A/N I know it's been a while, but an update is an update! ENJOY!
Astrid woke up at the crack of dawn, the rest of the girls were sound asleep, well all with the exception of Uraraka. Astrid quietly slipped out of bed and snuck out of the hut, Uraraka doing the same shortly after.
Astrid made her way to the stables, admiring the sun on its way up, its orange glow was one of the reasons she got up this early.
Stormfly was chirping before Astrid even had the doors open.
"Good morning to you too, girl," Astrid said, grabbing a piece of fish making her way over to Stormfly, "You ready to go patrol?"
Stormfly excitedly chirped a few times.
Astrid opened the gate to her stall and threw her a fish. Stormfly caught it out of the air as Uraraka made it into the stables.
"Good morning!" She said.
Astrid grabbed her axe, preparing to throw it at her then stopped, "Oh, Uraraka, you scared me."
"I'm sorry! I couldn't sleep!" Uraraka shouted, waving her hands in front of her, "Then when you got up I decided to follow you."
Astrid felt bad about scaring the younger girl; "Did you want to go on patrol with me?"
Uraraka nodded silently.
Astrid strapped her axe to her back then grabbed Stormfly's saddle and fastened it to Stormfly. Astrid climbed into the saddle and helped Uraraka get on.
"Ready?"
"Ready!"
"Come on girl, let's go," Astrid said, then the trio shot off into the morning sun.
Hiccup was lighting the fire in the clubhouse when Snotlout came in, almost tripping over Toothless; "Ugh, why did I have to get up so early?"
"Good morning to you too, Snotlout."
Snotlout grunted in response and flopped onto a stool in the corner of the room.
"I need your help with the nets, we are going to need a lot more fish than we usually do."
"But I need my beauty rest," Snotlout groaned.
"And the island needs your weaving skills," Hiccup said, pulling out a heap of fishing nets.
Snotlout groaned and moved towards the nets and began to untangle the heap, "I can't believe we need all of these," he said.
Hiccup wasn't sure what he was thinking yesterday when he said that all of the heroes from the future could stay. Right now he wasn't sure how he was going to feed them all breakfast, let alone the other meals. There was enough oatmeal for everyone to have a bowl, but they didn't have enough bowls and that would be the last of the oatmeal. And there were still two meals to go and then tomorrow. How did his father do this?
Hiccup sighed, he had to deal with breakfast first and everything else could come later. He stacked up some firewood and grabbed the largest pot they had, which was quite large thanks to the twins hoarding.
"Toothless," Hiccup said, making his way out of the club house for some fresh water, "Can you start the fire?"
Toothless grumbled in response and made his way to the fire pit.
Aizawa was woken up by Hiccup and Toothless stirring, but he stayed under his blanket. Part of him didn't want Hiccup to feel bad for waking him and the other part of him was still hoping that this was a dream that he had yet to wake from.
He waited for Hiccup and Toothless to exit the hut before sitting up in his makeshift bed and slipping on his prosthetic. He was pretty used to it now but he didn't want to show it off, he was lucky that his hero costume could hide his leg without any modifications. He couldn't be bothered with costume modifications with all the stuff they had going on; he had to train to get back into fighting shape to support his students.
He got out of bed and naturally looked for a coffee pot for a few seconds before it clicked, he wasn't sure if the vikings had coffee.
Oh no.
This was going to be a long day.
Endeavour got up not long after Aizawa, the two made silent eye contact agreeing to chat outside. They silently made their way out of the hut to not disturb the two students still asleep.
"I'm assuming you have a plan?" Endeavour asked.
"I plan to continue the students' training."
"You know that's not what I mean."
Aizawa thought for a moment, "I don't know what we can do from here. Their technology is much behind ours and they don't even have quirks. There isn't much for us to do on this end. We have to rely on Nedzu to get us back."
Endeavour frowned, "You know I don't like to sit back and wait."
"Neither do I, but there is nothing for us to do-"
"Or we just haven't thought of it," a voice said from behind.
"Midoriya, what are you doing up?" Aizawa asked, turning around to see Iida and Midoryia behind them.
"We heard you get up," Iida said.
"How much of our conversation did you hear?" Endeavour asked.
"Most of it," Midoryia said, "It sounded pretty hopeless."
Aizawa sighed, "Do not repeat any of this conversation to your classmates. I have to speak with Hiccup and see if he has any way of helping us before I come up with anything."
"This conversation stays with us!" Iida said, with Midoryia just nodding along.
"The only things I know for certain right now is that I will be continuing your training and that Nedzu is looking for us."
"If anyone can find us it's Nedzu!" Midoryia said.
Aizawa inwardly smiled, this kid always had an optimistic outlook.
"So, what exactly are we looking for?" Uraraka asked from the back of Stormfly.
"Anything out of the ordinary," Astrid said scanning the ground below.
"Um, I don't really know what the ordinary is," She said, her voice shaking.
"Just look for any ships or anything destroyed or on fire."
"Okay, I can do that!"
The pair flew in silence scanning the perimeter of the island.
"See that down there," Astrid said, pointing to the beach.
"See what?" Uraraka asked, squinting her eyes, but not seeing anything out of the ordinary.
"Stormfly, down!"
Stormfly didn't hesitate and quickly began a spiral descent. As they got closer to the ground Uraraka was able to see what Astrid was pointing out.
"Is that a campfire?" She asked.
"Just what's left of one."
They landed and quickly dismounted. Stormfly began to sniff around the fire and the beach trying to pick up any unfamiliar scents.
"Was there anyone else that came here with you?" Astrid asked, doing her best to not sound angry.
"E-everyone that was in the common room at the time of the villain attack are a-accounted for."
"What about the villain?"
Uraraka paused, "I-I don't know. Could he still be here?" She failed to hide the fear in her voice.
"I don't think so," Astrid said, crouching near the fire, "These coals are cold, and Stormfly keeps on losing the scent near the ocean. There's no ship in sight."
Uraraka looked over to see Stormfly try and track the scent into the water and not having much luck.
"That means this is a lot bigger than a villain attack."
"Yeah. We need to tell Hiccup."
Uraraka nodded. They both climbed onto Stormfly and flew back to the edge.
He had followed the plan perfectly. He wasn't able to get all of the 1-A brats but he got the green haired one and the explody one.
He had just started a fire when the familiar boat with a crest of a flaming fist on the sail came into view. It would still take them a while to get to shore and he was cold, it was a side effect of using his quirk, especially when using a quirk enhancer.
It felt good to finally be able to use his quirk without being punished, he and his twin brother were actually sought out for their quirk. It felt good to be wanted and he didn't care that society saw them as the villains.
A/N So, what did you think? I've added more plot! Please leave me a review with your thought and predictions!
