Dear Lady Sigyn,

I thank you for the gift. The daggers are of exceptional quality and will make great throwing knives to practice with. I am sure that your mother was just as insistent as my own that we purchase these gifts for one another as a sign of goodwill. I say this because I had mentioned a few weeks ago to my mother that I had seen these exact knives at a blacksmith shop. And I am confident that you had, at some point in the recent past, mentioned to your parents that you were quite fond of these particular pair of gloves.

No matter, we cannot fault them for wanting our future matrimony to succeed. I suppose an agreeable marriage would benefit us both. Though how the purchasing of trinkets is to obtain such an end I will never know.

You mentioned in your letter that you are an avid reader of books. When you come to visit I will have to show you my father's library. The place is massive and I often get lost within it on any given day. Perhaps you could navigate it more skillfully. What would you say is your favorite book? I await your response.

Sincerely,

Loki Odinson
