Having left her cloak inside the classroom, Aurora trekked her way through the dungeons, bounding happily up the main stairs towards the front entrance of the school. It had been a few days since the new term began, with this late morning being the first class Hagrid would have with the Third Years. Having asked her previously to assist with this class - the young Professor had a dragon familiar, why wouldn't she agree to help? - Aurora was excited, having learned early what first creature the students would be seeing.

Boots clapping against the stone, the witch shivered, a cold breeze bustling through her hair as she slowly maneuvered down the grounds towards Hagrid's hut. Being September already started, a chill was in the air, fall weather having already trickled across the peaceful environment.

She had released her class early before the Hagrid's Third Years were to arrive, so the woman wasn't all too surprised to find the half-giant outside, sitting comfortable on the steps, scratching behind Fang's ears. Waving her hand in the air, she called happily, "Hagrid!"

The half-giant glanced up, his wide, warming grin caused her to chuckle. Her oldest friend from her school days always found a way make her feel giddy. "Aurora! Glad 'ya could come!"

"Did you think I would miss this? Not only is this your first time teaching, you asked for my help!" Taking his seat as the new Professor stood, Aurora resumed petting the lazy dog, his face cuddled gently into her lap. Removing herself from her shoulders, Sapphire flew atop the dog, curling against his warm skin as she, too, watched and waited for the students to arrive. "So, how'd your other classes go?"

Clearly fidgeting, Hagrid shrugged his massive shoulders. "I mean, they were good, bu', this whole teachin' is differen' than wha' I'm used ta." Watching her, Hagrid paced back and forth, waiting each minute until his latest class would arrive.

Without looking up at her oldest friend, Aurora noted, "You'll dig yourself a trench if you keeping walking around like that."

"I canno' help it, Aurora! Don' ge' me wrong, I am excited Albus offered me th' position, it's jus'…I can' help bu' think I won't be as good as you, or Minerva."

"Poppycock!" Jumping abruptly to her feet, Aurora grasped Hagrid's hand, tightly holding his massive fingers within hers. "Hagrid, if anyone is more than qualified to teach this course, it's you."

Blinking back his disbelief, the man stood straighter. "You…you think?"

"Of course I do! Good gracious Hagrid, I may have jumped from profession to profession after I left Hogwarts, but you're the reason I was interested in magical creatures! If not for you, I wouldn't have worked with dragons in Romania alongside; I certainly wouldn't have saved that little girl over there," she pointed back towards Sapphire, who merely lifted her head, slithering her tongue outwards in affection.

"Wow, I…I neva' knew tha', Aurora." Engulfing her in his massive arms, the woman succumbed to the half-giant's hug. "I appreciate tha', my dear friend."

"You are more than welcome. And, one more thing. Don't compare yourself to me or Minerva. We teach differently because we're different people, but also because of the subjects we teach. Your exuberance and love for these creatures is all you need. And if I hear anything more about you thinking you're not a good teacher, I'll…well, I don't know what I'll do, but I'll do something!"

The half-giant's hearty laugh echoed far and wide away from his hut. "Al'ight, al'ight, I'll be good, I promise ya." Head turning towards the opposite end of his garden, he noticed the arrival of his newest students. "Ah, it's time!"

Standing beside him, Aurora placed Sapphire around her neck, the dragon seeking her warmth, interested in the new people arriving. Walking into his garden, Hagrid returned to his spot with a cord of dead ferrets hanging over his neck. Tearing off a tiny piece, he gave the meat to Sapphire, who hungrily, and happily, consumed the delicious treat. Aurora scratched her dragon's head as more students approached the hut. Handing a few of the ferrets to Aurora, she grasped them tightly, keeping them completely away from the now hungry dragon.

Greeting each student that arrived, Hagrid waited a few minutes before clapping his hands together to gain everyone's attention. "Tha's it. Come on now, come closer. Now, less talking, if ya don' mind. I got a real treat for ya toda', but firs', I have a guest with me. Professor Warrington has agree' to assist today, as she received high marks in all her magical creature courses. Aurora?"

"It is good to be here, and I don't know about all of you, but I'm excited for what you're about to see!" Giddy as she was, some students chuckled, though a majority of the class seemed nervous.

"She's righ', I've go' a great lesson prepared, so follow me."

As the Third Years followed their professors through the woods, some were complaining they had to walk further to their 'classroom' while others simply conversed with their friends. Sapphire squeaked and flew around Aurora and Hagrid's head, as she possibly knew there was another creature up ahead. Nearly ten minutes later, everyone walked into a clearing surrounding by cobblestone wall which resembled a paddock of some sort. Setting their bags down, the students chatter rose, ignoring the fact they were actually in a class and needed to pay attention; Hagrid notice this and took action.

"Righ' you lot. Less chattering; form a group over there, and open yer books to page forty-nine." Following behind Hagrid, she stood a fair distance in front of the students as he went to retrieve the creature for their first lesson.

Except, one student had to speak up. "Exactly how do we do that?" sneered Draco.

"You just stroke the spine, o' course," Hagrid stated as a matter-of-fact, glancing over his shoulder. As he walked off, Aurora briskly turned back to the students, their newest attempt to open the text successful; except for one. Stepping before the poor boy, Aurora placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Neville…you're just supposed to stroke it," she smiled in sympathy.

"Heh, yeah, that's what I did!" Man, the poor boy…she thought.

"God this place has gone to the dogs." Clapping Neville's back, Aurora's attention was now on Draco once more, the annoyance in his voice evident as his friends chuckled. "Wait until my Father hears Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes." Ears perked, her feet moved to step forward when Harry's voice entered her ears before she could do anything.

"Shut up, Malfoy."

Draco, having always the need to have the last word, walked straight up to Harry; Aurora, knowing she needed to say something, was curious to see what he would do. Sauntering up to the Gryffindor he possibly hated most, Draco was cocky, staring straight at Harry who stood his ground. Though, always seeming to have a trick up his sleeve, the blonde Slytherin took several steps back just as he approached Harry, his facade changed drastically, with fear displayed within his eyes.

Mouth dropping, his suddenly said, pointing across behind Harry, "Dementor, Dementor!"

Everyone turned sharply, terrified the deadly creatures of Azkaban were actually there during their class. Draco and the other Slytherins merely laughed, throwing the hoods of their cloaks over their heads, waving their fingers at everyone else, intending to spook and petrify their classmates.

"That's enough!" Voice echoing across the forest, Aurora stepped forward, halting between the rivaling Houses. Peering at Harry then Draco, her eyebrows narrowed, knowing she didn't have enough reason to take away House Points. "Regardless of what you may think, it is not appropriate, nor is it hilarious, to mimic a creature that thrives on killing people! After today, if I see anyone mimicking or threatening the presence of Dementors on campus, it won't just be House Points I'll take away; do you understand?" All the Third Years remained quiet, especially the Slytherins as they glared at their female professor. "Do you understand?" she questioned once more.

A myriad of Third Years mumbled, "Yes professor," while others simply nodded. Shaking her head, Aurora wasn't surprised when Draco immediately began cursing her under his breath. It wasn't her concern what they said, all that mattered was they took this seriously; Dementors were not beings to be trifled with.

Regaining her spot at the front, Hagrid returned, clearing his throat to gain his students attention. "Dut-duh-duh-duuuuh!"

Silence fell upon the students; Hagrid was beaming while Aurora was nearly jumping out of her boots.

The beautiful, majestic creature, a mix between an eagle and a horse, graciously approached Hagrid, eagerly waiting to be served a dead ferret. "Isn' he beautiful? Say hello to Buckbeak," to which he then threw the meat into the air, the hippogriff easily catching the snack within its menacing beak.

Aurora could merely watch in wonder, eyes wide and bright in the presence of this creature; the class, however, stared on in fear and concern. "Hagrid…what exactly is that?" Ron questioned from the crowed.

"Tha' Ron, is a hippogriff. Firs' thing you wanna know 'bout hippogriffs is tha' they are very proud creatures; very easily offended." Still, the Third Years stared on, having succumbed to their silence, possibly considering this was the worst they could run into, other than a Dementor during this class. "You do not want to insult a hippogriff, as it may be the las' thing you ever do. Now, before I proceed, I would like Professor Warrington to demonstrate the correct way to approach a hippogriff." Waving to Aurora, as if giving her the floor, he then added, "Aurora."

Nodding, she held out her arm, Sapphire slithering down as she mumbled, "Fly to Hagrid." Doing as asked, the blue dragon reclaimed her comfortable position on Hagrid's shoulders.

Moving her body in front of Buckbeak, Aurora kept her distance, giving the creature its respected space. Feet tightly together, she bowed, bending lowly at the waist as she kept her sight on the hippogriff, needing to know if it returned her gesture. And what happened? Buckbeak stuck out his beak, clawed front feet stepping forward as he did indeed, return the bow of respect. Clapping echoed in the distance as she resumed her upright position; flinging one of the ferrets in Buckbeak's direction, the creature snatched the meat with an enormous power by the force of it's claw-like mouth.

Dropping the remaining ferrets to the ground, Aurora slowly stepped forward, knowing Buckbeak needed to approach her. Inch by inch she moved closer, the hippogriff's head tilted back and forth, never once growling by her advance, his head stretched out in curiosity. Beak meeting Aurora's hand, the woman curled her fingers, smoothing stroking the creature as she was able to stand by its side.

Clapping his hands vigorously, Hagrid was all smiles, watching the expression of his students as his close friend gained the trust of his pet. "Amazin', Aurora! I expected nothin' less from ya!"

Giving a thumbs up, she grabbed a ferret, tossing it backwards towards the ever-waiting hippogriff, who of course, happily snatched the dead animal in its beak. Observing the students, she knew they were hesitant. "There's nothing to it guys; all magical creatures are essentially the same. Be calm, treat them with the respect they deserve and they'll be more willing to trust you."

Agreeing, Hagrid nodded. "Professor Warrington is correct. Most magical creatures are defensive, whereas hippogriffs are apprehensive until the' know the' can trust ya. Now!" He clapped his hands again, eagerly waiting to see who would step forward. "Who'd like to come and say hello?"

Every single student in unison took several steps back; the only individual oblivious to was Harry. Looking to see who wanted to volunteer, the half-giant nearly jumped with joy. "Well done Harry, well done!" Startled at his name being called, Harry circled to finally see everyone had left him to be selected. Not moving, Hagrid encouraged, "Come on now," just as Ron gently nudged his best friend to take a few steps. Considering he had no other choice, the boy stepped forward to Hagrid's position, either awaiting his doom or his success.

"Now…you hav' ta let him make the first move; it's only polite. So…step up, and give 'im a nice bow. Then you wai' and see if he bows back; if he does, you can go ahead and touch him. If not…well we'll get to tha' later. Remember, do exactly wha' Aurora had and you'll be fine."

Slowly bending at the waist as she had, Harry remained patient. Aurora eagerly waited across from Hagrid, hoping, and knowing full well, that Harry would succeed. The boy was smart and truly could do anything he set his mind to. Studying on the other hand, well…Aurora snickered internally, still knowing Harry tried his hardest.

Buckbeak, sensing a different individual, squawked, flapping its wings in protection. "Back off Harry, back off!" He took a step back, snapping a twig in the process, though Buckbeak halted, tilting its head just as he did with Aurora. Seeming to sense no danger, he bowed as well, calmly and graciously. "Ah! Well done Harry, well done." Tossing a ferret, it was gobbled right up, the feature actually burping in content. "Right, I think you can go and pat him now."

Harry looked at Aurora who only smiled, tilting her head towards Buckbeak."Just go slow," she offered. "He's the one who needs to trust you."

Gulping, Harry extended his hand, motivated by Hagrid who urged him to go slow. Buckbeak, nervously inched forward, eventually dropped his hand into Harry's hand. "Yes! Well done, well done Harry!" The class did cheer, though doubtful if they would have the courage to do the same. Harry, grinning and now not afraid, eagerly petted the creature.

"I think he may let you ride him now."

"What?"

Not taking a no for an answer, Hagrid easily grabbed Harry by the waist, completely ignoring the boy's protests, and lifted him upon the hippogriff's back. "Alrigh' now don' pull out any o' his feathers, because he won' than you for tha'!"

SMACK!

Roaring, Buckbeak took off, gaining a running start as he spread his massive wings, flying upwards and out of the forest clearing. Half the class followed to see where they would go, craning their necks as the two disappeared from sight. Hagrid couldn't stop chuckling as he stood beside Aurora.

"How come you didn't let me take a ride?" she pouted, both asking seriously and in a joking manner.

Her question caused the half-giant to roar with laughter. "I had ta save somethin' excitin' for the class, Aurora. Come by anytime an' I'm sure Buckbeak will offer a ride."

Sapphire missing her mother, crawled down Hagrid's arm, snaking her way around Aurora's shoulders, licking her cheek in comfort. "Aww, did someone miss their mommy?" Flicking her tongue, the young dragon snuggled closer.

So they patiently waited, the students wondering when Harry would come back, Hagrid questioning if he was doing a decent job as a first-time Professor, while Aurora couldn't until she could see Severus at dinner. All were lost in their own thoughts when they could hear the majestic flapping of wings overhead. Buckbeak circled around the tops of the trees before Hagrid whistled loudly for the beast to return. Angling downward, the hippogriff closed its wins as it touched the dirt, running for a short distance to decrease its speed and momentum. It was at this time the class erupted in applause, some cheering loudly while others stated they thought his flight was awesome.

"Well done Harry…and well done Buckbeak!" Lowering Harry to the ground, the gentle half-giant bent towards his young friend, curiously wanting an honest opinion. "How am I doin' me first day…?"

Harry answered with the truth. "Brilliant, Professor." The Third-Year could not have made Hagrid any more happier.

Another student, on the other hand, caught Aurora's attention, despite knowing it was too late.

"Yes, you're not dangerous at all, are you, you great ugly brute!" With a complete disregard for Hagrid's warnings, Draco stepped forward, pushing his way through his classmates right to Buckbeak.

He did not bow.

He did not wait.

Therefore, the hippogriff could not trust this person.

Hagrid warned, "Malfoy, no!"

Squawking loudly, Buckbeak stood tall on its hind legs, thrashing at the Slytherin with its talon-like and slashed at Draco, who held his arm up in defense. Talons snatching against his arm, the boy fell towards the ground, crying out immediately in pain. Harry leaned closer towards a tree as Hagrid waved his arms in front of his creature. "Buckbeak! Whoa, whoa…! Buckbeak!" Throwing his last ferret in the opposite direction, the now calm Buckbeak ran off in search of its treat. Dropping to her knees beside the Slytherin, Aurora calmly spoke to Draco, trying to see his arm and the extent of his injury.

"Oh it's killed me; it's killed me!"

"Draco Malfoy!" Having lost her patience, Aurora held the boy down by one shoulder, her spare hand taking a look at his arm. Blood seeped through the skin, beginning to drench his uniform. Swallowing, the witch knew it wasn't life-threatening and he would be fine, but unless treated, the wound could become something much worse. It definitely wasn't something she nor Madam Pomfrey couldn't easily mend.

"Hagrid!" Hermione frantically cried from behind Aurora. "He has to be taken to the hospital!"

Knowing she was right, Hagrid bent down, first speaking with Aurora. "Wha' do ya think?"

"No, he needs to see Madam Pomfrey. He won't die, despite the boy keep crying he will." Glancing upward, she shook her head. "I'll take care of the class then come find you."

The half-giant heavily sighed. "Thanks, Aurora." Taking Draco into his arms, Hagrid quickly walked out of the clearing, all students watching the two until they disappeared before moving their attention to Aurora. Standing, she waved her hand, Draco's blood vanishing from her fingers, then motioned for the class to gather closer.

Rubbing her face, her gut was screaming this wasn't the end. "Look," she started. "It hasn't even been thirty minutes, but who remembers what Hagrid warned you lot about at the start of class? Besides Hermione?" she added, just as the young witch lifted her hand into the air. All students meekly turned to one another, hiding their faces in shame. One hand she wasn't expecting rose, who she happily call upon. "Yes Neville, please tell the others the answer."

"The P-Professor said that h-hippogriffs are proud creatures, and that w-we shouldn't ever insult one."

"Yes, yes very good Neville, thank you for informing your classmates something they just learned. Twenty points to Gryffindor." Members of the other houses groaned, sending her distasteful looks. "What, unhappy that only two people were prepared to answer my question? This isn't your first Magical Creatures course, all of you should be aware of the potential consequences when working with any creature from our world. I suggest from now on, you listen to Hagrid; believe me or not, he knows these animals better than any of you. Class dismissed."

Some students were still grumbling as they grabbed their belongings, leaving through the clearing the same way they came. Whistling, Buckbeak sauntered over to Aurora, rubbing his beak into her shoulder as she fluffed his feathers. "Goodness Buckbeak…you did nothing wrong."

"Aurora…" Calling her name Harry sauntered to his professor-friend. "What…what happens now?" Joined by Ron and Hermione, their professor took a moment to think before sagging her shoulders.

"I have no idea, Harry. It wouldn't surprise me if Draco does tell his father, and knowing Lucius, he'll fight tooth and nail to either have Hagrid sacked, or Buckbeak taken away."

"But that's preposterous!" Hermione exclaimed. "Draco's the one who blatantly ignored Hagrid's instructions! He's the one who sparked Buckbeak to attack him!"

"Oh you three…" Sulking, Aurora wasn't sure what to say. The truth isn't easy, and neither is lying. "We were all here and saw what happened." Taking Harry's shoulder in one, Hermione in the middle and Ron's in the other, she pulled the three into a circle in front of her. "We cannot let Lucius win. Merlin only knows it's a matter of time before we here anything back, so all of us need to think of a legal defense. Between us four, we can, and will, prove Hagrid and Buckbeak's innocence."

~ oOo ~

Appearing before the hospital doors, Aurora opened one door to slide herself inside. She was met with all the beds empty except for the one occupied by Draco Malfoy. Exhaling sharply, the woman beelined straight towards her former student, his head turning towards her as he was sitting upward by several pillows placed behind his back. His eyes narrowed, sneering by her mere presence.

"And what are you doing here?"

Cocking an eyebrow, the witch released an annoyed chuckle. "You really need to work on your people skills. Considering you're one of my former stuents and Severus' godchild, I wanted to check in to see how you were doing."

"Pfft, as if I'd appreciate your - hold on." Sitting straighter against the pillows, Draco seemed baffled. "How do you know that piece of information…?"

"Severus told me," she deadpanned.

"Why would he tell you? What's so special about you?"

"Gia tin agápi tou…" Rubbing her temples, Aurora was beginning to question her intention in stopping by. It was clear the boy had something against her, probably because she was Muggleborn, or whatever Lucius had said regarding her. She had to be careful in what she said; Draco would report anything he thought was interesting to his father, who would then most likely discuss it with Severus. "I'm his friend; what's so hard to believe about that?" Confidently, the Slytherin opened his mouth to speak when she frantically waved her hand, firmly cutting him off. "Know, what, never mind; don't answer that."

Taking deep, even breaths, the witch merely stood, wondering what else there was to say. Draco, indeed, couldn't stand her and Aurora was quite uncomfortable. As a heavy thud echoed across the wing, she took the chance to peek at the injured student noticing he had slammed his cup atop the nightstand. "Bloody hell, can't even get up to get more water."

"Madam Pomfrey instructed you to stay in bed, correct?"

"Pft, I think it's ridiculous. My arm is hurt, not my damn legs."

Rolling her eyes, Aurora nearly scoffed. The boys attitude was a bit pretentious, but then again, he was the son of one Lucius Malfoy; she didn't really expect anything less. With a swift wave of her hand, Aurora summoned a stream of water to pour into Draco's cup, the boy's eyes actually widening upon realization. As the water reached the top, it disappeared, leaving the student with a full glass.

"How…the bloody hell did you do that?"

Arms crossing, Aurora felt as if she was suddenly placed into the spotlight. Was Draco Malfoy actually curious about something magical she did? "I poured you more water, obviously." Oh geez, Severus's attitude is wearing off one me.

"No, no, not the water. You did so without magic! I thought only Dumbledore could do something like that!"

Sneering, Aurora was actually enjoying this. "What, didn't think I was capable of such magic because I'm Muggleborn?"

Taken back, Draco sharply turned his head away, even though the professor could clearly see a dust of pink forming over his cheekbones. "N-No…I'm just surprised you even have the ability to do that! If all you teach are courses on muggles and only health potions, then clearly you're not as strong as you think."

Eyebrow raised? Check.

Lip twitching? Double check.

Aurora Warrington was now in a foul mood.

"Hmm, oh really. Then tell me this: why is it your school robes are Gryffindor colors and your sling is now stained pink?"

Mumbling, Draco glanced down, mouth agape as he snarled. "How the…Turn these back right now!"

"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you said I wasn't capable. My mistake; unfortunately, that's permanent." She pointed to his clothes. "I do accept apologies for payment in return, if you must know."

"Apologize?!" Draco was disgusted, the word leaving a nasty taste on his tongue. "Why on earth would I do something do preposterous?!"

"Because with a snap of my fingers, I can change everything back to normal. If not, you'll have to traverse all the way to the Slytherin dormitory dressed like that. And I highly doubt you'd like that." Lips set in a firm line, he didn't say anything, eyes wavering back and forth between Aurora's. "Draco, let's face it. You've had something against me since I started two years ago." Uncomfortable, Aurora held up her hands, hoping to make peace. "Draco, look, despite what you may think, I truly did come here to see if you were alright." Snapping her fingers, his robes and sling were returned to their original color.

Eyeing his clothing then the professor, Draco said nothing as he stretched his back across the pillows, aimlessly staring off into the distance; wanting to look at anything else but her. Already having known she wouldn't receive the same gesture of peace, Aurora stepped away, needing to seek Madam Pomfrey.

"I…guess I can apologize." Halting, she turned back, as Draco switched his head to the opposite side. "I mean, you can do wandless magic…"

Knowing that was all she would receive, a smile graced her lips, her walk continued in the direction of Madam Pomfrey's office. As she was nearing out of reach, Aurora stated just loud enough for the boy to hear, "You are a good kid, Draco, I hope you realize that."

She did not turn around to acknowledge the hardcore glare of disgust across the boy's features; yet hidden in his eyes, was a sense of longing she probably understood more than anyone else.

~ oOo ~

After speaking with Madam Pomfrey to gain her perspective of Draco's injuries, she set off towards the Headmaster's office. Quick with her movement, she made it towards the infamous gargoyle statue guarding Dumbledore's office to find it already open, the stone circling staircase towering upwards towards the ancient door. Marching up each step one-by-one, she could hear the deep rumble of Hagrid echoing from the inside, soon followed by Albus, obviously; but then, Severus' voice entered her hearing, pausing the woman a few seconds.

Knocking on the door, she politely waited, not at all bewildered when the door opened on its own; it was known to do such a thing. Stepping inside, she was met with all three male voices she overheard.

"Aurora, I'm glad you stopped by," Albus peered over his half-moon glasses. "I was just about to send for you."

"Good thing I did," she answered. Taking in Hagrid's appearance, the witch was saddened by her friend's expression. It was clear he was distraught over the situation. True, he agreed that the Malfoy heir was a brat and could be narcissistic at times, but it's not like the half-giant wanted Buckbeak to attack the boy. "Since Severus is attending, I can only assume we're all here for the same thing?"

The Headmaster nodded curtly. "Unfortunately, it would seem so. Hagrid's already informed me of what happened; as you were also there, I would inquire your perspective of the situation, Aurora."

Exhaling a mouthful of air from her lungs, she peered over at Severus, whose blank facade was only an illusion to the others in the office. She knew he was battling within himself, wanting to blame Hagrid for the injury his godchild sustained, all the while knowing Draco truly was at fault. "My perspective won't differ much from Hagrid's, I suppose. He invited me to assist with his first class, where we walked off into the woods towards Buckbeak's paddock. When Hagrid first introduced the Hippogriff to the students, he instructed the students about the creature and how proud they are, that they should not insult the creature by any means. He was very adamant about that."

Crossing her arms, the woman shook her head, fearing the worst, despite being a key witness. Harry, Ron, Hermione and the other students were as well, though she knew their opinion on the situation would be biased. "I first demonstrated the appropriate way to approach the hippogriff, then Hagrid asked for a volunteer, Mr. Potter, unfortunately, was forced by his peers to be the first. He gained the creatures trust, went for a small flight, then returned within a few minutes. As Hagrid was asking Mr. Potter a question, Draco suddenly burst through the students, voicing his insults towards Buckbeak who then lashed out against the boy." Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Severus stiffen, fingers tightening slightly against his sides.

"I see," Albus confirmed. Fixing the glasses against his nose, the Headmaster was in a steep predicament. "Severus, seeing as how Draco is from your House, what do you think on the matter?"

"I would think the injury is punishment enough," he peered at Aurora from his peripheral, frowning at his response.

"That's it?" she cried. "No detention, or loss of points? Severus, he completely disobeyed Hagrid as his Professor with a clear disregard towards instruction and proper etiquette! Never mind respect for Buckbeak!"

Dropping his head, the Potions Master was caught in bind; Albus' voice entered, being the one to break the awkward silence. "Regarding the boy's injury, this is a matter in which his parents must be informed."

"…xafniká," Aurora mumbled, slapping her forehead with an open palm. "Albus, the moment Lucius gets involved, he'll take this straight towards the Ministry."

"I am aware. Unfortunately, my hands are tied; the boy's parents deserve to know about the incident."

Heaving her chest up and down, the witch could only nod. "I…yes, I understand." Stepping closer to Hagrid, who had remained quiet since she entered the office, her next words were directed towards him. "I will do everything in my power to prove Buckbeak's innocence."

"No," the half-giant shook his hairy head. "I canno' ask ya to do tha' for me, Aurora."

"I'm not asking for permission. You have my word, Hagrid; if anything happens, you will not be alone."

"Aurora…" Pulling the witch into his massive body, Hagrid clutched his longtime friend in a high embrace. "I could never repa' ya."

"I don't want repayment." She smiled gently, holding onto his arm as she stepped back. "I only want Buckbeak to be safe."

"Your valor knows no bounds, Aurora; a trait of which I admire greatly. Now, Hagrid." Gaining the attention of his longtime friend and colleague, Albus entertained his fingers, cupping them under his chin. "I do believe Aurora has made a point, Draco Malfoy deserves either detention or a reduction of House Points for a complete disregard of your instruction; the decision, as his Professor, I leave to you. For now, I will owl a letter to his parents, and we shall see what happens next."

All three nodded in agreement, knowing there was nothing more to be said. Leaving Albus to attend to his duties, the other three exited, stepping down the stone stairs as they were melting into the floor, the gargoyle statue guarding the entrance as it locked into place. Now in the main hall, Aurora groaned, sensing she was a bit biased herself in the way she spoke on the matter. Turning to Severus, she apologized when Hagrid spoke his voice before hers.

"Aurora, I think I agree with Severus; maybe Draco's injuries were enough for him."

Biting down on her tongue, she deeply respected his decision. "You are the Professor, Hagrid. Whatever you deem appropriate, I'm all for it."

"Thank you." He patted her shoulder whilst nodding towards Severus. "I mus' be off. Got 'nother class ta prepare for."

Watching the half-giant walk away, Aurora hung her head when he was out of sight. "I'm sorry, Severus," her voice mumbled quietly.

Eyebrow raised, he stepped closer, arms held firmly at his side. "For what?" His voice was smooth and slow, calculated in a manner that sent shivers along her spine.

"I had no right to snap at you in such a way. It just…I was thinking you were a bit biased, not just as Draco's Head of House, also from behind his godfather." Tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, her gaze rose only slightly, pink fluttering across her cheekbones. "Then again, my reaction might've been biased as well, considering how he's treated me these past two years."

Quiet.

Severus didn't reply. Instead, he cupped her chin, holding it between his forefinger and thumb, lifting it upwards towards him. When her eyes closed, he demanded, "Look at me." Blue orbs leisurely lifted, sparked with uncertainty as they stayed silent, staring aimlessly at the other. "You voiced what you thought was fitting, as did I. Biased or not, I do agree my godson went too far. As his Head of House, I have considered which punishment he would learn from the most."

I didn't think of it that way, Aurora thought, biting her lip in consideration. "O-Oh," was all she managed to say.

"Though I am proud of your decision and devotion in helping Hagrid. If Lucius does indeed to inform the Ministry, you must know there is nothing I can do."

"I'm aware," she stated. "We have to keep up your facade from falling in their eyes."

"Unfortunately," he whispered, leaning closer to drop his lips against her forehead. "Be prepared, Aurora. You are aware what Lucius is capable of. Remember that."

Later that night, after classes were all done, Severus and I met once we released the last of our students, our feet making headway straight towards the Great Hall for dinner, and for Aurora, dessert. Seated in their normal positions, having placed herself between her lover and Remus, they consumed their meal. Enjoying the freshness of ingredients, the warmth of bread, and though all students sat before them, they basked in the quietness that came from putting their position as a teacher aside for the moment.

Dessert was upon the table and soon in their bellies when Albus declared in was time for everyone to turn in for the night. Professors included, all went their separate ways, Aurora and Severus bounded towards the dungeons, making headway for the Potion Master's office, a side room attached where he prepared potions on his own. Having agreed earlier that morning, they would spend most of the evening concocting the potion necessary for Remus' transformations, per their agreement with the Headmaster during the summer. Once inside, they set to obtaining the necessary items and ingredients they needed. Wolfsbane, powered silver, various other jars, knives and a bubbling cauldron sat upon the main table. The two worked diligently together, moving in tandem, a synchronized dance fit for them as Professors, masters in the art of concocting potions, and most importantly, their acceptance in working around the other.

Nearly two hours later, they had prepped the ingredients, each cast upon the table before them as they each worked on cutting, slicing, squishing, or skinning what was needed. Placing the knife she'd been using on the cutting board, Aurora rubbed her temples as she analyzed their progress. "Severus? I'll be right back, I'm gonna change into something more comfortable."

Humming in response, he acknowledged the booming of his door closing as she exited the room. The mans attention was set on completing the potion that night, as the full moon was nearing within nine days. And considering Remus would need to consume the potion for seven days straight before the full moon, they wanted to prepare an adequate amount to last the teacher for one week.

Attention fully occupied, Severus concentrated on stirring the grey mixture clockwise before dropping in the next ingredient, waiting patiently for the liquid to turn dark green. As he set the burner down to simmer, the door creaked open. Peering from his corner vision, the man was relieved to see it was only Aurora, returning from having changed out of her teaching attire. Having donned sweats, a long sleeve and warm boots, the witch was all smiles now that she was cozy and content to keep her fixation on the potion.

"Alright, I'm guessing you added the moonseed?"

"Correct," muttered Severus, eyeing the potion as it bubbled and steamed.

Back at her designated table, Aurora recounted her ingredients, ensuring what they had was correct and prepared in the proper manner. Wolfsbane Potion is one of the trickiest to concoct, with a slim success rate and an even higher fatality rate if even one ingredient is added incorrectly. Though, with her experience and Severus by her side Aurora wasn't worried at all; the wizard was a Master, he could prepare anything blindfolded, and possibly asleep. She, on the other hand, wasn't quite up-to-par as her male counterpart, but she considered her knowledge practically equal with the man.

"Let's see here…" Running her finger down the used potions book, Aurora mentally crossed off each step and ingredients that had been used. "Reduce heat to simmer, allow to set for fifteen minutes; the mixture should turn from a dark green to a light purple." Reading from the text, she caught Severus' eye following her every move. If she moved left, his eyes steered left; if she moved right, his followed closely.

Taking an advantage, she peered right back. His image was the same every morning and night they were together, yet, the witch was unexpectedly grasped in a lust-induced state of mind. Catching a mere glance of his eyeing ignited the flames across her very skin. The dark obsidian color of his eyes; the tough, calloused, yet gentleness of his hands; the precise manner in which he taught or created potions; bloody hell, even the way his black robes curved around his waist. His attire did nothing to show the true physique Severus held underneath his dark clothing; Aurora was the only one to know how fit and lean her wizard was, the bulk of his muscled arms.

Biting her lip as she became engrossed onto his taut butt walking away from her, Aurora suppressed a groan clawing up her throat. Despite being a skilled Legilimens, Severus had never used this skill to purposely infiltrate his lover's mind; for him, there was no point. Her facial expressions were enough to understand the thoughts she processed.

Deciding she was craving her lover at that moment, Aurora added a slight swing to her hips, vivaciously using her assets to lure the wizard's head directly towards her.

Smirking devilishly, the witch grasped her knife, wiping it clean from the cutting the dittany. Methodically, she placed the utensil back onto the cutting board, the handle barely keeping steady, toppling towards the ground with a thud against the stone.

Feigning to be shocked, Aurora covered her mouth with an audible gasp. "Oops! I'm sorry, let me just pick that up…" Purposely bending at the waist, the woman pushed the roundness of her behind into the air as she grasped the knife. Slowly returning to a standing position, Aurora was barely able to register the utensil leaving her hand as Severus took hold of her body. Back held against his chest, the man nipped her ear, one hand taking hold of one breast as the other already loosening the strings of her sweats.

"Aurora-Nyx…" The deep reverberations of the man's voice was enough to to soak her undergarment's; hell, Aurora was waiting for the moment she would be brought to orgasm from his voice alone. "What a little minx you are."

"A minx? My, whatever are you talking a-about?" She held her statement strong, until the wizard bit the outer lobe of her ear.

"Oh, you know exactly what I'm talking about." Slithering past the waistline of her sweats, the Potions Master dipped his fingers past her undergarments, beelining straight towards the golden prize. Her delicious honey was seeping only for him, the delicious heat he savored all summer delicately coating his fingers. Gasping his arms, Aurora for sure didn't expect the man to act for quickly, so feverishly.

Hand falling onto the table for support, Aurora was left subdued, Severus conquering her body in a way that was so him. The calloused fingers she loved so much? Oh, the witch was especially grateful for moments such as this; the roughness of each finger stroked her perfectly, hitting that one spot so delicately on the inside.

Unable to hide the moan escaping past her lips, her head fell forward, Severus' grip tightening on her hip as his fingers quickened their pace; she knew there would be bruises in the morning. The man's lips connected with her neck, bitting and sucking, leaving tiny love bites wherever her skin was displayed. "So beautiful…" the man muttered. Two digits easily inserted within her tight hole, Aurora tensed, his palm massaged her clit all the while pumping solely for her pelasure. "Gods Aurora, you're so wet…"

"Mmm…a-ahh, ahh! S-Severus…!"

"That's it Aurora, say my name."

"S-S-Severus…" she couldn't help but stutter.

He pumped faster, she grew louder. "Say my name."

"Severus!"

Dripping with her essence, he removed his fingers, hastily rubbing against her clit at a quickened pace. Her breathing came in pants, limbs quivering against her impending orgasm; the bulge in Severus' pants only grew, knowing he was the reason she melted from his touch. "Say my name!" he commanded, never once relenting the onslaught of his hand. If anything, he increased the speed, rapidly stroking her pearl over and over and over.

Losing her resolve, she was nearing her brink. Having bit her lip hard enough to draw blood, Aurora gave in. "SEVERUS!" The coil in her abdomen burst, trickling up her stomach towards her chest. Shaken with electricity, Aurora screamed, her lower body convulse uncontrollably, ripples of pleasure rolled in wave after wave. With each new peak, she surged forward, body unable to process the moment. All the witch could do was feel; feel the surges; feel the dreamy high; feel her juices emanate from within, trailing down her lower lips to be captured by Severus.

Once he removed his hand, Aurora fell against the table, blowing puffs of air out, needing to regain control of her over-beating heart. Behind, Severus greedily licked his coated fingers, the scent of her pheromones enticing his hunger, dick twitching in anticipating, desiring to sink into her soaked velvet womanhood.

Peering over her shoulder, the woman's ecstasy state of mind left her a blushing mess. "Sev…" she mumbled happily. Standing straight on wobbly legs, she grabbed her lover's cravat, lips crashing against his. Tasting her juices on his lips heightened her pleasure induced state, a moan released against his mouth, the man starving for her and her alone. Hands cupping her face, Severus reverted back to the gentle lover only Aurora knew existed.

Breathless, the witch fell into her wizard's chest, seeking his warmth in more ways than one. "That was brilliant," she muttered, still floating on cloud nine.

"It's no wonder, considering it was done by my fingers." Smirking devilishly down at her, Aurora could only giggle uncontrollably.

"Don't get cocky, mister. Speaking of which…" Palming his firm erection, Severus strongly withheld his shock, sharply breathing in through his nose. Dropping her hand as quickly as she placed in on his bulge, the woman copied his smirk, turning hastily towards the bubbling potion. Having now turned to its designated light purple color, she reread the next step, knowing she needed to drop in the dittany and stir counterclockwise for three minutes.

"And where do you think you're going." Hands cupping the front of her night shirt, Aurora didn't even try to resist the heavenly sigh she exhaled. Nipples tweaked by the man's fingers through her shirt, as she ixnay on wearing a bra, heat coursed across her skin once more, the same sensation of trickling flowed from between her thighs. "Hm, it doesn't take much to ignite your appetite, Aurora."

"I can say the same about you, Severus." Palming his erection from behind, she multitasked in stirring the concoction whilst pleasing her lover. "One glance at me and it seems you already stand at attention."

"With such a woman wanting to stay beside me, how could I not," he stated. Waiting as she stirred the potion, Severus slowly lowered her garments, approving the overly soaked cotton of her undies. Having the woman step out of her pants, he dropped the items to the floor, his patience running thin as he couldn't even wait three minutes for the potion to sit for another thirty. Unzipping his own pants, the Potions Master allowed his to fall onto the ground, erection standing free of restriction, already seeking the one place it called home.

Quivering, Aurora's mouth fell, hips jutting backwards as she was slowly penetrated from behind. Exhaling in tandem, one thrusted forward, the other pushed back. In and out, in and out. Forcing her back to his chest, Severus craved her skin, hungering for her warmth to quench the thirst parching his throat. The moment three minutes were up, Severus withdrew, turning the woman as he grasped her hips, practically throwing her upon the table. Reentering her with such haste, his new rhythm was brutal.

Crying out, Aurora latched onto her man, failing in removing the buttons of his frock, forcing her to mutter a spell which ripped the remaining of his clothes to fall of his shoulders. She then tore her own shirt off from her body, the long sleeve fallen to the floor with the remainder of their clothing. Now, skin against skin, Severus' control snapped, the gentleness he wanted vanished. Hands curling against the flesh of her rear, he pounded erratically into her heat. There was a time for passionate lovemaking, but this wasn't it. The primal need to claim his love was overbearing the man's senses. Each moan she delivered, he thrusted harder; with every scrape of her nails against his back, he'd bite her neck. The woman was the embodiment of perfection and Severus knew the relentless desire to sate her would never die out. His unequivocal love her Aurora was undeniably the bravest he had ever acted upon.

Never had he been so vulnerable around another; not even Lily. This one woman made him do acts and deeds he never even dreamt of. But here he was, thrusting his hips against hers in a plow to achieve, not only his orgasm and hers, but the feeling that he actually belonged somewhere.

To know that there was somebody out in the world who actually gave a damn about himself.

Increased pressure from Aurora's nails dragged along his back, her heated breath cascading across his neck as he face curled into his shoulder. "Right there…right there…!" she groaned, locking her ankles around his waist.

Surging with more energy, Severus was ferocious. An inescapable burn and the all-to-familiar tightness raged in his abdomen, seeking an outlet to explode. Needing to release with his love, the man swiveled his thumb against Aurora's exposed clit, her teeth biting sharply into his skin in response. "Cum for me Aurora; I need to feel you quiver around my cock!"

"Severus!" It was then she exploded, one spasm after another erupted from her loins, gushing liquid all over Severus, whose pounding never ceased.

Roaring with the might of a starving lion, he sunk his own own teeth into her neck like a snake. "Aurora!" Pulsing, the wizard thrusted one more time, hips colliding against hers as the woman's contracted muscles vice gripped his cock, keeping him in place, milking the man of his seed.

Bodies ragged, their eyes met, obsidian against blue. Lips connected, hearts melted as one.

Slowing his breathing, Severus tightly held his woman against his chest, feeling himself soften as he slipped from her heated core. "I never tire of this with you, Aurora."

Fingers tightening his hold on her, the woman curled her smile. "Nor I, Severus."

As for the rest of the night, let's just say the table was used appropriately each time the potion needed to rest after each new ingredient.
