All seven participants' breath stilled as they waited. Each pushing their concentration to the max to be able to react to any sudden movements from the individual they summoned.
As the otherworldly glow from the portal began to wane, a sure sign that the ritual was complete, they finally were able to get a good look at the being they summoned. To say they were shocked was an understatement.
First, each one of them had to direct their gaze lower, for this was not a adult that they had specified during the ritual preparations but a child as old as their own first borns.
Second, the glowing jar that floated above the child's head ominously, the orgin of the glow a monstrously powerful eye that was somehow eyeing them in menance moving from each one of them as if alive.
Finally, the child bore a resemblance, nay a near identical replica to the Leader of the Alliances husband James Flemont Potter and the Leader herself Lily Josephine Potter. A perfect match between the two as if taking the best of both their traits and putting them together like a puzzle.
Lily, James, Sirius, and Bellatrix could only gape in stupfied silence having been expecting some kind of God like entity only to be confronted with the face of a child who's identity they already had a deep inkling of. All of this happening in the span of but 5 seconds. As they already began to regain composure.
A mistake.
For you see the next part of the plan which involved containing the entity relied on both Bellatrix and Lily using equipment made specifically for restraint of magical prowess.
For they had already calculated how long Lucius would be able hold the Imperius curse using all his magic and it came to 10 seconds with each second it grew drastically weaker.
Just as the 6th second went by and both Lily and Belatrix quickly moved in syncronised movement the child exploded into action.
Harry who had been summoned and completely physically restrained had immediately employed the use of the mind arts to alter his perception of time. It was going to bite him in the ass however he hadn't hesitated.
He had completely given up the will of his physical body to the single order the Imperius curse gave "STOP" and instead decided to fight of the effects from his mind allowing him to think without alterted thoughts.
Using the mind arts he completely discarded any thoughts that would hinder his escape like the faces of his kidnappers, the panic he felt and the despair of being outnumbered and having all his blind spots taken by the kidnappers.
Instead he bolstered thoughts on the environment, the different color glow and movement of their wands, calculating how fast it would take for them to physically reach him with what he took in as handcuffs no doubt to restrain him magically and who had his body under control.
After taking this all in he curling his pinky employing the strongest wandless magic he could do, he targeted the one who was controlling him first raising a pillar of transfigured rock smashing him into the ceiling ensuring he was out of the ensuing fight.
Of course Harry would have rather killed the person but, he couldn't guarantee his death with a half baked attempt at a sharp or pointy object hastily transfigured so he settled with a pillar of earth smashing him into the surprisingly high ceiling.
Not having time to transfigure it back to let the person fall to their death he immediately concentrated on the Imperius leaving his body from head to toe and when he felt his arm free he summoned his wand to his right hand immediately summoning a dome of earth to shield from the curses aimed at him before expelling it outwards already heading to the exit he found.
Pushing down the panic when he heard a magically enhanced voice calling for execution of plan C he ran throughout the halls belatedly enchanting his eye jar to be unsummonable.
Expanding his senses he felt for the wards feeling the standard anti apparition and portkey wards and what he knew was a Fidelius. He felt others most familiar to him but a couple unknown making him extremely apprehensive. Hedging his bets he immediately took a left after raising walls of earth to delay their pursuit.
Having felt the presence of numerous individuals outside what he now recognized as a manor he decided to flip the game on its head, instead of escaping the traditional way he made a bee line towards the floo fluctuations he felt.
Even though it was guarded he knew it was his best bet especially since these wards spanned far to long for him to have any other reasonable way to escape.
Feeling a curse taking effect around him he looked up to realise the walls and roof were closing in on his head. Quickly casting a counter curse up he then threw a retaliation backwards trasfiguring the floor into spikes, piercing the foot of one of his pursuing kidnappers.
Yet it was for not as he felt it was immediately dispelled by their combined efforts and them pursuing even more doggedly.
Having already sensed the 2 guards in his way he stabbed his wand foward shooting a torrent of sand in there eyes, sharply swiped his wand left and downwards transfiguring the ground 6 feet beneath them to water, simultaneously summoning there wands. Swiping up he froze it belatedly mourning not having a lightning spell.
A silent bormbarda maxima nearly made him deaf as taking out these 2 took seconds of his time allowing them to close the gap to reliably cast at him.
Cursing as he burst into action he used a smoke spell already closing his eyes quickly going full sprint using his senses to guide him.
He cracked a smile when he heard the curses of not being able to dispell it and couldn't help but think 'Serves you damn right .You think I'd use something so easily dispelled again?'
"I hate fighting smart people" he said however when a gap in the wall was made and his smoke was forced out.
'Still it did it's job' he thought when he reached the Floo entrance with time to spare.
Already knowing it was heavily guarded he immediately threw out 2 imperio spells controlling what he assumed was the greatest threats forcing them to fight their allies alongside him. Luckily they couldn't fight it off.
Disillusioning himself in the chaos, whilst getting rid of scent and foot steps, he hurriedly searched for the floo powder before smacking himself in the head before he silently intoned ' Accio floo plowder' as it zoomed towards him from a guard.
Hastily pulling it out he called a numerous of places he knew would be safe failing each time when they all denied him acess.
His heart jumped wildy for a second as he felt the presence of a extremely powerful individual making themselves known he could only curse and take a risk.
"Diagonally" he screamed
'Merlin's saggy ass not again' he thought in deep irritation.
"Damm that kid got some fucking style" Sirius said as they aproached the floo having already unfrozen the guards putting them in stasis to treat them and stunning the controlled guard captain.
"Really cousin thats what you have to say, after getting out maneuvered by a fucking brat!" Bellatrix exclaimed in disbelief
Sirius could only shrug sheepishly having realised he should have probably not said that out loud.
'He's right though, Merlin the boy is a bite sized juggernaut' she thought
"Did you see his face?" Daniel Greengrass said seriously as he limped in, looking at the Potters, having been the one to come with four as Zabini opted to stay and save Lucius.
"That kid looks more like you 2 two than your own children.. anything to add to the equation Potter?" he said sarcastically glaring at him
James was silent having not have the slightest what to make of it. The situation only now catching up to him. Glancing at Lily he could only sigh seeing the her red eyes probably already coming to a conclusion during the skirmish.
'She always was a multi tasker,' he thought in dark amusement before shaking the thought off to address Greengrass.
"I don't know what you want to hear but i can assure you we had nothing to do with this." he said already getting what the man was implying.
"You sure Prongs? No dalliance with another fair green eyed maiden in your youth hmm" Sirius said wiggling his brows suggestivly.
James looked at him in amused exasperation shaking his head.
Sirius nodded glancing at Lily who didn't look too hot at what he suggested before deciding it'd be better to close his mouth for now.
"We can only assume... that the ritual did what it was supposed to." Lily said
"After all we did see proof atleast one condition should be true" she said looking at them
The child had been able to escape from a well prepared trap and while they weren't able to fully excute it he still got away from them.
Even if all there children talented they might be came together to try replicate the feat they wouldn't even leave the ritual room.
"What I'm curious about is" Bellatrix started as she got their attention
"Why on Merlin's name didn't the warding enchantments stop him?" She said deeply confused.
The others had also perked up in confusion. The wards had been a large part of this operation the Potter Manner being a semi Fort Knox known for its wards after what happened that night.
Obscure, powerful and even the ones thought useless were used on the Manor so how did the boy not get affected by them?
There was a reason powerful foes couldn't just waltz into another's home.
Fear for wards the number 1 reason on the list.
"I do believe that" a familiar voice said as they all jolted at it spining towards it pointing their wands in disbelief
"I can be of assistance my dear students" said One Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore in amusement looking healthier than he had in decades.
Harry could have apparated away if he tried but that wouldn't be very cash money of him huh?
