Chapter10: Reunion
It was quite the odd sight, in a dinner with a D from the health inspector, two young men sit at a wobble table. The shorter of the two leans back with a nonchalant look on his face, and the taller one has a completely defeated expression. The oddest thing was a sack full of powder by their side.
"All our dreams crushed"
"It's not that bad, Izuku"
"Crushed"
"There's a 30% chance we can join the hero course in the second semester."
Midoriya lets his head fall into the table, letting out a groan of frustration. "I don't like those odds Minoru."
It has been a week since the boys received the news that they could only get into the general education class at U.A.
At the moment, there are just too many problems that would be caused by having two cybernetically enhanced teens in the hero course. The school only allows certain use of gadgets if it's absolutely necessary for your quirk to function, and that's added to the fact that the principal and the doctor seemingly needed to come up with an entire fake backstory for the two.
A plate of badly made eggs is placed in front of Minoru while he places a hand on his cheek. "Tho it's weird right, on paper we are brothers now".
Midoriya, brings his head up from the table, "yeah, I still don't know how the doc got my mom to agree to that"
They sit there for about 20 minutes, not even touching their food. Midoriya nods off while Mineta keeps watch of the diner's main entrance. That is until they hear a rumble.
Both boys look to the door behind them and see a mass of green slime forcing its way into the diner.
Mineta pokes the cheek of his white haired friend. "He's here".
"Huh…oh cool" Midoriya says, and without warning, without even a second thought, throws the sack of powder at the slime creature.
Creeking, Crackling, screeching, all these sounds come from the slime as it's quickly hardened into a cement like substance.
"That was the guy right…it would be really awkward if it wasn't." Midoriya says as he begins to fully wake up.
A woman behind the counter speaks up, "that's him, he's been harassing this place for weeks, driving away all the business".
Mineta opens his mouth, the fool about to mention that it wasn't the villain driving away customers, but Midoriya stops him.
"The solution should keep him frozen for about three hours, so we'll just take the payment now so you can call a cop over."
Crack*
Everyone turns their heads to see the solidified slime begin to crack.
Midoriya leans in, examining the cracking structure. "Is he actually Changing his body's composition to desolidify himself? That is so cool!"
"Izuku! Stop being impressed and get him out of here!" Mineta yells
"Right" Izuku responds as he removes his first restriction, grabbing the frozen slime man and running towards the nearest police station.
Crack*
"Oh no oh no oh no"
Crack*
The white haired cyborg wastes no time, as soon as the police station is in sight, he chucks the soon cracking statue into the front doors and keeps running.
As he runs away he can hear voices.
"Isn't that the sludge villain?"
"Why's he frozen?"
"He's breaking free!"
"Oh shit! Someone get a bottle!"
The young cyborg is so focused on running, that he doesn't notice a blond haired boy staring at him.
…
The two teens stand in an empty street, not a soul near them. The only thing they can hear is the occasional bird, and far away cars.
Mineta and Midoriya stare at their phones, Mineta brazenly scrolling through porn and thinking about their current lifestyle, "Jobs are getting real easy"
Midoriya turns his head, almost laughing at what he heard. "Are you upset? We could ask the doc for higher level jobs."
"Hell no, we got a good thing going. Most of our work gets done with zero injuries."
Midoriya is included to agree, the two have progressed far over the past year they've gotten much stronger. Able to handle most jobs in little over 3 hours at a time, over the past few months, it's gotten to the point where the two have been taking 4 or so jobs a day.
Mineta keeps scrolling without a care In the world, with his head still buried in his phone, he speaks to Midoriya. "Don't look up, don't react, some guy has been staring at us".
Midoriya doesn't look up, he simply answers while scrolling through his phone. "How long has he been there?"
"Around 10 minutes, he could just be a weird guy."
The boys hear footsteps, a tendril is drawn, a fist is clenched, and both cyborgs get ready for whatever's coming.
The footsteps get closer, and both boys look up simultaneously, fully prepared for combat, but both stop at the sight before them. A young man roughly the same age as them, blond hair and red eyes full of confusion.
He says only one thing, something that confuses Minoru, and fills Midoriya with dread.
"Deku?"
All the confidence leaves Midoriya's body as he stares at his old bully, not a thought in his head as the blond boy walks up to him saying "what the hell happened to you?"
Midoriya backs away instinctually, hands to his side and his head down like he always did in school. "K-Kachan I…"
The moment he hears "kachan", Mineta puts the pieces together, and gets in-between the two.
"This the guy who pushed you off a roof?"
The two's attention is pulled to the imp, the blond boy speaking up first. "I didn't -"
What happened next was quite odd, Bakugo
Opened his mouth to speak, but then he was shut up by green sludge covering his mouth.
Any other day the boy's would have noticed the pool of slime rushing at them, unfortunately today they were distracted.
The sludge Villain doesn't even acknowledge the two cyborgs, grabbing hold of the Bakugou's limbs and slithering away.
As the boys process what just happened, they can hear the voices of police from the distance.
"How did he escape!?"
"I don't know! I trapped him the nearest bottle and gave him to the new kid"
"THE GUY WHOS QUIRK IS LITERALLY CALLED "BUTTER FINGERS!!""
"…when you say it like that, it makes me sound dumb."
Minoru ignores them, he even ignores the sludge villain moving away. The job is done, cops are here, a few heros should show up in a moment, as far as he's concerned, they're good.
THUNK*
The imp flinches at that noise, the implication of that sound makes Mineta groan in agony. He doesn't even look at Midoriya at this point, he simply holds his hand out, and the white haired cyborg grabs it, dragging him along.
"Explosions, 3 blocks down" Mineta points out, the imp is being dangled by his arm.
Midoriya sees the explosions happening and nods his head, "that's kachan. Minoru, I'm gonna throw you."
"Don't you dare you albino piece of-"

Thrashing, clawing, biting, squirming.
All these were being done to a comical degree by a blond teen doing everything in his power to escape from the sludge covering his limbs and mouth. While this is a horrifying sight, it is being made worse by one simple fact.
There were explosions coming from the boys' palms.
As he struggled, he used his quirk, igniting the nitroglycerin he sweats and causing serious damage to the area around him.
"Gotta win, gotta win, I'm gonna be a hero and heroes always win!"
He thrashed harder, more explosions going off as he squirmed in vain against the sludges grip.
"Win! Win! Win! Win! WIN!!"
More explosions happened, keeping away the police and one local hero from getting close.
As Bakugo starts to lose air, the sludge Villain finally speaks. "Aw man, I really hit the jackpot with you. My new body's gonna be sick".
All the teen can do let out a muffled "fuck you"
The sludge starts to go down his throat, the teen can no longer breathe, and his strength starts to fail.
Tears form in his eyes as his chest begins to burn from the lack of oxygen. Just as he's about to pass out, as the thought of dying fills his head, the proud boy thinks only one thing…
"Help"
Just as he thinks this, a voice is heard from above, "Shhiiiitttt!"
Minoru lands directly on the boy and brings out four tendrils filled with paralyzing agents. He jams them directly into the slim covering Bakugo's mouth. "Pray this works"
Now the agent doesn't cause the villain to freeze, but it does make him remove his sludge from his captives mouth.
Midoriya takes note of the odd sight, the slimy tendril splits open and lets Mineta's paralyzing agent fall to the floor, like the villain didn't want it to mix with his sludge.
"Ok…interesting" Midoriya says as he prepares to jump in, but just as he does, there's another explosion.
Bakugo being able to breath seemed to have reignited his fire, and he once again thrashed and squirmed against the sludge villain, accidentally hitting Mineta.
The imp is blasted by Bakugo's quirk, sending him flying into a nearby wall.
Midoriya is able to grab his purple friend before he makes impact, Mineta letting out a very angry "that dick!" Before Midoriya drops him.
"I have a plan, but I need to clear one thing up. Every liquid but the explosive one in your balls doesn't do anything on contact with skin right?"
"Nope, it needs to enter the bloodstream to be effective, but it will make you sick if you ingest it."
Midoriya lets out a sigh of relief, "perfect, then forget injections, just splash that sludge with as much liquid as you can."
Mineta doesn't question Midoriya for a second, throwing ball after ball and having his tendrils slice them open. The chemicals from the spheres cover both the villain and Bakugo, and the sludge screams.
"NO!" he yells while contorting his body, the slim still has a hold on the young explosive teen, but just barely.
Midoriya sees this as his opportunity, and removes his second restriction.
THUNK*
He winds his fist back, forgoing all Logan taught him and preparing to deliver an extremely telegraphed punch.
The sludge villain laughs in his head, thinking he can easily dodge what's coming, but as Midoriya let's his fist fly, it's not the fist that makes contact.
Instead it's the absurd wind that comes with it.
A gust of wind strong enough to send a 200 pound man off his feet, strong enough to make the cars around him stand two wheels for just a second. But most importantly, strong enough to get the sludge off of Bakugo.
At least it should have been, but Midoriya underestimated the strength of the sludges grip. He still has a hold, finally getting rid of Mineta's distraction and reattaching himself to Bakugo.
The cyborgs were back at square one.
As sirens blare, the boys realize that they are running out of time, they can't be seen by the police.
"Minoru, let's do it again, but this time I'll remove three restrictions."
"Midoriya we got to go, people will see-"
"He needs help, I don't care."
Mineta sighs and prepares to throw more of his balls, but a voice stops them.
"Very good"
Midoriya pauses, Mineta pauses, Bakugo pauses, even the sludge villain turns in disbelief at the voice it just heard.
"I only saw the last bits, but that plan was excellent."
Midoriya turns in utter shock, he's not wearing his hero outfit, but it's him.
Tall figure, blond hair, blue eyes, a large toothy smile, anybody in Japan could tell you who he is…
"But if you're gonna use wind pressure to blow someone away…" the figure says while mimicking Midoriya's last puch.
The sludge villain flinches back a bit, only able to let out a meek "I surren-"
"YOU GATTA PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT!! DETROIT SMASH!!!"
If Midoriya's punch made a gust of wind, then what this man made was more akin to a tornado. It turns cars over, almost makes the cyborgs fly off, and completely separates the sludge Villain from his captive.
Bakugo nearly flies off I'm the same direction, but the man grabs hold of him right on time and traps the villain in an airtight bin.
When the wind finally dies down, Mineta is first to notice something, it's cloudy.
And then it starts raining.
"Oh shit…all that wind pressure" Mineta states as he looks blankly at the sky.
"He punched so hard he changed the weather" Midoriya says in disbelief as he looks at the man who saved them.
Even the ball of anger and pride stayed silent as he looked up at the smiling man.
All three young men say the same thing, a mix of shock, excitement, and genuine delight in their voices.
"All might!"
