Hello, thank you for clicking on my story. My name is Sen'val, or Sen, the story I've begun to write is done simply for fun. No greater purpose than that. Inspired by other stories I've read and games I've played I decided to play around a bit. Things may not be great, I admit I have my shortcomings as a writer but I will do my best to at least keep it entertaining.
Adam died… or at least he had thought he died. Blake and that damn human murdered him. He was angry, raging, hurt… though there was no pain. In fact there was some sort of light shining through his good eye.
Slowly opening his eye he found himself face to face with two figures, they appeared human but something about them made his instincts scream they were dangerous. They stood over him, speaking in a language he didn't understand, gesturing to him several times before one noticed he was awake.
"Ah, Mister Taurus! You are awake, most excellent!" The one on the left exclaimed, coming into focus he saw it was a woman, probably at least. "We found you floating down a river a complete mess. Broken bones, bone deep bruises, lacerations, stab wounds, those were the worst, pierced your heart and lungs. If anyone on your planet had found you, you'd have died. Luckily, we picked you up!" A bright smile, it was then he noticed the brilliant red eyes, white hair, and unusually large teeth.
The second figure, seemingly annoyed by the first pinched the bridge of his nose, Adam noticed the left hand had a bloodied bandage around it and only three fingers. "You were dead, physically at least." The hand dropped as the man turned to the woman. "The nanite would have worked just fine… there was no reason for… never mind. Welcome back to the living Mister Taurus. You may call me Apollo, and this is my counterpart, Artemis." Unlike Artemis, Apollo had a tan, and brilliant shining golden eyes and hair. However, besides the colors and other obvious parts, they looked nearly identical.
"We are what some call Guardians. We do not claim such titles." Artemis cut in. "We step in every now and again, to alter the path of a world's destiny. Not because we are here to save them or anything like that, but to see how a changed variable will alter the tale."
"This time, we have chosen you to be that variable." Apollo gave a kind smile. "Do not think we are going to throw you to the wolves. We shall restore your body, and give you some alterations. And a more… neutral starting point."
"We shall also give you companions who will be there to support you. You will meet them later… for now, sleep." Adam's eyes grew heavy and the gentle order, darkness took over shortly after.
Flickering of images, lights, a hallway, large glass tanks, racks of weapons, a large blue slab.
Adam's eyes snapped open; the dual vision caught him off guard. He had been blind in his left eye since he was a child.
"Hey, careful big brother, you almost threw yourself off the bed!" A young female voice called out and four hands grabbed him to keep him from thrashing. "Calm down Adam." The same voice pleaded.
"Calm down, you'll hurt yourself!" A male this time, they were holding his arms but he couldn't see them. His head seemed to be inside some sort of dome obscuring his sight.
"What did you do to me?!" He demanded through the dome. "I'll kill you damn humans!" Adam thrashed wildly but the grip of those holding him suddenly tightened light Vice clamps.
"Mom and Dad did say he'd be grumpy…" the female voice muttered.
"You were being treated in a nanite bath, Mom and Dad wanted to heal you fully before returning us all to Vale for the entrance ceremony." The male voice cut in. "Hang on, I'll get the helmet off, just stop struggling!" A hand on Adam's right let go of his arm and he tried to get free but a quick jab to his lower ribs blew the wind from his lungs.
"Okay, now that you are calm I'm taking the helmet off." The second hand came free and soon light flooded Adam's vision.
Again he was flanked by two figures, both sharing similar appearances… to himself, with slight changes. The girl, a teenager by the looks of it, had white streaks in her red and black hair, while the boy had golden streaks. They could be his siblings at a glance, they even sported similar horns. The boy's were actually larger, heavier, and downward facing as if framing his upper face, akin to a ram's, while the girl's were thinner and had a strong backwards curve, similar to an impala's.
"Who… what are you?!"
"That hurts!" The girl cried out and ran out of view, clearly upset.
The boy stared at Adam for a moment before sighing heavily. "I'm Aries, you just made Capri cry… dick. We are… we are your children." Aries seemed the more pragmatic of the two. "Mom and Dad created us by splicing your DNA with their own. We are going with you to Remnant to help. Don't worry about our skills, we've been trained to fight, are extremely durable, strong and have Aura nearly twice as strong as yours. Each of us has also been trained in survival skills, as well as softer skills like hacking, medicine, and surgery. Capri wields a pistol and a saber, I wield a halberd with a rifle built into the haft."
There was a whoosh sound and footsteps could be heard before Aries dropped to the floor, seemingly in pain. "You were to inform us when your progenitor woke." Apollo's voice carried a sharp edge to it. "Ignoring your orders before you've even left the Eternal Vigilance… perhaps you should both be recycled."
Adam struggled to sit up, now no one was holding him down and the 'helmet' was no longer blocking his head. He was in an empty room save the slab he rested on and the large white machine attached to it. Capri was crouched in the corner trying to avoid Apollo's eyes, her sobs having stopped, while Aries was on the floor beside the slab writhing in pain, however his eyes showed a murderous glint as he glared at Apollo. They were all wearing a strange white suit, reminiscent of Atlas's soldiers.
"Stubborn… good." Aries suddenly fell limp, his breathing ragged. "You will need that."
"What are you doing?!"
"Disciplining an unruly child… barely a week old and already so rebellious." Apollo looked at him as if he was a fool. "They are your extremes, Aries is hotheaded, vegeneful, strong willed and very protective. Capri is sensitive, forgiving, rather weak willed, and gentle. They were made…"
"By stealing my DNA, Aries told me that already."
"I see." His voice was dry, and he seemed annoyed. "We have used our technology to return to a… certain point in time for your world. The three of you will attend the Beacon Academy as students and work with the era's heroes to prevent the end of the world."
"Ha! Time travel?! Are you insane?"
"Before mocking our abilities, take a look at yourself." A mirror suddenly materialized before Adam revealing his face. There was no scar… and his eyes were both healed… and stranger still he looked nearly half a decade younger.
"What… what did you do to me?!"
"We healed your body of all injuries. All of them. You may notice a small change in cognitive ability, this is to be expected. As well as a general reduction in pain throughout your body. We've also given you mild enhancements, denser muscles and skin, improved vision, hearing, smell, and heightened reflexes amongst them."
"Dad… where's Mom?" Capri spoke up softly from her position in the corner.
"Artemis is currently doing some minor calibrations and altering necessary information to ensure the three of you can enter Beacon Academy."
Adam couldn't take his eyes off of his own face in the mirror, he was practically a different person. The SDC brand was gone, and with it felt like a part of himself had vanished as well. The rage, the obsession, it was distant… "You brainwashed me." He muttered, his anger not raising to the surface as he thought it would.
"Not exactly wrong. While you were in the nanite bath every injury, scar, and damaged cell was rebuilt and restored. That includes injuries beneath skin deep."
Adam went to speak again but Apollo held up a hand. "Sleep, we'll be ready to release you soon."
"Adam! Wake up! We're almost there!" A familiar female voice squealed in delight as someone shook his shoulder. Opening his eyes he found himself beside Capri on a Bullhead filled with young men and women.
"Oh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!"
Adam nearly jumped to his feet, he knew that voice! That golden mane! His attempt was thwarted by Capri holding his arm and handing him a letter. "Mom and Dad said to make sure you read this."
Opening the paper Adam's heart sank.
"Adam Taurus, your new family name is Szarvak, you and your new siblings are hereby tasked with aiding the following peoples: Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiaolong, Pyrrha Nikos, and Jaune Arc.
Current task: become teammates with at least three of the six above.
Aries and Capri will work to join those you failed to ally yourself with.
Failure to follow the above instructions will lead to your termination.
If additional information is required speak our names to your siblings, they are currently unaware of their true nature, revealing it may be hazardous.
-A&A"
Capri seemed to be ignoring the letter on purpose but obviously was interested. However after a few moments there was a minor panic on the ship as one of the young men started to vomit profusely. Then…
"Say that again and I will break your face!" Aries voice cut through everything, even the vomiting boy seemed to stop.
A boy with auburn hair stood over a seated and seething Aries, several other young humans stood around with contemptuous expressions on their faces. "What, all I wanted to know was…" he never got to finish his statement as Aries rocketed up from his seat, his forehead slamming home into Cardin's nose. A heavy crack could be heard, it was clear to everyone that his nose was broken.
Blood sprayed, and the other three went to attack Aries who cackled madly as he grabbed a second one, a boy with a mohawk, ignoring the fists and kicks as he smashed his face into the other boy's. Another spray of crimson, painting Aries' face the color of his hair. A cruel white grin showed his true feelings as he reared his head back again preparing to smash into the mohawk kid again when he found himself unable to move.
"Mister Szarvak, that's enough!" A blonde woman came up gangplank. Not ten minutes prior her hologram had welcomed them to Beacon, it was Professor Glynda Goodwitch, her commanding presence caused a lot of the new students to subconsciously step out of her way. "Detention, all five of you!"
Aries gritted his teeth, struggling against his bindings before spitting on the other student's face. A defiant grin was plastered on his lips. "They started it."
"Yet you are the one covered in blood."
Had he been able to move freely he would have shrugged. "Not mine."
Professor Goodwitch gave an exasperated sigh. "I am aware." Several professors came rushing in and began to help the wounded students to the infirmary. "You will come with me to see the Headmaster, it'll have to be a quick discussion."
"Yes, Professor." His rage had cooled, he knew he was in trouble, but he had no intention of showing guilt or even thinking about apologizing for putting two boys in the infirmary on the first day. "They…"
A swish and crack of a riding crop cut his explanation short, the binding holding him in place vanished and he fell to his knees. "Come along… everyone else, welcome to Beacon."
Aries was on the ground and slowly stood up, suddenly his head snapped to look at Adam and Capri. "Sorry guys, guess I'll see you later… if I didn't get expelled." This drew the eyes of everyone still on the Bullhead to Adam and Capri. During the fight Adam had attempted to stand up to join in the battle but Capri had clamped her hands on his arms and held him down forcibly, something he hadn't expected the light looking girl to be able to do. Aries then trotted down to the dock, taking in a deep breath of air and smiled, looking ghastly with the fresh blood painting most of his face.
Adam couldn't help but be shocked, he had been called a madman, but Aries reveled in the violence in a way Adam hadn't reached, he loved every second of it and even the aftermath was nothing more than a joy. The mad glint, the crazed laugh, the joy of walking around coated in blood, Aries was insane, a battle maniac… Did others see him that way before his death? Was that who others thought he was?
I may be reaching, but I believe death can cause one to be introspective, Adam has already died once before at the hands of one he considered close and the woman who replaced him. However that timeline has been washed away due to the interference of outsiders, now Adam Szarvak has to survive Beacon Academy, where he will see the two who had killed him previously on a near constant basis. However he is not alone, beside him are his new siblings, Capri, a gentle girl, and Aries, a hotheaded revolutionary, much like Adam had once been. They are to balance him out, attempt to show him the errors of his old ways, or maybe drive him further insane with their own minor madnesses they will have to overcome.
I am purposely using scenes from the show to start off, in the next chapter expect to see scenes from the first few episodes of Volume 1 but with Adam, Capri, or Aries involved in them alongside the main cast.
If you found the story entertaining then I have fulfilled my goal, have a good day, night, or whatever time it is when you finish this chapter.
