Kendra Lloyd had never been a role model for others. She is content to live among her people, as discreet as a leaf falling in autumn. She spoke little, whether with her colleagues or other members of staff. She listened to all of Dr. Kate Heightmeyer's advice and orders.

The Atlantis psychologist knew how good a job her assistant was doing. Kendra did not ask any questions about patients, she respected their privacy and in no way judged their personal problems. Kate sometimes felt like her assistant could be empathetic, like she knew things about them.

Kate couldn't imagine the many secrets her assistant was keeping. She remembered the first time she looked at his file. The SGC had highly recommended him to work alongside them. His official information was almost too perfect in her eyes, that's what she thought at that moment.

"Only daughter of Major Samuel Lloyd, first in his class at university. His internship tutors made numerous recommendations about him". She said while examining the information.

Tapping the computer brought Kate back to reality. She watches out of the corner of her eye as her assistant completes the files on new patients. Kendra had a square face, long brown hair, a straight nose, full lips, stretched eyes of a dark blue color.

She wears a white shirt with gray pants from her uniform. The first buttons of his shirt are open revealing a purple tank top. She has a pair of orange lace-up sneakers. Her hair was tied in a long braid hanging down her back.

"Do you have something to tell me, Doctor Heightmeyer ?" asks her assistant without looking at her.

"Well, I wanted to know if you had finished completing the reports on Lieutenant Washington's team. One of its members asks for an appointment quickly." Kate replied.

"Soon, doctor…", assures Kendra in a distant tone.

"Good," Kate adds. A smile appears on his lips.

The psychologist notes to what extent her assistant kept a lot of distance when speaking with others, when she was supposed to. Kate narrows her eyes as she returns to complete her report. Suddenly she had an idea. His new patient, Michael, who had started, had a need for social development.

Kate gets up and leaves her office, leaving her assistant. She runs to Elizabeth Weir's office, telling her her idea. An hour passed when the entire Atlantis team, in confidence regarding Michael's nature, gathered in the conference room.

"It's a terrible idea," says John Sheppard. His eyebrows rose at the explanation.

"I agree," adds Ronon Dex, scowling.

"On the contrary, Colonel Sheppard. I think that this experience could provide us with proof that wraiths, having become humans, can develop relational and social abilities. They will quickly gain self-confidence and will be more adapted to understanding our situation" explained the psychiatrist, convinced.

"So, I understand well. You want to expose one of the members to spending time with Michael so he can develop social skills. This idea is totally preposterous," retorted the colonel.

"I tend to agree with Dr. Heightmeyer. If this experiment is a success, then it will prove that the contaminated wraiths can help us," confirms Teyla in an intervention.

"And imagine on a strategic and military level. Some of these wraiths are scientists while others are soldiers. They can be of great help," Rodney said, tapping on his tablet.

"And who will be chosen for such an experiment?", Carson asked, a hint of worry being heard.

"My assistant, Kendra Lloyd", admits Kate.

"Your assistant ? I didn't know you had one," John commented, surprised.

"I wish I had an assistant…" Rodney murmurs longingly.

"What would you do if he physically attacked your assistant ?" asks the colonel.

"We'll just have to neutralize him," Kate replied.

"We should kill him while we still have control over him," Ronon suggests, smiling.

"That's enough !" Elizabeth shouts with authority.

Each member of the team turns to the leader of the expedition. She thought for a few seconds, thinking about what everyone said. The advantages as well as the disadvantages. After a long minute of thought, she looks Kate in the eyes and nods positively.

"It's OK. The SGC will need to be informed. But we must avoid any catastrophe. The experience will be supervised and security increased," explains Elizabeth, seriously.

The Colonel and Ronon mumble in their corner, Tayla lets out a sigh of relief. Rodney continues tapping on his tablet as Carson gives Elizabeth a worried look. The psychologist just nodded while waiting for everything to fall into place.

Kate walked out of the conference room, leaving the doors open. Teyla followed shortly after, as did Rodney. All that remained was Ronon holding his gun, and Colonel Sheppard who remained seated. As Carson followed Elizabeth to her office.

"What a bad joke…" sighed the colonel.

"We should have killed him instead of turning him into a human," says Ronon.

"Come on, if you can, you'll kill every wraith in the galaxy," John said, grimacing.

"Not wrong," added the warrior, smiling. »

On the other side of the city, Kate entered her own quarters. She picks up her home computer and begins taking notes about the experiment she is about to conduct. There was a knock on his door. Teyla entered, wearing a sweet smile. Kate turns in his direction.

"What can I do for you ?" Kate asked.

"I would like to know more about your assistant. I've lived here for a long time and I don't remember ever meeting her," Teyla responded.

"I see… Well, her name is Kendra Lloyd and it hasn't been long since she arrived," specifies the psychologist.

"The strangest thing is that we don't see people eating together at lunchtime. Would he be intolerant to your human food?" asks the Athosian, curious.

"No, but she is always immersed in her work, so she skips lunch. She's not very sociable, that's why I would like this experience to allow her to communicate better with others," Kate explained.

Teyla nods. The Athosian leaves the room a few minutes later. Kate continues to prepare a road map of the experience. His assistant would not know anything, the risk was greater than anything. A week later, everything was in place.

The SGC had agreed to conduct this experiment and security was increased for Michael. It all started when he left the hospital, he continued to receive the retrovirus. Like every lunchtime, he ate in the canteen, alone surrounded by armed soldiers, watching him closely.

Kate had managed to get her assistant out by pretending that it was her birthday (and it was true). The psychologist had asked her assistant to take a break to eat with her, just for today. Kendra had arrived early.

The assistant noticed Doctor Mckay interacting with a strange man she had never seen before. The two men shake hands as if they knew each other. Several minutes later, Kate arrived. She saw her assistant waiting silently while looking at the canteen.

Mckay walked away shortly after, leaving Michael to finish his meal, surrounded by guards. Kate took a meal tray with her assistant, Kendra followed the psychologist to Michael's table. His gaze met Kendra's.

The young woman displays an impassive face. She remembered that he was a new patient of the psychologist. Kate displays a big smile that almost sounded fake, worried about this first meeting.

"Hello Doctor Heightmeyer !" he greeted, politely.

"Hello Lieutenant Kenmore. Oh, let me introduce you to my assistant Kendra Lloyd," said the psychologist, looking at the young woman.

"Hello," Kendra said, nodding.

Teyla and John were eating together across the room. They observe this first contact carefully like two lighthouses lighting the night to guide the boats. John raises an eyebrow as he looks at the two soldiers accompanying Michael.

He saw the doctor and his new assistant sit down. He seemed to be analyzing Kendra as Teyla looked at him warily out of the corner of her eye. Kendra stands in front of Michael as Kate glances at the soldiers. They left and moved away, leaving a silent atmosphere which made the psychologist uncomfortable.

"Say Michael, wouldn't you like to tell Kendra what happened to you ?" Kate suggested.

"Oh sure," he agrees.

Kendra raises an eyebrow at this sudden proposition. Michael begins to eat his dessert while thinking for a few seconds.

"Well, I saved my squad from a wraith cruiser. I was captured but they managed to save me. And since then, I no longer have any memory of my past," he explained.

"It's tragic. Some of us prefer to forget our past while others are constantly searching for it," says Kendra.

Kate frowns at this remark.

"Yes ! It's very good to talk about what happened. This allows us to take stock of the exploits we have accomplished," the psychologist encouraged them.

The rest of the meal is done in silence. Teyla and John exchange a worried look. Once the meal is finished, Michael gets up to hand over his tray.

"Oh, Michael, how about trying a meditation session so you don't stress out ?" Kate suggests.

"Oh very good. As you wish," Michael agreed.

"Perfect and you Kendra ?" asks the psychologist.

"Why would I need a meditation lesson?" she said when questioned.

"Well, you are always immersed in work. A meditation lesson helps relax the body and mind to work better," says Kate.

"Very good," the assistant agreed.

Michael left, leaving the psychologist and her assistant. Once his meal was finished, he returned to his quarters accompanied by his guards.
