Authors Note: This is my first fanfiction, probably won't be good. Sporadic updates most likely since I am in college. Some of the skills will be maxed before they reach legendary status. E-Rank techniques will max out at apprentice level. D-Ranks techniques at adept level. C-Rank techniques at expert level. B-Ranks at master level. A and S Rank techniques can be the only jutsu's to reach legendary status in the story. I changed the start age from 5 to 8. Am looking for E-Rank techniques if you all want to send some in; make sure to send a description of the technique and what hand signs if any is used. If you send some in, then if you don't mind PMing them instead of using the comment section, I would appreciate it.
I awaken with memories of the last few years that this body has lived till I could take over. The last few memories that I have is of this body's parents being killed in action and proving that I could live by myself at this young of age. Being accepted by the Shinobi Academy, and that starts next week. I could live by myself since this body has proven that it can cook, clean, and manage the house as well as a genin could, but I would have someone check up on me at least once a week. So, overall, this is the best outcome for me since I don't have to pretend to be a child most of the time. I could use the parents' deaths to make it seem that I have become more mature and withdrawn, instead of acting like a small child. The Kurama clan is a small clan that has around 25 members. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shinobi world war has hit the clan harder than most other clans, since the Kurama clan has always been small. The house that I live in now has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and a living room combined with a dining room and kitchen. The plot that the house is on is about 1 acre yard that has some trees that are about 15ft tall, a koi pond that is about 6ft deep, and some posts to practice taijutsu at.
Hey Ysmir, can you tell what I am thinking, and do I need to say stats when I want to view my stats or notifications.

Now after breakfast I should probably go and see Makigumo-sama.
As I walk into the kitchen, I am glad that my memories are correct and that it is basically the same as from Earth. I look into the fridge to see what all is in there, and I find some eggs, pork, and miso soup. In the pantry is a bag of rice and green tea leaves. I fried pork, an egg, and some leftover miso soup for breakfast with some green tea.

After eating and getting dressed I go and see Makigumo, who is acting as clan head. As I travel through the clan's compound, I notice that there is a lack of people. I know from the memories that I have that there is very few clan members and that the previous wars have been hard on the clan. But seeing and knowing something is quite different, and it is a little jarring. Once I reach Makigumo I knock and his door and wait.
"Enter" said a voice from inside the house.
I entered the house, took off my shoes, and was greeted by Makigumo.
"Hey Makigumo-sama, I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me if you don't mind?" I asked.
"Very well! In don't have all day so ask your questions then be done with it" Makigumo said.
"I know that I have gotten a stipend from the village, do you know how much that is?" I asked Makigumo.
"Yes, it is roughly 100,000 yen" Makigumo answered.
"Next will I be getting grocery delivery, or will I have to shop by myself?"
"You will have to shop for food by yourself, though if you ask another clan member, they may show you the best places to shop."
"Could I learn more about chakra before the Academy starts? I would like to be a head of the curve for my group."
"I could talk to the Chunin that is currently trying to teach Yakumo-sama about shinobi if she would be amendable to tutoring another."
"Thank you, Makigumo-sama, I appreciate it. When will I be getting my stipend? I was wanting to go into Konoha proper to find the best way to the library, the Academy, and look through some stores."
"I actually have your stipend right now. I would have a clan member give it to you at noon, but since you came to me, I will give it to you right now. Do you need anything else?" It was currently around 9 in the morning.
"No Makigumo-sama, that is all of the questions for now. Thank you again for taking some of your precious time to meet and answer some questions."
Quest: Explore Konoha!
Objective: Find the Academy and the Library.
Reward: 1000 yen
I leave Makigumo to his own devices, and head out into Konoha. It took me about 3 hours to find the Academy, which is right next to the Hokage Mansion. I have found a number of other places of intrigue though. The shopping district, a park that seems to have a few people playing shogi, and the best route to get to the shopping district from my house. Though I have not seen the library yet. So, I went to the Academy to see if a chunin could point me in the right direction.
"Hey Ninja-sama, can you point me towards the library I was wanting to get a head start on the curriculum for the Academy?" I asked.
"Sure, my name is Umino Iruka, I was just on my lunch break so I could show you where to go." The shinobi responded.
Mystery Quest: Nice to meet you!
Objective: Meet someone from the anime that is not related to you.
Reward: Level up
"Hey Sora, just letting you know that not all quests will be shown to you. If you complete one, then the reward is a lot better than a quest that is shown to you."
"Thank you so much Umino-sama. I appreciate it, my name is Kurama Sora" I responded.
"No need to add Sama, just Iruka works, I am just a genin" Iruka said.
"Okay, Iruka-san. Are you doing a mission or working at the Academy part time?"
"Currently, I am doing a D-rank mission to help the Academy sort through its paperwork. I want to eventually become a chunin instructor though. If you don't mind me asking: why are looking for the library alone? Wouldn't your parents be able to show you where it is?"
"I wanted to go over past curriculum for the Academy, and my parents have recently lost their lives on a mission. I forgot to ask other clan members if they could do it. Even though Makigumo-sama recommended me to do so."
"My apologies, I didn't know-" I interrupted "It is all right. You couldn't possibly have known; you was just asking out of concern for me. I appreciate it" I said.
"Still my apologies. You know I also lost my parents, though I lost them 5 years ago during the Kyubi attack."
"I am sorry to hear that." I am genuinely sorry to hear that. Iruka is an upbeat and kind fellow.
"Welp, here is the library. It's a short walk from the Academy, so it's a great place to go to after classes to get your homework done quickly" Iruka said.
Quest: Explore Konoha! Completed
Objective: Find the Academy and Library.

"Thank you again Iruka-san for all your help."
"You know I am still on my lunch break. Why don't I treat you to some lunch?"
"I wouldn't want to impose any more than I already have."
"Nonsense, I insist."
Alright, but I am paying for myself. I don't like feeling like I owe people."
"Hey Sora, have you ever had ramen?"
"Yes, but I have not had it in a while." I respond while memories of me eating ramen comes to mind.
Iruka leads me to a food stand that has about 5 stools in front of a counter. The sign says the name of the stand is Ichiraku Ramen. I was excited, this was Ichiraku's where Naruto ate pretty much every day. I could potentially meet Naruto, before he goes to the Academy. Though I was about 3 years older than him. As we got closer to the stand, I started picking up whispers from the adults in the area mentioning that the demon was at Ichiraku, and to not go into each other. You have acquired the Skill: Eavesdropping. Before we could enter the stand a man mentions to us specifically that the BOY was at Ichiraku's, and we should avoid it. We disregarded what the man said.
"Hey! Welcome to Ichiraku Ramen. Take a seat and I will be with you in a minute" the waitress said.
Iruka took the seat at the end of the right side of the stand. A small boy with spikey blonde hair sat in the middle seat of the stand. The boy was wearing ninja sandals, khaki shorts, he also had goggles on his forehead and a white shirt with a red spiral on the chest. I took the seat to the left of Iruka and 1 seat away from the boy.
"Hey, my name is Ichiraku Ayame, and I will be your server for today. What can I get you two to drink?"
"Green Tea please Ichiraku-san" Iruka said.
"Water please Ichiraku-san" I replied.
While Iruka and I was looking at the menu we hear a loud voice to our left shout "ANOTHER PLEASE AYAME-NEESAN." To our left we saw that the large bowl of ramen in front of the boy was empty.
"Alright, but this is the last one Naruto-kun" Ayame said.
"Okay Ayame-neesan" Naruto said.
Ayame gave us our drinks and left to get Naruto another bowl.
"Hey Iruka, what are you getting?" I enquired.
"I think I will get the miso ramen. What about you?" He replied.
"I will probably get the beef ramen. Though I haven't decided. Have you been here before?"
"Yeah a few times, but I have not tried all of the different ramen types."
"HEY, WHY DON'T YOU TRY THE MISO AND PORK RAMEN WITH EXTRA FISHCAKES" the boy to our left shouted at me.
"Why are you shouting? We are just to your left we could hear you if you talked normally." I asked.
"Sorry, I do that sometimes" Naruto replied while scratching the back of his head looking bashful.
"No problem. Hey, what is your name? Mine is Kurama Sora, but you can call me Sora. This is Umino Iruka." I introduced both of us, though Iruka was not hostile he did not look to enjoy Naruto's attention.
"My name is Uzumaki Naruto, but you can just call me Naruto. You don't have to use san or anything. I don't like the stuffy feeling, you know?"
Ayame came and took our order. Iruka got the miso, while I went with Naruto's suggestion and got the Miso and Pork Ramen though I did not get extra Fishcakes. While Ayame was getting our orders Naruto, Iruka, and I got into a conversation about pranks and how pranks was basically training trap making and trap detection. Iruka would regale the both of us about the pranks he pulled while he was in the Academy. Unknowing that he has given both Naruto and I plans to do in the future. By the end of lunch Iruka warmed up considerably to Naruto and we were all on a first name basis. Update: There is now a section to view people you have met and their relationship status with you. We paid for our meals which was about 850 yen for a bowl of ramen.
Now that we are done with lunch Iruka goes back to work at the Academy. While Naruto and I are left at Ichiraku.
"Hey Naruto!"
"Yeah?"
"What do you want to do?"
"How bout we go see the Old Man."
"Who is this Old Man?" I enquired.
"He is the one that gives me my stipend. Speaking of which I need to get my stipend from him anyways" Naruto said.
I agreed to go with Naruto to meet this old man, and Naruto brought me to the Hokage Mansion. We made it to the Hokage's office, and the secretary said we could go in since the Hokage was not doing anything important.
"Hello Naruto-kun how are you doing today, oh I see you brought a friend. Greetings I am Sarutobi Hiruzen the Third Hokage, but you can call me Hiruzen" The Hokage said.
"Hey Old Man, this is Sora. I met him and Iruka at Ichiraku's today."
"Greetings, Hiruzen-sama." I greeted the Hokage.
"Nonsense my boy just Hiruzen is fine" Hiruzen said.
"Of course, Hiruzen" I agreed.
Hiruzen gave Naruto his stipend and was chatting before he said we had to leave because he had paperwork to do. It was now about 2 in the afternoon. Naruto decided to head to the park while I decided to go shopping.
Due to getting to know and becoming friends with 2 people. You gain 1 point in Charisma.
I managed to get a calligraphy set, an Idiots Guide to Calligraphy, extra ink, and extra paper at a store that sold writing utensils, scrolls, and utensils. Skill book acquired: An Idiots Guide to Calligraphy! Do you want to learn it?

This cost me about 40,500 yen. The next thing I did was to get some potatoes, and seeds to grow a small garden: consisting of lettuce, tomato, leeks, and potatoes. This came out to about 1,000 yen. I stopped at a bookstore and got books about basic history, basic geography, a book written by Might Duy about physical conditioning and having a proper nutrient plan. These books came out to 40,000 yen. Afterwards, I decided to head back home. I managed to get back to my place at about 6 in the evening with all of my groceries and bags. As soon as I get home and set everything down, I learn the skill book. On my kitchen table was a letter addressed to me.
"Dear Sora-san, I have spoken to the chunin that is instructing Yakumo-sama, and she agreed to give you a shot. You are to be at the clan training ground by 8am in the morning. If you are late then forgetting about being taught by the Chunin. She is a stickler for being on time. You only have one chance to be taught earlier than at the Academy. Even though you start next week. Singed, Makigumo Acting Clan Head of the Kurama Clan"

After putting away groceries, learning calligraphy, putting away the other books, reading the letter, making, and eating dinner. Dinner was some plain white rice and leftover pork with green tea. It was about 9 at night, so I got ready for bed because I plan to be at the training field by 7:30am; so, I need to be up by 6:15am and leave the how by 7am. I would rather get there early than be late.
The next day at the training fields.
I arrived at the clan training fields by 7:20am. It took me less time than I thought it would to reach. I managed to leave my house by 7:10am, I was running a bit late I felt due to burning breakfast. When I arrived at the training field, I noticed a woman that I recognized as Yuhi Kurenai from the anime. She had long dark hair, red eyes, and pale skin. Though I recognized that she was not wearing her cannon outfit, but a standard Konoha chunin outfit with a sleeveless red outfit underneath the flak jacket. I also noticed a five-year-old girl beside Kurenai. The child has long brown hair, brown eyes, and kimono-like shirts that had long right sleeve, short left sleeves that were held close by a wide pink sash with red mesh armor underneath it all with a light-blue skirt and a brown headband.
"Greetings Sora-san, this is Yakumo-sama, and my name is Yuhi Kurenai. Though you can call me either Yuhi-sensei or Kurenai-sensei" the woman I recognized as Kurenai said.
"Thank you for the opportunity to learn Kurenai-sensei. Greetings Yakumo-sama" I replied to Kurenai and greeted Yakumo.
