5. Letter Five: Of Fidelity and Royalty

Dear Lady Sigyn,

You mentioned in your letter that your family has been invited to attend my parents' anniversary celebrations. I don't see why you are so excited about it, the evening will consist of endless toasts to my parents' marriage and long winded speeches about how fidelity and commitment have become increasingly rare in today's marital landscape making my parents' "faithful matrimony" a shining light in a darkened world.

My brother will steal the show of course, he always does. Everyone will talk about how strong Thor is, how brave Thor is, how great a king Thor will be. Ridiculous. A good king needs more than ego and an overpowered weapon to successfully maintain peace and prosperity. But Father says that is where I come in, every good king needs a greater second-in-command.

I apologize, I am rambling. By the way, that poetry book finally arrived. I know that you encouraged me to take my time with it but I'm confident that I can have it finished before the party. Also, to answer your question, my favorite color is green though the classic appeal of gold has been growing on me recently.
