'Oh it's the Macarena!' I love the Macarena!'
'What a throwback' remarked Julian. Kitty bounced with glee and tugged him onto the dancefloor so they could join in with the disco. There was something about a 90s themed disco that Kitty just loved. She who had never experienced the 1790s let alone the glory of the 1990s was now getting to bask in it like it was the first time. Which technically, it was. Every time. Fervently wishing for body glitter on her collarbones, Kitty bobbed along joyfully next to the girl with the crimped hair, fulfilling her dearest wish to dance with the coolest girl of the group.
Last Thursday had been a singalong of retired sailors with sea shanties. Kitty hadn't understood them all but had sung lustily along with Julian. He'd kept them in hysterics by pressing as many buttons as he could on the instruments to throw off the musicians.
She'd seen in the reception diary that Saturday was going to be a silver wedding anniversary. The Captain was her date for the day, eagerly awaiting on some songs he'd be able to recognise. They were going to bag the best spot by the piano. Kitty hugged herself with happiness at the upcoming frivolities. She had always wanted to be a society belle.
