Linc was understandably confused when Mangey began to follow him like a lost ducklett until he tried saying something
"d-da." Mangey tried to say
"(what's up buddy?)" Linc said
"Dad!" Mangey said
that almost made linc's heart stop beating
(why would he-) Linc thought to himself before remembering what he accidentally introduced Mangey as (... I accidentally made myself a dad.)
the next day
ash was finally ready for his gym battle
Linc was more than ready
"Okay you guys, let's step on it!" Ash said before running off
"ash you're going the wrong way!" Serena yelled out
"then where is it?" Ash asked
"I think it's up that mountain." Clemont said
they headed to gym and entered seeing a rock wall
"Wow! So this is the Cyllage gym. I think..." Serena said
"This is a gym?" Ash asked
"so many pretty colours." Bonnie said
"look up there!" Clemont said pointing at the top
on the top was grant the gym leader
"it's grant!" Ash said "hey grant! I'm here for a battle, are you ready?"
"Sure no problem! I've been waiting for you, climb up!" Grant said
"climb what?" Ash asked
"the wall of course!" Grant said "the battle fields at the top!"
most of the group was shocked
"no way!" Serena said
"You see, my Gym specializes in Rock-type Pokémon. I feel like all challengers should experience my great love of rocks. So I decided the gym's challenge is to accomplish that by allowing you to climb up on your own using your own power." Grant explained
"that doesn't apply to all of us does it?" Clemont asked
"No, not to worry. We've got an elevator over there as well. The choice is yours. Now just because you don't scale the walls, doesn't mean I won't accept your challenge." Grant said
"what are you going to do ash?" Serena asked
"climb it of course!" Ash said
"well linc's got a head start." Bonnie said
while everyone was talking Linc had begun to climb at a pretty rapid pace
"hey wait up!" Ash said as he began to climb
soon Linc reached the top
"wow you got up here fast." Grant said " So what were you thinking about when you were climbing?"
Linc pulled out his cane
"nothin." Linc said
"That's perfect. What were you looking at?" Grant asked
"up." Linc said
"Excellent that means you achieved the state of enlightenment your mind was crystal clear. Unclouded. Now that you've successfully conquered the wall, the next you're going to need to conquer is me. And that's what you came here for... challenger." Grant said
Linc simply chuckled
"Now the battle between Grant the Cyllage Gym leader and... uhh." The referee said before realizing he didn't know linc's name
"Linc." Linc said "from the forest."
"right Linc the challenger from the forest is about to begin! The gym leader will have the use of two Pokémon while the challenger will have the use of all the Pokémon that he currently has in his possession." The referee said
"all of my team? some advice for you then." Linc said
"and what's that?" Grant asked
"DON'T HOLD BACK." Linc said his voice from the microphone somehow becoming more distorted
"don't hold back? are you really that confident?" Grant asked
"it's not confidence if its true." Linc said
(better keep on my guard) grant thought to himself
Linc sent out his haxorus
"what...the..." grant said looking upon the water type "give me a minute."
he went over and grabbed two different pokeballs
"there we go now let's begin. Go golem!" Grant said
grant sent out his golem
"let's see if you can command your powerful pokemon." Grant said "use stone edge!"
golem slammed the ground and made som rock pillars appear
Linc put away his cane and yelled a command
(is he speaking like a Pokemon?) grant thought to himself
haxorus ran forward and slammed against to rocks, breaking them and hitting golem
"that was heavy slam! that's not good." Grant said "and I can't predict what he's gonna do next. this is going to be difficult."
"golem use earthquake!" Grant said
the ground shook as haxorus took some massive damage
Linc yelled out another command
haxorus surrounded her body in water and hit golem head on knocking it out
"waterfall. Well played." Grant said as he returned golem "go aerodactyl!"
he sent out the prehistoric pokemon
"use crunch!" Grant said
aerodactyl bit down on haxorus and the damage was enough to knock haxorus out
Linc returned haxorus and grabbed another pokeball
he sent out his typloshion
"what the heck?" Grant said "no matter we'll just take it a step further!"
he pulled out a key stone
"aerodactyl mega evolve!" Grant said
aerodactyl transformed into its mega form
around that time everyone else made it up to the field
"Woah a mega aerodactyl!" Clemont said
Linc laughed before pulling out his keystone
"there's no way that works." Grant said
suddenly typloshion transformed into mega typloshion
"i Stand corrected." Grant said
"but how?! Scizor made some sense because mega scizor exists but there's no mega typloshion!" Clemont yelled
Linc shouted a command
typloshion let out a grey beam of light
"alright use stone edge!" Grant said
aerodactyl caused a bunch of stone pillars to rise
Linc shouted another command
typloshion knocked aerodactyl out of the sky with thunderbolt ending the battle
"Woah!" Ash said
"that was a good battle." Grant said as he walked forward "the badge is yours."
he handed Linc the badge
"now ash you're up next?" Grant asked
"yup!" Ash said
later with Leni
after the collector got settled Leni and professor sycamore learned a few things about them
first off he is a god apparently
at first they didn't believe it until the collector stopped an out of control pokemon in the artificial environment with his finger
that got Their attention
second the plush that they has with them is called "Francois" and was given to him by someone named "king"
and finally he doesn't know anything about pokemon or really anything human like
they have siblings but they didn't like them very much in fact they didn't know what parents were and he only learned recently about the concept of death
so they had their hands full
so through out the day they explained somethings to them
but right now it was time to put them to bed
"ok collector time for bed." Leni said
"ok.." the collector said having wanted to play with his new Pokémon friends more
they went up to the spare room
"good night." Leni said
"good night mama." The Collector
that immediately caught Leni off guard
(well guess I'm a mother now.) Leni thought to herself as she left the room
