Day 111, 7:23 AM

UA Dorms, Front Porch

Now was the time to get serious. Waking up early in the morning, pouring the gas into the ugly-ass red Altima that Bakugou was going to drive, Deku checks his watch. It was still early in the morning and they had plenty of time to do stuff throughout the day. But they had to be quick about it though. Deku finishes filling the tank before he has Kodai shrink the remaining cars and stuff them into her inner pocket. They plan to go to the gas station, have Kodai grow the cars to their normal size, and then fill up the cars.

"Why didn't you guys do that earlier?" Bakugou asks. "Why didn't you guys fill up the cars at the gas station yesterday?"

Kaminari holds his hands in surrender. "We were afraid of the beast coming back so we decided to fill it up later." And Kodai was such an emotional wreck that she was in no condition to be taking orders.

"It doesn't matter," Deku says, "because two people filling up seven cars would take a lot more time compared to five people doing it simultaneously."

"I'm going with you to fill up the car." Bakugou jumps into the driver's seat and starts the car up. Deku sits beside him. Kaminari and Jirou hop on the bike and wait patiently.

Kodai, Komori, and Shoji load up in the back of the red Altima before they start up.

"There are four pumps at the gas station and seven cars total," Deku reminds the others. "When Kodai grows the cars back to normal size, get to fill them immediately. We need to do it quickly and fast; we don't want the zombies to notice we're there. Especially that beast from yesterday."

Nodding, the car and bike take off to the gas station.

Gas Station

7:58 AM

Finally making it to the gas station, Kodai grows the six cars in her pockets to their original size and sets them in front of the four gas pumps with three sitting to the side.

It takes about ninety seconds for each to be filled to the rim before they remove the cars and shrink them down. When Shoji was busy filling up a green car, he almost put too much gas in before Komori stopped him.

"I heard you're not supposed to put too much gas in a tank, shroom."

Shoji nods. "My bad."

After giving all the cars a full tank of gas, Kodai shrinks the six cars and puts them away. The only one still in its original size was the Altima they took to get here. Kaminari and Jirou come walking out of the convenience store carrying a few bags of candy in their hands.

"It wasn't much but this was all we could find," Jirou defends. She loads the candies in the trunk.

"It'll do," Deku assures them.

"What next?" Komori asks.

"We should get to UA right now," Bakugou answers. "The sooner we figure out the situation with zombies, the sooner we can get into UA. Kaminari, you should give Kodai a ride back on your bike."

"But shouldn't we use Kaminari's bike?" Deku asks. "It's smaller and much more agile than a car. He could sneak into tight places that we can't."

"Fine, have it your way. Kodai, you ride back with us."

Kaminari laughs. "Okay then. Looks like I'm going on a mission again." He looks to Jirou. "Feel like coming with me again?"

"Sure, why not?"

Kaminari climbs onto his bike and waits for Jirou. "We'll be quick," he promises. "We're just going to check out UA, see how many zombies surround it, and then come back."

"Good. Good luck," Deku smiles.

"And don't keep us waiting, Sparky," Bakugou growls.

"Wouldn't dream of it, Bomberman."

Kaminari starts his bike up and drives off in the direction of UA.

8:18

It takes them a while but they finally make it to UA.

Normally, Kaminari could travel several kilometers in about ten minutes or so but due to taking the forest to avoid any zombie traffic, there were a bunch of detours, ie, fallen logs, boulders, and even zombies stumbling around in the forest.

Finding a trail, Kaminari takes it and decides to break the awkward silence and say something. "So, Jirou, I've been meaning to ask: what do you miss the most before the apocalypse?"

Jirou looks at the back of his head. "Huh?"

"What do you miss most about the old world?"

Jirou pulls her mask down so she can speak clearly. "My parents?"

"Well, that goes without saying but... what else do you miss? A wise man once said that it's the little things that bring joy so... what do you miss?"

Jirou takes a moment to ponder. "Listening to music. Waiting for new albums to release."

"I see. For me, I miss playing the latest Call of Duty video game."

"There's another Call of Duty video game?"

"You can't keep a first-person shooter series like Call of Duty down for good. I liked the original games but the campaign for Modern Warfare 3 was one of the worst things to ever exist. The one in the reboot trilogy. But the original Modern Warfare series and Black Ops trilogy were peak. Serious. Black Ops 3 and 4... we don't talk about those games."

"That bad, huh." She smiles. "I like those Just Dance games. I miss them."

"They were fun to play." Kaminari slows the bike and travels around a fallen branch. "You know, when we're done with UA, maybe we should go see if there are any Playstations or Xboxes still available."

"Don't we have one in the common area?"

"Yeah, but that's for everyone. You and I should get one so we can play our own games."

"Getting a little tired of hanging out with Mineta and Kuroiro all the time, are ya?"

Kaminari laughs. "Nah, I would just rather hang out with you."

"Why?"

"Because you're so fricking awesome, Jirou. And... the very idea of you dancing your heart away to those Just Dance games makes me wanna see your dance moves."

Jirou pulls her mask up to hide the blush.

Making it into the city where UA was just a block away, they ride into the city and keep a sharp eye out for zombies. Dead, deserted, desolate, and any other D-word associated with something pessimistic was what Kaminari would use to describe the city. Kaminari looks carefully before crossing the street. He keeps his hand off the throttle to avoid accidentally making loud engine noises before he pulls up behind a dumpster. With the tall building of UA in sight, Kaminari prepares to ride forward before Jirou grabs the back of his right arm and squeezes.

"Wait, there should be a parking garage somewhere nearby. Ride this baby to the top and we can get our bearings."

"Got it."

Kaminari rides forward and cuts through two alleyways before he spots an open garage door to a parking garage. Riding through, he takes the path leading to the second floor and goes smoothly and steadily. He spots an elevator on the second floor but has enough brain cells to know there would be no power. As for the cars in the garage, most of them were scrapped down, stripped bare with tires and car seats missing. None of these cars were drivable so there was no need to make a big fuss about them.

Reaching the top floor, Kaminari parks to the side next to a large white pillar with blood caked to its surface, tiptoes toward the edge, and grabs the railings.

"Damn," Kaminari whispers upon looking down, seeing several hordes of zombies passing through, oblivious to their presence on the fifth floor of the parking garage.

Kaminari looked outward to the city that was still standing. In the distance, he spots a white commercial building with the top floor rusted and washed from a fire. To his left, a skyscraper with half the windows on the top floor broken. And to his right, a cell tower with the antenna leaning to the left, looking like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Just a few more months of being exposed to the weather and the antenna will fall like a mannequin.

"There's UA," Jirou points in the distance.

UA was still standing and the defense barrier to keep out unwanted people was still standing as well. Several zombies surround the outside of the school but if there were zombies in the front courtyard of the school, neither former student could see them.

"Too bad we don't have binoculars," Kamianri grumbles.

"If we Yaomomo were here, she could make us some."

"But you shouldn't treat Yamomo like your own personal factory," the electric boy teases.

The sound girl rolls her eyes. "You just love throwing our words back into our faces."

"After using me as a human phone charger for almost half a year, I think it's fair." He looks down and backs away from the edge. "Okay, so, there are no zombies inside the school. That means... everything should be good, right?"

"That's what we're hoping for, idiot." She leans on the railing. "But if there are zombies there, then we might have to kill them."

"Hopefully, the zombies aren't inside, right? Right?"

"I'm not sure. We were at Isamu when the outbreak hit, remember? Whatever happened at UA, we missed it."

"But hey, at least our class made it out, right? So, maybe the other classes made it out." He sighs. "What if there are people living there? You know, like leftover students or something?"

"Then we better hope they're willing to share whatever they have with us."

"Or maybe we can invite them to live at the dorms with us."

"There wouldn't be enough room. Besides, if anyone is still living at UA for the last four months or so, they made their own kind of sleeping quarters." She pushes herself off the railings. "Come on, we gotta go."

"Right behind you." He looks behind her. "RIGHT BEHIND YOU!"

Jirou turns and a walker pounces her and pushes her against the railing. She pushes her hands into his chest and tries to keep him away but his gnashing gnarly mouth gets closer and closer to her neck with each passing second.

Kaminari huffs and runs forward. He grabs the runner by the back of the hair and jacket. He tugs him away and shoves him as hard as he can to the ground, growling. Jirou stands behind Kaminari, seeing him as a means of protection, and stays behind him.

"Come on!" Kaminari challenges with a passion for adrenaline. "Come on, runner!"

The runner picks itself up and charges for Kaminari. Kaminari grabs Jirou with one hand and holds onto her as he sidesteps the runner, making it hit the railing. Without waiting another second, Kaminari grabs the runner by the legs and heaves him over the railing.

The runner plunges five stories to the ground like a sack of potatoes and lands on its back. The runner receives no blunt force trauma to the head and instead gets up and staggers, some of its bones crushed inside him.

"Oh my god," Kaminari pants and looks over the railing. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," Jirou nods hesitantly.

"Okay then, how about we get out of here?"

"Sounds like a good idea."

Kaminari climbs on his bike and waits for Jirou to get comfy behind him. Not wasting any time or padding, he starts the bike up and rides off. He takes the same path from before to get up and heads down to the fourth level. Zombies appear out of nowhere and begin limping toward the bike.

Kaminari rides around them, missing one of them by inches when they reach a dead hand out. Making it to the third level, Kaminari spots no zombies in sight and picks up speed slightly. That's when a walker behind a concrete pillar leaps out and grabs Jirou and sends her flying off the bike. Jirou and the walker slide forward with Jirou landing hard on her back but she finds the strength to kick the walker off of her and crawl backward.

Kaminari quickly rides back to her and holds a hand out. "Hop on!"

Jirou accepts his hand and climbs on the bike once more. The walker crawls over and manages to get a grip on Jirou's right boot. The bike takes off, dragging the walker behind in a familiar death grip.

Looking down, Jirou sees the walker's nails digging into her durable boots. She tightens her grip around Kaminari's waist, making him lose his balance slightly but manages to regain it in time. Riding down to the second floor with the walker still in tow, Kaminari looks back before he swerves into the middle of the empty parking garage.

"Hang on!"

He does donuts with his bike, swerving to the left and holding his left hand out to catch Jirou from falling.

The walker's death grip serves it no hope as the nails break away and send the walker flying headfirst into a concrete pillar, killing it.

"Yeah!" Kaminari cheers. "I did that! Yeah, that was so awesome, right!'

Jirou looks at him. "I was almost killed," she pants, still trying to catch her breath from her fall.

"Shoot, my bad. Sorry."

She sighs. "It's okay. And yes... it was kinda cool."

"Awesome."

As Kaminari rides out of the parking garage from the first floor, he passes several walkers on the way and quickly rides around them. The walkers lunge for him but he manages to keep his distance and stay away. Zooming past a car as fast as his bike can, he swerves to avoid colliding with a walker in front of him but manages to use the bike to trip the walker off its feet. Swerving hard to the left once more, he rides forward, where a horde of zombies blocks his path. He changes directions slightly, aiming for an overturned pickup truck in front of him.

"Jirou, you want to fly to the moon?"

Jirou sees what he is about to do. "No, no, Kaminari, no, don't!"

"It'll be fun." He picks up speed.

"No, no, NO!"

"Yes, yes, YES!"

Kaminari rides the overturned pickup truck and launches into the air. Jirou screams into his ear but the electric boy is too wrapped in excitement and adrenaline to notice. Landing hard over the zombies, Jirou nearly falls off the bike before Kaminari swerves the bike to help her regain her balance.

"Yes, that was so AWESOME!"

Kaminari rides away from the zombie horde, taking the same path into the forest, and slows down only slightly to avoid colliding with any trees. "WHOO! That was so fun!" Riding for about two minutes into the forest, Kaminari slows to a stop and rests near a leaning tree. He turns to Jirou, who continues to cling to him for dear life.

"Are you okay?"

Jirou pries her face off of his back and looks him in the eyes, her mask covering her sneer but the look in her eyes gives her look away to the electric boy.

"The next time you fly me to the moon..." she sends a jack flying toward him, stopping half an inch from his left eye. Even with his blue glasses protecting his delicate optics, Kaminari sweats a waterfall. "... I'll make sure you'll never be able to look at the moon again."

"Duly noted," he nods vigorously. "A-Ok."

She retracts her jack before clinging to him once more. "Let's just get out of here."

"No problem."

UA Dorms

8:45

"So there were no zombies inside?" Deku asks.

Jirou shakes her head. "Nothing. If there were, we couldn't see any. If we had binocs, we coulda seen inside but we didn't."

"Hey, this is a good thing," Bakugou says, "if the defense barrier is still up, it means there won't be any new zombies getting in. There's a limited number of zombies in UA and once we take them all down, we don't have to worry about them."

"Could we lead the zombies out?" Deku questions. "You know, open the gate and just lure the zombies out?"

"Nope, that would mean more zombies would come in. If there's a small number of zombies inside UA, we gotta kill them; can't risk a horde getting through."

"And there won't be any beasts," Deku sighs with relief. "If there was a beast in the school, then it would've turned its way inside our outside. But there could possibly be a brainiac inside."

"How are we going to sneak in?" Kaminari asks.

"Guts," Bakugou answers. "We cover ourselves in zombie guts, climb over the fence, and then start stabbing the zombies one by one."

Kendo decides to speak up. "It makes sense but if there's a brainiac in the crowd, then they'll be able to tell we're survivors and not zombies."

"Remember, this is only a possible scenario," Jirou reminds them, "we didn't see any zombies inside the defense barrier."

"But we should still have this backup scenario with us just in case." Kendo contemplates something. "Who is going to go with us? If we're going to get supplies, we're going to need a lot of hands to carry stuff. And a lot of hands to kill zombies just in case."

"If there are zombies, we kill them all," Bakugou announces, "there's no room to leave any zombies alive." He pauses. "Well, 'alive' in the zombie variant."

"'Alive' as in zombie terminology?" Kaminari smirks.

"Since when does a dumbass like you know the word 'terminology'?"

Kaminari's smirk grew. "Ever since the day your mother gave birth to a vexatious and irascible stripling such as yourself."

"What the hell kinda vocabulary is that? I'll kill you, dumbass!"

10:15

Deciding to hold off on killing Kaminari until later, a group forms when everyone decides to head out to retrieve supplies and possibly food and medicine from the elite school. It was all hands on deck as a large haul was needed but not too big. In case of an emergency, it was agreed by everyone that some materials should stay behind or at the very least, be stocked off somewhere else.

UA Retrieval Team: Deku, Bakugou, Uraraka, Kendo, Aoyama, Kaminari, Jirou, Komori, Kirishima, Tetsutetsu, Sero, Shiozaki, Manga, Shinsou, and Hatsume.

Three cars were taken with Bakugou driving the red Altima with Deku, Uraraka, Aoyama, and Kirishima. Kendo drives the green car with Komori, Tetsutesu, Shiozaki, and Manga with her. As for the third car, a blue one, Sero has the honor of driving with Shinso and Hatsume in it.

Parking the three cars in the woods about a block away from the school, the students grab several zombies and use knives and latex gloves to skin and scoop zombie guts up and cover their makeshift raincoats. Everyone carries at least one backpack with them to carry supplies as they waddle toward the elite school like penguins.

Waddling through the zombie horde, they keep their heads down and let the guts do the work in hiding them. When they reach the UA barrier, they stumble around to the back of the school to look for other opportunities to get in.

Stopping near the east side of the wall, they spot a grappling hook at the top of the gate with the rope looking a little worn down but still sturdy enough to climb. Bakugou quickly climbed the rope after testing it to make sure it was still in good condition. Reaching the top, he looks around before turning to his classmates below.

"All clear, no zombies," he whispers.

Yes, no zombies, Deku mentally exclaims.

The students slowly start to climb the rope with the 1B students minus Komori managing to make it to the top before several zombies in the distance start to notice their irregular zombie behavior.

The rope snaps after Kirishima climbs up, forcing Sero, Shiozaki, and Hatsume to take action. Sero and SHiozaki use their quirks to make makeshift ropes while Hatsume shoots the same grappling hook from the UA sports festival up the wall. The remaining students quickly climbed over just as the zombies were closing in.

Kaminari remains at the bottom with him helping Jirou climb the rope before him. Kaminari turns and shoves a runner back before climbing up Shiozaki's vines. He manages to make it to the top while barely avoiding any zombies grabbing him and leaps to the bottom.

Since there were no zombies inside, they discarded their gutted-up raincoats and retrieved their backpacks.

"This is going to be easy," Bakugou laughs as he walks to the front of the school. "If there are any zombies in the school, they're going to hate meeting me."

Opening the front doors to UA High, a strange feeling of nostalgia washes over the students like a wave breaking on the beach. Even with plenty of sunlight coming in from the outside, the atmosphere around the school feels a little haunted. The walls are stained with blood, trash cans are overturned, the air reeks the smell of pungent garbage, and the lights above them are out, giving the hallways an eerie gray look.

'Where do we start?" Kaminari asks.

"Cafeteria," Deku answers, "we're going to need as much food as possible."

"It'll probably be canned food," Kendo realizes. "But that's fine with us."

"I'm going to the support lab to get my old equipment," Hatsume declares.

"I'll come with you," Shinsou decides.

"Good. Okay then, follow me, insomniac boy." She zooms off.

"I don't have insomnia." Shinsou slowly walks after her.

"Class 1B, we should look around for supplies," Kendo orders, "let's go room to room and look for useful supplies."

Uraraka holds her hand up. "I'll head to the nurse's office to grab the medicine. Anyone want to come with me?"

"I'll go," Deku volunteers.

"Me too," Aoyama smiles.

"In that case, I'll head to the cafeteria." Bakugou begins walking with Kirishima and Tetsutestu following. "Why are you guys following me?"

"We just want to," both manly boys say.

UA Retrieval Team Objectives

-Cafeteria: Bakugou, Kirishima, Tetsutetsu

-Medicine: Deku, Uraraka, Aoyama

-Supplies: Kendo, Sero, Shiozaki, Manga

-Support Course Materials: Hatsume, Shinsou

With everyone dispersing, Kaminari, Jirou, and Komori stand in the hallway with no one around them. Looking at each other awkwardly, they stand in silence for about thirty seconds before someone decides to break the silence.

"Maybe we should stay here," Kaminari suggests. "The rest of the class is already getting the food, supplies, and medicine, so..."

"We'll just stay here and keep watch," Komori shrugs. "Right?"

"We should check the place out for zombies," Jirou gives her idea. "Or maybe look for other kind of supplies. You know, like blankets and pillows. After all, it's November if my calendar is correct so..."

"Ah, it's going to get cold, shroom. We should head to the locker rooms and see if we can find our winter gear."

"That would be a good idea." Kaminari walks forward, heading in the direction of the first-year hero course locker rooms. Coming up to the boys' locker room, he carefully opens the door and looks inside. Jirou and Komori follow him. He looks at them and groans. "Oh, I see how it is: it's okay for girls to walk into a boys' locker room but not the other way around?"

"No one's getting dressed inside," Komori justifies. "And not all of us are perverts."

"True." Kaminari heads to his old locker and pauses as his hand lands on the lock. Like riding a bike, he remembers the combination off the top of his head and opens his locker. "Holy crap," he smiles and pulls out his old gym clothes. "Look it. Our old gym uniforms. Man, this is so awesome."

"Nice to feel at home, doesn't it, shroom?"

"It sure does, Komori." Kaminari folds the uniform before tucking it into his backpack. Reaching inside, he finds a winter jacket that was issued to him to prepare for wintertime. He has yet to wear it, even when the world was still alive, but he is eager to try it out now.

"Make sure to make room for other supplies," Jirou tells them. "And why do you need a jacket? You still have your jacket you're wearing right now, Kaminari."

The electric boy tugs on his jacket. "I would rather have two jackets than one."

"Whatever." The sound girl turns away.

Kaminari laughs before he steps out into the hallway. As he rotates on his heels to his left, the barrel of a gun rests in front of his face with the man holding the gun looking at him with a deadly glare.

"What the fuck are you doing in our home?!"
