(Author's Notes: Hey everyone! How are you all doing? It has been a long while since I updated this story, has it not? I apologize for the long wait, and hope this long chapter makes up for it, even if it's only a little bit.
Before I say or do anything else, I want to give honor and glory to God. Thank you Jesus Christ for helping me to get my butt back into gear! I have been distracted and put off for too long, and it is thanks to you that I managed to get my lazy behind off the couch and back into gear! I also want to thank you Lord for the wonderful family you have graciously allowed me to be in, loved and raised! Thank you Lord for the wonderful friends you have guided me to! And thank you Jesus for the opportunities presented to me that allow me to praise you more & glorify you more! All the honor, glory, praise and more go to only you God!
I ask the Lord to also bless and look after my friends here at this site who have helped me to improve & sharpen my skills. Not just my writing skills and thinking, but also have been willing to lend me an ear and more whenever something drastic came into my life that I needed their aid.

While I have been working on my other projects for people, I have been thinking long and hard on this story in the process. You see, thanks to Dreams and certain other Authors, I have received knowledge concerning some of the actions certain large media companies like Disney, Marvel, DC Comics, Fox and more have done in the past & in the present. Even anime companies as well! It only leaves more upset and disappointed at the route the companies are taking, and also disappointed that many characters with so much potential and possibilities were drastically reduced either to fan-base popularity or the WOKE/New Normal problem that is sweeping through almost everything in a negative way.
I want to really show the full potential, promise and purpose of the characters here. Both major and minor characters to be shown in a new, creative light that showcases their full growth in many areas. And also to work on the development of the story, plot and outline of my crossover here. To make sure that all grow, which will take time, effort, coordination, collaboration with those I trust & insight. But I believe it will be worth it in the long run.
In this chapter, a sparring battle takes place. It becomes quite fierce, but it is necessary. And also theories come to light concerning some of the characters, and also some last minute planning that will enable certain others to contribute to the training of Danny and others. There will also be a flashback, and revelations that will aid Danny in his development.
And also I have been working on how to develop the ladies; the ones training with Danny, the ones that will be training under Yume and Inukami & finally those that will undergo their own development in a unique way. But rest assured; all of them will get a chance to hang out with Danny, thus building up a foundation. It will be slow and steady, but organic and real as best as can be.
The theories and ideas I have are vastly different from the cannon series of various shows, but I believe it is for the better.
I will continue to hope and pray the best for the country I live in. I will continue to hope and pray that the people remember the many fine lines that used to be visible in the past. The small, subtle differences that are quite significant & make the entire difference between what is right & wrong. And that certain barriers/boundaries/limits were set up in the first place for a very good reason.

I wish to do this for my Tia Pamela Espurova-Allen, and will keep doing it until some solid news comes in. She is working with police and other official groups to locate and bring home a missing girl that is part of a family she works with & has befriended.
Her name is Lina Khil, a little girl that was taken on December 20th, 2021. The search is still on for her, but so far… no luck.
Her information is this: She was four years old when she was abducted; hair brown, eyes brown, race Afghan, weight 55 lbs. & height 4'0. If any can help to locate and find her, please do so and notify the proper authorities. Hoping and praying still that she is found alive & returned to her family. They have put up a special about her on TV thanks to the San Antonio Police Department. Any information you wish to seek about her you can search for online, and hopefully it will help to find her and bring her back home safely.

When Danny and the ladies arrive, it is at the very early stages of the Piccolo Jr. Saga, at the exact moment when Shen Long was revived and granted the wish of bringing those that were killed by Demon King Piccolo and his minions back to life. And with a three-year gap before the next tournament, it would give Danny and his date's ample time to explore the new reality/world they are in & to collect the Dragon Balls.
Danny Phantom is a cartoon series that was created by Butch Hartman, developed by Steve Marmel. The series aired on April 2004, the network that released it was Nickelodeon. The production companies were Billionford Inc. and Nickelodeon Animation Studios, with the distributors being Viacom International Inc. and Nelvana. Look for my Danny Phantom series and specials when getting the chance, if you please. This takes place after the episode De-Stabilized, but before Phantom Planet. And also, said last episode will NOT be featured here.
DragonBall is a manga/anime series that was written by Akira Toriyama, published by Shueisha Inc. with North America published by Viz Media. The manga was created in December 1984, ending in June 1995 with forty-two volumes. The anime was directed by Minoru Okazaki & Daisuke Nisho, produced by Tokizō Tsuchiya/Kenji Shimizu/Jun'ichi Ishikawa. Studio was Toei Animation, licensed by Funimation Entertainment for North America. Original network that broadcasted it was Fuji TV, with multiple English networks such as Cartoon Network Toonami and Funimation Channel. It ran from February 1986 to April 1989.
If you wish, use your imagination and put in any kind of song/music intro from any anime series with the Intro and Outro here. And also, so no one is confused, this is DragonBall & not DragonBall Z. And also, not going to follow the Dragonball Super anime or manga series in any way. And not going to follow the current, too-many reboot/remake arcs to name that have been cropping up recently.

Theories and Planning
Danny looked to the ancient master of martial arts and replied to him with a smile on his face, "Sure thing Master Roshi!". He soon changed back into his Phantom-form, the group still impressed on the transformation though it did vary from mild to moderate.
He then inquired, "So, what do you want me to do now?".
Master Roshi answered him in a light but firm tone, "You and me will having a sparring session.".
Now this surprised Danny and the others, but not those native to the world. He had assumed that he would show off his abilities like firing his ecto-rays, going intangible, becoming invisible or showing his ice power. But sparring against the Turtle Hermit was the last thing he had expected. He looked over the 300+ year old man, seeing his form and automatically assuming that any kind of spar would be tough on his body & health.
The Fenton lad gave him a look of concern and inquired, "Umm… are you sure about that Master Roshi? I mean, I look healthy for someone your age but…".
Master Roshi just gave a hearty chuckle and replied in a light, jovial tone, "Hohohoho! My boy, don't worry about me! I am not called the Turtle Master for nothing you know! So while I do appreciate your concern, don't think that my age will be a liability here!".
Tien added in, "Believe me Danny, age is not an obstacle or issue with Master Roshi at all. He can handle himself very well in a fight.". He knew this from experience, as he had fought Master Roshi when he was in his alter-ego persona Jackie Chun. He saw first-hand that the elderly man did not let a thing like age slow him down in any capacity.
The blue-haired beauty Launch smiled and proclaimed happily, "Yes! Master Roshi is very good at fighting! I remember when he took care of some mean solders that were from the Red Ribbon Army! They came to kidnap us, but Master Roshi beat them up easily!".
Indeed, it was years ago but Launch remembered that day very well when the terrifying army had come to the Kame House on Roshi's island. A whole platoon was there, led by Captain Dark of the Blue Corps.- Company B. He had come to the house to seek out Master Roshi, whom Commander Red & Officer Black had assumed that he was a scientist that was aiding Goku when he was searching for the Dragonballs.
That was a mistaken concept, one that had cost Capt. Dark as his whole platoon was decimated by Master Roshi! He defeated them all quickly, and also displayed some amazing techniques such as catching machine gun rounds while a soldier was firing at him! He had managed to snag ALL of the bullets, and his hands were unharmed completely!
Danny was still unsure about the whole affair, but seeing the confidence from Roshi and the others, he relented and stated that he would do it. He then asked on where they should spar, and it was Diana who spoke up. Miss Lombard suggested, "Why not have your spar at the very end of the compound? It's far away from the structures, and it will be easier for us to clean up should things get more intense.".
Master Roshi nodded his head and replied, "Good suggestion Diana-chan. Okay everyone, let's go!". He started to walk towards the back of the compound, which was the runways that the RR air vehicles used to land there. Near the end of said runways was a tall white tower that was perhaps the Control Tower, the place where the officers gave commands/instructions on when or where to land & come in.
The others followed Master Roshi, and during the walk conversation took place. Cree looked to Yamcha and inquired in a curious tone, "So… is Master Roshi really all that? That he can still fight despite his age?".
The user of the Wolf-Fang Fist technique smiled and answered her in a tone that was confident, "Heh, he really is Cree. Believe me, Master Roshi is the real deal. I sparred with him once some time ago. I asked him to take me in since I wanted to start over in my training, to really improve myself by studying under him. He really showed me that I still have much to learn.".
It was true; shortly after getting back to Kame House on the small island, Master Roshi had told Yamcha to spar with him to see where he stood. He agreed to… and the elderly master had countered all of his swift attacks with such precision and skill that it was amazing! And he managed to get through Yamcha's defenses handily, showing to his future pupil that he indeed had much to learn.
It was a humbling experience for Yamcha, but the one who taught himself the Wolf-style had actually appreciated it & thanked Roshi for the fight as it showed he still had much to learn & also much to improve on.
Krillin commented in a tone that showed much pride for his teacher/master, "Yup! Master Roshi is a legend still in many martial arts circles! They still call him the Invincible One, saying that no one could defeat him in battle!".
Bulma was the one who burst his bubble by putting in, "Well, he may be called that but he's not completely invincible. Remember what happened when we got ambushed by that creepy General Blue guy?". This has Krillin's face take on a stunned look, then realizing that the light-blue haired beauty had a point.
Barbara had a curious look on her face as she asked, "Really? What happened between you and this General Blue?".
Miss Brief then told the group on how she, Krillin and Goku had come back to Roshi's island after managing to acquire the Three-Star Dragonball & escape from an underground pirate base that was collapsing. Unfortunately for them, General Blue of the RR Army had managed to survive and tracked them down. And after a little mishap with Blonde Launch, that is when Blue struck by using his psychic powers to tie them up with rope. And apparently it was so strong that not even Master Roshi could break free from it.
The lovely inventor told them that Blue had managed to get the Dragonballs that Goku had collected, and left behind a powerful bomb that would have destroyed them. But it was thanks to Launch, coming back in her Good-form, that they were able to survive. She cut the ropes that held Goku, who threw the bomb away with five seconds to spar, and soon gave chase to General Blue.
Bulma finished up, "After the ordeal, Krillin asked Master Roshi on why he couldn't break free from the ropes. He told us that the ropes were covered in his energy that made it impossible to draw on his own strength to break free from it. So while Master Roshi is pretty capable, he is not invincible completely.".
This was certainly some worthwhile information for the group, especially for certain others like Barbara who now knew that Master Roshi had another weakness. It was thanks to Batman's training that certain maxims were etched into her brain, such as always be aware of her surroundings, the people she met and to gather data/information that could exploit weakness in anyone she deemed a threat.
Thankfully though, she did not share Bruce's cold analytical concept like so. He had gained it while very young and training from certain masters back in their world, she had been taught by her father to be aware… but also to be trusting as well. So while she did have knowledge on the others so far, she was not analyzing everything in a cool, calculated/obsessive way. Barbara was still a teenage girl that liked to be social, but in a positive aspect that was different from her mentor.
All of them soon arrived at the end of the runway, the group standing to the side while Danny & Master Roshi face one another, making sure to have some distance between the duo & themselves. The Turtle Hermit asked Krillin to take and watch over his staff and shell, the bald but potent fighter nodding his head & taking said objects from his master and to the sidelines.
The goofy but capable hermit started to do some various stretches, getting the kinks out of his body. Danny stood there watching, waiting patiently for Master Roshi to finish up his stretches. Once he was through, he asked the Turtle Hermit, "Okay Master Roshi, what are the rules of the spar?".
He answered, "Not much. I really want to see what you are capable of, so there are only three rules. One, no killing blows. Two, the boundaries is the brick wall that separates the base from the outside. The entire runway on all sides is fair game, but touching the hanger or the tower is out of bounds. And finally, the match ends when one says mercy.".
Danny nodded his head, then got into his fighting stance. But he noticed that Master Roshi was not going into a fighting stance, rather just standing there with his hands behind his back. He was perplexed and it showed on his face, soon asking the martial arts master, "Umm… are you going to take a stance Master Roshi?".
He chuckled softly and answered, "I'm good Danny. Believe me, I'm all ready.". The halfa hero was not sure of that, but he just took the hermit's word for it.
It was Kim Possible that stood forward, raising her right arm up and declaring, "Okay then! This is a sparring match between Danny Phantom and Master Roshi! Combatants ready?". Danny nodded, a serious look on his face while Master Roshi remained neutral. Kim had been part of many sparring sessions back when she was learning martial arts, so she knew how to referee a match like so.
She then declared, "Okay then… BEGIN!". She threw her right arm down like a chop, and thus the sparring match began!
Danny decided to on the offense first, quickly flying towards Master Roshi with some impressive speed! He threw in a right punch at the Turtle Master, but Roshi just leaned appropriately and evaded the attack. Danny stopped himself quick and threw another punch, but again Master Roshi evaded the blow like it was nothing. The halfa hero than tried a right-leg thrust kick, but the elderly man simply dodged yet again.
The young man from another universe was certainly surprised by this, but he kept up the attacks. Unfortunately for him, Master Roshi just kept dodging and evading like it was nothing! Heck, he even kept his hands behind his back and looked so casual while he evaded the punches and kicks!
The Fenton lad's thoughts were like so, "W-What?! How can he be so fast to dodge my attacks?! I know he is a master, but his age… he shouldn't be able to dodge so swiftly!'.
Meanwhile, the others were seeing the fight and were amazed so far on how easily Master Roshi was evading Danny's blows. The ones that were seasoned masters of fighting & martial arts recognized the more subtle but incredible things in the match. Penny exclaimed, "Whoo! Danny is sure fast with those punches and kicks, but that Roshi is just evading them like they were slow!".
April O'Neil replied but with her thoughts, 'You're actually not far off there Penny! While Phantom's attacks are swift, they are slow when compared to someone like Master Roshi! And speaking of which, he's evading those attacks wonderfully! He is only using minimal energy to avoid the attacks, not going overboard or wide like some do when they dodge a punch or kick!'.
Makoto Kino was thinking along the same lines as April, her own thoughts being like so, 'Master Roshi is very skillful, even more than even my own karate teachers back home! He is not wasting any energy or movements like that! Amazing!'.
After a few minutes, Master Roshi did a small leap back to avoid a roundhouse sweeping kick from Danny. He stated in a light tone, "I have to say this, you certainly are no slouch when it comes to fighting Danny my boy.".
But he soon spoke in a serious tone, "You look like you have seen some combat, but you waste so many energy with excessive movement.".
When he said those words, it brought up a memory from Yamcha, Bulma, Puar and Oolong. It took them back to the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament that Goku and the others entered, and how Yamcha had been paired up against Jackie Chun. The martial artist thought, 'Wait! This whole thing… it really is similar to how I fought against Jackie in the first round! Even what Master Roshi just said was almost the same thing Jackie told me!'.
He would have concluded that Master Roshi and Jackie Chun were the same person, like he believed back in the first tournament, but Yamcha shook his head as that was not possible. He had seen the two at the same time… or rather, he had seen the fighter Nam in disguise to look like Master Roshi from within the crowd!
You see, Nam was an Indian monk who was a pacifist at heart. He had entered the 21st tournament as well, but it was to buy water for his village home who had been in a terrible drought. He had managed to defeat the woman fighter Ran… though it was tough for him due to the seductive siren using her feminine charm against Nam, who had blushed badly and turned away due to him being very shy around beautiful women. He had managed to defeat her by closing his eyes, dodging her strike and giving one karate chop to the neck that knocked her out.
However, he had lost to Goku in the Semi-Final Round. And it was Master Roshi that revealed to himself to Nam, who had been surprised to discover this but Roshi managed to quiet him down before he could blab the secret out. The ancient master told Nam the reason he went in tournament disguised like so, which was to make sure Goku and Krillin lost the tournament. He reasoned that if either of them won the tournament on their first try, they would become arrogant and stop improving themselves. So he went through all the trouble of disguising himself & entering so that he could defeat them, and to show them that there was always someone out there better & to keep on improving themselves.
Nam was given a Capsule which Roshi told him it could hold vast quantities of water, and later showed him a well nearby & stated that water was not as scarce as it was in the desert. That it was free, and this stunned Nam that he had entered the tournament not knowing this information. He had thanked Roshi for the help, which the Turtle Hermit had asked to return the favor by disguising himself as him for a little bit in order to fool Yamcha.
The trick had worked, and thus the secret of Jackie Chun & Master Roshi being the same person was kept.
Danny was starting to get annoyed by this, on how his attacks were easily evaded. Let it be known that the young Fenton lad had started to realize his shortcomings only for a short time, reflecting on himself deeply in order to see how much he had come up short in many aspects & ways. But his ego/pride was still a barrier to him, and even though he had gotten beaten by many enemies in the past, he had gone back to defeat them. This caused him to believe that he could take on anyone given his status as a halfa, and what it granted him.
But now after hearing that there were other superheroes/superheroines like him that could give him a run for his money, hearing about potent martial artists & how they use the life energy known as ki, and seeing his attacks ineffective against an old master… his old habits/ways of thinking were starting to seep back into him.
There was also something else holding him back…
Phantom then flew into the air, hovering about twenty feet above the ground. Roshi looked up, his sunglasses casting a brief shimmer as he gazed to his opponent/pupil. Danny exclaimed, "Okay then, let's try something new!".
He held out his right hand with his palms spread open, green energy gathering in said area before it blasted out towards the Turtle Hermit. Bulma and the others were surprised at this, except the others as they had seen Danny in action before concerning Vicky and the Power Suit. Miss Aidith scowled at seeing it, as it brought back the memory of her defeat.
However, Master Roshi did not seem worried at all. He stood calmly in his position, then did a small hop to the right to avoid the emerald blast. It did not make an explosion, but did leave a small black scorch mark on the ground. Oolong called out in surprise, "Whoa! What in the heck was that?!".
It was Katie that answered the anthro shapeshifting pig, "Danny calls it an Ecto-Ray, a blast made of ecto energy which is what ghosts are made of.".
Tien, Chiaotzu and Master Roshi felt something from the ray when Danny fired it. The three-eyed martial artist thought to himself, 'Strange… that ray feels like ki, but it has some mystical properties to it. Not like ki, but close to it. It actually feels like raw Spirit energy, refined a little but mostly just concentrated.'.
Master Roshi still kept his eyes on the halfa hero, then called out in a mocking tone, "Nice blast there son! Too bad I dodged it! Now come on, show me what you got!".
Danny gave off a small growl of annoyance, extending his other arm and starting to rain down energy blasts at Master Roshi! The move was impressive to the eyes of most, but it was Tien and Barbara that saw the weakness of the move. Both thought at the same time, 'Danny's blasts are fast, but there is a delay of about five seconds between the blasts. So while that may seem fast for others, it's a bit slow for those who are experienced & have quick reflexes.'.
Tien, Yamcha, Krillin and Chiaotzu also started to see something else. That if Danny was able to use energy blasts in such a way like he was doing now… why not them with their ki techniques? So they started to observe more closely, and get their brains working concerning the thought.
Meanwhile, the Turtle Master continued to hop around, evading the energy blasts while humming a little tune. It was something he did when he caught the machine gun rounds from the RR solider some years ago. To him, it was like a little game.
After a few minutes of firing his blasts without getting any positive results, Danny decided to switch it up. His left hand turned from green to blue, this time covered in a thin layer of mist. He then shot it down at Master Roshi, who did a flip to dodge the blue projectile. When it hit the ground, it did not explode but covered the spot in a foot-diameter of ice!
Danny called out to the ancient master, "Hope you like to chill out to my Cryokinesis, Roshi!". He started to pelt the hand between his regular green blasts & the blue-colored ice blasts, Master Roshi continuing to be pushed back but the Turtle Master didn't seem to be fazed by it.
In fact, Master Roshi was examining the ground where the ice orbs made contact. He thought to himself even as he continued to deftly dodge the fireball-like projectiles, 'Hmmm… the ice looks thicker than regular ice, which means it would be difficult to melt through with fire. And while he can shoot it quickly, it's a few seconds slower than his regular green blasts. And it seems that he is more confident in mid to long-range fighting, which shows what kind of style of fighting he favors.'.
He was not the only one to make that conclusion, as Tien, Yamcha, Barbara, Inukami, April, Kim, Cree, Alexandra and Makoto. They saw that while the ice blasts were effective, it took a bit longer to focus and shoot out then his regular ecto-rays.
After a few minutes in dodging the energy and ice beams, Roshi decided that now was the time to change tactics. He dodged another ice shot from Danny, looked up to him and called out, "Okay now kiddo, time for ME to change it up!".
He stood his ground, going into a stance with his right arm curled in & his left arm held outward with his palm spread open. Danny raised an eyebrow at seeing the change in stance, but believed that he still had the advantage. He shot forth a green ecto orb at Roshi, who stood his ground and was looked to be intent on taking the shot!
But to Danny and everyone's surprise… he SWATTED the orb away, which impacted some of the brush that covered the brick wall! The small trees & brush that took the hit were broken up, but thankfully did not catch fire. Wendy shouted in disbelief and surprise, "N-No way! He swatted away that green comet with his bare hand!".
Tien knew otherwise though, as he could see on what Master Roshi had done thanks to his enhanced sight with all three eyes. He thought to himself, 'Not exactly Corduroy-san. Master Roshi covered his hand in a thin layer of ki, thus protecting said hand and managing to bat away that unusual energy.'.
The martial artist knew that while they could make ki visible, it mostly stayed on an invisibility spectrum. Only by pumping more of their energy up can they make said energy appear before the naked eye. The application of ki was enormous, but it all depended on the user's creativity and imagination plus following certain theories that had been proven. Both in practice and on the battlefield.
Master Roshi then grinned at Danny and called out, "Well, you got any more in you? Or did you hit your limit?".
The halfa hero growled softly, his old pride/ego slowly taking over him as he used his ice projectile. He believed that once it struck Roshi's hand, it would freeze up… but he was proven wrong as the martial arts master batted it away, this time to the right! The pavement on the runaway to the right soon had an ice spot, and once more Phantom was stunned that his ice was smacked away like that!
Getting a bit frustrated that his regular attacks were not working, he resumed raining down projectiles like before! But again Roshi stood his ground and batted away the green & blue projectiles! The Turtle Hermit thought to himself as he continued to bat away the projectiles, 'Good thing that my ki reserves are large! Those unique energy attacks take a bit out of my ki when they make contact, but thankfully not too much that it is a problem.'.
The ecto and ice attacks were strong to be sure, wearing down the protective invisible ki that Roshi formed over his hands. But the master easily repaired them & that while it did some damage to the energy barrier, it was not by much.
The right and left side of Roshi now had either broken or frozen tree brush, the bricks had scorch marks or frozen spot, and the runaway had black and blue spots as well. It would take some time for the others to repair the damage from the battle.
Once more, Phantom was getting annoyed that his tactics and attacks were not making headway. So he opted now for new tactic. He stopped his attacks, then called out, "Okay Roshi, let's see you block this!".
He held out both his arms, putting them together and shooting out a blue ice beam that was similar to the Kamehameha Wave technique! Roshi stood his ground still, this time putting both arms in front of him & cupping his hands together. It was the same stance he took against Tien in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament when he unleashed a Kamehameha Wave of his own! He had to do it as the blast would have killed some of the spectators if he did dodge it.
The beam of ice streaked towards the Turtle Hermit, Danny's plan was to freeze the old master in place & automatically win the fight. He was starting to forget that it was a sparring match, not a fight like he had against the ones he faced back in his home universe.
The beam of cold hit… and it was deflected upwards! Master Roshi had pumped a bit more ki into his hands, and actually angled it so that it was sent upwards! He knew that if it was sent anywhere else, it could do damage to the structures or even hit the crowd that was nearby!
At seeing this, Danny was so stunned that he stopped his attack. When he did, the last of the beam dissipated in the air, a light flurry of snowflakes forming where the ice projectile had gone upwards. Everyone was very much surprised by this, even Inukami and it took much to surprise the anthro wolf woman!
Master Roshi lowered his arms slightly, shaking off the cooling sensation that was on his wrists and hands. He looked to Danny and stated in a firm voice like a teacher, "Okay son, I believe you showed me your offense. Now let us see how you do well on defense, speed and reflexes!".
Danny had heard that kind of tone many times back in his home world, from his parents to his less-than-stellar teacher/vice-principal Lancer. But the tone that Master Roshi used was different. It held a strength and boldness that made the one being on the receiving end stand at attention, and also deserved respect.
In a flash of speed that surprised the group and the halfa, Roshi leapt into the air with his right arm extended forward with a fist all ready to punch Danny! Tien and those that knew Master Roshi well knew that the Turtle Master was not an aerial fighter. Oh, he could jump and leap to meet his foes, but he did not know the Levitation technique. So in the air, he was at a slight disadvantage to those that could stay in the air.
Danny was stunned, but managed to collect himself and activated his intangibility. He believed that Roshi would pass through him, thus wasting his attack and allowing him to gain the advantage. He was very much wrong when the fist impacted his chest! This knocked the air out of him, a loud gasp coming from his mouth as he lost control of his levitation & plummeted back down to the ground! He landed on his back and bounced once before landing on his stomach, the others worried about Danny though Vicky had a vindictive smirk on her face. It seems that she was still a bit petty on how Danny managed to stop her fun in the Power Suit.
Master Roshi landed about four feet from him, hands behind his back as he looked down at the halfa hero. Phantom rose back to his feet, holding his chest where the Turtle Master had punched him. He managed to catch his breath and asked in a tone that was a mixture of bewilderment and disbelief, "H-How? How did you-? I went intangible, so how did your…?!".
Master Roshi answered back, "Ah, so you believed that I would go right through and that's why you didn't dodge? I'll explain later to you after the spar son, but you need to know that you can't always rely on certain techniques you have even if they are considered unique. The lesson here is this; you need to be ready to either defend, evade or to take the blows head on in order to train your endurance.".
He then got back into a stance and stated firmly, "Now then… let's continue with the sparring and the lessons.". At the end of his speech, a glint formed on the upper-right side of his tinted sunglasses. Anyone seeing that realized that now Master Roshi was about to kick things up a notch!
Master Roshi came in swiftly, coming into Danny's personal space and delivering a punch to his midsection that again knocked the wind out of him! A normal man with no training would have gone down, but Phantom had endured many hits back in his home world & his halfa form granted him some amazing endurance. But the term 'amazing' only applied to those that were of the regular, normal variety that did not have much or any training. Those that did have training of the high-class variety or were super-powered saw that his endurance was only mildly impressive.
Danny soon defended himself, using his arms to block the punches, but even he could feel his arms starting to become numb from the speedy assault of Master Roshi. Said elderly man was controlling his speed and strength, as if he wanted to go all out… well, Danny would have been knocked out long ago. He wanted to see Danny's true potential before doing any real evaluation that would be explained later on.
After some moments, Master Roshi went in for a sweep kick that knocked the halfa off his feet and landing on his back. Master Roshi stated, "You got to be aware of every aspect of your opponent, son. If you focus too much on the upper-body, the opponent can take advantage of you not focusing on the lower aspect and it will leave you wide open.".
Danny recovered quickly by standing back up, but was now defending himself against the kicks that the Turtle Hermit was now applying, showing to all that he was quite adapt with his lower body as well as his upper one.
Ginger exclaimed in surprise, "W-W-Wow! Master Roshi is very fast! I've never seen anyone his age move that fast!". Granted, she had never met anyone that could live to be 300+ plus years old, but it was still impressive in her eyes to see anyone like Master Roshi move that swiftly.
Tien had a small smirk on as he stated, "Like I told you all before Foutley-san, Master Roshi does not let something such as age slow him down when it comes to fighting. While he may not be as potent as he was in his prime, he can still deliver & also teach it to others.".
He was not wrong there. Master Roshi was certainly formidable even if he was past his prime, and he did honestly enjoy teaching. While he loved the Hermit life, he did like to teach in the fact that his teachings would be passed on. While the Immortal Phoenix did grant him immortality… it was not in a true way. The mythical bird did extend his life so that he could live 1,000 years, but anything could still kill him such as poisoning, a fatal blow in battle, sickness, etc. Now Master Roshi had built up considerable defenses within his body to resist some things that would normally kill a normal human being, but he could still very much due.
This is why he wanted to teach his skills, abilities and philosophies to his students before the time did come for him to enter into Other World. But he was careful on choosing his students, as he did not want his teachings and skills to be corrupted to do evil or becoming very base.
Meanwhile, Danny was being pushed back quicker than he did with Roshi earlier, defending himself from Master Roshi's physical attacks though something was still buzzing in his mind. He thought to himself, 'OW! Ouch! How can he… argh… make contact when… ow! I am using… ack! My intangibility?!'.
Danny had been trying constantly to go intangible so that Master Roshi's attacks would go through him, believing that happened earlier was a fluke of some sort. But it was not, as the Turtle Hermit had seemed to find a way to make his strikes land & negate his ghost power!
He still had a few more abilities at his disposal, but he was hesitant on using one of them. So he decided to try out another ability that his halfa form possessed which was invisibility.
The Phantom lad soon jumped back away from Master Roshi, dodging a thrust kick… and soon vanished!
Yamcha voiced out, "Uh oh… this is like when I was fighting the Invisible Man at Baba's Palace. How will Master Roshi defend himself against something he can't see.". Yume and Inukami looked at him in surprise, both knowing that Fortuneteller Baba had formidable fighters that some who did not have enough money for her services would have to face. The Invisible Man was a tough opponent… IF one could did not have other ways to find him.
Mater Roshi spoke up, "Hohoho! Using invisibility now eh? Well then… let me show you how I do against someone who can do that!". He got into a Horse Stance, controlling his breathing and extending his various senses. He extended his spirit senses outward; the world becoming black with white outlines around him with certain colors appearing as shaped clouds.
He had learned this long ago during his training trips around the world, which was to sense auras around him. Each aura was unique, and pulsed with life even though most beings could not see them. Only ones that extensively trained with their sixth senses and further dug into it could see the auras, or were sensitive to signatures at birth could see auras as well.
He focused… and felt the presence of someone behind his back! He knew who it was, and felt that he was going to throw a punch to the back of his head in the attempt to knock him out with one hit.
Danny flew behind Roshi, right fist cocked back and preparing to knock him out with a blow to the back of the head so that he could finish the fight. But… he was rendered speechless when Master Roshi suddenly turned around and caught his fist! The surprise was so much that Danny dropped his invisibility hold, and all could see the stunned shock on his face! Many were with him in that department though, as all had stunned/surprised looks on their faces!
Master Roshi cheekily said, "Hi there!". And that is when he threw Danny over his shoulder and away, the young man flying over the ground before righting himself up and stopping himself.
Krillin exclaimed, "Oh yeah! Master Roshi can sense auras! That's why he managed to detect Danny!". When he saw everyone looking at him, the bald-headed fighter told them on how he had heard Master Roshi state that he could sense Goku's aura even though he could not be seen in his match against Tien at the tournament.
All of the ladies, including Yume and Inukami, had this same thought in their heads, 'Master Roshi is full of surprises here!'.
Said Turtle Master looked to Danny, humming a little tune then asking, "Is that all you got to show me son?".
Danny gritted his teeth, not liking that his attacks and abilities were being rendered useless by the martial arts master. He soon thought of one of the abilities he had, which caused him to change his gritting frown to a smirk, which had Master Roshi raise his left eyebrow at it.
He called out, "I got a couple of things left to show you Roshi! Here is one of them!". He flew towards the elderly man swiftly, his eyes glowing green and looked to be attempting to body-slam him… when he went inside his body!
A lot of people were stunned by this, Puar calling out, "Hey! What happened?! What did he do?! Where is he?!".
It was Sabrina that soon gained the answer when she called out, "I think I know! Danny went into Master Roshi! He is possessing him! That is something that ghosts can do!".
Master Roshi looked to them and announced in a jovial tone, "Yup! Sabrina is right! I'm possessing Master Roshi, so I think I'll have him… urk!". It seemed that something was happening as the words from the possessed master were cut off, and he started to jerk his body in a bizarre manner!
In fact… he started to do some crazy dance moves! He did a handstand, then used his head to stand on instead of his hands & spun like a top! After a few moments, he leapt up and started to do the moonwalk that was created by the legendary King of Pop- Michael Jackson! And he was actually doing it correctly! After doing a few of those, he started to do the Egyptian Walk and several other kinds of dance moves, while all the while making gibberish sounds that had everyone do a sweat drop on the back of their heads.
Truth be told, if one were to see from a distance, one could see a MASSIVE sweatdrop on the group.
Bulma inquired in a tone that showed her disbelief at the scene, "Ummm… what has gotten into Master Roshi? Besides Danny, I mean…".
Chiaotzu replied, "I know! Master Roshi must be fighting back in control of his body!".
He was correct in that, as the psychic fighter and Tien knew a bit about possession due to their training with Master Crane who had shown them much of the supernatural world. They knew that spirits who were strong could possess someone, but it depended on the willpower of the person. If said person had a strong will and spirit of their own, they could fight the possession with a good chance of expelling the force out from them by sheer will! Though it was rare, as most of the times a sacred chant or certain items would be needed to release the possessed from the spirit.
And also that it was quite dangerous for someone to possess others for a long time. A mortal body was not meant to contain multiple spirits, just like the human mind was not meant to contain multiple strong personalities. The spirit/mind would shatter from the pressure in due time, and would cause all sorts of problems… and it would vary if the person could be saved or not depending on the damage!
In addition, the one possessing the victim could have their traits seep into him or her, and it would cause an imbalance in the person that again would vary. The longer one is possessed, the longer the certain traits would stay until it would be permanent. As for the possessor, he or she would start to get addicted to possession like one would a deadly drug/alcoholic beverage/habit that was rather dangerous.
After some moments, Danny was ejected from Master Roshi's body! He rolled on the ground like a tumbleweed a few times before coming to a stop, the young halfa clutching his head while groaning in pain. The Turtle Master stumbled a little in a comedic way until he put his foot down, quickly regaining himself & his balance. Both were panting hard, though Danny more than Roshi. It showed that both had fought hard for control during the internal struggle.
Master Roshi gathered his breath, looking at Danny now with firm eyes even though one could not tell due to his darkly-tinted sunglasses. He stated, "Hohoho! Possession… now that is a good trick you got there, son! But I am no stranger to possession, and it seems that my will beats yours.".
Danny slowly rose up from the ground, a bewildered look on his face as he got back to both feet. He thought in surprise and shock, 'That… that is not possible! How did he manage to resist?!'. He had possessed others before, if only briefly and even then it was trying to stop their actions. Or to make them forget what they saw, which was complicated & difficult as messing with the mind was not easy at all for him. The only ones that we able to eject him was Tucker when he had ghost powers, and others when they wore certain devices from his parents that were made to expel an extra spirit from the body.
Not only that, it seemed that Master Roshi still remembered what happened while possessed, which was quite rare as the victims of possession/overshadowing usually would forget what happened while possessed.
The Turtle Hermit then asked a pointed question, "Are you ready to surrender son, or do you have something else that you wish to try against me?".
The young man's mind was still reeling from being ejected from Roshi's body, so he was not thinking right/correctly at the moment. His old self had managed to take hold, and he saw Roshi as an enemy rather than just a sparring opponent. He made a decision… one that he would be crucial for him.
Danny stood up tall and answered back, "I got one last trick up my sleeve… my ultimate move! Let's say you take on my Ghostly Wail!". He stood firm and inhaled deeply, taking in as much air as possible.
Phanty's eyes widened and exclaimed, "Everyone, take cover!".
Yume looked to the blue specter girl and asked in a confused tone, "What do you mean? Do you know what he is going to do?".
The daughter of the Phantom answered back in a scared tone, "Danny's going to use his final move called Ghostly Wail! It's a sound attack that destroys anything hit hits! So take cover and close your ears!". She had heard through the ghostly grapevine from the Ghost Zone of Danny's new attack, and that it was a real doozy.
The group quickly looked to Danny before taking some much needed steps back… and just in time as Phantom soon released a powerful wailing sound wave blast that comprised of strong soundwave rings of ecto-energy! The stone ground was starting to shatter to pieces from the places the rings hit, and the sound was quite unbearable for the group as they closed their ears. Yume quickly cast a spell on Nebula and Inukami that protected their ears more since they were more sensitive than the others.
Master Roshi raised his arms and stood his ground firmly, the attack hitting him dead on! The wailing attack spread out, decimating any shrubbery it hit along with the brick wall that was behind Master Roshi!
The attack lasted for about three minutes before Danny ceased his attack, panting hard as he fell to his knees. Everyone looked to him, slowly uncovering their ears and soon witnessing him changing back to his mortal form. However… they did notice something odd. Parts of his hair was white, and his eyes were now heterochromia like Yume's. His right eye was blue, and his left eye green. Danny panted as he had used up all of his energy.
Using the move had drained him of his ghostly self, and it often left his human-DNA getting mixed up with the ecto-energy that had bonded with his DNA. Thus why the odd look he gained after using the attack, though his mortal self would revert back completely after a few minutes.
He soon realized on what he had done, and a look of shock was now on his face. He had used a move that he promised to never use on mortals, as the move was quite devastating and potent that it had the high possibility of killing someone or permanently injuring them such as with permanent deafness. He had allowed his old self to take control, and do something that was purely out of ego/pride… and that brought shame to his being.
He looked to the dust cloud in front of him to see if Master Roshi was all right, and wanting to apologize to the old man for doing something like that. However… when the dust cleared… his eyes went wide and his jaw dropped almost to the ground.
The others looked to where he was looking at, and when they finally saw the dust settle enough for visibility to be possible… all of their eyes widened at the sight as well!
It was Master Roshi, unscathed and still standing! His arms were still up in an X-formation, and people saw that behind him the parts of the brick wall that were behind him had a perfect lining of his body like so! His clothes were just dirty from the dust that he kicked up, and that was about it!
After a few moments, Master Roshi slowly uncovered his arms and stood tall once more. He cracked his neck a little, looked to a stunned Danny Fenton… and called out in a light tone, "Hey! That is some set of lungs you got there kiddo! Though I highly recommend you don't take singing as a career! Hohohoho!".
Right now, Fenton was flabbergasted completely. And he was also feeling a bit afraid as he saw someone that was mortal completely be unfazed by his most powerful attack.
Master Roshi thought, 'Good thing I covered my body with ki, and also used it to anchor myself to the ground. Otherwise, I would have been literally blown away by the attack. And also feel a ringing in my ears for some time.'.
He had covered his whole being with his ki, which protected his body from the soundwave attack. Oh it took a good chunk of his energy to maintain the barrier, but it was necessary as the attack was truly formidable. In addition, he used his energy as a sort of anchor to his feet, which prevented him from being blown away. He skidded a few feet yes, but still remained anchored.
The Turtle Hermit looked at Danny and saw that he was in his mortal form, though the cosmetic look puzzled him. He would have to ask why it was so, and see the reason for it. But that was for later… and now he wished to end the sparring match!
He stated with a firm tone now, "Well then son… you showed me your ultimate attack. Now then… let me show you mine before I end this sparring session.".
Master Roshi unbuttoned his shirt, soon taking it off and throwing it to the side. Everyone saw that underneath it was a rather skinny man with some of his ribcage showing, some of the ladies like Debbie & Vicky finding it underwhelming. He stood tall and stated, "Okay… here it goes!".
He grunted as he pulled together his latent, hidden power… and those that were sensitive to energy soon felt an overwhelming sensation to their sense! Even Danny stood up more erect as he felt it, the immense energy that was building up within Roshi! Yume, Inukami, Starfire, Sabrina, Musa, Cleo, Gwen Tennyson, Kara, April, Phantasma, Nebula, Spectra, Tien and Chiaotzu were feeling it!
The thought that was in all their minds, minus Nebula since she was a baby dragon, was this: 'This energy… it's like a powerful storm! Like a HUGE hurricane! But… it's being concentrated, focused! And… becoming more powerful by the second!'. Danny and those that had certain knowledge about hurricanes compared the current one they were feeling coming from Roshi was like a Category Three… and it was still building up in a remarkable way!
Soon… the arms of Roshi grew quickly, muscles bulging out with visible veins on them! This had the onlookers be very much shocked/stunned, and then Roshi lifted his arms in front of him upward straight as inhaled, then exhaled slowly as he lowered them in front of his being in an usual position. Bulma, Yamcha, Puar and Oolong recognized it as it was the same posture Roshi did years ago when he first showed to them his Kamehameha Wave!
He then let out a yell as he threw his arms back… and his chest expanded greatly showing a broad, big chest area with large six-pack ribs now! Barbara was in total surprise and thought in a tone that mirrored her emotion, 'W-What?! It's like when Bane transforms when using that Venom! But… there is no chemical or anything foreign being pumped into him! It's… It's all him!'.
Yamcha exclaimed, "That's Master Roshi's MAX Power form! He only uses it when he's really serious!".
Everyone looked to him, and Yamcha explained that during his and Krillin's training, Master Roshi had showed them his form to demonstrate what 300+ years of intense training had done for him. He showed them that while he gained much strength from it, he lost some speed though it was honestly not much. And in that form, all of his attacks increased dramatically as well as his ki.
Master Roshi kept on a low growl, veins appearing in many places on his being including his head. He was focusing, bringing up the power that was within himself. That was the reason for his audible growling, as it took effort to both bring up & control said power.
He thrusted out his right arm, the middle finger and index finger up with the middle finger bent a little. The rest of the digits were all curled inward. After a moment, a faint but visible light-blue/white light emerged for all to see! Now his ki was visible, and forming around him like a second layer of skin! Danny was stunned, rooted to the ground as he felt power… power that put even Pariah Dark & his evil alternate future self Dark Dan to shame! His eyes were wide, and no one noticed that all of his features were back to regular normal now. All attention was on the MAX Power form of Master Roshi!
When he had gathered enough of his power and gained control of it, he brought both arms to his chest and in a position with the hands mirroring the other.
He then got into a tight, small Horse stance and slowly brought his arms forward. He then spread them out wide, holding the position for a few moments before slowly doing the motions to bring them together. His right arm was positioned underneath the left one, the hands in a cupped form with the digits curled inward slightly.
Master Roshi spoke in a tone that had an echo quality to it, "Ka… me…". He then pulled his arms to the right side of him, the same way Krillin did earlier when he demonstrated his own Kamehameha Wave to the others.
He continued to speak but with a straining quality as he was still doing his best to control the immense power he had, "Ha… me…".
Everyone saw the ki energy now forming into an oval shape around this cupped hands… and he thrust his arms upward and shouted loudly, "HA!".
A brilliant white light formed from his cupped hands, and a streak of blue-white energy erupted like a cannon! The whole group was treated to a scene of Master Roshi unleashing his ultimate move- the MAX Power Kamehameha Wave! Of course, Master Roshi was not putting all of his energy into it. He only did that if it was a serious emergency, like when Goku transformed into his Great Ape form & he had to use almost all of his energy in his MAX-form to blow up the moon!
He was now only using enough energy like he did when he put out both the fire at Fire Mountain… though he also destroyed said place along with his pupil Ox King's castle home.
Now, everyone was treated to the sight of a pillar of energy that shot towards the heavens! All were left in awe as they felt the incredible energy, even those that were not as sensitive to it as certain others could feel it! Nebula was gaping in awe at the sight, the other animals around the compound looked up in awe as well though some decided to vacate the premises due to the instincts to find safety when facing something unknown.
Danny and certain others thought, 'It's… It's amazing! It feels like a Category Five Hurricane, but all compact with an electrical/whooshing wind feeling combined with heat!'.
The amazing display lasted for about two minutes, then it slowly dissipated. Master Roshi ceased his attack and powered down from his MAX-form. He let drew in a deep breath, then sighed as he walked over to where his shirt was at. He put it back on, buttoned it up and walked towards a still shell-shocked Danny. The Fenton lad managed to snap out of his gaze, now looking to Master Roshi with a look of stunned surprise on his face & in his eyes.
The Turtle Master then raised his right hand high, Danny soon closing it and gritting his teeth, expecting to be hit! He did get hit… but with a gentle bop to the head in a mock karate chop. He opened his eyes and saw Master Roshi grinning as his right hand remained on his head in the chopping form. He then asked, "I believe that you no condition to continue. So… what do you say?".
The halfa hero breathed a sigh of relief, then answered in a tone that matched his current emotion, "Yeah… I'm done. I give up.".
Master Roshi then brought his hand off of Danny's head, glad to see that the sparring session was now over. In the group, everyone was still stunned on what they had just witnessed. However, it was Katie that managed to break up the silence by clapping her hands. Many looked to her, the blonde beauty smiling and clapping her hands still. Nebula soon joined in, but rather clap her claws, she cried out loudly. The others slowly but surely joined in, even Vicky as she had been very impressed by the power she saw.
Master Roshi looked Danny in the eyes, nodded his head and then looked to the others. He walked to them, the Fenton lad following behind him. The Turtle Master looked to Kim and inquired, "Sorry about the mess we made, Kim-chan. Do you think you and the others can fix it?".
Miss Possible looked to see the damage done by Danny, and even though it LOOKED bad, it was actually more superficial then it was. More cosmetic damage to be more precise. She turned her gaze and attention back to Master Roshi and answered, "Yeah, it's honestly not that bad. Give us half a day, and we can repair it.".
The Turtle Master nodded his head and replied, "That is good. I will leave it up to you and the others on when you can fix it. For now, let's go back to the front of the manor. I believe it's time to evaluate my pupil here, and also say my theories concerning him.". He asked Krillin for his shell and staff back, which the pupil quickly returned to him.
All of them agreed with the powerful martial arts master, walking back towards the manor home. Along the way, Danny was looking rather down & it showed on his face. Nebula went to her papa, gently nudging him as she wanted to make sure he was alright. The halfa hero looked to the baby Interdimensional Dragon, put a small smile on and gently petted her snout. He softly told her, "Thanks Nebula. I appreciate it.".
He really did, but inside he was very much disappointed and upset with himself. He had lost control of himself, allowed his old mannerisms and habits of fighting to come out like that… and had used his ultimate technique on someone that is usually reserved only against hordes of strong enemies or against a very powerful one like Pariah Dark… or his evil alternate self.
Nebula was not the only one who could see that Danny was down, Penny and Katie going to the young man. Miss Proud inquired, "You okay Danny? I mean, I know you lost and all, but it was just a sparring match.".
The young lad looked to the African-American beauty, sighed and answered, "It's not that Penny. Its… well…".
Katie put it together quickly and softly said, "You're down on yourself because you lost control of yourself, right?". He looked to her in mild amazement that she was able to figure it out, then realized that she knew what he was going through on account of her… unique condition.
He nodded his head and answered, "Yeah… that's right. I… I just got lost shortly after the battle started. I mean, I knew it was a sparring session but… my old self slipped back in, and it was like I had to prove myself by beating Roshi like it was a real battle.".
Danny finished it by saying softly, "I even used something… that can really injure or kill someone…". The young ladies and Nebula were seeing how down Danny was, and they did not know how to help him.
However, the voice of Master Roshi called out to him, "Don't beat yourself up too much, my boy.". He and the ladies plus dragon baby looked up and forward to where Master Roshi was at.
The Turtle Hermit continued to talk and walk, "You show genuine remorse for your actions, and that at least shows you don't let pride/ego stay with you. That shows you got potential to be a good fighter and person, but it seems that I need to help you with some issues and such before we can officially train tomorrow.".
This did perk Danny up a little, but he was still sorry for his actions earlier.
When they got in front of the manor, Master Roshi stopped and turned to the group who also halted in their tracks. He called Danny forward, the Fenton lad walking through the parted crowd & soon standing about four feet or so from Master Roshi.
Danny looked to get scolded by the ancient one, and he knew that he had every right to do so. Instead, Master Roshi smiled even though one could not see it through his thick beard and whiskers. He stated, "I have to say Danny, you impressed me during our sparring session.". This caused the Fenton lad to look at him in bewilderment, which made Roshi chuckle a little as it looked funny on him.
He continued, "You got a good grasp of the fundamentals, and you certain have some unique techniques and abilities that give you an advantage over most fighters. And your… ah, your Ghostly Wail as you called it is certain quite potent. A normal person would have been blown away from it for sure!".
Roshi then spoke in a stern tone, "But it seems that your foundation concerning fights is shaky at best. Most of your moves are indeed self-taught, and what you did learn from your mother is very basic at best. Your attacks are wide and leave you quite open, the same goes with you throwing those green energy attacks & ice attacks of yours. And while your so-called ultimate attack is powerful, it's too widespread and is a danger to use in crowded places. Top it off, you did lose yourself in the fight and allowed for your pride to take precedence in the spar.".
Danny flinched from hearing all of the shortcomings that he had, but Roshi reassured him by saying this in a confident tone, "But you have potential and promise, lad. We will have to work from the ground up, at the basics and foundation. And also we will have to work on keeping your pride/ego in check, but that is something YOU need to work on. Just remember; arrogance is for fools, not warriors!".
This did relieve Danny very much. He had been worried that after his performance, he would not be considered worthy to train. But it seems that was not the issue he, and he would be allowed to train with him and the others! He did a bow to him and spoke in a relieved tone, "Thank you Master Roshi! I will do my best!". This made the Turtle Master chuckle a little, while everyone was very much glad to see a positive outcome.
Master Roshi then spoke like a teacher would, "Now then, time to tell you my theory concerning you.". Now this got everyone's attention, as some were perplexed as Danny did show that he was part-ghost.
The Turtle Hermit continued on, "Now while my experience with the supernatural is limited, and my sister Baba is the real expert in those matters, I can say with confidence this. You are NOT half-ghost like you believe to be.".
Now this surprised the crowd, especially Danny as he had quite the confused/confounded look on his face. It was Kitty Pryde that called out, "Master Roshi, are you sure about that? I mean, Danny did show some things that only ghosts can do!".
The elderly man replied to her, "Now calm down there, Kitty-chan. If you will all allow me to explain my theory, and hopefully clear things up here.".
When he had their attention again, Master Roshi continued onward. He said, "Now Danny here has told us on what happened, on how this… ecto-energy, which is the essence of spirits, bonded to his DNA during his accident in his parent's lab concerning the Ghost Portal. While it did give him abilities that are like a ghost, the fact that he still has a pulse even in his Phantom-form, shows that he is still among the living. And thanks to some other things I've noticed during our spar only confirms my theory.".
The elderly man looked at Danny intently and stated his theory, "Son, I believe that you are half-spirit, not a ghost.".
He continued on, "Before you ask what the difference is between a spirit and ghost, I'll explain it now. A spirit is an entity that can exist even without a physical form, created by supernatural means. While a ghost is a spirit that HAS lived his or her life before being cut from the mortal coil. In short, that he or she had lived a life before dying. And I believe that what happened to Danny when the portal opened is this; the energy that bonded to him allowed his inner-self to come forth. In short, his spirit and soul coming forth & given physical form.".
Now this certainly was a brand new theory for Danny to hear, and it showed on his face. Even some of the ladies of the group were surprised, and also skeptical on this.
Master Roshi continued on, "Danny, I saw how humble and uncertain you were when you were in your human… or should I say Mortal-form. But when you changed into your Phantom-form, your behavior changed as well. You became confident, though it was borderline arrogant. Almost the same as Kim-chan there.". Miss Possible's face burned a little from being put on like that.
The Turtle Master pushed onward, "I have seen many things in life, and among them is seeing people who do reveal themselves truly when certain opportunities or challenges come forth. Some go from meek and mild, to strong and daring when they something that they normally would never do when something/someone they like is threatened. And some reveal their true selves in a negative way when they see an opportunity to strike when one is vulnerable in any way."
Master Roshi pointed to Danny's heart with his staff and stated, "What I believe happened to you is that you did not die at all, like yourself and others believe so. Instead, I believe that ecto-stuff just made it possible for your most inner thoughts and feelings to come out. Even the physical changes are proof of that, as it's just a reverse of certain colors that are opposite of one another yet compliment as well. So while you do have certain capabilities like a ghost has, a spirit can do the same thing actually. And you do something that a spirit nor a ghost can do, and this is to evolve, to change. For the better or for worse, as that is up to you entirely.".
That particular part made the young lad think on his words. He thought, 'He has a point. Skulker and the others I fought… while they come up with new techniques and such, their power doesn't change. With Ember and Desiree, it all depends on something external. I… I do change, but in a way that is different from them. I learned my ice power when I needed it most against Undergrowth, and my Ghostly Wail just shortly after seeing my jerk evil self use it.'.
He added in, "You yourself stated that even your Core and the inner workings of yourself are more different then ghosts back in your world. So that should also confirm my theory about you.".
Danny really had a stunned/surprised look on his face, the words from Master Roshi being absorbed into his mind and worked on. He spoke in a soft tone, but it was still enough for the crowd and Master Roshi to hear. He said, "Well… that you mention it… all that you said… does make… some sense. But… that I'm not half-ghost… but rather… my spirit and soul… given physical form… it's a lot to take in, Master Roshi.".
Said master of martial arts nodded and replied, "I know son, but it seems that you are taking it better than I had thought earlier. Now tell me, do you remember anything from your past that showed you were courageous and adventurous before you changed into who you are now? Anything at all?".
Danny was perplexed by this, wondering why the Turtle Hermit would ask such an unusual question. His mind tried to find a memory, but it seemed that his heart helped him in finding the answer. It made his brain think back to two certain young girls, and a memory that Danny had not dug up at all for many years:
~Flashback~
Danny Fenton was at the Amity Park Playground, being seven years old and quite young. He was at the playground with his best friends, which was Paulina Sanchez & Star Satellite. The trio were playing by a large playground set that most little ones their age would love to play on. Sitting on a bench across from them was Maddie Fenton, Graciela Sanchez & Tamika Satellite. The mothers were conversing with one another, as the two were good friends thanks to their children's friendship. And on the playground set was Jazz, the nine year-old enjoying the play place but also at the same time making sure to keep an eye on her brother & her close friends.
Jazz really liked Paulina and Star, as they seem to have keen minds for their age. And while they did like girly stuff, they were not afraid to get down and dirty if it called for it.
The trio had only met three months ago in the first grade, but they acted like they had known each other since birth. Their friendship had blossomed quickly, and all three were forming a strong bond. While it was unusual for children to form such bonds quickly, so far there was nothing wrong with it. All three had certain likes and dislikes, but they actually respected one another and accepted the differences better than some older kids did.
Danny had brought some of his toys to the park so he and the girls could play with them. All of them were of the Toho monsters from the popular movies that he watched with his father Jack; Heisei-era Godzilla, Anguirus, Showa and Heisei-era MechaGodzilla, Titanosaurus, Heisei-era Mothra, Space Godzilla and finally M.O.G.U.E.R.A. The other toys were safe with Maddie who had them by her side.
Paulina was playing with Anguirus and Mothra, Star with Titanosaurus and Godzilla, while Danny played with Space Godzilla and M.O.G.U.E.R.A. Danny was making some monster sounds, his action figures 'fighting' against the ones his friends had. Paulina smiled at her friend and stated in a cute voice, "You really like those monsters Danny!".
The young man paused in his monster-acting and answered with a bashful grin, "Yup! I like Space Godzilla and M.O.G.U.E.R.A more since they have been in space! And I really like space! I want to be a… a… ummm… ah! An astro-person when I grow up!". He was still young so his vocabulary was a bit limited, but he was still learning.
Star and Paulina giggled at him, but it was not in a mean way. They just found their friend's bold confidence good in a playful kind of way. Star remarked with a smile, "And I believe you will be that when you're all big and strong! And smart too! Jazzy says that you need to be smart too in order to be that!". Danny chuckled at that, as Jack had called Jazz that in front of them all, and the name just kinda stuck like that. Jazz always got red from embarrassment, which made the trio laugh like that.
The trio would have resumed playing… until shadows were cast over them, blocking out the sun. They looked up to see that it was due to some eight-year old kids that looked rather tough-looking. It was not Dash or his cronies, but another bully that was related to the Baxter family. It was Orian Vega, cousin to Dash and son to Latonya Vega, who was the sister of Jade Vega. He had sandy-brown long hair that went past his shoulders, purple eyes, a tan complexion that was lighter than Paulina's skin, and was a little shorter than Jazz. He had three other boys who were his friends, or more specifically his gang members, who bullied little ones whenever they could.
He looked down at the trio and spoke a voice that as similar to Mandark from the cartoon show Dexter's Laboratory, "Well, look what we have here boys! A wimpy kid playing with girls!". His entourage laughed, though honestly it was painful to one's ears.
Danny stood up, Paulina and Star following his lead. The Cuban-American girl marched right up to Orian and spoke in an angry tone for a six year-old, "Hey! You leave my friend alone!".
Orian merely scoffed and pushed her away from him, causing Paulina to bump into Star. This caused Danny to go in front of his two girl friends, acting like a shield while Star asked a startled Paulina if she was okay. The young Fenton lad exclaimed, "You leave her alone, you big bully!".
Said bully merely sneered at Danny, and one of his backup bully friends pushed him away while saying in a voice that sounded like a hillbilly, "Duh, get lost squirt!". The push was strong enough to force Danny to the ground on his bottom. He was a bit hurt and startled by the action, but he got back up quickly.
Just then, Jazz appeared and got between the bullies and her brother. She loomed as tall as she could, folding her arms and giving a disapproving look to the little delinquents. She demanded in a grown-up tone… well, as grown up as a nine year-old can make, "You jerks leave my little brother and her friends alone!".
Orian was scared, not used to anyone standing up to him. He fit the true description of a bully; building a strong front to intimidate weak little ones, but ran away when stronger, bigger people came who did not obey him. His pride was large for those of his age, and was determined to not let anyone, especially a girl, tell him what to do.
He looked behind him, and saw one of his friends holding a large red rubber ball. They had taken it from a little girl earlier, and it seemed that he wanted to use it now. He took the ball, aimed it at Jazz and exclaimed, "Back off girl! I do what I want, when I want!". He threw it hard, Jazz not prepared for such a hasty move and was hit in the midsection! It was enough for her to be knocked down, clutching her stomach from the hit.
Now THAT set Danny off! In his mind, no one hurt his sister or his friends! With a yell that was like Godzilla's roar, he charged in at a surprised Orian and tackled him to the ground! The two tumbled around in the gravel of the playground area, other kids looking on at the scene in awe. Some had ceased playing to see the action/drama unfold, and now they were seeing someone actually fighting back against the bullies of the playground!
Orian was yelping from the small punches, scratches… and even biting that Danny was doing to him! He tried to fight back, but the little guy was on fire as he fought to defend his sister and friends! He called out for help, and that is when his gang finally acted. They were too stunned to see someone actually defy their boss like so, and his words managed to penetrate through their skulls.
The three other eight year-olds went over to help their boss, but soon were blindsided as Paulina and Star rushed in to help! The moment they saw the others going to help the bully, their minds showed mental images of Danny being seriously hurt… and that was something they just could not allow! So acting on their primal instincts to protect, they rushed at the gang!
Soon, a whole dust cloud fight started with Danny, Paulina and Star going to town on Orian and the others! The bigger, older kids were caught off-guard by the sudden action, and called out for help as the trio showed their ferocity! The noise brought Maddie, Graciela and Tamika to the scene, the mothers calling out loudly for the kids to stop!
They dust cloud fight soon ceased, the dust dissipating to show the young ones. Danny and the girls only had superficial scratches and such on them, while Orian and the bullies had some serious scratches and bite marks on them. Maddie demanded, "Danny! Girls! What happened here?!".
Danny pointed at a dishelved Orian and exclaimed, "This meanie pushed Paulina and hit Jazz with ball! I protect them like Godzilla does!". Apparently he saw the Showa-era movies where Godzilla was a hero instead of a villain.
Maddie looked to the side to see her daughter rising up, clutching her stomach that still ached from the hit earlier. She nodded to her, saying that it was true. And a small five year-old girl with deep red hair came on the scene, going to the ball and picking it up. She pointed to the boys and said that they took her ball away.
Graciela looked closely at the Orian and said, "Ah! Now I know who you are! You're the nephew to Jade! I should have known…". She was very much tempted to say some… ahem, stronger words about Jade & Latonya since she knew them, but there was kids around & it was taboo to speak certain adult words around them. Especially her precious daughter, who had surprised her since Paulina was not the fighting girl. Or rather she assumed that she avoided fighting, but apparently if Danny was in trouble, she would go head first in to help him.
Also, she did not know this but Paulina & her father Reinaldo had watched some matches from a wrestling association called Wild Women of Wrestling. Paulina had been trying to find some cartoons, and she found a wrestling match featuring the organization. She became fascinated with it, and started to watch it. Her father saw her, but he honestly didn't see the match as lewd or crude. He watched it with her, and they soon bonded a bit more due to it. Paulina found the lady wrestlers having style, flair and also strength and skills that really grabbed her attention just like how wrestling grabbed the attention of most young boys back then.
Tamika however knew that her daughter could hold her own, especially in the mock wrestling fights that she and her father Matthew did from time to time. Apparently Star was a fan of the World Wrestling Federation like her father. At least the 1980s and early 1990s of it. And now she could see that she would go in to fight if the Fenton lad needed it.
Jazz explained as she got her wind back, "Its true! These bullies were picking on them, and that one threw a ball at me that got me in the stomach!".
The three mothers glared at the bullies, who looked frightened like gazelle does when facing three lionesses. Orian quickly turned and ran away, crying for his mother while the bullies chased after him.
Danny looked to Paulina and Star and asked in a concerned tone, "You two okay?".
Both smiled and nodded, saying that they were okay… and grabbed Danny and brought him in for a hug with him in the middle of it! He smiled, not minding at all and returning the hug. The three mothers and big sister smiled at seeing the scene, though Graciela made a mental note to tell Reinaldo on what happened. There was no way she was going to let the spawn of her hated nemesis get away with bullying!
~End flashback~
Danny soon came back from his trip down Memory Lane, the halfa looking to Master Roshi and saying, "I remember… I remember when I was little… me and two girls, Paulina and Star. I… I was different back then. I remember not being afraid to stand up for them, and also… not being afraid to stand up to bullies. But…".
Master Roshi put it together and stated, "Then something changed, didn't it? The things you used to do were buried deep in your mind, or more specifically your soul and spirit.".
The young Fenton lad nodded his head. Things had changed during their Freshman year in middle school… when Paulina's mother had been killed by a drunk driver. He had tried to connect with her and Star, but he was always cut off by either Dash Baxter… or Samantha. Said Manson girl had started to instill new solutions, suggestions and more to Danny. And that was what slowly changed his view, attitude and more over the course of the years. And she continued to do so, insisting in a bossy way that her views/ways were more 'correct' then certain things. And it soon became ingrained in him, more so after the accident in the lab.
The Turtle Master spoke once more, "I see you are starting to see things a bit more clearly now. The difference in your biology and physiology in your Phantom-form, the change in attitude when you transform & also the fact that you change in a way that is different from the ghosts back in your world. This is why I believe that you are not dead at all. Merely you bring your spirit, your soul… your inner self to the surface when you do change. On why you are half-spirit, not half-ghost.".
Danny looked at his hands, then to Master Roshi as the words really started to make more sense to him. He was not dead… rather the ecto-energy had brought forth the spirit/soul part out of him in a unique way! All of it brought to the surface like so! And the fact now that he is not completely green like the ghosts also compounded Roshi's theory!
He smiled and replied, "I… I think you are right Master Roshi! I think… no, I believe that I am a halfa! But not like in a dead sense, but in a more alive kind of way! You know!".
The ancient master chuckled and nodded, glad that his theory was approved like so. Even a majority of the group saw that what Master Roshi gave out made a bit of sense to them, in a more acceptable way. The Turtle Master stated, "Glad you approve son. But to really confirm it officially, I'll give my sister a call and ask her to come over here. She's a REAL expert when it comes to the supernatural, so she can truly confirm if my theory is true or not.".
Bulma smirked and called out, "Just make sure that your sister doesn't have Danny or anyone else here fight for that kind of favor!". This made Master Roshi wince as apparently Bulma never forgot what kind of businesswoman Baba was.
Gwen Honorine spoke up as realization hit her, "Oh yeah! You and Roshi told us about her some time ago. On how she loves fights and making money with her fortunetelling. Heh… one sibling is a pervert while the other is a sadist. Makes me wonder about their Dad and Mom.". This got a round of chuckles from everyone, while Roshi could only blush in embarrassment.
He managed to shake it off, looking back to Danny. He stated, "Now that we got the theory cleared up, now it's time to tackle the three other issues.".
Danny looked to his new master and inquired, "Three other issues?".
The Turtle Master nodded and continued, "Yes son. The second issue concerns your style of fighting. It seems that you favor mid to long range fighting, so we need to work on your close range ones. There will be times when your enemies will come up with plans that are made to counter your energy attacks, to force you into fighting close which in what I saw leaves many openings. So we will work on increasing your close-quarter capabilities so that you are better rounded.".
Master Roshi suggested learning some grappling and submission techniques like wrestling moves, which had Danny raise an eyebrow at that. The Turtle Master chuckled and stated that he utilized some of those kinds of moves as they were effective, and that entertainment wrestling is not as fake as he believes it be. And also that learning some of those techniques can catch his opponents off guard, and to restrain them until they lost the strength to fight. Danny said that he would think on it.
The martial arts master pushed forward, "And now the third issue. That possession ability of yours…".
Danny interrupted him, "It's called Overshadowing, which does allow me to control others & prevents the one I am controlling from remembering anything during that. Though it seems that you managed to fight its effects, including the memory part.".
The Turtle Master had a small, but proud smile on as he replied, "I see. And like I said, no stranger to possession but it seems that your technique is rather weak and basic at best.". Seeing his stunned face, Master Roshi stated that during his youth, he had been possessed by ghosts, evil spirits and beings with mind control capabilities. And all of them were rather strong, and it took much willpower and mental/spiritual strength to throw them off. Or at times, relied on others who had magic that was specifically made to expel foreign entities from him.
He pushed on, "I have a feeling that concerning your overshadowing thing, you have not dug deeper into it. Let me ask you something son; when you do take control of someone, is it like getting only into the driver's seat of a car or any other vehicle?".
Danny thought about it, then nodded his head. Master Roshi 'hmmed' and stated, "I thought so. Son, I believe that it's highly possible to take your overshadowing thing to a new level. Instead of merely controlling someone, I believe you have the potential to actually DIVE into a person's soul and spirit! That you can access something deeper within instead of merely being an invasive passenger.".
The ancient master believed that Danny's possession ability was like him merely being in the driver's seat of someone, but he had not taken a good look under the hood of the vehicle he had taken over. But he felt that Danny could take his overshadowing skills to a new level, in a way that could make him learn more about a person from deep within! Maybe even help said person, if he worked on it.
The Fenton lad's eyes widened as he heard that, certainly not thinking at all that his overshadowing ability could be taken to the next level. Many eyes in the group widened as that kind of ability was incredible, if not scary for some of them.
Master Roshi said, "I believe diving more into that ability is also the key needed to help Miss Kaboom with her mood issues, and perhaps work out something that will be a permanent solution that will be beneficial to her in the life-run.". Now that got Katie's eyes going wide, as that was something that she needed very much. If Danny was able to find and utilize that deeper aspect of possession, it could help her to finally fix what was deep inside of her!
Danny looked to Miss Kaboom, the blonde beauty from Acmeville giving him a most pleading look with the famous Puppy-Dog Eyes technique complete with shimmering tears at the side. He had a small sweatdrop on the back of his head, wondering how she could use such a move. But remembering on what her condition was, he smiled softly at her and nodded his head. He spoke to both her and Master Roshi, "If this can help Katie… then I'm all for diving deeper into my Overshadowing ability.".
This brought a brilliant smile from Katie, who really wanted to rush up and hug the Fenton lad, but she controlled herself… although it was hard to do, the giddiness in her look and actions showing it to all.
Master Roshi nodded and chuckled softly, then tapped his cane on the ground to get Danny's attention back to him. He then inquired, "And now for the final issue. Son… are you sure that you showed to me everything in our spar?".
Danny gave him a quizzical look and answered, "Yeah, I think I… oh! I forgot! I had one more technique to show you, but I was too focused on trying to beat you that I completely forgot about it!".
The Turtle Hermit thought, 'Just I as I thought. I had a feeling that he had one or two other techniques then the one he showed me, and it seems I was right.'.
The Fenton lad stated, "I have another ability called Duplication, which allows me to create copies of myself when I'm in my Phantom-form, but it's not an easy power to master. I can only make three, each one sharing about one-quarter of my total energy. They can turn back into human form though, but are dispelled easily with a single good attack. I have learned that if I bring them back into me, or dispel them at will, I gain their memories and experience. Causes me a bit of a headache when I do that, but it does come in handy.".
Bulma and the others were surprised to hear this, finding such an ability quite useful. Tien requested, "Do you think later on you can show us this ability of yours, Danny-san?". The young man nodded his head, the three-eyed martial artist thinking that such an ability could be useful to him.
Tien had a unique ability like Goku, which was to almost instantly analyze and copy other attacks after seeing the moves only once. However, even he knew that utilizing a technique that normally only spirits could do would be difficult given that he was a living being. He would analyze the technique, then follow up on theories to see on if it was possible to duplicate it safely.
Master Roshi nodded his head and said, "That does sound like a useful technique. In fact… once you have rested enough, I would like to see it in action. Because if it is as effective as you say it is, then you will be working on that Duplication of yours frequently.".
This surprised Danny a little, wondering what Master Roshi had in mind. But for the moment, he did trust the Turtle Master and nodded his head at him.
Emma suddenly had a look of realization on her face as she exclaimed, "Oh! I almost forgot! Danny, I still need your measurements! And also I need to ask you some questions that is needed very much!".
Dezato-san also realized what Emnma had just found out as well. She smirked and walked towards Danny, the now mortal hero perplexed on what was going on. The anthro wolf woman gently took him by the arm and stated, "Come on Danny, this is important so we need get this done now. Emma, let's go. Angelica, Gwen Honorine, come on! We got some serious work to do after we finish with Danny-boy here.".
The trio of beauties smiled and followed after their new friend, Danny having a blank look on his face as he was dragged towards the manor home. Nebula followed, wanting to be near her papa. The six went into the building, some of the group wondering what was all that about until Makoto told the curious ones that they were going to take Danny's body measurements & ask about his likes/dislikes/accomplishments and a bit of his personality. She told them that Inukami explained to her and the others that it was crucial for a project they were working on.
Yume checked her watch and saw that the time was now 10:45 a.m. She then smiled and stated in an upbeat tone, "Okay then, time for me and my pupils to get to work!".
Seeing the confused expressions on her students- Gwen Tennyson, Sabrina Spellman, Musa Liqin, Cleo Sertori and Diana Lombard, Tenshi-sensei explained, "I have found the perfect place for which to set up our magic school! We just need to clean it up before we really use it. It's that second tallest building that is near the hangers, the one with the red-domed roof & spire on it.".
The ladies realized what building she was talking about, some of them groaning as it meant more work for them to do. Master Roshi called out, "Hold on there Yume-chan! I think you may need some extra muscles here. Tien, Yamcha, Puar, Oolong, Krillin, Chiaotzu! I want you to go and help these ladies in cleaning up the building!". The martial artists nodded their head, Puar as well though Oolong was reluctant since he wanted to chill out for the rest of the day. Launch announced that she was going to the kitchen to prepare lunch for everyone, a bright smile on her face.
The martial arts master looked to the group and spoke to the remaining ladies, "I would like for the rest of you to help them out. Jenny-chan, you and Bulma-chan can go rest if you want since you helped me earlier in setting the fireworks.".
The robot with a soul answered with a smile, "Nah! I'll help them out. Just better than doing nothing.". Bulma replied the same, also that she wanted to see the place that Yume had chosen. The blue-haired genius beauty looked to the magical woman and inquired if she was going to give the building a name since she was going to use it.
Yume thought on it for a moment, then answered with a smile, "I'm going to name the building this- the Interdimensional Institute of Magic! It makes sense since all of you are from another dimension, or more specifically from another universe. And when everything is said and done, maybe keep running it with other magical beings coming to learn. And… heh, it would really stick it to the Commander Red that something of his is being used for good instead of evil world domination.".
This got a small smile from most of the group, as it would certainly be a kind of justice for something that had been used to train evil soldiers was going to be used to train good beings now.
So all of them turned around and walked back to the building that was now going to be an institute of magic, though Launch headed back into the manor to get working on her cooking.
Master Roshi watched them leave for a few moments, then turned to the manor to make that call to his sister. However, he was soon approached by Spectra and Phantasma. The student of Monster High asked him, "Say Roshi, your sister Baba… do you think she can help us too?".
The Turtle Master looked to the spectral beauty and replied, "What do you mean by that Spectra-chan?".
Phanty answered for her new friend, "Well… almost all of you are going to be doing something! And after hearing your evaluation of Danny, we want to see if perhaps we have something that can be of help! I mean, I do have a bit of magic I learned from my old school, but maybe I have something else that even I don't know about!".
Phantasma had learned some magic spells from Miss Grimwood, but it was basic magic at best and it did take a toll on her to use. She could use wind-based spells, but she never delved further as she was a ghost and could not be harmed by most things. But now after seeing that even Danny's halfa form & abilities were no match for the old master, and that some things could harm her, she wanted to learn more in order to protect herself.
The same went with Spectra, as Miss Vondergeist had wondered if she had something within that even she did not know about. And also to protect herself since in this universe, there were things that could really harm her.
Master Roshi stroked his beard for a moment or two, then answered the two ghostly women, "Knowing my sister, she'll charge a lot of money. I'll do what I can though.". Seeing that it was the best he could offer, the young ladies accepted it and flew to rejoin the others.
The Turtle Master thought to himself, 'Things are going well today. However… there is something else I noticed during my spar with Danny. I sense that there is something else that is a block for him… something that he is afraid of. It needs to be addressed, but I'll wait until later today to ask him on it.'.
After that, he walked into the manor to make the call to his sister Baba.
When the group got to the building, Yume divided up the group in order to effectively combat the mess that was her new institute. Her new pupils plus Violet Parr would handle the Ground-floor area.
Jenny Wakeman, Kara Kent, Bulma Briefs, Daria Morgendorffer, Debbie Thornberry and Kitty Pryde would handle the 1st floor that had the scientific rooms. Jenny's computer brain would be able to analyze any and all chemicals that were in the rooms, and how to dispose of them safely. And once it was done, they would check the plumbing and other utilities that needed to be checked & repaired.
Kim Possible, Barbara Gordon, Penny Proud, Wendy Corduroy and Jen Masterson would clean up the 2nd floor that had the workout gyms and various equipment that could still be put to good use.
Cree Lincoln, April O'Neal, Felicia Hardy, Yamcha and Tien would take care of the 3rd floor that had the various weapons. They would analyze what would be good enough to put on display properly, and weapons that were deemed too dangerous for novices to utilize. They would only be brought out if the situation was dire, or if one wanted to truly master that particular weapon. But it would be under strict supervision.
Starfire Etsuko, Katie Kaboom, Makoto Kino, Puar and Oolong would clean up the 4th floor area that held the sleeping & recreation quarters for officers.
Krillin, Chiaotzu, Vicky Aidith, Spectra Vondergiest, Alexandra Casoy and Phantasma would clean up the 5th floor that was the meeting room for the various commanders.
While they were doing the cleaning up, Yume had decided to make her schedule for her new pupils. She managed to find the room that was meant for the Principal/Headmaster of the RR academy, seeing that the room was still neatly kept after all this time. However, it was under a fine layer of dust. Yume channeled magic in her right hand, which was a bright white aura color, and made a sweeping motion. A pulse of magic shot forth in a crescent shape form, and the office was soon cleared of dust! It had been lifted away and obliterated instantly!
She smiled at the temporary office that was now clean. She would rummage through what was in it later and see what needed to go, and what could stay. Tenshi-sensei then sat in the chair at the large desk, pulling from her pocket the dark blue handbag that expanded magically upon mental command, and she reached inside to pull out a large notebook and a pencil.
The Author Dreams Come True 996 started writing her ideas on how to change the building to make it more suitable as an institute. She said to herself as she wrote, "Okay now… the Ground-floor is going to be the main place of study for magical theories and discussion. And since my new students are varied in magical abilities and techniques, going to cover as much ground as possible in the theoretical field.".
As she wrote down the abilities of each of her students, she also wrote possible insight sessions where each of them would dig more into their unique traits. She also wrote down the names of books that she would have to procure that would be of help to her pupils.
Once Yume was done, she started to write down what was to be done with the other floors. The 1st floor would be used as a science area, but more in the areas of alchemy where science & magic would mix. She wrote down notes on what materials that she would need to buy, both mundane and magical. Luckily, there were stores in the world that did sell both items since magic was known to the populace.
The 2nd floor, she inscribed in her notebook, would be used as a suitable workout area. She believed that both body and mind should be fit, sharp and strong. If either was imbalanced, it would lessen the potential and capabilities of the person, be they magical or not. She would check out what music the RR had left behind, and if need be bring some of her own music that would be good for workouts.
The 3rd floor would be utilized as it was meant to be, a weapons training room. Yume had seen magical beings channel magic into their weapons which had certain benefits, depending on said weapon itself. They would be utilized, not just for her students but for the others as well. But only under STRICT supervision from others that knew of weapons. Most likely either Inukami, Yamcha or Tien. She wrote down to also find training manuals for the weapons, and also what certain ones could be utilized magically to increase certain abilities and powers.
The 4th floor would be changed into places that one can practice their magic freely, and also how to utilize it for practical use in real-world scenarios.
And finally, the 5th floor would be used as a recreation center, where her students could relax. While it was important to be studious, Yume knew the difference between working hard & burning one's self out which was a negative aspect. So she needed a place where they could go and just relax.
After finishing her notes for her new institute, she wrote down names that would be the official names for each floor. Here is what she wrote down:
Ground-Floor: Main Magical Classrooms
1st Floor: Alchemy Alley
2nd Floor: Workout Wonderland
3rd Floor: Weapons Training Rooms
4th Floor: Magical Practices and Training
5th Floor: Relaxation Chamber
Once she wrote all of it down, Yume smiled as this was the first step towards teaching her students all that she knew, and that they would improve in all areas of their magical abilities and capabilities. She turned the page and started to make plans for the building that would be dubbed the Grand Greenhouse, where the whole building would be a working biodome of sorts for plants. It would house a place grow their own fruits and vegetables, and also for certain rooms to mimic certain environments like deserts, jungles, forests, etc. to raise certain plants that could only grow in said environment. And also to plant and study certain magical plants that were beneficial, not just to humans but to nature as well.
Yume also thought for a moment to one of the tall buildings that was almost next to the institute, one that had a dark-teal dome roof. She believed that place had potential to be something that could be beneficial, so she made a mental note to check on it later when she had the chance.
She pulled out from her bag a calendar that she made, one that was quite artistic, and saw that today was Friday August 31st. She said to herself, "Okay, so it seems that Gwen Ten is going to be my student officially tomorrow on September 1st. I really will try my best to bring out all of the potential, promise, possibilities and purpose for all of my students!".
The magical teacher really felt that she could as they all had promise… as with Danny, as the young woman felt that he had enormous potential and possibilities. However… like Roshi, she felt that something was off with the halfa hero during his spar with the Turtle Master.
She had a concerned look on her face as she thought, 'I felt fear from him after he used that Wail attack. A kind of fear of himself… something I believe needs to be addressed poste-haste. And I believe Roshi knows this as well. If this fear is a stumbling block, we need to find a way to break through it so that Danny can really bring out his full potential… and also that it helps him to find his purpose.'.
Yume knew the small, subtle but significant difference between potential and purpose. Potential was what inside of the person, what they were capable of. Some say that potential within people was unlimited, but she did not believe that. She believed more in the PURPOSE of someone, on what their purpose was… what the person DID with the gifts and talents that they worked on or had naturally.
Tenshi-sensei learned this lesson from a great man that she had come to listen to back in her world. Said man had shown the picture of a battery, saying that it was filled with potential. But that it was useless until it was connected. He said this quote, "Potential is overrated. Your potential is also useless until connected to your PURPOSE. Then amazing things happen!".
This she believed in, and had seen the proof with her own eyes over the course of her years.
So if there was a stumbling block with any of her students, the others, and with Danny himself… she would do what she could in order for said block to be overcome and both potential & purpose fully and clearly realized!
So Danny has shown what he is made of to Master Roshi and the others, but it seems that he still has much to do, learn and grow on. And it seems that he is not half-dead like he believed himself to be, but rather that his own inner-self, his spirit/soul had just been brought to the surface in physical form! And it seems that Master Roshi and Yume have much covered, but other issues still need to be addressed. What will happen? Find out in the next exciting episode of Danny Fenton: Season of Growth!
In the next episode of Danny Fenton: Season of Growth, Danny is confronted by Master Roshi and Yume concerning a certain fear that they believe is holding him back. Also, Makoto and Violet also reveal their alter-egos… but something happens that has Jupiter not transforming as her connection to the planet is no more! And finally, Baba arrives at the home to officially confirm her brother's theory concerning Danny and his halfa status! Well, I hope you all enjoyed this one! This one explains my theory concerning Danny's status as a halfa. And believe me, when I think or dwell on something, I keep at it as best I can. I truly believe that Danny is NOT a ghost, even though he has the abilities of them. But rather, the ecto-energy that bonded to his DNA merely brought out his most inner-self to the surface. That his spirit/soul that is often kept hidden or suppressed for some reason is brought outward, to be shown in the flesh and blood. That he is halfa-SPIRIT, not ghost.
And if one thinks about it, it does make sense. His physiology and biology are different from those of full ghosts, both subtle and obvious. And unlike the ghosts in his world, he continues to evolve. They may pick up a trick or two, but they don't change or adapt like Danny or Vlad has. It even shows in certain cannon episodes, such as him picking up the Ghostly Wail quite early & gaining an Ice-Core when against Overgrowth.
And the fact that he still has a pulse proves he is alive still! He can lower it yes, but not completely stop it as that would be fatal for him. And even though he can survive in certain extreme environments like in space, it's only for a limited time. His Phantom-form is not that all-powerful as he believes it to be.
And that is why his old self seeped back in. Oh, he recently started to do some deep self-reflecting on himself but that didn't mean he would change overnight. No, Danny and also the ladies as well still have some obstacles/issues to overcome before they can reach their true potential & purpose. So Danny is still learning much about himself, and the hard work it will require to truly overcome the inner obstacles he still has like arrogant pride, false confidence, obsessive hero complex & also unwanted fears that continue to chain him down in a negative way.
I have also shown how the others can help the future Z-Fighters! Like when the time comes for Danny to show his Duplication ability, it will inspire Tien to try and make the move his own. Thus he will learn on his own the Multiform technique! It will require hard training and knowledge, as something that is used by spirits/ghost is difficult for those still alive. But you know Tien, he will dive into theories and train hard until he can utilize and master the technique!
Yamcha, Krillin and Chiaotzu will also learn from the others in various ways, both subtle and obvious, that will help them create certain moves that is shown in the cannon series of both DB and DBZ!
And how did you like the flashback? I really believe that Paulina and Star had such promise, but was sadly wasted in the series… and that graphic novel that came out that caters to certain fanbases. I may not have read it, but I heard on what it contains & I do NOT want to read that kind of thing!
Also, I do have the Wild Women of Wrestling in two DVD sets, and I believe they are much tamer & family friendly than the current women wrestling of today. And also the WWF, at least back then, when I was little in the 1980s and 1990s was awesome and I got a DVD of the very early starts of Monday Night Raw. Wrestling actually brought the family together on certain nights, memories I will always treasure, and also thought it good to have Paulina and Star watch them back when they were kids. And as you can see, useful when fighting bullies who gang up on Danny!
And I have seen, in both the manga and in the anime, Goku, Tien and Master Roshi utilizing some wrestling moves that were quite potent. So some close-quarter combat moves I think would be good for Danny to learn.
And finally this: I prefer Dragonball GT instead of Dragonball Super, as the GT series ended I believe on a more realistic note. I know it's strange considering its anime, but this is what I believe in. And also that they overpowered many characters, and put in some that I think were just swaps of other characters from the series, and the amount of alternate realities and worlds just doesn't click that much with me.
And also that it opened up a whole new level of possibilities and such for Goku when he fused with the Dragonballs! Since Shenron can actually allow Goku to pass through dimensions, like he did when he went to Other World to wish Piccolo goodbye, then why not other worlds?
If one thinks about it, it can lead to many other kinds of possible adventures and crossovers! Shenron could cross over into other worlds/universes/dimensions/realms, and go to any of the desired worlds either to rest up while Goku has an adventure on said world!
For example, after reading an awesome Ben 10/Wonder Woman crossover story called Ben Wonder by Author Codecrash, Goku could come to the Amazonian Island when he is still in his child form and meet with Diana when she is still a young child. They could meet, and Goku can show her and the other Amazons that there is much more to him than meets the eye! And also that men are not the evil creatures that sadly many of the Amazons are led to believe.
Believe me, reading on how the Amazons have a very low and negative opinion of man, it would be immensely refreshing for Goku to change their minds in that area. All in all, this is just one of the examples of the possibilities of Goku going to other places, all thanks to the GT series!

Before the sparring session, what kind of advice would you give to Danny? And what would you say to him concerning Master Roshi's age factor?
What are your thoughts on the sparring? What do you believe Danny needs to work on in order to balance himself out in terms of fighting?
What would your thoughts be at seeing Master Roshi counter all of Danny's abilities? And when he unleashed his Max Power-Form & Kamehameha Wave?
If you were there, what would you tell Danny regarding his flaws in his fighting? What suggestions would you give him in order to make him more versatile?
What do you think of Master Roshi's theory concerning Danny's halfa-status; of being half-spirit & not half-ghost? And also of his theory concerning the Overshadowing ability?
