On One Condition

Darcy proposes to Elizabeth. She is willing to accept him but on one condition. I did not plan for this to become fluffy… but I sometimes feel there is not much written about DE post-betrothal, pre-marriage sweetness. Thank you, everyone! :-)

1. Chapter 1

"I beg you, most fervently, to relieve my suffering and consent to be my wife."

"On one condition."

"Name it."

"You must bring Jane and Mr Bingley back together."

"Does your sister care for my friend?"

"Most definitely. You will save four broken hearts if you do this."

"Four? You love me too?"

"I love Jane. It breaks my heart to see her unhappy."

"And you are prepared to enter into a marriage with unequal affections in exchange for her happiness?"

"Without question. I love all my family despite their imperfections."

"Then I shall do it to become your family."
