Welcome! I am writing another Inuyasha fanfic, but this time I'm going a different route. I don't believe I will be adding any lemons to this story, but there might be slight limes. Definitely fluff! But who with? Read to find out!

Who to Love?

Chapter 1: Kagome's Confession

Kagome jolts awake to the sound of the school bell. She looks around confused for a moment before realizing she must have dozed off while in math class. She sighed as she looked down at her incomplete worksheet. 'ugh,' she thought, 'I'll never be able to focus on school now.'

"Hey Kagome!"

She looked up from her empty work pages to see her three best friends of this modern era standing in front of her desk. "Oh, hey guys. I guess I must have dozed off."

"You don't say." The three girls giggled.

The four girls continued their conversation while heading out of the school and towards Kagome's family shrine.

"Hey kagome. Are you feeling okay? You know with your arthritis and just now getting over the flu. You have been through a lot lately!" Ayume asks concerningly.

Not wanting to tell the full truth, she feins a fake smile and defensively waves her hands in front of her. "Me? Oh, I'm fine! Don't worry. It's just all this work I've missed. It's getting to me, that's all." Hoping that worked, she gives them a more positive reassuring smile.

"Are you sure? This doesn't have anything to do with that two-timing boyfriend of yours, does it!?" Eri responded.

Kagome takes a big gulp, thinking about how she can get out of this one. 'Luckily I don't have to lie.. It's not REALLY about Inuyasha.. Not completely at least.' "No, it's about someone else." 'Oops! I shouldn't have said it like that!'

"So there IS someone!" Yuka excitedly yelled back.

Ayume responded, "so if it's not the two-timer.. than it must be Hojo!" All three girls started giggling, believing they have figured out their best friends secret.

Kagome's face blushes red, not because what they are saying is true, but because it is so untrue it makes her kind of annoyed. "NO. For the last time. Not Hojo! It's no-one. Really!" She sweat drops nervously just wishing this conversation would be overwith.

The four girls make it up the steps to Kagome's house and inside. Kagome yells to her mom in the kitchen that they will be upstairs in her room until dinner is ready.

They are sitting together in her room just gossiping like normal high school teenagers. Kagome sitting on the bed, Yuka sitting on the chair at the desk, while Eri and Ayume sat cross legged on the floor.

After about fifteen minutes of senseless gossip, Eri brings up Kagome's crush problem again. "So Kagome. If what's bothering you has nothing to do with Inuyasha, and nothing to do with Hojo.. than who is it? Please tell us!"

"Yeah Kagome!" Yuka spoke up. "We are your best friends. Please?"

Kagome looks at her three friends and sighs. 'How can I tell them if I don't even understand it myself?' "The thing is.. well.. uh.."

"Yeeeaaahhhhh?" The three of them egged her on to continue.

"It kind of does have something to do with Inuyasha.. but someone else too.." Kagome finally admits. This is the first time she even thought to say this out loud. She's only ever thought about it and tried to push it out of her mind.

"What do you mean, Kagome?" Ayume asks. She is pretty sure she understands the dilemma, but she wants it confirmed first.

Kagome looks down at her hands, which are busy messing with a piece of string that seems awfully interesting at the moment. "I mean.. I have fallen in love with inuyasha but.. I have strong feelings for someone else too."

All three friends gasped at the same time, followed by a room full of silence. The silence was deafening to Kagome. She finally admits this to three of her closest friends and they fell silent.

The room is quiet for another thirty seconds but feels like an eternity to them all. To break the awkward silence Kagome says, "Well? Say something!"

"The thing is, Kagome.. If it's not Hojo. Who else could it be?" Eri was the first to speak up.

Kagome turned about as red as inuyasha's robe of the fire rat when that question was asked. "I don't know if I can tell you that.. It's just, this is all too confusing for me, you know? I only just started feeling this way for another person and I don't know what to do about it."

"Why don't you write their names down on a piece of paper and write pro's and con's for each of them!" Yuka exclaimed happily.

'It's not that simple..' "I don't know guys, it's not as easy as it sounds. For starters, I don't even know how the other person feels. They have someone already trying to win their effection. And don't get me started on Inuyasha. His affections are never aimed towards me." She thought of Kikyo when she said this.

"Will you please tell us who this other guy is Kagome? We just want to help. Does he go to our school? What is it you like about him?" Ayume asked calmly.

'Guy... He... Him... That's the problem..' Kagome blushes a deep pink while trying to figure out the best way to explain this secret to her friends. She hasn't told anyone of this, not even Sango. Especially not Sango.

Kagome takes a slow and deep breath in before admitting her true feelings. "The truth is -" The three girls, now crowded on the floor in front of Kagome, all leaned in closer. "I not only have deep feelings for Inuyasha, but another friend that hangs around us a lot. And the reason it's so hard for me to say out loud is because.. I think I'm in love with her."

The room fell silent once again, but this time they heard a "WHAT!?" Come from outside her bedroom door.

Kagome, now pissed, got up and ripped her door open. She grabbed her little brother by the ear and dragged him into her room. "How DARE you listen to us you little perv!"

"S-sorry sis! I was just curious!" Sota was trembling in fear.

"I have never said any of that out loud and the one time I feel comfortable enough to tell my friends, you decide it's okay to eves drop?"

"S-sorry! I won't tell anyone! I swear it!" Sota gets on his hands and knees begging his older sister to believe him. She rolls her eyes and tells him to get up and leave so she can talk with her friends privately. She puts extra emphasis on the word 'privately.'

Sota on his way out, turns around to say, "by the way, dinner is about ready.. I'll tell mom you might be a while though." Than he quickly scampered away.

Kagome closes her door and goes to sit in the circle with her friends. She looks down at the floor, blushing, waiting for someone to speak up. When no one did, Kagome had the nerve to make the first move.

"The truth is, I.. think I'm bisexual.. No, I know I am. I'm still figuring things out. I'm pretty sure I love Inuyasha but.. at the same time.."

Before she could finish her sentence, Eri interupted her. "You also love this girl! That's so romantic!" She says as she smiles and stares at her friend. The other girls just stare blankly at her. "Was it something I said?"

"So, you're really okay with this?" Kagome asked shyly.

"Why wouldn't we be, Kagome? You are our friend after all." Yuka spoke up this time.

Kagome, with tears in her eyes, jumps at the chance to hug all three of her friends. "You have no idea how much this means to me. I've been so confused and inside my own head for weeks. I'm glad I have friends I can talk to about anything."

The four girls, now closer than ever, continue their gossiping and at the same time, Ayume, Eri, and Yuka think of a way to help Kagome finally figure out the person who she wants to be with.
