As she learns of the damage she's caused she slowly realizes they might not be better off mortal. A darker take with hopefully better writing.

Percy comes back to the Camp he called home for the past six years to find out that everything has changed, his beloved has moved on to be with his brother, if you can even classify Dennis as his brother anymore. So Percy does the only sensible thing, he runs. Runs from his old life to a new one. He went to Olympus to end his life but came out with a new one. (Pertemis)
