where did they all go?"
"You know the rules first come first serve." The counter girl, Sadie explained gesturing to a cloaked figure.
"What!?" They glared at the figure at this.
"And I was first so I took every one." the figure smirked without a care.
"Hey come on man!"
"You can't just take them like that!"
"That's not fair!"
"You snooze you lose, I hope you didn't need any of these for the test." the cloaked figure laughed before walking off.
From this all the students left only for Syrus, and Jaden to run in to try getting a pack only to see the empty store, and they turned to each other before running to the counter, "Excuse me miss!?" Sadie turned over curiously as he asked, "Do you still have some cards left?"
"Only the normal booster packs." Sadie answered showing the beginner packs that were always available.
"We said some not one!" they both called from how small the pack is.
"I'm done for! I slept through the written test, and I'm gonna fail the duel exam too!" Syrus cried dismayed.
"Don't worry Syrus, you could do a great job." Jaden reassured him with a grin.
"Speak for yourself Jaden, I barely passed the entrance exam, I'm going to be kicked out of Duel Academy for sure." Syrus groaned.
"So take the pack Sy."
"Huh, but Jaden what about you?" Syrus asked hearing that.
"I'll be alright." Jaden said with a wink.
Syrus's eyes widened hearing that only for them to hear a voice.
"Is everything alright Sadie?" asked a voice Jaden recognized.
"Huh, oh it's you." he smiled seeing another woman walk up to Sadie. "Wait, what are you doing behind the counter?"
"Oh Jaden. I own this card shack, thank you again for earlier." the woman smiled named Ms. Dorothy. "Did I hear you two needed some cards for your exam?"
"Well yeah we came here but some guy took all the ones that came." Jaden answered.
"I see, well lucky for you I have a little something for generous young man who helps." Dorothy smiled.
"It was the least I could do, you needed help." Jaden smiled.
She smiled handing him a pack of cards.
"Wow thanks." Jaden grinned taking the pack. "Well this is gonna be an interesting day don't ya think Sy?"
"I hope so... honestly I just hope I don't mess up too badly." Syrus frowned.
"...And then this guy shows up, and took all the rare cards!" Taiyou told Chazz as they, and Raizou were in a school hallway which was empty explaining what happened. "I mean every one."
"So we couldn't get you any. Sorry Chazz."
Chazz turned to his friends with a disapproving glare, "You know what's sorry? You guys that's what but it doesn't matter. Because not one duelists can beat me no matter what card they have."
"Unless that duelist happens to be Jaden Yuki."
"What?" Chazz questioned turning to see the cloaked figure.
"That's the guy Chazz, he's the one who took all the rare cards!" Raizou frowned.
"Cards what cards?" The figure smirked. "Oh you mean these?"
He opened his cloak showing a total of 30 cards 15 on each side. From Draining Shield, to Pikeru's Circle of Enchantment, to Helpoemer, to Hammer Shot, and to Ojama King.
"Whoa now that's style." Raizou said in awe.
"Talk about having a card up your sleeve." Taiyou agreed also in awe.
The figure chuckled, "What's wrong Chazz? Don't recognize me? How bout now?"
He took his cloak off to reveal-
"Crowler!?"
"You know you look better all covered up." Chazz remarked.
Dr. Crowler fell back anime-style but decided to not care about it for once.
"Y-Yes well I have a plan to make us all look better, and make Jaden make the cut-rate duelist he truly is" Dr. Crowler started with his smirk. "I want you to be his opponent for his field test, and use all these rare cards to beat him."
"I can't duel Jaden in the exam." Chazz pointed out. "We're not in the same dorm."
"And who says you can? Me that's who!" Dr. Crowler pointed out that he can make the duel happen. "And you just make sure you have Jaden be shown his place in front of the Academy."
Chazz blinked before smirking at that. "Sounds good to me, but what about Frisk?"
"I'm not sure, Chancellor Shepherd said he had something in mind for her." Dr. Crowler answered.
There gonna figure that out sooner or later.
Later...
It was the afternoon where the students are taking there Dueling Practical Exams, and Dr. Crowler with Chancellor Sheppard, Yuzu, Banner, Fontaine, and the Ra Yellow Dorm Master, Sartyr were in a observing box to watch over where Sheppard said they have guests to watch the exams with them, and are waiting for those guests while the exams go on.
"M-Mr, and Mrs. Kaiba!? And Mr. Muto?" Dr. Crowler asked stunned seeing them.
"Yup, we came to watch the duels. Do you mind?" Serenity asked smiling.
"No of course not. If I had known you four be watching, I've prepared some needed things." Dr. Crowler admitted over.
"It's fine, im looking forward to these duels." Kaiba noted calmly.
"I agree, two in particular." Yugi grinned.
"Well then you all arrived just in time we just started." Banner smiled over to them. "We were just about to start the next matches."

Serenity smiled at that as they turned to watch the duels which ranged from very one-sided to extremely close with one of the most even being Jasmine's duel with Mindy that ended with Jasmine using a monster called Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus to barely pull off a win thanks to a lucky draw.
Soon enough though, it was time for Jaden's match as Yugi looked closer.
"Excuse me." Dr. Crowler walked down out of the box to address this as Chazz stepped up as Jaden's opponent.
"Huh, wait isn't he an Obelisk Blue?" Serenity asked turning to Yuzu. "Are they allowed to duel in this exam?"
"No first I heard of it." Yuzu admitted over wondering what her brother has in mind.
At the audience seats Frisk was there with Alexis cheering to Jasmine, and Mindy. "Whoa you two are strong! You did great!"
"Aw, thanks Frisk. I'm sure you'll do great too." Jasmine smiled hugging her.
"Well I don't know how my opponent is but I guess it'll be a tough one." Frisk admitted over.
Mindy soon blinked. "Hey Chazz is against a Slifer."
"Huh? Does that happen?" Frisk asked confused that those in the same rank duel each other but different ranks?
"I don't know, but I have a bad feeling." Alexis frowned turning to Frisk. "Are you going to be ok seeing Chazz duel again?"
Frisk softly nodded while Jaden expressed shock which Dr. Crowler explained since Jaden always talked a big game, he pulled strings to have Chazz duel him taunting that he hopes he have lots of rare cards from the delivery earlier. Many find this suspicious but Jaden quickly accepts declaring this will finish what they started over at Obelisk Arena. So the match starts with Jaden being defensive while Chazz uses lots of new rares like Magical Mallet, and some new variants of the XYZ cards Kaiba himself uses.
But despite this, and managing to build up to VWXYZ Dragon Catapult Cannon, it was destroyed by Winged Kuriboh's new form Winged Kuriboh LV10, and after drawing Avian, Jaden declared a direct attack which defeated Chazz in one hit winning him the duel.
"That Jaden has potential." Mokuba admitted after the duel. "He's going to be someone to keep an eye on."
"Impossible! With all of the rare cards, I've given Chazz this can't be!" Dr. Crowler called in shock seeing Jaden won despite the powerful cards Chazz had.
"Rare cards, what are you talking about Crowler?"
Said man yelped forgetting the Chancellor, and CEO of Duel Academy was in the room with them before he turned walking off. "N-Nothing, I need to go grade some tests!"
Sheppard, Sartyr, Yuzu, Banner, and Fontaine couldn't help chuckling at the Vice-Chancellor's misfortune.
"Well Sheppard, should we let Frisk's opponent in now?" Serenity asked with a smile.
"Ah yes of course." Sheppard smiled over. "I wonder how she would fare against who you all brought in."
"Hm? Is it someone we know?" Banner asked curiously.
"I think you know him." Mokuba smiled.
"Frisk Kumar, report to the dueling field." Sheppard announced.
"Looks like you're up next Frisk." Mindy grinned only for Alexis to frown.
"They didn't call your opponent." she pointed out.
Frisk blinked over looking around seeing no-one else is coming up. "Maybe there already there?" She then shrugged looking at her roommates. "Well... wish me luck."
"You don't need luck girlfriend, you'll do a great job." Jasmine smiled.
Frisk nodded with a soft smile walking down, and arrived on the field looking around for her opponent.
"Hey Frisk, you up for a duel?" asked a familiar voice as she looked to see Joey grinning at her.
"Uncle Joey?" Frisk asked shocked seeing him.
Everyone else was shocked seeing the main underdog's appearance with Jaden called in shock. "Whoa, Dad's here!?"
"What?" Syrus questioned in shock turning to Jaden. "What did you say Jaden?"
"Yeah Sy, that guy Joey Wheeler is my pops!" Jaden grinned over to him.
"Huh, but... your name isn't Jaden Wheeler." Syrus blinked in confusion.
"Well... it's a mistake, I usually make." Jaden admitted rubbing his head.
"Your my opponent here?" Frisk paid no mind to the sudden bombshell Jaden made looking stunned that Joey himself is her promotional exam opponent.
"That's right." Joey grinned. "Oh, and I have some new tricks you might not expect Frisk."
Looking excited for it Frisk nodded giving a grin that Joey's familiar with from her mother. "Well then, Uncle Joey don't expect me to take it easy on ya! I have new tricks myself!"
"I heard, well ladies first." Joey grinned.

"I think... Lady Luck says to pick the middle card Frisk." Joey grinned picking it.
Frisk checked the middle card which she turns it over. "Well Lady Luck is on your side right now." She revealed it was Papyrus' Puzzle which is a trap card.
Joey grinned. "Alright Frisk, what else do you have for me?"
While she shuffled the remaining cards she looked over. "Well right now Muffet will attack your face-down!" Muffet generated some pink spiders over at Joey's face-down.
The monster was revealed to be a small and cute version of Red-Eyes Black Dragon that shattered.

Joey's dragon shattered as his warrior slashed at Frisk's set card. Frisk watched as her set card was destroyed before looking over. "That just means Baby Dragon can't give Gearfried the points!"

"Maybe, but my Red-Eyes Baby Dragon has another ability. When its destroyed while equipped I can add a level one dragon to my hand like The Black Stone of Legend." Joey grinned.
Frisk nodded as he added the card. "Well that's my turn. And with Muffet on my field, Muffet's Bakery summons a spider token!"

"What about your set cards?"
"Graverobber, and Graceful Dice." Joey answered showing her the cards. "Nothing that could have helped me out of that situation."
Frisk softly nodded before she began hearing sounds of clapping, and cheering.
"Looks like your classmates liked the match." Joey chuckled at that.
"Oh man girlfriend that was amazing!" Jasmine grinned as she, Mindy, and Alexis walked off. "Not often you beaten the underdog duelist!"
"Yeah, and you really proved your tough!" Mindy smiled over. "I wonder how me, Jazz, and Alexis handle you."
"Well... we will find out right?" Frisk asked smiling as Jaden walked passed them.
"Heya dad been a while." Jaden grinned to Joey offering a hand.
"Hey Jaden, sorry I missed your match but Yuge wanted to surprise Frisk." Joey chuckled. "How have you been?"
"Been doing good." Jaden grinned.
"So Jay?"
They looked too see Syrus, Chumley, and Bastion walking over still surprised where Syrus asked over. "So... Joey's your dad?"
"Yeah... well officially." Jaden admitted over. "He, and mom took me in when they seen me when I was young."
"Oh okay. Part of me was concerned he is too young to be a father at that time." Bastion admitted understanding that Joey, and Mai adopted Jaden not actually had him. "Though how come your last name is Yuki, and why has Frisk never mentioned you two knew each other?"
"Well... I usually write Yuki as a mistake. It's my middle name now since I don't had one before but I still sign as a habit." Jaden admitted over rubbing his head. "And... me, and Frisk never really met each other."
"We were also moving a lot for... reasons." Joey added. "So we didn't get a chance to meet up with everyone for a while we only moved back to Domino recently."
"Honestly I shouldn't be surprised that slipped your mind Wheeler." Kaiba stated over with crossed arms as the other guests walked over. "You always were slow over important things as you were before."
"Yeah yeah, laugh it up rich-boy." Joey frowned with a glare. "You know exactly why we had to move so much... and we tried calling but Reb-"
"Joey." Serenity snapped with a stern gaze as he noticed Frisk gasp and look down at that causing him to flinch before kneeling to hug Frisk.
"Sorry, you know me and my big mouth... I didn't mean to upset you Frisk, you know that." he apologized.
Frisk stood still before she slowly hugged him back. Serenity softly rubbed Frisk's back at that as she gently closed her eyes with some tears.
Ulrich262: Hope you guys liked Frisk's surprise opponent, it probably won't be Joey's only duel in this remastered GX Fraction but... the Duel Monsters cast likely won't have too many right Bopdog?
