I don't own MHA, this story will contain themes of drug use, alcohol abuse, suicidal tendencies, depression, self harm, and other serious issues, read at your own discretion. In this for all intents and purposes I'm Izuku, but some of the other issues of others are mine, to be specific mostly "shared" issues. That being said please enjoy this story also don't worry, I'm doing much better than the story will make it sound. Most things are dramatized, but living your life always dealing with some sort of pain isn't fun. As anyone who is dealing with any of these issues will tell you, if they feel comfortable sharing their experiences that is. Luckily mine are mostly internal, yay for self dislocating joints, and some of above said and to be mentioned issues. Said story is not as dark as it might appear, mostly because you know what they say, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Chapter One : Youthful Ignorance and a Family Reunion

Izuku Midorya had a quirk, if only it wasn't pretty much useless for fighting then he may have been able to become a strong hero. This isn't the story of how he became the world's strongest hero, at least not in the traditional sense, but a silent hero. That part may sound a little sad, but he isn't upset with how his life is going, or at least not anymore honestly. Listen to his story and his dream, that of helping others no matter who they were, or what they had done.

It all started six months before Bakugo got his quirk, as he dreamed Izuku's sclera started to glow a dark blue. If his eyes had been open you would see the iris itself, it started swirling with shades of mixing blue and green. His power was that of Déjà Vu but not like what everyone else thought of as pure coincidence. The reason for this is when it first manifested Bakugo was there having a sleepover. That night as the two boys slept they each had a dream, neither knowing they were having the exact same one, Bakugo getting his quirk.

They both watched in amazement as the small pops and sparks came off his hands, then Izuku laughed. Jumping up he said, "that's awesome Kaachan, I hope when my quirk comes it's just as cool!" Rushing over to his friend with a hand outstretched for a high five, without thinking Bakugo returns the gesture. A semi confident and cocky smile on his face, excited to share in the usual show of friendship.

He says, "whatever Deku we both know it won't be anything as strong as mine, but you can dream." Two seconds later there are tears in both boys eyes as Izuku holds his now blistering and red hand, Bakugo looking scared. As both of them wake up at the same time he blurts out, "w-what did I just d-do to my best friend!" ,then punches himself in the face. Then he starts to look around and a few tears fall from his eyes as he says, "oh thank god, it wasn't real."

Izuku sits up to look at him and ask, "did you have a bad dream Kaachan?" ,not realizing his quirk had just manifested. The two talk about what happened, not fully realizing the deeper implications just sad and a little bit scared. Izuku bites his lip before he asks, "that was odd, what are the chances of both of us getting the same dream?" Then he pats Bakugo's arm saying, "oh right, don't worry Kaachan I know that you would never want to hurt me on purpose."

Bakugo who was looking at his hands like they might bite both of them blinks, then smiles and closes his eyes. As he starts to drift back off to sleep he murmurs, "thank you Izuku, you are and will always be my best friend." One last tear falls from his eye, his soft snoring starts to fill the air around them both, a smile on his face. The soft silence is interrupted by a cough, a face sticking out of the bedroom wall, concern written on it.

Izuku quietly says, "it was just a bad dream, tell mom we are both ok before she calls Auntie Mitsuki I'll explain in the morning." As he says a soft, "ok Izuku" ,the face disappears slowly, a soft click can be heard and a light turns on. Izuku pulls out a book and starts to read, about a half hour later he is snoring next to Bakugo the book now between them. As the boys sleep the door cracked open and Mirio walks in, turning the lamp off, then says, "sleep well little bro."

Little did he know as he did that Izuku was biting his lip, a bit too hard and broke the skin, instinctively he drank the blood. As he did this his eyes started to glow even brighter than before, the swirling faster as well, his dream starting. In front of him was a man he didn't know, the smell of fire and burning flesh filled his nose, despite that he was oddly calm. Then a deep voice asked, "are you sure that you want to do this Dabi?" ,a nod was his only answer.

As he opened a door five people walked in, two with pure white hair, one with streaks of red in it, one whose was half and half, the last pure red. Seeing the last one he was shocked, that was Endeavor, the number two hero, but why did he have a huge scar on the left side of his face? Then he noticed a bit of gray making its way into the pure red hair that he had and that he looked older than he remembered. The last piece clicked into place as he realized he had opened the door by reaching down to the handle not up.

As this was going through his head he heard the man behind him stumbling over his words saying, "h-hey dad." Those two words were the only thing he got out before his dad went to hug him crying as he asks, "T-Touya is it really you?" Without thinking Izuku said, "stop, don't hug him, I'd rather not die in a flash fire today, not to mention ruin years of therapy." The people who came with him looked at Izuku oddly as the woman who was older asked, "Izuku how exactly do you know our son?"

Again without thinking Izuku started to laugh and Dabi had at the same time they both looked at each other and held out fists. Three seconds later rock crushed scissors and Dabi said, "go ahead, tell them everything" ,Izuku just nodded. Sighing he started out with, "well the first time we met I was twelve and he was about to murder a woman who had been attacked. After having already killed her attacker, the rest as they say is history" ,everyone groaned at the awful pun as Izuku continued.

He told the story of how he a "quirkless" twelve year old boy stopped Dabi from doing something he would regret for years to come. Then told them how he convinced him to be a double agent inside the shadows, how he became Izuku's dealer. Next was how he and Dabi had helped one of his wives, before she could even kill anyone, who later became a hero. Then finally how Izuku had taken over for his then therapist, by the end everyone was looking between them both as if they were crazy.

Before anyone else could speak up both of them sang, "oh we know we are, but that's why we're in therapy!" In perfect harmony with Jazz Hands even, at that everyone started to laugh, then cry, Dabi walked up to his mom and hugged her tight. She looked shocked at first looking to Izuku, but then wrapped her arms around him sobbing all the harder now. She didn't miss the subtle nod Izuku had given when she looked over, Endeavor however looked mad.

Before Izuku could say anything though a small fire erupted in his hand and he sighed as he blew it out. His hand red from the heat, but that started to fade away quickly enough, the small marks on his palm stood out though. The wounds didn't look bad, freshly cauterized by his own quirk, at that Izuku sighed as well then tapped his arm. When the pro hero looked at him Izuku said, "try this next time you feel that way" ,grabbing a nearby book off a shelf. It was a hard cover version and quite thick, before he could take it the book smashed into Izuku's forehead.

The look of pure shock was worth it, Dabi had started to laugh again and Todoroki said, "so that's why you do that. I always wondered, though now that I think about it you always did like to brag about being, "stubborn as a ox and twice as thick headed."" His sister looked at him and said, "seriously, you have seen him doing that before?!?!" ,he just nodded and shrugged. Then he said/asked, "the oddest time was when he broke a cast iron pan by walking into it, or was that the brick wall?"

That made everyone else look at Todoroki and if he was crazy, except Dabi who said, "why am I not surprised by that in the slightest." This statement caused more questions and a while later a phone was pulled out, a short video showed. The crack as the pan hit the wall handle and brick both breaking, the young voice saying, "ah damn my favorite pan!" His sister looked at Izuku and asked, "tell me you at least got your head examined after that happened? If not you seriously needed it" ,she finished off by saying, then she groaned as everyone laughed at the unintentional joke.

Unnoticed by Izuku his alarm was going off and a minute or two later there was a ding as a notification came through. After opening the message from the name Shaggy he said, "well as much fun as this was I'm afraid it's time to go. My next appointment is here and he doesn't like to be kept waiting, Dabi same time next week, and don't think I can't find you." As Izuku was saying that there was a hard knock on the door, and he mumbled, "oh shit, don't cross the streams."

The door started to crumble away into ash as he sighed and said, "that's an extra 400,000 yen Shaggy and you know it." The man outside the door was wearing a black hoodie, grey jeans, and oddly enough was missing two fingers from his left hand. Using that one he rubbed a silver necklace around his neck with blue "beads" set in it each pair surrounded by a different gemstone. Izuku asked, "Shaggy, where are your prosthetics at?" ,he used his right hand to just point at the crumbled door in answer.

Seeing his eyes though they were filled with pain, sadness, and regret, the first thing he said made Izuku's stomach drop. "It was a very bad day, I honestly don't care, days like this make me wish my quirk worked on myself." Before Izuku could even think of what to say Dabi pulled the other man into a hug, he asked, "the voices?" He got a silent nod in return, then a sob as he said, "the worst one's are the one's from my family" ,gripping the necklace now.

Izuku snapped awake after hearing those words and then he said, "w-what did I just s-s-see!?!?" ,confused and terrified. When he was asleep the words he and they used felt as natural as breathing, now his mind just swirled with questions. The sun was starting to rise as he licked his lip, tasting the blood on it he sighed and then got up to brush his teeth Bakugo following. Soon coming downstairs, as they did a voice came from the Television, "Zangif you are bad guy, but doesn't mean you are bad guy."

Hearing that Izuku laughed and then saw his mother, he recalled the promise he had made to his stepfather sighing. Walking over he said, "well I'm pretty sure that last night my quirk manifested, not sure though really. Also I'm not sure how useful it would be for a hero either, but that's not important" ,he continued on after this. Telling his mother the story felt right, but he didn't reveal everything, somehow knowing not to mention how Shaggy had said he wanted to die.

Among other things, his mother just sat there and said, "well you definitely have your grandfather's quirk, and it's strong. He can only see a couple years into the future, four to five if he mediates before falling asleep, I'm so proud of you Izuku!" She pulled him into a hug and then said, "seeing more than five years into a possible future is amazing, ten was the record. From what you said though you saw, not fifteen but possibly twenty years into the future, but one thing upsets me."

Izuku knew that tone, he was in trouble, a second late later he heard her ask, "tell me I heard Wife not Wives?!?!" Gulping he shook his head, then said, "for some reason I had three rings on my ring finger, one black and purple. The black looked like one of those lines on the beeping machines from a hospital, the next was gold and red, the red looking like raindrops. The last one was pink and gold, it had a pattern that looked like crosses made of gold. The strangest part was they came apart and stuck together almost like puzzle pieces I could put them in any order too."

Hearing that detail her eyes widened in shock, then she asked, "how many kids do you have, also what are your wives names?" Without thinking Izuku blurted out, "four with one on the way, Kyoka had twins the first time, Mei had a little boy, and Himiko had a girl. Mei is pregnant with her second child" ,then his eyes went wide with shock and he whispered, "what the fuck did I just say?!?!" Inko gasped hearing all that, the last part sent her heart into overdrive and she said, "Izuku Midorya you will not speak like that again! Not around me and certainly not before your grandfather is dead!" ,at that his eyes lost all light, as a few tears slipped out him nodding.

Seeing that her heart felt heavy and she whispered, "h-how bad is it?" ,he shook his head sadly then opened his mouth. The problem was that the words wouldn't come, no matter how hard he tried he couldn't get it out. Grabbing a pen and paper he worked on writing what he knew, it wasn't perfect and he was crying the entire time. Pushing the paper over his mom picked it up, reading it broke her heart and she was sobbing by the end of the note.

Bad worse than bad!!! Devi deva heartbreaking!!! Stage four lung cancer, after my stepdad leaves us to raise his sons to be great heroes. He still helps us out but it's not like now, not ever again but it also pushes me to become a therapist??? What's a therapist mom, why does it hurt so much to picture those times??? Why does it feel so good to think of helping others with their problems?!?!?!

Still crying his mother asked , "stage four and a-after that?" ,that was a mistake, as Mitsuki jumped off the couch and ran over. She took the note from Inko and scanned it quickly, then looked at Izuku saying, "I'm so sorry Izuku!" She pulled him into a hug and asks, "who has stage four cancer?" ,the soft voice is barely there. However she is close enough to hear, "Grandpa Fukoshi will, when I turn twelve" ,she looks at us both and blinks. Pulling his mother into the hug as well she says, "Inko explain everything now and don't you dare lie to your sister!"

Before she gets the chance Izuku say's, "grandpa has a quirk, it apparently skips a generation, according to him at least. The details are fading Auntie so ask what you want to know now" ,she looks at Inko as if for permission. His mom nods, she then asks, "why is Bakugo saying he wants to be quirkless?" ,the story of the first dream spills from his lips. Her eyes are filled with horror and sadness, she looks back at her son on the couch, a few seconds later he is in the hug. Then she asks, "how do you know about all this?" ,the now more sparse details of the second dream come out. The Bakugo's looks at him like every word he says is the most important ones they will ever hear, Kaachan sobbing softly.

Lastly Mitsuki asks, "how can you write so well and read already?" ,he says how when they read a story they will follow the Kanji with a finger. Once they all had calmed down Izuku said, "hey mom can you go get me a thin hardcover book, something not important please." She is confused but lets go and heads off to do just that, within a few minutes she is back and hands Izuku the book. Stepping away from them all he copies what he did in the dream where Dabi and his family were in his office.

All three of them look at him shocked and then he does it again while smiling, the last time he laughs and hands her back the book saying, "thank you mom." She takes it and asks, "why did you do that Izuku?" ,he says, "it truly was worth it for the shocked reactions." That causes her and the other two to laugh and then Bakugo says, "Deku you nerd, already preparing for the future I see." Izuku laughs and says, "well yeah I mean that book was thick, easily the a good five centimeters, and it had a dent after."

The first thing his mother did after putting the book away was call her dad, she warned him what was possibly coming. That day he quit smoking and went straight to the hospital, he had signs of pre-cancer complications getting treatment. After that day time seemed to pass both slowly and fast, six months later Bakugo had manifested his quirk. Unlike the dream though Izuku didn't go for a high five, he had to hug Bakugo to get him to calm down.

A few months later Bakugo had started to master his quirk, Izuku already practicing with his. Shortly before they both turned eight Izuku knew how to trigger the quirk before sleeping, and how to see far into the future. Around that time he had started to call his stepfather Pops, in an effort to try and prevent him from leaving them both. By his ninth birthday Izuku could choose how far into the future he wanted to see, as well as control how fast time passed in the dream. It didn't help though, each future he saw grandpa was dead from lung cancer, and his stepfather left them, some better, some worse.

A full six months after he left the first time his stepfather and brothers moved out, but there was a note left on his desk when he got home. It said, "Izuku I know you will be sad about this but I still love you son, Mirio and Jikiru need me. Your quirk is amazing, you helped me get better with mine I promise to return for you and your mother someday. Till then keep her safe, I'm counting on you to be the man of the house until we all come back, love you, stay strong!"

That night he cried himself to sleep but made sure to do his nightly routine, a small glass of juice with blood mixed in. As he dreamed he couldn't control it this time, he wasn't even himself, and he fell to his death. Stalagmite piercing his chest he lay there his eyes reflecting on a pool of water that slowly was turning red. Oddly enough he felt at peace, when he woke up he ran away from home for the first time, leaving his mother a note.

His said, "mom there's something I need to do, don't worry about me will be home in a week maybe two, I love you more than you can imagine, stay strong!!!" As she read it her eyes started to fill with tears and her first bout with depression started, till she saw the end. Reading it twice more her eyes hardened, a will of iron being forged as she sobbed, salt quenched iron. The next day she got up like normal, a phone call interrupted breakfast, she answered and that was the day her will cracked. Her father had cancer, it was moving slowly, but was drug resistant, he had another two years at most.

At the time her will was cracking Izuku was in front of Shota Aizowa's house, he knocked on the door and waited. A few seconds later it opened and Ms. Joke in full costume answered, she asked what he wanted and who he was. Two sentences later she had him in her arms and was calling the best therapist she knew, Miss Midnight. That day Izuku's life changed forever, the next he was in the area where he met Dabi for the first time in his dreams. It actually took him only two more days to meet Dabi, a full week before he was supposed to and they became allies. Then he returned home after giving Dabi a small notebook full of details about him, their friends and how or when to possibly meet them except for a few.

Well that's all for this chapter, I know there are probably a lot of mistakes, but it just flowed so naturally, it took me a bit over a day to write this. Don't expect a chapter every few days, I will write when I feel like it, that being said a few chapters have bits and pieces formed in my mind already. The one where he meets Kyoka and of course the cute but clearly clueless Mei, oh and Himiko obviously, see you all on the flip side.
