It was a bright and sunny day on the island. It was rather hot too. The sun shone down on the unconscious 14 year old boy.
Sora groans as he slowly opens his eyes. He shielded them from the shining sun and slowly sat up, peering at the endless sea at head.
Sora yawns and stretches his arms and laid back down to take another nap. But then a female figure suddenly appeared in his vision. A very familiar face that Sora knew all too well.
"Woah!" Sora exclaimed, shooting up from the ground in shock. The girl next to Sora giggled at the sudden reaction. "Gimme a break, Kairi!"
Kairi rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Sora, you lazy bum! I knew I'd find you snoozing over here!"
Sora puts his hands up defensively. "No! You don't get it! There was this huge black thing that attacked me! And then there was this other black thing that swallowed me up! I couldn't breathe, I couldn't-" While in the middle of his rambling, Kairi knocked some sense into Sora's head. "Ow!"
"Are you dreaming again, Sora?" Kairi asked the boy with a raised eyebrow.
"No! It wasn't a dream! It was... It felt so real..." Sora glanced at the ocean and the bright blue sky. "What was that place? So bizarre..." Sora sighed and then turned his attention to Kairi who walked past him and towards the waters. "Say, Kairi. What was your hometown like? You know, where you grew up?"
Kairi giggled at the question. "I told you already! I can't remember!"
Sora raised an eyebrow. "Nothing at all?"
"Nope!" Kairi replied.
"Don't you wanna? Don't you wanna go back to that place?"
Kairi stood there for a brief moment, thinking. Then she turned around to look at Sora. "Well. I'm happy here!" Kairi then turned around again to stare off into the distance. "Although... I wouldn't mind to go see and visit it. Just once."
Sora grinned and placed his arms behind his head. "Yeah! I wanna see it too! Along with all the many different worlds out there!I wanna see 'em all!"
"Hey!" A new but also familiar voice called out to the two. Sora and Kairi turned to look at their best friend, Riku who was carrying a large log. "Don't you forget about me! Guess I'm the only one finishing up the raft!"
Riku walks over to Sora and tosses the log on him, Sora yelps as the log crashes onto him. Kairi giggled and Riku sat down on the sand between the two. "And you're just as lazy as he is!" Riku exclaimed at Kairi.
Kairi gave out a sly smirk. "So you've noticed? Well, okay then! Let's finish the raft together!"
Sora removes the log from off himself and sat up. "Yeah! Teamwork makes the dream work!"
"He's right!" Kairi exclaims. "We'll race you!"
Riku gave out an amused huff. "What? You serious?"
"Hey, that sounds like fun!" Sora said happily.
Riku rolled his eyes and grinned. "Well, if you're up for it. Then I don't see why not."
Kairi smiled. She began to count. "Alright! One..."
Sora and Riku smirked as they got up from the sand.
"Two..."
The two boys assumed a running position, ready to beat the other.
"Three..."
Sora and Riku glanced at each other and nodded with smirks on their faces.
"GO!"
And off they go! Sora and Riku ran as fast as their legs can with Kairi following behind as she giggles. The two boys were always the most athletic of the kids on the island but that didn't stop the two of them from becoming fast friends with everyone and each other.
The trio run off to the other side of the island as they all laughed together. The future was looking quite bright for the three kids! It was a great day ahead of them!

...
CORE Frisk was happily humming away as they took a stroll down one of the many streets of the Omega Timeline.
They sighed and thought to themselves. This place was their proudest creation. Being able to create a hub world where all these citizens from many different worlds can all reside together in peace.
Needless to say, CORE is going to cherish this place forever.
But then, CORE was broken out of their thoughts as a voice called out to them. "HEY! WAIT UP!"
CORE turned around to see two figures in lab coats running towards him. It was a Scientist Sans and an Alphys that looks to be from the classic world. Well, one of them anyways.
"What seems to be the problem, you two?" CORE asked the two scientists calmly.
"You gonna tell 'em, Al?" Sans gestured to the grey child.
Alphys sweat dropped a bit as she adjusts her glasses. She stammers a bit before speaking. "W-Well. We-We were just going about our daily jobs. Y'know, checking the stability of the multiverse and stuff, but then... A-An alarmingly amount of dots began to disappear from the radar!"
CORE stood there, their facial expression not changing. They put a finger on their chin. "Hm. That does sound worrisome. Mind if I see it for myself?"
Alphys gulped and chuckled nervously. "O-Of course! Sans?"
Sans closed his eyes and put his hand in his pockets. "Don't worry. I know a shortcut!" Sans then snaps his fingers and suddenly, all three people found themselves in what seemed to be a laboratory.
"Alright, now show me what's going on." CORE requested.
Alphys and Sans head over to the computer and began typing on separate keyboards and pressing a few buttons. A few moments later and the large screen on the wall lit up, showing a radar and multiple dots, representing the worlds in the multiverse.
"I know it looks normal but-but just look closely!" Alphys exclaimed while pointing at the screen.
CORE followed Alphys's finger to where she was pointing at and noticed that multiple dots at the outer circle were, in fact, disappearing. At a rapid pace too.
CORE observed the dots go dark one by one. "Do you think it could be Error again?" CORE asked the reptile scientist.
"I-I don't know!" Alphys exclaimed. "I-It's been a while since he had made a move b-but I don't think even he would pull a stunt like this!" The scientist put out her own cents while more dots blinked out.
"Hmm..." CORE stared at the radar, witnessing the dots go dark one by one. CORE then closed their eyes and began to sense for whatever is causing all this.
They tried to reach out to whoever is responsible...
But there was no answer.
No response.
Just... Darkness.
Pure darkness...
CORE's eyes snapped open. Alphys took notice of this. "Is something alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." CORE reassured the scientist. "It's just... The energy I just felt... It felt so... Dark. So... Malicious..." And yet, all so familiar.
Alphys looked at the child with concern. "W-What do you mean by that?"
"It seems the situation is even bigger than what I initially believed." CORE explained which did not make the reptile feel any better.
"I-I-I don't get what you mean!" Alphys exclaimed, feeling a bit scared.
"Don't worry about it." CORE stated before turning around and heading towards the door.
"Hey, where are ya goin'?" Sans asked CORE.
CORE turned around to look at the two scientists. "To contact an old friend of mine." This answer only made Sans and Alphys glance at each other with confused looks. "Don't think too much about it. Just focus on observing that radar. Perhaps we can find some clues."
With no objections, Alphys and Sans continued to observe the various screens in the room. Meanwhile, CORE exited the room through the door and entered the hallway.
Once they were alone, CORE sighed. That energy they felt earlier... It felt so... So full of anger... Hatred... An energy they felt a long, long time ago.
If the dots were connected, then something terrible was going to happen if they don't act quickly. First things first, they need to contact an old acquaintance and the next thing to do after that is...
Is to find that key.
To be continued...
