Backstory
Claudad was a very bright young woman who since preschool she had received straight A and endless praise from most everyone around her. She grew up middle class as an only child and sought after and easily found comfort in others' generosity as her own mother, who was her only living or known family member, was quite cold and distant towards her. By the time she graduated highschool she had been accepted into several different universities with full scholarships from the mass amounts of college recommendation letters teachers had sent regarding her sweet nature and brilliant mind. It took her a while to decide where to go but eventually she settled on the University of Toronto as it is largely known as the best college in Canada. She studied business and finance and began work in her first year of university on the side as a waitress for extra money. Soon many of her coworkers grew jealous of how many people would request her and how much they would be willing to tip her versus them. The dislike for Cluadad's increasingly excessive amount of attention, by her primarily female coworkers, was soon brought to her the owner of the restaurant's attention, a man named Cal who only worked to open and close the restaurant in order to keep track of the funds. The employees had concocted a scheme to get her fired and edited her schedule to make it look as if she was consistently late for her shifts. Cal trusted his workers as many of them had worked there for years. He then decided to fire Claudad himself which shocked Claudad as no man had ever denied her anything. A prideful woman, she graciously handed over her apron and name badge, shook his hand and thanked him for the opportunity to work there in the first place and left. Knowing the woman in the restaurant had hated her enough to falsify information and that Cal's reasoning for her termination was completely false, she decided she had saved enough money without the job and its added stress and continued to study hard in school.
Shortly after she was fired Cal, a handsome, muscular, young man in his early 30's, called her to meet and speak with him as he felt a crushing guilt for firing her without knowing her side of the story. Claudad agreed to meet with him for lunch and after a wonderful conversation Cal kindly handed over $5,000 as an apology, she was ecstatic and even kissed him in all her excitement. It was more than enough to make up what she would have potentially made in the day since not working, and she was thrilled to find out it came with no strings attached as her Cal was a very kindhearted man.
They continued to meet up as friends as he was very educated and was able to help her with her homework and school studies and never charged her a dime for his help. Cal soon began covering many of her bills supporting her shopping habits and ensuring she had everything she needed or wanted. Claudad had never had a boyfriend, held hands or slept with a man nor did she care much for the attention she was given in a romantic setting. Cal was the first man she had ever even kissed. However she had begun to understand in her late teenage years, as her body developed quickly, that she seemed to have an effect on men as they had protected her from women who weren't kind nearly her entire life. She rarely took advantage of this ability in order to never give a man the wrong idea as she feared if she pushed her luck and inevitably denied them in the end they may one day not be so kind.
Cal summed up the courage to ask her to marry him after only six months of knowing her as a friend. He had never crossed the line from friend to lover and was afraid this would have terrible repercussions but he knew he could not live if Claudad was not by his side. Shockingly Claudad said yes and they were married in a courthouse the same night. What Cal didn't know was Claudad had always wanted to be a mother to prove that she could be a better one then her own mother who had disowned her once she turned 18. She felt comfortable with Cal enough to raise a child with him even if she didn't love him the way he loved her she believed she could fake it and have a nuclear family unit.
From the first kiss Cal had begun to change, his love grew increasingly more blind as they continued to try for a child and once Claudad was pregnant he cried for nearly a week he was so happy to have been able to do that for her after failing for two years straight. Cal had cut off most of his family and friends without realizing it since he had met Claudad and that only solidified more as they continued their romantic relationship as husband and wife. Many of his family members felt she was using him for money and they were worried she would drain him of his self-made fortune.
On her 20th birthday she gave birth to their only child, Rayland. The birth was completed and resulted in her uterus having to be removed from an infection, this emergency surgery rendered her bed bound and unable to hold or care for her son for weeks. Cal loved and doted on his son from the second he was born while Claudad healed he made sure to give Rayland every feeding, diaper change and bath and rarely put him down. When Claudad finally was ready to hold her son he cried endlessly until he was in his father's arms again. Instantly she felt as if Ryland preferred his father and a deep resentment for her husband began to fester.
When Rayland was only a year old Claudad packed their things and moved out. Since she was never able to go back to school due to jealousy of her husband's connection with their son, she spent everyday with her son trying to persuade him from favoring his father. Rayland never wavered however and though he showed many signs of love for his mother in her eyes it never even began to equate to the love he had for his father.
Cal was heartbroken and begged for her to come back but she refused and finalized it with divorce papers that Cal in his lust to gain her favor signed instantly, hoping it would make her happy if he bowed down to her command. Unfortunately this heartbreak lead Cal down a dark path and he became a closeted alcoholic and rarely went an hour without a drink. It took many years in court but finally Cal was able to retain 50/50 custody though he continued weekly to send Claudad money that covered all her bills, and his son's necessities. He also gave her plenty of extra money to continue to support her shopping addiction. Claudad never saw the signs of Cal's drinking habits as her son only ever had wonderful things to say about his weeks with his father.
Claudad began to put the money Cal gave her into a savings account for their son that he could access when he turned 18. She did not want her son to believe she was using his father for money and grow to hate her the way the rest of his fathers family did.
Claudad decided to plan a last minute birthday surprise for her son which included his beloved father, whom she asked to pick Rayland up from school that day, to go on a surprise family camping trip knowing that all her son wanted to do was be with his father, and hopeing this would gain her more favor. Cal had been drinking all day but was too excited to get to spend time with his ex-wife and his son on his favorite day of the year and he unfortunately agreed to pick Rayland up from school. When Claudad learned of Cal's alcohol level content before his passing and how police had found evidence that he may have had a lengthy addiction to drinking since their divorce she was completely devastated and vowed to never trust a man that was not Rayland ever again.
After a car accident, caused by Cal, that left her now 8 year old son on life support and her ex-husband deceased and his money out of reach, she joined an elite escort service in order to pay for her son's healthcare as his father's family refused to help. The job earned her a large amount of money quickly as she began to swindle man after man out of much more money than she had ever imagined she could make. Using all of her tricks to persuade men to maximize the amount they would be willing to give her.
Two years later a young, Vampire bachelor, known as Cedric overheard about the young women's ways of persuasion and decided to see for himself. He was quickly baffled by her beauty and charm in her human form and decided that same night to offer her immortality for the price of her hand in marriage. Claudad was shocked when he was able to show proof of what he said about Vampires and even more so when he presented her with information on his massive wealth. Though she agreed to marry Cedric she decided to withhold information about her son who was now 10 years of age.
On the night she was turned, Rayland woke up from his coma, completely alone.
Claudad was thrilled once she realized what she coined her "hypnotic touch" was only elevated once she was turned. Pray bowed to her and thanked her as she drained them. After three years she had amassed the entirety of the information she would need regarding her husband's financial assets and how he ran his household. Cédric told her of the Volturi Coven who governed her new world as well as neighboring Vampire Covens including the Denali and the Cullens; adding information on their strange ways of feeding and how they lived alongside humans. Once she felt she knew all she could know about Vampirism and most importantly how to sire, she destroyed her husband with ease, as by then he was merely a puppet waiting on her every command. She dedicated her life to practicing how to turn a human into a Vampire. It took her six more years to master the art but finally while attempting to curb her appetite with a substitute of animal blood she found it was much easier to bite without fully draining. By her eighth year she had successfully sired six men who she watched turn until she found the least painful looking way, she then destroyed each one of them a day after they had turned to ensure her son would survive being turned by her venom. Each man allowed her to destroy them as they were hopelessly in love with their creator the second they came too. This excited Claudad as she believed Rayland would finally love her the most once turned by her venom.
On the night of Rayland's 18th birthday Claudad used her "hypnotic touch" on the charge nurse, at a recovery center she had paid doctors off to keep her son in for when she was ready to collect him. The nurse carefully inserted a large dose of anesthesia into Raylands body and Rayland, already sleeping quite peacefully, didn't even flinch at the prick of the needle. Claudad had the human nurse drive them deep into the woods, as she cradled her son in his sleep, to her home where she turned Ryland. The moment Rayland came too she immediately feed her son the charge nurse, a large man with clean blood enough to fill Rayland for awhile so Claudad could explain to him what was happening.
To her surprise her son was enraged after his feed when his mother told him of his new reality and only relaxed once she told him she would gladly turn his best friend Talisman, if he wished to join their family, as well so they could be together forever.
