1694 Volturi Castle

"Are you sure that moron is the one that will be the catalyst to the kings' downfall?"Jane asked Isabella. The pair along with Athenodora were relaxing in Athenodora and Isabella's sitting room. They had just finished up in the throne room where Carlisle was presented to the court. Normally the queens weren't involved with anything to do with the court but Athenodora went everywhere Isabella went. She was considered Isabella's eyes and used the excuse that Isabella needed to be guided places to be included in many things that she was never involved with before. It made Jane happy that the queen was allowed because Jane wasn't always available to be around Isabella. Having the queen there guaranteed Isabella's safety. Isabella's safety being the most important thing in Jane's life. Not just because Isabella saved Jane from Aro and his false familiar bond but because Isabella was a good person that had shown Jane more love and respect than anyone had ever done before. The fact that Isabella gave her the mental block just being the icing on the cake.

"It's his selfish naivety that leads to the event happening."Isabella wasn't worried about anyone overhearing them. Her gift allowed her to block sound making it so no one could hear them.

"I don't know what I expected he would be like. Even with your description I was unprepared for such an out of touch vampire."Athenodora said.

"The man thinks that he is more human than the rest of us because he has only lived off animal blood. How stupid could you be?"Jane didn't understand how Carlisle came to that conclusion.

"The fact that even though he lives here for the next century and doesn't come across the studies that have been done on the animal blood diet just proves how stupid he is. If I wanted to prove that my way of living was better I would research it in the archives at least."Isabella was happy that Carlisle didn't. Not that he would believe it anyway.

"I feel bad for Tanya and the rest of the Denali."Jane had seen the struggle the sisters had gone through and was happy that wasn't the role she had to play in Isabella and Colette's plan.

"I think Tanya knowing it's for a good cause helps her push past the disgust."Isabella wished that she could change diets in solidarity with her mate but she couldn't.

"It certainly has helped them adapt to raising Irina's mate and her sister."Athenodora couldn't imagine how hard it would be trying to move around in the human world with red eyes.

"Tanya mentioned in her last letter that the are planning on changing Victoria soon. Now that she looks around the same age as the rest of the group."Isabella told them.

"I'm sure Irina is very happy about that."Athenodora had heard the many mishaps over the years of both the humans getting sick and injured. Athenodora didn't know if she would have had Irina's restraint to hold back from changing the girl no matter how much Victoria wanted to wait.

"Now the coven just has to wait a couple of centuries to deal with the next human mate."Isabella was looking forward to when Tanya made contact with Rosalie because once she did Isabella would get the chance to help Tanya turn the human into a vampire.

"You won't have to wait long to change her though."Jane said.

"I still can't believe that Carlisle would have changed the girl after what would have happened to her if Tanya didn't make contact."Isabella had told both Athenodora and Jane what would happen if Tanya didn't interfere and the queen was disgusted with Carlisle's actions.

"It's his love for Edward that dictates his entire life after the boy is created. That's why he picked Rosalie for him. I suspect he had wanted her for Edward right away but he was too much of a coward to act before the incident."From what Isabella had seen of Carlisle's future she wasn't impressed with the self righteous man.

"It's too bad you have Tanya take care of the newborn problem before it gets out of hand and the kings send us to kill the Cullens off."After everything she had heard about Carlisle and his coven Jane hated them with a passion.

"None of them have any redeeming qualities. I swear Carlisle has a knack for picking the most pitiful humans to change. All them are full of themselves and believe they are better than everyone. Hopefully once this is over we will get a chance at them."Isabella wanted to prove to the Cullens just how inferrer they were just to shut them up.

"I hate that your visions are clouded after the big event."That's what Athenodora and the others called the fight against the kings because Isabella couldn't tell exactly what would happen.

"I expect that just like with other things I'll get more details as the time for it to happen comes closer."Isabella's visions got clearer and gave more physical details once they got closer to happening in real life. So although she knew the events that the Cullens would be involved in she didn't know the exact dates, times or places. Like when she got her first visions of Victoria. All she knew was that she was human girl that would live a horrible life if Tanya didn't interfere. She didn't get the exact details until 6 months before it happened.

"I wish I could see some of the things you have described to us. I mean a horseless carriage made of metal of all things."Jane couldn't even wrap her head around half the things that Isabella told them about.

"Some of the things I've seen are very scary."Isabella said.

"I can't imagine."Athenodora wished that she could help her daughter carry the burden of knowing the future had on her but there was only so much she could do in their current position. Once she was united with her mate then the pair of them would be able to help their daughter better. Thinking of her mate brought with it a thought."Where are you sending Colette next?"

"I'm sending her to Japan. She is going to be needed to save the current vampire king's bond daughter from a kidnapping plot."Isabella told her.

"That's how you get them on your side."Jane had wondered how Isabella was going to get the Japanese vampires to help with many future situations leading up to the big event.

"They will be needed to save the covens with gifted members that get on Aro's radar. The Russians and Africans can't do it all."Isabella may have made Aro feel safe enough that he didn't actively hunt down gifted vampires but he did collect those that were put in his path. Isabella tried to act before he got to them by having them relocated to safer areas Aro would never find them. With the help of her allies they had been able to save all but 2 covens so far.

"I don't know how you keep all your visions organized. Especially because you can't write anything down."Athenodora would have gone insane if she was in Isabella's position. The girl was keeping track of hundreds of people's futures some of which hadn't even been born yet. Athenodora didn't know how Isabella could focus on having a normal conversation let alone make sure everyone played their part.

"I think it's easy for me because I had visions when I was human. They have just adapted to my vampire mind."Isabella said.

"Whatever it is I'm glad I don't have your gift. Mine is more than enough to deal with."Jane didn't like her gift most of time. Especially when Aro had her torturing those that didn't deserve it.

"Once the big event is over you won't have to use your gift ever again if you don't want to."Athenodora knew that Jane's gift caused her a lot of anguish but the small vampire was just as stuck as Athenodora and Isabella. They had to go through the motions until the day came that they could rebel against the kings.

"But until then we keep pretending that we are simply three women who have sworn our unwavering loyalty to the kings."Isabella hated it but that was the three of their roles in this.

"The reason I haven't killed them already is because I know that it would end with not only my death but a lot of other people's as well."As soon as Athenodora had found out about her real mate and everything Isabella had seen she wanted to kill the kings for their lies. The only thing that stopped her was the chaos the world would be thrown into if the kings were killed before Isabella put all of her chess pieces in place.

"By the time this over their deaths will just be three out of hundreds."Isabella said causing the three woman to grow quiet reflecting on her words. The future was not set but with every decision Isabella made it changed it to the outcome she wanted and what she wanted more than anything was for the kings to die and the Volturi to fall. After the first vision of them killing off covens and collecting their gifted members she knew that it was up to her to stop it from happening and with every small event stopped or by someone interfere she was coming closer to that happening. Isabella just had to stay focused on the objective. It was hard because she missed Colette and was still feeling the ache of not completing her mate bond with Tanya. That and being away from the blond was debilitating at times and she knew it was going to get worse once Rosalie came into the picture. It was important work because she knew if she didn't help then Rosalie would have been subjected to a fate worse than death. Victoria and her sister would have been turned into vampires eventually but their lives would have been a nightmare and Aro would have killed off their coven. Victoria would have been the only survivor and she would have gotten involved with tracker that would have led to her death before even meeting Irina. Those were the things Isabella kept reminding herself of when she felt like giving up. Her sacrifice was small in the grand scheme of things.
